Definitions
- This invention relates to a rapier band for a rapier loom.
- the invention also relates to a rapier loom with such Rapier.
- EP 741 200 A1 discloses a rapier band made of reinforced plastic used. To increase the strength of the rapier band, be Reinforcing fibers with high strength integrated into the rapier band, which are, for example, carbon fibers or Kevlar fibers. After EP 741 200 A1, the gripper belt on the longitudinal surfaces in addition have a wear-resistant layer containing non-abrasive fibers.
- Such a rapier band has the disadvantage that the rapier band through Such coatings become thicker and thus less suitable to a drive wheel to be bent. Such coatings are too when engaging the teeth of a toothed wheel in the openings Of the rapier band usually not beneficial and usually carry only little to the forces on the teeth of the drive wheel on the Gripper band to transfer.
- the invention is intended to improve a rapier band of the above type.
- Such a rapier band in which the body and the at least composing a layer differently, allows that The main body is composed of materials that give it a high Give strength, and that the at least one layer of materials This is a high wear resistance when rubbed against the warp threads and / or good sliding properties Lend warp threads.
- the rapier band includes a Row of holes extending in the longitudinal direction of the rapier band and is arranged on one of the broad sides of the rapier band, a Basic body, which is located at least in the region of the row of holes, and at least one layer extending in the width of the rapier band in extends a distance to the row of holes.
- Such a rapier band has the advantage that the rapier band in the area of the main body with the row of holes as largely homogeneous Part can be executed. Since the at least one layer is not in the area of the row of holes in the rapier band, this can Layer by engaging the teeth of the drive wheel in the holes of the rapier band do not detach. This also offers the advantage that the teeth of the drive wheel, which are in the holes of the rapier band can intervene over a large contact area, whereby the Wear of the teeth and the holes remains low and a long one Lifespan is reached. For this reason, the gripper tape for suitable for use in fast weaving machines. Such a big one Contact surface in an above homogeneous body can in a rapier band according to the invention by a relatively small Height of the rapier band can be achieved, with such a rapier band can be easily bent around a drive wheel.
- the at least a layer in operation on the side facing that of the warp threads is.
- an inventive rapier band with at least a layer is provided, which in operation on the side of the warp threads and which can interact with the warp threads results the advantage that the layer can be chosen in a suitable manner can, so the at least one layer is not or only in fairly small Dimensions acting on the warp threads. This allows the at least a layer at the same time are little worn. Furthermore is avoided by the at least one layer that abrasive reinforcing fibers preferably reinforced base body of the rapier band can interact with the warp threads.
- the at least one contains Layer no carbon fibers.
- a conventional rapier band Containing carbon fibers
- the carbon fibers act on the warp threads and the warp threads in this way damage or blacken.
- This blackening is caused by that carbon fibers are released from the rapier band and on the warp threads, in particular on the sizing agent or so called "sizing agent", with which the warp threads are equipped act.
- this problem can be avoided.
- the at least one layer of a material for example, from the so-called Teflon or PTFE, polytetrafluoroethylene, that may contain fillers that have high wear resistance when rubbed on the warp threads and / or good sliding properties has opposite the warp threads.
- This material must but not necessarily have a high strength. It is preferable that the main body of the rapier band has a high strength and having rigidity.
- the gripper belt comprises at least one layer extending in width from one side edge of the Gripper bands extends to a distance from the row of holes. Thereby the at least one layer certainly extends up to the edge of the rapier band coming into contact with the warp threads.
- the gripper belt comprises a longitudinal side of a first layer extending in the direction of the width of the first side edge of the rapier band to a distance from the Hole row extends and on this longitudinal side a second layer, which is in width from the other side edge of the rapier band to one Distance from the row of holes extends.
- the base body consists of a fiber-reinforced Part which preferably contains short carbon fibers.
- the inventive Gripper tape on the side of the at least one layer a smooth Outer surface in the longitudinal direction. This can happen at a given Weaving machine a conventional gripper belt with a smooth outer surface replaced in the longitudinal direction by an inventive rapier band become.
- the rapier loom shown in Figure 1 comprises two gripper bands 1, to each of which a gripper and a Gebergreifer 2 and a slave gripper 3 are attached.
- the Geberreifer 2 can one Weft from one side of the loom of the rapier loom until bring to the middle of the shed, while the gripper grab 3 there Take the weft and to the opposite side of the rapier can bring.
- each rapier band 1 of a Drive unit 4 driven, each in the range of a side frame 5 of the loom is arranged.
- Each drive unit 4 comprises a drive wheel 6, which interacts with a rapier band 1, to move the rapier 1 in the shed.
- the gripper belt 1 is flexible and can drive around the drive 6 are bent.
- Each rapier band 1 is provided with guide blocks 7 held in contact with the drive wheels 6.
- Each has Drive wheel 6 spreads over the circumference a number of teeth 8.

- This main body 22 includes, for example High strength reinforcing fibers, e.g. Carbon fibers, especially short carbon fibers. Such carbon fibers are known to be quite abrasive, however, give the gripper belt 1 a high strength.
- the binder contains, for example, a thermoplastic, in particular a polymer such as e.g. one Polyamide.
- the core 22 may be other reinforcing fibers as carbon fibers, e.g. Kevlar fibers include.
- the reinforcing fibers in conventionally in layers or as a fabric such as can be used described in EP 741 200 A1, which by a conventional Binders are connected.
- the inventive rapier band 1 shown in Figures 2 to 4 has two layers 30 and 31 extending in the longitudinal direction A of the rapier band 1 extend. These two layers 30 and 31 are located on the longitudinal side 20, i. on the broad side or longitudinal surface of the a substantially flat, rectangular cross-section Gripper bands 1, which in operation to the lower warp thread level 40 of a Shed 41 is directed. In operation and in the example shown is this is the lower wide longitudinal side 20.
- This longitudinal side 20 is in the illustrated embodiment facing the drive wheel 6, when the Gripper belt 1 is bent around the drive wheel 6.
- the layers 30 and 31 are arranged so that a rapier band 1 with a smooth Long side 20 is achieved in the region of the layers 30 and 31, i.
- the Layers 30, 31 are flush with the outer surface of the wide Long side 20.
- This longitudinal side 20 is located on the longitudinal side 21 of the rapier band 1 opposite side, which in operation according to the representation in Figure 4 attached to the rapier 1 gripper rapier 3 and the upper warp thread plane 42 faces.

- the lower warp level 40 and the upper warp level 42 converge on the stop line 43 of the fabric 46.
- FIG. 4 further comprises a fabric support 44 and a support 45 for the lower warp thread level 40 is shown.
- the layer 30 extends in the direction the width B from the side edge 23 to a distance X from the row of holes 9, while the layer 31 in the direction the width B from the side edge 24 to a distance Y. extends from the row of holes 9.
- the two layers 30 and 31 are located symmetrical to the longitudinal central axis 32 and extend in the direction the width B of the rapier band 1 to a distance from the longitudinal center axis 32 of the rapier band 1.
- the longitudinally extending Layers 30, 31 thus now extend over a part of the longitudinal side 20 of the rapier band 1. This is advantageous when bending the rapier band 1 to a drive wheel 6 and during the transport of the rapier band. 1 through the shed 41.
- the layers 30 and 31 contain, for example, a material, e.g. one thermoplastic, which when rubbing on the warp threads has a high wear resistance and that compared to the warp threads has good sliding properties.
- This material does not necessarily have have a high strength.
- Teflon or PTFE used that has the above properties has.
- Teflon or PTFE also can not use abrasive fillers like For example, contain bronze. Adding bronze as a filler not only increases the thermal conductivity of Teflon or PTFE, but also improves the wear resistance against the warp threads and the sliding properties against the warp threads.
- the layers 30 and 31 are located in operation at the lower warp level 40.
