Definitions
- the invention relates to a sequin head for an embroidery machine, in particular Schifflistickmaschine, according to the preamble of claim 1.
- Sequin embroidery is a fashion item. A demand for sequins Fabrics are therefore exposed to very large fluctuations. Therefore, embroidery machines are like Ship embroidery machines usually with removable from the embroidery machine Sequin heads can be equipped. The sequin heads with which the applicant has so far Because of their width, embroidery machines are one in every four needles Schifflistickmaschine on a arranged in front of the embroidery base above the needles Arrange carrier. They are powered by compressed air. A first air cylinder drives via a ratchet wheel and a wart wheel coupled to the ratchet wheel Sequin ribbon through a channel in front of a place where the sequin with the needle of the Embroidery machine can be embroidered.
- the ratchet wheel and wart wheel are in one common axis arranged side by side and between two cheeks.
- a second, a cutting device drives perpendicular to the first compressed air cylinder, with which the driven sequins after attaching the sequins to the embroidery base cut from the sequin ribbon.
- the piston of this second cylinder is actuated plus a lever arm that rotates an axis.
- the axis runs next to the a cheek past the ratchet wheel and wart wheel.
- At one end of this axis is the Lever and a shear knife arranged at the opposite end, which at Rotate the axis past the channel opening and together with one Shear edge of the channel opening shears off the sequin protruding through this opening.
- a switchable sequin head for a sewing embroidery machine known.
- This is the needle bar that can be moved vertically up and down with one Eccentric driven by a lever arrangement.
- a drive rod for the Sequin head can be coupled to the needle bar.
- the coupled drive rod moves up and down synchronously with the needle bar. Slides when moving down its lower end in a first phase over a sliding surface of a pivotable Drive lever, which is pivoted thereby.
- the drive lever becomes a wart wheel mounted on the drive axis of the drive lever rotated, which advances a sequin with each pivoting.
- the Drive axle is mounted on a shaft.
- the drive lever With the advancing swivel movement the drive lever becomes a blade lever supported on the same shaft by friction pivoted and thereby raised a blade, so that the path for the sequins between the blade and a shaving edge.
- the advanced sequin lies in front of the shearing edge and is by the downward-piercing needle on the embroidery base sutured.
- the drive rod slides over in a second phase of the downward movement a parallel to the direction of movement of the drive rod side surface of the Drive lever while holding it in the swivel position so that the sequin in front of the The cutting edge is still when the needle is inserted.
- a disadvantage of this device is the dependence of the blade movement on Frictional forces between the blade lever and the drive lever, as well as the Reset of the drive lever via spring force. These disadvantages are one high-speed operation of the sequin head. Another disadvantage is that the Movement of the blade and the feed movement are coupled to one another in such a way that the sequin ribbon is advanced before the blade is raised to the path to release for the front sequin.
- a sequin head is to be proposed, which at least also 500 revolutions per minute an embroidery machine can work reliably. In doing so the wear of the mechanical parts can be kept as low as possible.
- a sequin head for an embroidery machine with a Feed device for feeding a sequin band and one Cutting device for cutting a sequin from the sequin band one by means of a single drive drivable actuating mechanism for actuating both the Feed device and the cutting device formed.
- the drive expediently pivots a pivoting part of the Alternating actuation mechanism.
- a connecting rod is articulated on the swivel part, which is connected to the feed device.
- the swivel part is with the Cutting device connected in such a way that the cutting device is then actuated when the drive connecting rod passes through the dead center. This allows the same Swing movement can be precisely advanced and cut. The blade rises again before the next feed movement begins.
- the cutting device therefore blocks the feed path for the sequin belt only when none Feed takes place.
- the actuating mechanism expediently has a clutch lever, with which it can be detachably connected to the drive.
- the actuation mechanism is formed in a preferred embodiment such that the drive by a alternating movement must take place. Alternating movements can be done with pneumatic or hydraulic cylinders are generated. However, it is preferred the generation of the alternating movement by means of a crank drive.
- crank drives with cams on one rotating shaft, the swivel arms that grip the cams and on these attached drive rods that extend over the entire length of the embroidery machine a drive technology proven in embroidery machines.
- These crank drives can be used suitable design run with very high tours.
- a crank drive for Sequin heads are therefore advantageous with the other crank drives of the embroidery machine connected by a common gear and thus exactly with the Stitching process synchronized.
- a control member is also advantageous Control of the clutch lever arranged on the sequin head.
- This control unit must respond very quickly and be precisely controllable.
- a suitable organ is a pneumatic cylinder with a return spring for the piston.
- the piston is advantageously used to release the clutch lever from the drive Air pressure pressed into a first position and to connect the clutch lever with the drive from this first position by the return spring to a second position withdrawn.
- a connecting rod connected to the pawl is advantageous a pivotable part pivotable by the drive about an axis.
- a jacket curve is advantageously formed in the swivel part, in which the Lever of the cutting device engages.
- the jacket curve is expedient formed such that the pivoting of the lever of the cutting device in one Swivel range of the swivel part takes place, in which the drive rod at least performs almost no drive motion. As a result, the sequin ribbon will then cut when it practically stands still.
- a fastening plate for fastening the sequin head is on the sequin head articulated on an embroidery machine. Due to the pivoting of the mounting plate the operating mechanism with feed device and cutting device of Swivel the sequin head in relation to the embroidery machine and thereby into one Adjust work position or a rest position. In the rest position, the The clutch lever cannot be engaged by accidentally switching the cylinder.
- the shape of the sequin head is advantageous Design such that a sequin head is arranged at every second embroidery site can. It is particularly important for this that its width is nowhere double Needle spacing, which is usually 27.08 mm, exceeds.
- an inventive Sequin head which is designed for the drive with a crank drive, must an embroidery machine equipped with a separate crank drive for sequin heads his.
- the pivoting drive rod of the cube drive for driving the Sequin head is expediently arranged over the needles.
- the movement of the drive rods of the different crank drives one Embroidery machine is advantageous with a plurality of over the length of the embroidery machine distributed gearboxes for parallel driving of crank drives achieved. If this is the case, at least one of these gears is provided for this and adapted accordingly to drive the crank drive for the sequin heads.
- a sequin head 11 is shown as from the needle side against the You can see the embroidery background of a Schiffli embroidery machine.
- the sequin head 11 is shown in side view.
- a bearing block 13 extends as a disk arranged perpendicular to the embroidery base 12 in FIG vertical direction.
- a feed axis 15 for one Feed device 17 stored for a sequin belt 19. This allows a narrow one Construction of the sequin head.
- the feed device 17 is connected to a Drive mechanism 21, which can be driven by a crank drive.
- a clutch lever 25 is latched into the rod 23.
- the clutch lever 25 takes over the movement of the rod 23 when it is engaged, otherwise it moves the rod 23 past the stationary clutch lever 25.
- the clutch lever 25 is hinged to a swivel part 27.
- the swivel part 27 is on a swivel part axis 29 stored, which is arranged parallel to the rod 23.
- On the swivel part 27 is a Drive rod 31 articulated, which the pivot part 27 with the pawl 33 one Pawl wheel 35 connects.
- the ratchet wheel is arranged on the feed axis 15.
- the Pawl 33 is articulated to a pawl lever 39 mounted on the feed axis 15.
- the sequin band 19 consists of a A plurality of sequins 61 connected to each other (Fig. 12).
- a blade axis 45 is also mounted perpendicular to the feed axis 15.
- a cutting blade 47 is arranged on the blade axis 45 .
- a finger 51 which protrudes from the lever arm 49 and in a Swinging part 27 trained jacket curve 53 engages.
- the jacket curve 53 has one Section 55, which causes the Finger 51 moves and lever arm 49 is pivoted to actuate blade 47.
- the sequin head works as follows: To activate the sequin head, the Clutch lever 25 latched into the rod 23. The embroidery machine is operated with the rod 23 of the clutch lever 25 in the longitudinal direction of the sequin head 11 up and down emotional. As a result, the swivel part 27 is reciprocated about the swivel part axis 29 pivoted and the drive rod 31 moves up and down.
- This driving movement moves the pawl 33 in such a way that it engages the ratchet wheel 35 each advance by one tooth and then withdrawn over the next tooth to advance this next tooth in the next cycle.
- the wart wheel 43 is rotated, which with each feed movement in each case feeds a sequin 61 over a shear edge 61.
- FIG. 1 and 2 are the directions of rotation of the ratchet wheel 35 and pivoting part 27 rectified.
- the articulated on the pivot part 27 end 57 of the connecting rod 31 leads to the Swiveling the pivoting part 27 in each case a circular movement.
- This Circular movement leads the articulated end 57 of the connecting rod 31 through an upper one Dead center.
- the drive rod leads 31 no drive movement. In a range of a few degrees of angle before and after the dead center, the drive movement is very small.
- the lever arm 49 is pivoted through the jacket curve 53. By pivoting of the lever arm 49, the blade axis 45 is rotated and thus the blade 47 pivoted. When pivoted, the blade 47 shears one over the shear edge 59 protruding sequin 61 from sequin tape 19.
- the actuating mechanism 21 also has in the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 3 Swivel part 27 on.
- This has a pivot point for the clutch lever 25 and the connecting rod 31.

- Figure 4 shows the cutting device on its own.
- a swivel part 27 has a jacket curve 53.
- a finger 51 of the lever arm 49 fastened to the blade axis 45 is guided.
- the Blade axis 45 is mounted in the bearing block 13 and has one at its other end Blade 47, which is pivotable by pivoting the lever arm 49.
- a plate 71 is arranged on the bearing block 13. There is a shear edge 59 on the plate 71 educated. On the plate 71, the sequin band 19 is between the wart wheel 43 and Shear edge 59 on. Between the blade 47 pressed against the shear edge 59 and the Shear edge 59 are advanced sequins 61 when the blade is pivoted 47 sheared off the sequin band 19. To ensure a pressure between the blade and the shear edge are between the lever arm 49 and the bearing block 13 on the blade axis 45 one or more spring washers 73 are arranged, which pull on the blade axis 45 exert and so press the blade 47 against the shear edge 59.
- the plate 71 has a slot in which when the Sequin tape 19 the warts extending through the holes in the sequins of the wart wheel 43 move. That is between the wart wheel and the shear edge 59 Sequin tape in a channel, not shown in Figure 4, which through the Plate 71 and a U-shaped profile part is formed.
- the sequin head 11 is pivotable on a carrier 75 attachable to an embroidery machine. This is done by a swivel mechanism like a Parallelogram reached. This does not consist of the mounting plate 77 and two completely parallel to one another on the fastening plate 77 and the bearing block 13 Articulated levers 79, 81. On the upper lever 81 there is also an adjusting rod 83 articulated, which is latched to a latch bar 85. This latch bar 85 runs the entire length of the embroidery machine and is part of an adjustment mechanism. The latching rod can be raised and lowered with an adjusting cylinder 87.
- the latch rod is carried by swivel arms, which on a by means of Adjustment cylinder 87 rotatable adjustment shaft 89 sit. If the adjusting cylinder 87 actuated, it rotates the adjusting shaft 89 by approx. 60 °. As a result, the latch rod 85 pivoted by these degrees, the latched in the latch bar 85 Adjustment rod 83 via the upper lever 81, the bearing block 13 with all of it arranged parts pivoted relative to the mounting plate 77. The Swiveling takes place upwards away from the needles 91 of the embroidery machine, or towards down towards the needles 91. A spring is provided in the adjusting rod, which yields if, in the pivoting towards the needles 91, the pivoting of the Sequin head 11 is hindered.
- FIG. 5 shows the lower working position in which the sequin head 11 is active 6, the moved-away rest position in which the sequin head 11 at Can remain unused.
- the precise height of the sequin head 11 with respect to the needle 91 is extremely important and adjustable with an adjusting screw 78.
- the latching rod 81 presses the sequin head 11 down with the adjusting rod 83.
- the adjusting screw 78 is against a stop 80 on the mounting plate 77 pressed.
- the adjusting rod 83 is resiliently variable in length executed. As a result, the precise height of the sequin head 11 is not due to the Position of the latching rod 81 defined, but definable by the adjusting screw 78.
- the drive of the sequin head is shown in detail in FIG.
- a drive shaft 92 is arranged on the embroidery machine. With distance to the drive shaft this carries the drive rod 23, which it up and down in operation pivoted.
- the clutch lever 25 is suspended in the drive rod 23.
- the Clutch lever 25 is at the end with an oblique to the direction of movement Coupling lever 25 extending control surface 93 equipped. Below the Control surface 93 is formed a small trough 95.
- a control cylinder 97 is arranged in clutch lever 25.
- the control cylinder 97 can are controlled such that it advances a piston 99 by means of compressed air or with a spring.
- FIGS. 7 and 8 The practically fully equipped sequin head 11 is shown in FIGS. 7 and 8.
- FIG. 7 one on the bearing block 13 attached feed pipe 101 for the sequin tape and the guide aids thereon for a sequin tape reel 103.
- the above-mentioned channel 107 is also for the Guide the sequin belt between the wart wheel 43 and blade 47, and a Guide body 109 for inserting the sequin tape into the feed device 17 shown.
- a holding part 105 for the control cylinder 97 is also visible.
- the pivot part axis 29 is mounted.
- FIG. 8 also shows a bearing plate 111 in which the feed axis 15 and an axis 68 for the locking device 69 are mounted.

- the recess 112 forms two each other opposite stops 114, 115, for the precise end position at which the pawl the ratchet wheel is pivoted towards or away from the ratchet wheel.
- FIG. 8 shows that the pivot part axis 29 on the side visible in FIG a cheek 113 screwed onto the bearing block 13 is mounted.
- the sequin head 11 is shown in the same view as in Figure 8, however, a fairing 116 of the connecting rod 31 and the circles of motion of FIG Drive rod 23, pivoting part 27 and ratchet lever 39 shown.
- Figure 9 also shows how the sequin head is switched off with the control cylinder 97. Because if the Control cylinder 97 activated during the clutch lever 25 in an upper, the Control cylinder 97 is close position, the piston 99 presses on the sliding surface 93 and disengages clutch lever 25 from drive rod 23. Piston 99 engages in the recess 95 and keeps the clutch lever 25 out of engagement.
- FIG. 10 shows the sequin head 11 in a view from the embroidery base 12.
- the narrow one Formation of the sequin head allows the arrangement of such at every second Embroidery machine needle. If the total width of a sequin head 11 is larger is twice the embroidery width, i.e. Exceeds 54.16 mm, it is still possible to arrange the sequin heads 11 in this grid, as is illustrated in FIG. 11.
- the sequin heads 11 fit into each other like a puzzle piece (FIG. 11), and have the necessary freedom of movement to swivel a sequin head between two neighboring sequin heads.
- the jacket curve 51 can be seen, into which the finger 53 of the lever arm 49 engages. If the clutch lever 25 in the in Figures 7 to 9 shown, is in the control cylinder suspended position, the finger 51 is on the End of the jacket curve 51, which corresponds to the curved course region 55 of the jacket curve faces. Blade 47 therefore exposes the lower opening of channel 107. If the control cylinder 97 receives the signal for releasing the clutch lever 25, the piston 99 snaps into the cylinder under the action of the spring force of the return spring 97. A leg spring (not shown) presses the clutch lever 25 against the in Figure 10 drive rod 23, not shown, and thus couples the sequin head. The Sequin head then pushes one with each drive movement of the drive rod 23 Sequins 61 and shears them immediately after the feed movement from Sequin tape 19 from.
- the control cylinder is controlled as follows: If one is present Control voltage on the control cylinder opens a valve through which the air pressure is released can escape from the cylinder, and a second closes the compressed air supply line. Immediately the piston 99 swings in due to the spring tension of the return spring Control cylinder 97 back into the control cylinder. In the absence of the control voltage close and open the valves vice versa and is therefore under the control cylinder 97 Print. This causes the piston 99 to advance. These functions are guaranteed by a 3/2-way valve.
- FIGS. 12 to 14 show the sequence when sewing on a sequin 61.
- the needle with the front thread 119 sticks into the embroidery base 12 for one preparatory stitch 121.
- the sequin band 19 is wrapped around a sequin 61 advanced ( Figure 12).
- the needle will go through the opening 123 in the sequin 61 pierced (puncture 125) and the sequin 61 immediately from Sequin tape 19 sheared off (line 126, Fig. 13).
- the sequence of movements of the feed mechanism of the sequin head 11 is in the figures 15 to 18 are shown.
- the feed mechanism is driven by the alternating one Drive rod 23, the movement of which with the clutch lever 25 onto the swivel part 27 is transmitted.
- an arm 63 is formed, on which the Drive rod 31 is articulated.
- the pawl tip is by the Movement of the connecting rods 31 in one direction via the ratchet wheel 35 retracted pawl 33 on an outer radius of 12.9mm.
- the pawl (pawl tip) 33 over a narrower radius of 9.64 mm in the other direction around the feed axis 15.
- the pawl is latched in the ratchet wheel 35 ( Figure 16).
- the sequin band 19 is advanced by a sequin 61.
- the Feed is practically completed in the position according to FIG. 17, since it is in one area around the dead center of the movement of the end 57 of the connecting rod 31 this practically no feed movement performed.
- this is Dead center is reached, in which the articulation point between drive rods 31 and Swivel part 27 on a straight line through the swivel part axis 29 and the articulation point between the connecting rod 31 and pawl 33. If the pivot part 27 in the area is pivoted at this apex, the cutting movement of the blade 47 takes place.
- a sequin head 11 takes place for one Schifflistickmaschine an actuation of a feed device 17 for a sequin belt 19 via a pivoting part 27, through which the actuation of a blade 47 for A sequin 61 is sheared off from the sequin band 19.
- This allows for high tours a precise work of the sequin head.
- a crank drive as a drive for the sequin heads 11, an exact synchronization of the work of Sequin head and needle reached.
- a sequin head 11 has one Swivel mechanism on, which allows an inactive sequin head 11 from Swing the embroidery base 12 and the needle 91 away without it from the embroidery machine need to remove.
- the sequin head 11 is shaped so narrow that each second embroidery machine can be equipped with one. This increases the flexibility of working with sequins of different colors.
