  5. Apparatus according to claim 3, characterised in that the padding consists of foamed material which gives the apparatus a buoyancy in water.
  6. Apparatus according to claim 1, characterised in that the throwing line carries a stopper above the fastening for the loop to be placed around the body of the person.
  7. Apparatus according to daim 1, characterised in that the blocking device carries a lever for switching the brake on and off.
  8. Apparatus according to claim 1, characterised in that the loop consists of two belts, one floatable and one non-floatable belt, between which a net is preferably arranged.
  9. Apparatus according to claim 1, characterised in that the cable forming the throwing line is floatable.
  10. Apparatus according to claim 1, characterised in that the lever of the blocking device is accommodated in a gap of the padding between the two plates of the bearing device.
  11. Apparatus according to claim 1, characterised in that hooks for suspending one or more rescuers are attached to the guide and blocking device.
  12. Method for rescuing people in distress at sea by means of a cable serving as a throwing line, to the end of which is fastened a rescue loop consisting of two belts, characterised in that the cable is guided through a blocking device for the running of the cable, which can be switched off, which blocking device is suspended on a lifting device, the cable is pulled in by hand on board the ship bringing help until the person to be rescued has been pulled up to the blocking device and in that the blocking device, together with the person to be rescued, is then lifted out of the water by the lifting device and brought on board, wherein the lifting device is a crane located on board the ship.
  13. Method according to claim 12, characterised in that the blocking device is suspended on the hook of the crane and lowered to just above the surface of the water or onto the surface of the water, in that the cable with the rescue loop is thrown to the person in distress at sea, who places the rescue loop around himself or has the rescue loop placed around him, in that the cable serving as a throwing line is then preferably pulled by hand until the person in distress at sea has arrived at the blocking device, the crane is then put into operation, and the person in distress at sea, together with the blocking device, is lifted to over the upper edge of the ship's side.
  14. Method according to claim 12, characterised in that the blocking device is padded on the outside and designed in a manner similar to a fender.
  15. Method according to claim 12, characterised in that the person suspended on the rescue apparatus and hauled on deck is released from the rescue apparatus by actuating the lever of the cable brake.
  16. Method according to claim 12, characterised in that the person suspended on the rescue apparatus and hauled on deck is released by decoupling the loop from the cable serving as a throwing line and the rescue apparatus is then released from the crane hook.
  17. Method according to claim 12, characterised in that a rescue loop consisting of two belts is used and a net is preferably arranged between these belts.
