The task continues solved with a device having the features according to claim 15. Subclaims 2 to 14 relate to further advantageous embodiments of the inventive method. The subclaims 16 and 17 relate to further advantageous configurations of the device according to the invention.

An advantage of the method according to the invention or the device according to the invention to see that the gripper with respect to the Funding, for example an endless link chain, is rotatably mounted so that that held by the gripper Print product despite the given path of the Link chain a variety of controllable layers with respect to the direction of conveyance. On A printed product is, for example, in a first Section of the conveyor path with a right angle to The main surface is conveyed and conveyed in a second section by rotating the gripper moved to a new location so that the main area faces the Example runs across or parallel to the conveying direction. For example, a printed product can be used during the Convey by an angle of 90 degrees, for example or rotated 180 degrees. The opportunity one Printer product controllable either during conveying Not at all or to rotate by 180 degrees also allows Sorting of printed products so that after such a sorting process, for example arranged adjacent to the conveyor line Printed products each opposite to each other are arranged. For example, printed products also sorted in such a way that ten printed products similar and the next ten Printed products running along the opposite direction Conveyor line are arranged so that groups of similarly arranged printed products formed become.

The operation of the gripper to make a rotation around the A large number of possible ways to bring about the axis of rotation Orders are made, for example, by a Gripper acting gate control, or one on the Guide product acting on the printed product. The gripper can also have a spring element to follow the gripper a turn automatically into one Bring home position. The rotatable Grippers can be designed in different ways Funding must be fixed, for example a traction device, on a chain, or on a loose and individually movable carriage. The cars can also be used a towing connection can be coupled to each other, wherein the towing connection between the individual wagons, such as known for example from EP 0 309 702, by a Elastic shortenable and extendable spring element can be formed.

In an advantageous embodiment of the invention the main surface of a printed product in a parallel to the conveying direction rotated position so that the Outer surface or the inner surface with one Print head can be individually labeled. In a are another advantageous embodiment of the invention the printed products are rotatably controlled in one Conveyor line arranged that they are taken with the Side edge or the main surfaces parallel to Alignment of a processing line aligned and can be given to them.

A printed product is preferably centered in the area one side edge held by a gripper. On However, printed products can also be off-center from one Be held gripper.

The design of a gripper is known to a person skilled in the art known in the art and is therefore not in Described in detail.

Im dargestellten Ausführungsbeispiel hängen die Druckereiprodukte 1 mit in vertikaler Richtung verlaufenden Hauptflächen 2 an den Greifern 3.1a shows a section Z1 of a conveyor path Z a conveyor, which a plurality of Has grippers 3, each printing products 1 hold, and are promoted in the direction of funding F. Each printed product 1 is in the area of a side edge 1a, each approximately in the middle, by a gripper 3 held. The grippers 3 are fixed to a traction device arranged and have a constant and fixed distance S2 on. A conveyor chain 4a serves as a traction device a delivery channel, not shown, is arranged. The Conveyor chain 4a can also be configured such that a changeable distance between the grippers 3 possible is, with a maximum distance through the conveyor chain 4a is specified. Each gripper 3 is also one Rotation axis D rotatable so that the side edge 1a or the main surfaces 2 of one Printing product 1 with respect to the conveying direction F is held rotatable. Point in the example shown the main surfaces 2 of the printed products 1 supplied a position perpendicular to the conveying direction F. In section Z2 of the conveyor line, each one Printed product 1 by rotating the gripper 3 around the Axis of rotation D with constant, mutual Distance S2 rotated to a position in which the main surfaces 2 an acute angle with the conveying direction lock in. During the subsection Z3 none Rotation about the axis of rotation D executed so that the transverse to the conveying direction F printing products 1 in essentially mutually parallel Have main surfaces 2. While going through the Sub-section Z4 are the printed products 1 again in the original, before entering the first Section Z2 assumed position with respect to Direction of conveyance F rotated so that the main surfaces 2 of the Printed products 1 at the end of section Z4 again run perpendicular to the conveying direction F. in the illustrated embodiment hang the Printed products 1 with in the vertical direction main surfaces 2 on the grippers 3.

Fig. 1b shows a section of a conveyor path Z one another conveyor, the gripper 3, the same as in the embodiment according to FIG. 1a, fixed with a Conveyor chain 4a are connected. The printed products 1 are in this embodiment by the gripper 3rd kept essentially upright. The twisting of the printed products 1 moved in the conveying direction F. through two arranged on both sides of the conveyor path Guide means 5, which have an inlet area 5a, supports, the gripper 3 in the illustrated Embodiment an automatically acting may have a resetting element, for example designed in the form of a spring, so that the gripper 3 after passing the guide means 5 that Brings print product 1 back into such a position, that the main surface 2 or the side edge 1a perpendicular or substantially perpendicular to Delivery direction F runs. The twisting can also be done without support from the guide means 5. The guide means 5 can be on one or both sides of the Conveyor chain 4a can be arranged and act on at least one of the two main surfaces 2 of a printed product 1 leading or supportive. This impact is only possible within a section in which the Side edge 1a not perpendicular to the conveying direction F runs. The grippers 3 can also individually movable single car 4c be attached.

Die in Fig. 1a im Teilabschnitt Z3 dargestellten Druckereiprodukte 1 befinden sich zum Beispiel in einer derartigen Lage.2a schematically shows a gripper 3, which is firmly connected to the conveyor chain 4a and in Conveying direction F is moved, the gripper 3 two relative to each other pivotable gripper jaws 3b, 3c for Holding a printed product 1, and wherein the Gripper jaws 3b, 3c rotatably supported about an axis of rotation D. are. The printed product 1 is in the range of Side edge 1a held by the gripper jaws 3b, 3c, wherein the side edge 1a in the view shown runs perpendicular to the viewing plane. The Print product 1 hangs vertically down extending direction on the gripper 3 and has a normal N running perpendicular to the main surface 2, which runs parallel to the conveying direction F. Fig. 2b shows in a plan view the gripper 3 and that Printed product 1 according to FIG. 2a in one order Angle α turned position. The print product 1 or the side edge 1a is about the axis of rotation D rotated so that the conveying direction F and the normal N enclose an acute angle α. The in Fig. 1a in Sub-section Z3 illustrated printing products 1 are in such a situation, for example.

Bei einem unter diesen beiden Bedingungen von einem Greifer 3 gehaltenen Druckereiprodukt 1 würde sich beim Drehen um die Drehachse D keine Veränderung des Winkels α ergeben, beziehungsweise würde keine Veränderung der Ausrichtung der Hauptfläche 2 bezüglich der Förderrichtung F auftreten.2c shows another in a side view Embodiment of a gripper 3 with gripper jaws 3b, 3c, which, in contrast to the exemplary embodiment according to Fig. 2a, the printed product 1 and the Main surface 2 in an inclined to the conveying direction F. Location holds. The axis of rotation D in turn runs in substantially perpendicular to the side edge 1a and essentially perpendicular to the conveying direction F. Die Axis of rotation D could also be transverse to the conveying direction F be aligned. The key is that Printed product 1 in this way from the gripper 3 with respect to the Conveying direction F is held that when turning the Druckereiproduktes 1 about the axis of rotation D, the angle α between the conveying direction F and perpendicular to the Main surface 2 of the printed product 1 extending Normal N is changed. This condition regarding the Angle α is not fulfilled if the main surface is 2 runs parallel to the conveying direction F, respectively if the conveying direction F is perpendicular to the normal N runs. This condition is still not met if the axis of rotation D runs parallel to the conveying direction F. With one under these two conditions of one Gripper 3 held print product 1 would at Rotation around the axis of rotation D does not change the angle α result, or would not change the Alignment of the main surface 2 with respect to the Direction of conveyance F occur.

The printed product 1 can by the gripper 3 in one Many possible positions can be kept, and the axis of rotation D of the gripper 3 can be in a variety of possible Directions with respect to the conveying direction F, such that when the printed product 1 is rotated around the Rotation axis D the angle α between the conveying direction F and the normal N of the printed product 1 changed becomes.

In the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 2c, this could Printed product 1, of course, as in Fig. 2d shown, with respect to the conveying direction F to the front be inclined by the gripper 3 so that the Direction of the main surface 2 and the conveying direction F viewed from the side at an acute angle to each other.

Fig. 2d shows a side view of another Embodiment of a gripper 3, the Conveyor chain 4a, in contrast to the example according to FIG. 2a, a conveying direction F deviating from the horizontal having. The condition also applies to this arrangement, that the printed product 1 by the gripper 3 by one essentially perpendicular to the held side edge 1a extending axis of rotation D is rotatable, the axis of rotation D also with respect to the conveying direction F is aligned that while rotating about the axis of rotation D the angle between the conveying direction F and the perpendicular to the main surface 2 of the printed product 1 normal N is changed. The gripper 3 can have an additional pivot axis D2, which in the view shown perpendicular to the viewing plane runs, for example, to a printed product 1 such as shown regardless of the course of the conveying direction F to keep in an approximately vertical position.

The top view of a flow with printed products 1 according to FIG. 3a shows an embodiment which the grippers 3 are attached to individual carriages 4c, the along the conveyor path Z on a guide rail 4b be moved. The grippers 3 promote in their Basic position of the printed products 1 in a transverse to Direction of conveyance F extending to an inclined position Section Z2 of the conveyor line. While going through of this first subsection Z2 Printing products 1 starting from the basic position in such a position that the main surfaces 2 run parallel to the conveying direction F, respectively that the angle α between the normal N of the main surface 2 and the conveying direction F is 90 degrees. The distance between the single car 4c and thus the individual Grippers 3 can be varied. The at the beginning of the Sub-section Z2 small distance S3 between the Grippers 3 is during the passage of the Section Z2 enlarged so that the in Section Z3 located gripper 3 a larger one Have distance S1, this distance S1 at least is chosen so large that successive Do not touch printed products 1. in the subsequent section Z4, the grippers 3 in the same as in section Z2 Direction of rotation further rotated, at the same time Reducing the mutual distance so that the Printed products 1 after going through the Sections Z2, Z3, Z4 a new one, transverse to Take delivery direction F basic position, and have a mutual distance S4, which in example shown is the same size as the distance S3.

Im dargestellten Ausführungsbeispiel sind die markiert dargestellten Seitenkanten 1b nach dem Durchlaufen des Abschnittes Z1 alle gleichgerichtet angeordnet.3b shows a further top view of a delivery flow of printed products 1, the main surfaces 2 before the Entry into subsection Z1 perpendicular to Direction of conveyance F and aligned in the vertical direction run. One, vertical, with respect to Conveying direction F left side edge 1b of the Printed product 1 is for a better understanding of the marked with a square. The Printed products 1 are during the passage of the Section Z1 around a vertical Rotation axis D rotated by 180 degrees, so that at the end of the Section Z1 the marked side edge 1b seen in conveying direction F the right side edge forms. The section Z1 is in two sections Z2, Z3 divided, the first subsection Z2 Printing products 1 with enlargement of the mutual Distance up to a parallel to the conveying direction F current position of the main surface 2 is rotated and in subsequent subsection Z3 while reducing the mutual distance up to a vertical to Conveying direction F of the position of the main surface 2 is rotated. Are in the illustrated embodiment the marked side edges 1b after the Pass through section Z1 all rectified arranged.

The printed products 1 can be during the Passing through section Z1 also in this way sort that not all printed products 1 rotated be, but only those where the marked illustrated side edge 1b on the with respect to Direction of conveyance F should be brought to the other side. Around this will be achieved at the transition point between the sections Z2, Z3 the direction of rotation of the gripper 3 according to the desired end position of the side edge 1b chosen such that at the end of section Z1 Side edges 1b, for example, alternate left and right are arranged with respect to the conveying direction F, or that For example, groups are formed such that Example three consecutive print products one arranged with respect to the conveying direction F. Have side edge 1b and the next three subsequent print products one left regarding the Have conveying direction F arranged side edge 1b. The funding process shown in Fig. 3b is natural also suitable for the alignment of printed products 1 to control in a targeted manner with respect to the conveying direction F by for example the printed products regarding the location of the Side edge 1b aligned in a random arrangement Section Z2 arrive, the with a sensor Position of the side edges 1b is determined, and the Printing products 1 while going through the Section Z1 are rotated so that the control Side edges 1b in a predeterminable arrangement with respect in the conveying direction F leave the section Z3.

The one with the main surface 2 arriving perpendicular to the direction of conveyance F. Printed products 1 are in a first section Z2 while increasing the mutual distance rotated so that the printed products 1 in the following Section Z3 with a parallel to the conveying direction F extending main surface 2 are arranged. In this The printed products 1 can be located on their outer surface can be labeled with a printhead 6 in order to For example a personalized text or an address applied. A possible continuation of the flow 4a is shown in Fig. 4b, in which Section Z5 with a not shown in detail Lifting device individual product parts 1c, for example single pages, so that both the raised part 1c, as with a sectional view in Fig. 4e shown, as well as the not raised Product part 1d of the printed product 1, as with a Sectional view shown in Fig. 4d, on the Inner surface can be labeled with a writing head 6. Towards the end of section Z5, the raised one Product part 1c brought back into the basic position, and the labeled printed product 1 in one subsequent subsection Z4 rotated by 90 degrees, see above that the printed products 1 with a perpendicular to Conveying direction F main surface 2 or that taken according to FIG. 4a Starting position, further processing or funding processes are feedable. In the variant according to FIG. 4c instead of the product part 1c raised in FIG. 4b Product part 1d raised, the product part 1c in the basic position remains. Otherwise, the procedures as well as from the sectional drawings shown 4f and 4g can be seen, having the same effect. From the Fig. 4d, 4e, 4f, 4g it can be seen that the gripper jaws 3b, 3c of the gripper 3 parallel to the conveying direction F or parallel to the alignment of the main surface 2, the side edge 1a and the sides 1c, 1d run so that the pages 1c, 1d easily and almost completely can be opened.

Fig. 5 shows a further embodiment of a by means of individual carriages 4c along a conveyor rail 4b promoted stream of printed products 1, the Gripper 3 in the first section Z2 one with respect to Transport direction F have a constant distance S1. The Distance becomes curved during the Section Z3 enlarged, so that the gripper 3 in subsequently straight section Z4 a larger distance S2 than the distance S1 exhibit. The grippers 3 are curved during this extending section Z3 so opposite to that Curvature rotated about the axis of rotation D that all in arranged conveyor line Z shown Printed products 1 essentially parallel to each other aligned. The product location is therefore despite maintain a change in the direction of conveyance F.
