Definitions
- the invention relates to a fuse box for motor vehicles with the features of the preamble of claim 1.
- Known fuse boxes for motor vehicles are in everything Usually in the front of the vehicle, for example in the engine compartment or housed in the footwell of the vehicle interior and serve to accommodate electrical fuses for the individual Consumers or for those branching off from the fuse box Harnesses.
- the fuse box or one ends the fuses included in it are over or several cables with one pole of the vehicle battery, mostly that Positive pole, connected.
- the other end of the fuses is connected to an outgoing cable or harness.
- a fuse for the electrical protection of a consumer is just the consumer in question with the outgoing end of the fuse connected.
- Serves the one in question Fuse for electrical protection of an entire cable harness there are usually several consumers on this cable harness connected, with each individual consumer after the Branch from the cable harness again with a separate fuse can be secured.
- strip fuses that do not own housing and to secure the necessary serve high currents.
- pluggable flat fuses mostly for electrical protection serving individual consumers is a substitute such strip security systems usually only by specialist personnel provided because if a strip fuse is destroyed a serious mistake for an entire cable harness in the vehicle electrics is presumed to be excessive Amperages and thus a melting of the melting range of the concerned fuse.
- a facility is known for example from FR-A-513 414.
- the present invention is therefore based on the object to create a fuse box for motor vehicles that also in the In the event of a crash of the vehicle short circuits and thereby safely avoids the dangers caused and furthermore easy and inexpensive to manufacture and in the vehicle is mountable.
- the housing is designed so that the Melting range of the strip fuses by one in the housing provided shielding area is shielded. This gives the advantage that when the fuse melts no melted material to unwanted locations within the Housing arrives.
- the fuses especially the fuses for the electrical Protection of cable harnesses are preferably as Strip fuses are formed, which can be produced very inexpensively are.
- the fuse box after the The invention is in each case the end of several strip fuses with a directly connectable to the pole of the vehicle battery common busbar connected.
- Each strip fuse has two holes for fastening securing by means of a threaded bolt and one Serve mother.
- the end of the strip guard which is the common one Contacted busbar, is attached to a threaded bolt, through a hole in the common track protrudes, and securely fixed by means of a nut. Between backup and nut a spring washer is preferably used, which are used to maintain a specified tightening torque serves for the mother.
- the shielding area at the same time the function of a mechanical coding for the Take over the strip security to be used.
- the function of a mechanical coding for the Take over the strip security is particularly the insertion of fuses with higher Avoid rated currents to such fuse locations that for Fuses with lower rated currents are provided. Because Fuses with larger nominal currents have the same thickness a wider melting range than fuses with lower ones Rated currents.
- the housing can be lateral Openings for routing the relevant cables have substantially the diameter of the relevant Cable. Because cables for carrying higher currents run thicker than cables for lower routing Currents, this also involves the insertion of cables for higher Avoid currents at fuse locations for lower currents. Conversely, the onset of thinner Cables for lower currents at fuse locations for higher ones Currents are immediately noticeable because the cable is not in this case fits tightly with the housing or is not held securely is.
- the stop faces of the housing for the anti-rotation the strip fuses provided in the housing Shielding areas for the fuse's melting zones, the fuse coding areas or the cable lug coding areas on a shelf that can be inserted into the housing educated.
- the threaded bolts can be simple in this case be held captive in the housing that the thread areas the threaded bolt through holes in the mezzanine protrude and the head parts of the threaded bolts between the Housing bottom of the underside of the mezzanine are held.
- the protrudes Threaded bolt for holding the not with the battery pole connected end of the strip security by a spring sleeve, which are held captive in the housing, preferably pressed is.
- the spring sleeve can be used when using an intermediate floor be pressed into a bore provided in this.
- the Spring sleeve has an axial to the threaded part of the Threaded bolt-running sleeve area for pressing and a radially extending collar for resilient support of the Strip security.
- the essentially radial one Collar maintains due to its resilient properties of the original tightening torque for the mother for fastening the relevant cable lug on the threaded bolt or the relevant backup end.
- Threaded bolts and spring sleeves have the advantage that the Fuse box from the manufacturer of the fuse box with already used strip fuses is available, with the Threaded bolts for securing the fuse ends that are not are connected to the battery pole to be protected, not a nut for holding the bolt, the fuse or the spring sleeve must be screwed on.
- Threaded bolts and spring sleeves When installing the fuse box in the vehicle then only need the fuse box on the Battery attached and the cable lugs with the concerned Ends of the strip fuses are connected.
- the housing includes a lid that is water and is moisture-proof connectable to the rest of the housing part.
- the lid can be by means of a snap mechanism or Screws can be connected to the rest of the housing part.
- the fuse box 1 according to the invention shown in FIG. 1 comprises a housing 3, which consists essentially of a bottom part 5 and a cover part 7, which at least the Receiving area 9 (Fig. 2) covers for the fuses.
- the cover part 7 pivotally connected to the base part 5 via joints 11 and via unlockable latching locking devices 13 can be opened and closed. Protrudes into the fuse receiving area 9 one which is preferably L-shaped for reasons of stability Busbar 15, one end of which is directly connected to the relevant one Pole 17 of a battery of a motor vehicle is connected (Fig. 5).
- FIGS. 1, 2 and 5 the serves in the Drawings 1 and 2 shown on the right and enlarged in Fig. 5 Area of fuse box 1 at the same time for covering of the relevant pole, preferably the positive pole, of the battery.
- This area can of course also by means of of a lid can be designed to be openable, so that the relevant one Pole of the battery even without opening the cover part or complete removal of the fuse box 1 is accessible, for example for connecting a starter cable.
- Threaded bolt 21 is provided which, as in the case of the illustrated Embodiment, be designed as a head screw can.
- the threaded bolt 21 projects through with its threaded part each have a hole 23 in the busbar 15.
- the busbar 15 is by means of a part 25 which with the Bottom part 5 of the housing 3 is connected and the busbar 15 overlapping shoulder 27, and by means of an insertable in the bottom part 5 shelf in the housing fixed, with the intermediate floor 29 the busbar 15 also overlaps by means of a region 29a.
- the threaded bolt 21 is designed as a cap screw, whose head in a receiving area 31 between the bottom part 5 and the fixed busbar 15 is added takes place in this way an captive fixation of the threaded bolt 21.
- the strip fuse 19 is after plugging onto the threaded bolt 21 by means of a nut 35 connected to the busbar 15, being between the bottom the nut 35 and the top of the strip fuse 19 a spring washer 37 is arranged.
- the spring washer 37 ensures a permanent due to its resilient property Maintaining a specified tightening torque or a predetermined contact pressure of the strip fuse 19 to the busbar 15.
- the other end of the strip fuses 19 is also by means of a further threaded bolt 39 in the housing 3 held, the threaded bolt 39 in turn as a cap screw is formed, the head in a receiving area 41 in the Bottom part 5 of the housing 3 is added.
- the threaded part of the threaded bolt 39 protrudes through a hole 43 in the intermediate floor 29, whereby the bolt 39 in turn captive in the housing 3 is fixed.
- the intermediate floor 29 can, for example, do this be snapped connected to the bottom part 5.
- the intermediate floor 29 can also be fixed connected to the bottom part 5, for example glued.
- the tightness of the housing when closed Lids can be guaranteed more easily.

- Cable lug attachable in which also a corresponding Bore or recess is provided.
- the cable lug can by means of a mother shown in dashed lines in the figures 47 mechanically fixed and electrical with the strip security 19 are connected.
- the collar of the spring sleeve 45 also serves its resilient properties to maintain a specified tightening torque or for maintenance a predetermined contact pressure of the cable lug to the strip fuse 19th
- Strip fuses 19 On the intermediate floor 29 are the Strip fuses 19 in turn provided lateral walls 61, which as stop surfaces for the sides of the strip fuse 19 serve. This will twist and Twist the strip retainers when tightening the nuts 35 or 47 avoided.
- the walls also serve simultaneously for shielding the melting areas 19a of the strip fuses 19. As a result, undesirable influences on Melt a strip fuse 19 on the other fuses and connecting elements avoided.
- each coding area 49 is designed differently, so that only the cable lug with each essentially complementary outer contour in the relevant coding area 49 can be used. This way, a wrong one Assignment of a cable lug to the associated strip fuse 19 avoided.
- 29 walls can be on the intermediate floor 51 are provided, which the coding areas 49 laterally limit and determine the respective contour.
- the cable contacted with the respective cable lug is through each have an opening 53 in the side wall of the housing 3 led to the outside.
- the diameter of each opening 53 corresponds the diameter of the respective cable. Also this can in turn cause additional coding become.
