Abstract

The frame, designed to support a swing or other apparatus, consists of a cross-beam (2) parallel to the supporting surface, joined to angled supports (3) at each end. Each of the end supports can be, for example, made from round-section tubing, having its upper end deformed into an inverted T-section, cut at an angle to fit against the cross-beam. The vertical branch or the T is in the form of a rib, while its crosspiece presses against the lower thrust face of the cross-beam. The two ends of the cross-beam are flattened to form intermediate and end sections, the latter being rectangular in shape to receive the inverted T-section ends of the supports.

Description

The invention relates to a gantry intended to support approved and other accessories such as swings.

Conventionally, such a gantry comprises a beam which, substantially parallel to the ground or other bearing plane of the gantry, is supported at each end by uprights which are generally associated with it in a removable manner by fixing means.

Conventionally, to obtain the stability of the gantry, the uprights are organized two by two to form a compass whose branches are located on either side of a vertical plane and whose opening determines in particular the importance of the polygon lift and therefore partly the stability of the gantry.

Stability also depends on the quality of the connection between the uprights and the beam.

To date, a gantry is known (FR-A-1,264,655) whose beam carries at its ends a rod, for example, threaded which is coaxial with the longitudinal axis of said beam, which threaded rod is engaged in perforations carried for this purpose by each of the branches constituting the compasses forming the uprights.

These branches are formed in flat bars whose main faces are at least substantially perpendicular to the axis of the beam.

Such an assembly does not offer great stability to the gantry in the plane of the uprights and no stability in a direction substantially perpendicular to this plane even if a threaded rod and uprights of very large section are provided.

This assembly also requires providing separate means for locking the opening of the compasses.

A gantry is also known (FR-A-2.2O1.728) whose branches of the uprights are tubular, in particular of circular section and are, at their ends, locally deformed to each constitute a flat tab which rests on opposite zones and substantially flat at the ends of the beam.

The assembly is held firmly by means of application such as bolts.

In these known gantries, to form the flat leg, one end of each upright is crushed over a predetermined length and this substantially flat leg is, by folding, then oriented in a secant direction to the longitudinal axis of the upright so that the longitudinal axis of the lug and that of the tube form between them an angle complementary to the half-angle of the compass so that during mounting the two lugs are substantially vertical to form the compass with the other upright.

If this assembly system makes it possible to quickly assemble the various elements, unfortunately, the deformation by complete crushing of the legs of these uprights means that they are only rigid in their plane.

This system therefore weakens the rigidity of the gantry, all the more for the existence of the fold created for the orientation of the legs of the uprights.

This way of deforming the uprights has the effect of creating localized stresses which are the source of failure initiation.

In the case where the beam is tubular and of circular section, the ends of this beam are also generally flattened along the median plane of the beam to form two bearing surfaces for the legs that the uprights have.

In known solutions, the end of the beam is deformed symmetrically with respect to the median and horizontal plane of the beam.

The deformed section consists of two successive so-called terminal and intermediate zones according to their position on the longitudinal axis of the beam.

Viewed in a direction perpendicular to the median and vertical plane of the beam, the terminal area has a rectangle shape, the upper edge of which is located above the upper generatrix of the beam and the lower edge of which is located below the lower generatrix of the upright. .

One of the results that the invention aims to obtain is a gantry of the aforementioned type which is rigid enough to withstand normal use.

To this end, it relates to such a gantry particularly characterized in that the deformed section of the elongate element constituting an amount:
  • on the one hand, present, seen in projection in a direction substantially parallel to the longitudinal axis of the elongate element, a section substantially in inverted tee with:
    • . the vertical branch of the inverted tee which constitutes a rib whose apex extends along a generatrix of the intact envelope of the upright,
    • . the lower edge of the horizontal branch of the inverted tee which defines a generator for the support face of the elongate element, which support face is inclined on the median plane of said elongate element by a predetermined value,
    • . the areas of the horizontal branch of the inverted tee which surround the rib form bearing surfaces for the means of applying the amount of the beam and,
  • on the other hand, has its rib which remains at least substantially entirely housed in the volume defined by the external generator of the rest of the elongate element.

  • figure 1 : une vue latérale d'un portique,
The invention will be clearly understood with the aid of the description below given by way of nonlimiting example with regard to the attached drawing which schematically represents:
  • Figure 1: a side view of a gantry,
  • FIG. 2: a top view of FIG. 1,
  • FIG. 3: a view of the end of a beam,
  • Figure 4: a view of the end of an upright.

Referring to the drawing, we see:
  • that the gantry 1, which is placed on the ground or another support plane, comprises a beam 2 parallel to the support plane and
  • that this beam 2 is supported at each end by uprights 3 with which it is associated, for example removably, by fixing means 4.

Conventionally, to obtain the stability of the gantry, the uprights possibly consist of several elongated elements, organized to form at each end of the beam a compass whose opening determines the stability of the gantry.

The elongate elements of the uprights are tubular, in particular of circular section, and are locally deformed at their ends 5 to form a support face 6 which is substantially planar and inclined on the longitudinal and median plane of the upright.

The ends of the beam include two receiving faces 7 for the bearing faces 6 of the uprights 3.

These reception faces 7 are consecutive to the geometric shape of the section of this beam or obtained by deformation of the ends 8.

Les montants et la poutre comprennent des perforations au travers desquelles on engage la tige d'un boulon (non représenté).The uprights and the beam include perforations through which one engages the rod of a bolt (not shown).

Instead of completely flattening and folding the end sections 5 of the elongate elements of the uprights to form the bearing faces 6, according to the invention, the deformed section of the elongate element constituting an upright:
  • on the one hand, present, seen in projection in a direction substantially parallel to the longitudinal axis of the elongate element, a section substantially in inverted Tee with:
    • . the vertical branch 9 of the inverted tee which constitutes a rib 9 whose apex extends along a generatrix of the intact envelope of the upright,
    • . the lower edge 11 of the horizontal branch of the inverted tee which defines a generator for the support face 6 of the elongate element, which support face 6 is inclined on the median plane M of said elongate element by a predetermined value ,
    • . the zones 12 of the horizontal branch of the inverted tee which surround the rib 9 form bearing surfaces for the means of applying the amount of the beam and,
  • on the other hand, has its rib 9 which remains at least substantially entirely housed in the volume defined by the external generator 10 of the rest of the elongate element.

When the beam 2 must be deformed at its ends 8 to form reception faces for the bearing faces of the elongated elements of the uprights, instead of its ends simply, by total flattening, deformed symmetrically relative to the median plane P and horizontal of the beam, according to the invention, the extreme sections of this beam are deformed so that after flattening, these sections comprise two successive deformed zones 13, 14 called intermediate 13 and terminal 14 which, seen in projection according to a direction perpendicular to the vertical median plane Z of the beam, have:
  • for the terminal zone 14, substantially the shape of a rectangular quadrilateral with its edge 14a said to be upper at least substantially aligned with the so-called upper generatrix of the beam and its lower edge 14b which is located clearly below the lower generatrix of the beam , and
  • for the intermediate zone 13, the shape of a rectangular trapezoid with its non-parallel sides which:
    • . for one 13a is horizontal and collinear at the upper edge of the rectangle of the terminal part and at the upper generatrix of the beam and,
    • . for the other 13b is inclined on the horizontal and makes the connection between the lower generatrix of the beam and the lower edge 14a of the rectangle of the terminal part 14.

This asymmetrical deformation of the beam contributes to increasing the resistance of the gantry in the transverse direction by creating a square.

The end zone is flattened and the rectangular faces constitute the reception faces on which the bearing faces formed at the top of the elongated elements of the uprights apply.

Thanks in particular to the rib and the removal of the fold which previously modified the orientation of the bearing face, a gantry is obtained which is much more rigid than those known to date.

There are no longer the localized stresses that this fold could cause.

Also, the distribution of the application means on either side of the rib 9 contributes to better stability of the assembly or eliminates the slight rotation of the amount which existed before.
