Description
The invention relates to a composite life raft for evacuating, securing and rescuing one or more shipwrecked persons according to the preamble of claim 1.
Rettungsinseln, bzw. Life rafts, or life rafts, are used for self-rescue by ship crews and guests on board a ship in the event that an evacuation is necessary. Life rafts are also occasionally used for otherwise shipwrecked people who are already in the water. In particular, life rafts that can be filled pneumatically are available in a variety of designs.
Such life rafts are usually thrown overboard and then pneumatically filled and opened at the surface of the water and then climbed by the shipwrecked either directly from the deck, for example via slides or after jumping into the water, from the water.
When climbing a life raft or a life raft from the water, there are often great difficulties for weak and hypothermic people, since the usually high and strong edge bead of a life raft has to be overcome by exertion. To make this easier, most life rafts have entry aids, which are arranged at the entry opening of the life raft under water in the form of stair-like structures.
The entry into the life raft, however, remains dependent on greater physical exertion and also does not allow free access to the life raft from all sides, which is particularly difficult if several people want to climb the life raft from the water at the same time in heavy seas.
Another major disadvantage of such pneumatically filled life rafts is that they can only be boarded when a ship is evacuated when they are already floating on the surface of the water, which causes great difficulties for guests and elderly people in particular with higher side walls, since this is different than in the case of lifeboats, the life rafts cannot be manned on deck and before launching onto the water surface.
Another very big disadvantage is that the shipwrecked people from the life raft can only be taken back onto deck with a rescue vehicle with great difficulty in rough weather and high waves. Most life rafts are not suitable for being lifted directly on board a ship together with the shipwrecked persons secured in them. The time-consuming and costly refilling and repackaging work are also a disadvantage for repeated, prompt repeated practice with these life rafts.
It is also a major disadvantage of traditional life rafts or rafts that when they are dropped from a ship they often hit the water upside down in such a way that the protective space provided above the storage area of the life raft, which is provided by a temporary roof with the help of a stretched tarpaulin is formed, is directed downwards into the water, as a result of which the storage area, which is incorrectly positioned towards the water, can no longer be climbed as intended and either with strenuous effort - which can only be achieved with sufficient exercise, fitness and experience, - has to be turned with the canopy upwards in the water or is unusable.
It is the object of the invention to avoid the disadvantages of only subsequently possible climbing on the water surface and the difficult and not all-round possible entry, as well as the difficult catching up of the people to be rescued in one stroke and the advantages of a possible ascent on deck, as well as one in To enable free and unhindered access to water on all sides together with the advantage that all people can catch up in one go, as well as easier repetitive and easier practice.
This object is achieved in the case of a generic composite life raft by the characterizing features of claim 1.
The general meaning of the term composite: (lat. Composition, Brockhaus edition 1998, vol. 7, p. 440), or "according to certain criteria, design, composition", is here on the special design of the composite life raft with two structural and related to functionally opposing and distinctive, very different components.
With the two structurally opposing components, which are combined to form a structurally coherent unit, a functional division of the two components in the rescue procedure is also connected. The term composite life raft thus also refers to a first rescue phase in which people floating in the water are guided to a collection point in the water with the help of the first component and secured there, and a second rescue phase in which they are at the People brought to the assembly point and secured there can be lifted out of the water with the help of the second component and thus saved.
The term composite life raft is therefore not only defined by general and arbitrary structural combinations of various individual parts.
The first structural buoyant component required for this is formed by a floating body that is freely accessible on all sides, which is made of solid or an unsinkable hollow body or of a pneumatically fillable material and which is arranged on the water surface as a collection point for people floating in the water and which is so much Buoyancy is that the first structural, buoyant component holds a second, non-buoyant structural component, called the spreader frame, in the water for barrier-free swimming of people to the first structural component, the floating body, in a suitable position below the water surface. To attach the second structural component, the spreader frame, to the first structural component, the floating body, the spreader frame has a vertical center tube arranged in the middle and a guide tube with an upper stopper arranged above it, with the aid of which the spreader frame is arranged below the floating body and which is formed from such light building materials that it is held under water by the first structural component, the floating body, in a provided position at a distance from the floating body, a trough-shaped bearing surface being spanned horizontally above the spreader frame at a distance, which after securing shipwrecked persons to buoyant handles that are attached to the floating body, is raised to the surface of the water.

The floating body of the composite life raft, on the other hand, has the task of collecting people floating in the water at a point vertically above the center of the spreading frame, which is lowered and opened in the water, along with the storage area spanned over it, and thereby ensuring that the Persons within the outer edge of the storage area can be captured by the storage area and safely picked up.

If the people are secured to the lifebuoy at the lifebuoy, the spreader frame, which is lowered in the water, with the net stretched horizontally over it, is lifted up under water with the help of a crane Net are protected against sliding out when further catching up on a ship.

- Rescue Star in action (lifeline; 03:46 min) and
- Person overboard! Rescue on the high seas (Rescue Star / lifeline; 16:34 min).
An upper limit to the sliding up and down of the floating body on the guide tube is formed in the composite life raft in the form of an upper stop adjustably arranged on the vertical guide tube, whereby a further lowering of the underwater spreading frame is limited and for which the spreading frame is sufficiently light Material, for example made of aluminum or carbon fiber material.
By arranging a height-adjustable upper stopper on the vertical guide tube of the spreader frame, which is collapsed in a V-shape on the deck of a ship in standby position, on which the float rests with its upper side due to buoyancy in the water, a further sinking of the guide tube and of the lower end of the guide tube arranged spreader frame down, excluded in deeper water, the underwater The lowered and horizontally opened spreader frame is not held by the crane rope, as is the case with the lifeline, but by the floating body floating on the surface of the water.
The lateral and vertical movement limitation of the first structural buoyant component, the floating body, creates a coherent, functional unit on the guide tube between the first structural floating component, the floating body, and the open, second structural non-floating component located underneath, the one in the water Limited under the float, the spreader frame is formed in the form of a composite life raft, which floats freely in rough seas independently of a crane and a crane rope and thus also independently of a position under a recovery device at any point on board a ship by dropping or lowering with a The lifeline is overboard.
The development of the height-adjustable upper stopper on the vertical guide tube of the second structural non-buoyant component, the spreader frame, above and above the float and other advantageous structural properties, makes the function of a composite life raft floating freely and independently of a connection to a ship in the water formed, whereby a connection to a rescue vehicle is established by attaching a line, for example an ocher, at one end of a boom of the spreader frame and a horizontal movement of the composite life raft through the water to an rescue vehicle is effected.

Subsequent lifting of the storage area after a shipwrecked person has been floated in is also possible with the composite life raft, whereby the raising of the storage area lowered in the water, for example a net or a pneumatically fillable storage area, is optionally effected by the pneumatic filling of a circumferential bead, which is attached to or under the outer ends of the boom of the spreader frame lowered in the water and to the circumferential outer edge of the bearing surface or by lifting the guide tube and the expanding frame and the bearing surface stretched over it by vertical pull, for which a fitting is arranged at the upper end of the guide tube is, for example, a ring or a swivel to which a line or an endless belt is attached, which is releasably hooked with its upper loop bend into a hook of a rope winch of an emergency vehicle.

The filling of the circumferential bead and, if the composite liferaft is equipped with a pneumatically fillable storage area, the storage area, is carried out by triggering a compressed air cartridge, which is advantageous for weight stability of the composite liferaft in the middle under or in the lower area on the spreading frame is arranged to be easily exchangeable, by pulling on a rip cord, which is optionally operated remotely from the deck of a ship or by a person secured on the handles of the floating body of the composite liferaft.
By optionally lifting the bearing surface of the composite liferaft with the help of the guide tube or by filling the circumferential bead, the use of a filled bead is dispensed with during exercises to avoid frequent changes and refilling of a compressed air cartridge.
By lifting the bearing surface with the help of the pneumatically filled circumferential bead or by lifting with the help of the vertically arranged guide tube, the upper stopper of the guide tube, which is arranged above the float, is released from the top of the float and shifted upwards, with the float on its own weight the surface of the water remains.
To avoid a further and deeper lowering of the float onto the bearing surface as the guide tube is raised, a second, vertically height-adjustable lower stopper is arranged on the guide tube under the float and above the bearing surface, on which the float, which is no longer carried by the buoyancy of the water, is arranged the complete lifting of the bearing surface out of the water is locked and stored, whereby the evacuated, shipwrecked persons are unhindered and safe from the floating body by a height-adjustable distance is formed between the bearing surface and the floating body.
Taking people from a life raft floating in the water on the deck of a ship is known to cause great difficulties due to the different dynamic movements of the sea on the one hand and the different dynamic movements of the ship due to the sea on the other.
The securing of people in the composite liferaft given before they are taken on deck prepares and facilitates a recording in that time is saved and the composite liferaft is optionally fetched and moored alongside a side of a rescue vehicle with a haul-out line so that it is possible to climb over with a low side wall without time pressure or by attaching a line with its one end to a fitting, to the upper end of the guide tube and with its other end to a hook of a winch of the rescue vehicle.
This rescue system is due to its continuously free storage area without a in the middle of the Central and guide tube arranged on the storage area, the lifting of the spreader frame and the storage area spanned above the open spreader frame at a distance above in this device by lines or straps or chains attached to the outer edge of the spreader frame, which are above the center of the spreader frame or the Bearing surfaces are conically brought together at a greater distance in a suspension point and which is connected to a guide rope which is led to a crane hook.
The guide rope for a float, which is arranged above the suspension point of the conically arranged lines or straps, consists of a line which is attached to the suspension point at its lower end and which is connected to a crane hook at its upper end and on which a float is slidable on and slides down and thereby compensates for wave heights regardless of the length of the crane rope and as a gathering point for people drifting in the water, it prepares the reception through the storage area below. In this patent, the problem of the wave lag, which is necessary for rescue in the sea, was solved with the help of a floating body which is arranged displaceably on a guide rope and serves as a gathering point for people floating in the water.
This restriction of use therefore only permits safe use in waters without heavy seas, despite the advantage of a wave aftertaste given by the floating body that is displaceable on the guide rope.
