Description
- Die Erfindung bezieht sich auf das Gebiet der Erkennung eines Ausfalls einer Leuchtdiode.
- Leuchtdioden habe den Vorteil einer hohen Lebensdauer, weswegen sie bspw. oft für Notbeleuchtungen eingesetzt werden, die automatisch eingeschaltet werden, wenn eine Netzversorgung für andere Leuchtmittel wie bspw. Gasentladungslampen ausfällt.
- Umso wichtiger ist indessen die Erkennung eine Ausfalls einer Leuchtdiode.
- Die
DE 198 41 490 A1 zeigt eine Schaltungsanordnung, welche dem Schutz einer Serienschaltung aus mindestens zwei Leuchtdioden vor einem Ausfall dient. Jeder der in Serie geschalteten Leuchtdiode ist eine Bypass-Vorrichtung parallel geschaltet. Weiterhin ist jeder Leuchtdiode ein Komparator mit seinen beiden Eingangsanschlüssen parallel geschaltet. D.h. an einem ersten Anschluss der Diode ist ein erster Eingangsanschluss des Komparators angeschaltet, während an einem zweiten Anschluss der Diode ein zweiter Anschluss des Komparators angeschlossen ist. Die Ausgänge sämtlicher Komparatoren sind dabei miteinander verbunden. Jeder einzelne Komparator erfasst lediglich, ob sich die Spannung vor der Diode und nach der Diode unterscheidet. - Die
DE 34 41 824 C2 zeigt eine sehr einfache Schaltung zur Überwachung der Funktionsfähigkeit von Lampen in der Verkehrsleittechnik. Hierzu wird der Strom durch die Lampe als einziger Parameter überwacht. - Die Erfindung hat zur Aufgabe, eine Möglichkeit zur Erkennung eines Unterbrechungsausfalls wenigstens einer Leuchtdiode anzugeben.
- Diese Aufgabe wird durch die Merkmale der unabhängigen Ansprüche gelöst. Die abhängigen Ansprüche bilden den zentralen Gedanken der Erfindung in besonders vorteilhafter Weise weiter.
- Gemäss einem ersten exemplarischen Ausführungsbeispiel ist vorgesehen eine Betriebsschaltung für eine Leuchtdioden-Anordnung, die eine oder mehrere in Serie geschaltete Leuchtdioden aufweist, zu denen jeweils ein Element parallel geschaltet ist, das bei Unterbrechungsausfall einer Leuchtdiode den Strom durch die Leuchtdiode übernimmt. Es ist weiterhin eine Erfassungseinheit vorgesehen ist, die dazu ausgelegt ist, einen Unterbrechungsausfall wenigstens einer Leuchtdiode durch Überwachung der zeitlichen Entwicklung des Diodenstroms und der Spannung an der Leuchtdioden-Anordnung zu erkennen.
- Die Schaltung kann dazu ausgelegt sein, die Leuchtdioden-Anordnung mit konstanter Leistung zu betrieben. Dabei wird ein Unterbrechungsausfall durch einen Anstieg der Spannung an der Leuchtdioden-Anordnung bei gleichzeitigem Absinken des Strom durch die Leuchtdioden-Anordnung erkannt.
- Die Schaltung kann alternativ dazu ausgelegt sein, die Leuchtdioden-Anordnung mit konstantem Strom zu betreiben. Ein Unterbrechungsausfall wird durch einen Anstieg der Spannung an der Leuchtdioden-Anordnung erkannt wird.
- Die Erfassungseinheit kann die Strom- und Spannungsverhältnisse der Leuchtdioden-Anordnung kontinuierlich oder in Abständen erfassen.
- Die Erfassungseinheit kann die erfassten Strom- und Spannungsverhältnisse der Leuchtdioden-Anordnung in einem Speicher ablegen und einen Unterbrechungsausfall wenigstens einer Leuchtdiode durch Vergleich aktueller Werte der Strom-und Spannungsverhältnisse der Leuchtdioden-Anordnung mit wenigstens einem abgespeicherten Wert erfassen.
- Die Schaltung kann mit einer externen Datenleitung verbunden sei und die Strom- und Spannungsverhältnisse der Leuchtdioden-Anordnung auf eine über die externe Datenleitung eingehende Abfrage hin überprüfen.
- Das Ergebnis der extern angeforderten Überprüfung kann über die externe Datenleitung übermittelbar sein.
- Die Leuchtdioden-Anordnung kann als Notbeleuchtung ausgebildet sein, die bei Ausfall der Netzversorgung für Hauptleuchtmittel automatisch zugeschaltet wird.
- Die Erfassungseinheit kann die Überwachung der zeitlichen Entwicklung des Diodenstroms und/oder der Spannung an der Leuchtdioden-Anordnung bezüglich der Leuchtdiodentemperatur kompensiert durchführen. Dazu kann der Erfassungseinheit dazu eine direkte oder indirekte Temperaturinformation bezüglich der Leuchtdiodentemperatur zugeführt werden.
- Ein weiteres exemplarisches Ausführungsbeispiel bezieht sich auf ein Betriebsverfahren für eine Leuchtdioden-Anordnung, die eine oder mehrere in Serie geschaltete Leuchtdioden aufweist, zu denen jeweils ein Element parallel geschaltet ist, das bei Unterbrechungsausfall einer Leuchtdiode den Strom durch die Leuchtdiode übernimmt. Eine Erfassungseinheit erkennt einen Unterbrechungsausfall wenigstens einer Leuchtdiode durch Überwachung der zeitlichen Entwicklung des Diodenstroms und der Spannung an der Leuchtdioden-Anordnung.
- Weitere Merkmale, Aspekte und Vorteil der Erfindung sollen nunmehr bezugnehmend auf die Figuren der begleitenden Zeichnungen und die beiliegende Figuren der Zeichnungen erläutert werden.

- In der
Figur 1 ist eine Leuchtdioden-Anordnung 1 gezeigt, die im Ausführungsbeispiel mehrere in Serie geschaltete Leuchtdioden 2 aufweist. Zu jeder Leuchtdiode 2 ist ein Schutzelement 3 parallel geschaltet, das dazu ausgelegt ist, bei Ausfall der zugehörigen Leuchtdiode 2 den Strom zu übernehmen, der vor dem Ausfall durch die Leuchtdiode 2 geflossen ist. Das Schutzelement kann insbesondere eine antiparallel geschaltete Z-Diode 3 sein. - Eine Steuereinheit 4 steuert und/oder regelt den Strom durch und die Spannung an der Leuchtdioden-Anordnung 1. Bevorzugt führt die Steuereinheit 4 einen Konstantleistungsbetrieb oder einen Konstantstrombetrieb aus. Dazu ist bevorzugt vorgesehen, dass die Steuereinheit 4 den tatsächlichen herrschende Ist-Strom 8 mittels eines Messwiderstands 13 und ggf. auch die Ist-Spannung 9 der Leuchtdioden-Anordnung 1 erfasst und durch einen Regler 10 auswertet.
- Der Regler 10 gibt dann eine Steuergrösse für die Strom- und/ oder Leistungsregelung aus. Im Beispiel von
Figur 1 steuert der Regler 10 den Steuereingang 12 eines als Transistors implementierten Linearreglers 11 an, der auf der potentialniederen Seite in Serie zu der Diodenstrecke geschaltet ist. - Die Steuereinheit 4 kann funktionell mit einem internen oder externen Speicher 5 verbunden sein, im dem wenigstens ein Satz an gemessenen Strom- und Spannungswerten zum späteren Vergleich mit den entsprechenden aktuellen Werten abgelegt und ausgelesen werden kann.
- Die Steuereinheit 4 kann weiterhin eine Schnittstelle 6 zum Anschluss einer externen Datenleitung 7 aufweisen. Über die Datenleitung, die eine Busleitung 7 sein kann, können Sollwerte für die Leistung und/oder den Strom der Leuchtdioden-Anordnung 1 bspw. von einer Zentrale her zugeführt werden.
- Über diese externe Datenleitung 7 können aber auch Befehle zugeführt werden, durch die die Ausführung einer Fehlerüberprüfung durch die Steuereinheit angewiesen und/oder das Ergebnis einer solchen Überprüfung abgefragt werden kann.
- Grundsätzlich kann die Steuereinheit 4 dazu ausgelegt sein, die Fehlerüberprüfung kontinuierlich, in zeitlichen Abständen und/oder durch externe Befehle veranlasst durchzuführen. Das Ergebnis der Fehlerüberprüfung kann dann angezeigt, gemeldet oder signalisiert werden.
- Die Fehlerüberprüfung zielt dabei auf die Erfassung eines Unerbrechungsausfalls wenigstens einer Leuchtdiode 2, bei dem das parallel geschaltete Schutzelement 3 den Diodenstrom übernimmt. Zur Erfassung überwacht die Steuereinheit 4 den zeitlichen Verlauf der Strom- und/oder Spannungsverhältnisse an der Leuchtdioden-Anordnung 1.
- Der zeitliche Verlauf kann dabei durch eine Auswerteeinheit 14 durch Vergleich aktueller Werte mit (bspw. abgespeicherten) Werten aus der Vergangenheit erfolgen.
- Alternativ kann die zeitliche Ableitung des jeweiligen Parameters ermittelt werden, was später im Detail anhand von
Figur 4 erläutert werden wird. Die schnelle zeitliche Veränderung im Fehlerfall kann mittels einer Schaltung erfasst werden, die einen Kondensator und/oder eine Induktivität aufweist. - Eine Ausfall wird erkannt, wenn die genannte Auswertung eine Abweichung ergibt, die grösser als ein vorgegebener Schwellenwert ist.
- Insbesondere kann ein Fehler erkannt werden, wenn sich eine zeitliche Veränderung in einem kurzen Zeitraum ergibt. Somit könne bspw. langsamere Temperaturdriften ausgeschlossen werden.
- Die Auswertung kann dabei temperaturkompensiert sein, d.h. es wird die Abhängigkeit der Diodenkennlinien vom Temperaturgang berücksichtigt.
- Insbesondere kann es sich bei der Leuchtdioden-Anordnung 1 um eine Notbeleuchtung handeln, bei der der ordnungsgemässe Betrieb von besonderer Bedeutung ist. Insbesondere im Falle einer Notbeleuchtung kann die oben erläuterte Fernabfrage wichtig sein.

Figur 2 zeigt, wie im Fall des Betriebs der Leuchtdioden-Anordnung 1 mit konstanter (geregelter) Leistung im Falle eines Unterbrechungsfehlers wenigstens einer Leuchtdiode 2 der Strom durch die Leuchtdioden-Anordnung 1 sinkt, während die Spannung ansteigt. Dies kann durch Erfassung der zeitlichen Änderungen von Strom und Spannung bspw. durch eine Schaltung wie inFigur 1 gezeigt erfasst werden. - Bei Betrieb der Leuchtdioden-Anordnung 1 mit konstantem eingeprägten Strom bleibt im Fall des Auftretens eines Unterbrechungsfehlers der Strom natürlich konstant, während die Spannung ansteigt.

Figur 3 zeigt eine Möglichkeit der Messung des Strom und/oder der Spannung der Diodenstrecke 1. Dabei erfolgt die Strom-und/oder Leistungsregelung durch die Steuereinheit 4 durch getaktete Ansteuerung eines Leistungsschalters 15 eines Schaltreglers, der in an sich bekannter Weise weiterhin eine bei geschlossenem Schalter 15 energisierbare Drossel Lb aufweist, deren Energie sich bei geöffnetem Schalter 15 über eine Diode Db auf die Diodenstrecke 1 entlädt. Somit stellt sich in diesem Fall ein um einen Mittelwert schwankender Diodenstrom ein, dessen zeitliches Mittel von der Taktung des Schalters 15 abhängt. - Während
Figuren 1 und3 Möglichkeiten zur direkten Erfassung des Strom und/oder der Spannung der Diodenstrecke zeigen, zeigtFigur 4 eine mögliche Implementierung der Erfassung und Auswertung der zeitlichen Ableitungen des Strom und/oder der Spannung der Diodenstrecke. - In der
Figur 4 ist die Stromregelung der Einfachheit halber mittels eines Linearreglers in Form eines Transistors 11 dargestellt, dessen Steueranschluss 12 mit der durch einen Spannungsteiler 16, 17 geteilten Versorgungsspannung UIN der Leuchtdiodenstrecke 1 angesteuert wird. Über einen Messwiderstand 13 wird der Strom durch den Linearregler 11 und somit der Strom i durch die Leuchtdiodenstrecke 1 erfasst. Genauer gesagt kann mittels eines Kondensators 18 die zeitliche Änderung delta(i) des Diodenstroms erfasst und dann durch einen Komparator 19 mit einem Referenzwert iREF verglichen werden. - Mittels eines Kondensators 20 wird die zeitliche Änderung delta (U) der Diodenspannung U erfasst und durch einen Komparator 21 mit einem Referenzwert UREF verglichen.
- Die Ausgangssignale der beiden Komparatoren 19, 21 werden einer logischen Auswerteeinheit 22 zugeführt, die bspw. eine Fehlermeldung ausgibt, wenn in kurzer Zeit der Diodenstrom sinkt und gleichzeitig die Diodenspannung ansteigt, wie in
Figur 2 dargestellt ist. - Gemäss einem weiteren Aspekt der Erfindung kann die Steuereinheit eine Temperaturinformation bezüglich der Temperatur der Leuchtdioden bei der Fehlererfassung berücksichtigen, um somit die Temperaturabhängigkeit der Leuchtdioden-Flussspannung bei gegebenem Strom zu kompensieren. Die Temperaturmessung kann direkt über einen Temperatursensor oder indirekt erfolgen. Die Erfassungseinheit kann bspw. mittels Zugriff auf eine vorab abgespeicherte Tabelle die zu der Temperatur zugehörige korrigierte Flussspannung der Leuchtdioden ermitteln und diese zur Grundlage der Fehlererfassung machen.
Claims (16)
- Betriebsschaltung für eine Leuchtdioden-Anordnung (1), die eine oder mehrere in Serie geschaltete Leuchtdioden (2) aufweist, zu denen jeweils ein Element (3) parallel geschaltet ist, das bei Unterbrechungsausfall einer Leuchtdiode (2) den Strom durch die Leuchtdiode (2) übernimmt,
dadurch gekennzeichnet,
dass eine Erfassungseinheit (4) vorgesehen ist, die dazu ausgelegt ist, einen Unterbrechungsausfall wenigstens einer Leuchtdiode (2) durch Überwachung des zeitlichen Verlaufs des Diodenstroms und der Spannung an der Leuchtdioden-Anordnung (1) zu erkennen, wobei- die Erfassungseinheit (4) erfasste Strom- und Spannungswerte der Leuchtdioden-Anordnung (1) in einem Speicher (5) ablegt und einen Unterbrechungsausfall wenigstens einer Leuchtdiode (2) durch Vergleich (14) aktueller Strom- und Spannungswerte der Leuchtdioden-Anordnung (1) mit wenigstens einem zuvor abgespeicherten Wert erfasst, oder- die Erfassungseinheit (4) die zeitliche Ableitung des Diodenstroms und der Spannung an der Leuchtdioden-Anordnung (1) erfasst. - Schaltung nach Anspruch 1,
die dazu ausgelegt ist, die Leuchtdioden-Anordnung (1) mit konstanter Leistung zu betrieben, wobei ein Unterbrechungsausfall durch einen Anstieg der Spannung an der Leuchtdioden-Anordnung (1) bei gleichzeitigem Absinken des Strom durch die Leuchtdioden-Anordnung (1) erkannt wird. - Schaltung nach Anspruch 1,
die dazu ausgelegt ist, die Leuchtdioden-Anordnung (1) mit konstantem Strom zu betrieben, wobei ein Unterbrechungsausfall durch einen Anstieg der Spannung an der Leuchtdioden-Anordnung (1) erkannt wird. - Schaltung nach einem der vorhergehenden Ansprüche,
bei der die Erfassungseinheit die Strom- und Spannungsverhältnisse der Leuchtdioden-Anordnung (1) kontinuierlich oder in Abständen erfasst. - Schaltung nach einem der vorhergehenden Ansprüche,
die mit einer externen Datenleitung (7) verbunden ist und die Strom- und Spannungsverhältnisse der Leuchtdioden-Anordnung auf eine über die externe Datenleitung eingehende Abfrage hin überprüft. - Schaltung nach Anspruch 5,
die das Ergebnis der extern angeforderten Überprüfung über die externe Datenleitung (7) übermittelt. - Schaltung nach einem der vorhergehenden Ansprüche,
bei der die Leuchtdioden-Anordnung (1) als Notbeleuchtung ausgebildet ist, die bei einer Störung oder einem Ausfall der Netzversorgung automatisch zugeschaltet wird. - Schaltung nach einem der vorhergehenden Ansprüche,
bei der die Erfassungseinheit die Überwachung des zeitlichen Verlaufs des Diodenstroms und der Spannung an der Leuchtdioden-Anordnung (1) bezüglich der Leuchtdiodentemperatur kompensiert durchführt und der Erfassungseinheit dazu eine direkte oder indirekte Temperaturinformation bezüglich der Leuchtdiodentemperatur zugeführt ist. - Betriebsverfahren für eine Leuchtdioden-Anordnung, die eine oder mehrere in Serie geschaltete Leuchtdioden aufweist, zu denen jeweils ein Element parallel geschaltet ist, das bei Unterbrechungsausfall einer Leuchtdiode den Strom durch die Leuchtdiode übernimmt,
dadurch gekennzeichnet,
dass ein Unterbrechungsausfall wenigstens einer Leuchtdiode durch Überwachung des zeitlichen Verlaufs des Diodenstroms und der Spannung an der Leuchtdioden-Anordnung erkannt wird,
wobei erfasste Strom- und Spannungswerte der Leuchtdioden-Anordnung in einem Speicher ablegt werden,
wobei ein Unterbrechungsausfall wenigstens einer Leuchtdiode durch Vergleich aktueller Strom- und Spannungswerte der Leuchtdioden-Anordnung mit wenigstens einem zuvor abgespeicherten Wert erfasst wird, oder
wobei die zeitliche Ableitung des Diodenstroms und der Spannung an der Leuchtdioden-Anordnung erfasst werden. - Betriebsverfahren nach Anspruch 9,
bei dem die Leuchtdioden-Anordnung mit konstanter Leistung betrieben wird und ein Unterbrechungsausfall durch einen Anstieg der Spannung an der Leuchtdioden-Anordnung bei gleichzeitigem Absinken des Strom durch die Leuchtdioden-Anordnung erkannt wird. - Betriebsverfahren nach Anspruch 9,
bei dem die Leuchtdioden-Anordnung mit konstantem Strom betrieben wird und ein Unterbrechungsausfall durch einen Anstieg der Spannung an der Leuchtdioden-Anordnung erkannt wird. - Betriebsverfahren nach einem der Ansprüche 9 bis 11,
bei dem zur Erkennung eines Fehlerausfalls die Strom- und Spannungsverhältnisse der Leuchtdioden-Anordnung kontinuierlich oder in Abständen erfasst werden. - Betriebsverfahren nach Anspruch 12,
bei dem die erfassten Strom- und Spannungsverhältnisse der Leuchtdioden-Anordnung in einem Speicher abgelegt werden und ein Unterbrechungsausfall wenigstens einer Leuchtdiode durch Vergleich aktueller Werte der Strom- und Spannungsverhältnisse der Leuchtdioden-Anordnung mit wenigstens einem zuvor abgespeicherten Wert erfasst wird. - Betriebsverfahren nach einem der Ansprüche 9 bis 13,
bei dem die Strom- und Spannungsverhältnisse der Leuchtdioden-Anordnung auf eine über die externe Datenleitung eingehende Abfrage hin überprüft werden. - Betriebsverfahren nach Anspruch 14,
bei dem das Ergebnis der extern angeforderten Überprüfung über die externe Datenleitung zurückgesendet wird. - Betriebsverfahren nach einem der Ansprüche 9 bis 15,
bei der die Leuchtdioden-Anordnung als Notbeleuchtung verwendet wird, die bei Ausfall der Netzversorgung automatisch zugeschaltet wird.
