Definitions

  • the invention relates to a hand-movable trolley, with a chassis that carries at least one swivel castor on its front and two swivel castors on its rear, each swivel castor being equipped with a wheel fork that has a wheel that can be rotated about a horizontal axis, and each wheel fork is rotatably connected about a vertical axis to a bearing body which is associated with each steering roller and is intended to be fastened to the transport trolley, with either the at least one steering roller arranged on the front or the rear of the chassis being able to be influenced by a releasable steering lock, and for this purpose each this castors is equipped with a locking mechanism arranged on the wheel fork, having a locking part and these locking mechanisms react to the changing running direction of the wheels and each locking part is releasably locked in a case assigned to it when the wheels move in the sliding direction d moving the trolley (see for example EP-A-0 424 234).
  • the swivel castors previously available on the market are also based on the design as described in DE-23 33 199 C3.
  • the bearing body at the upper end has been further developed into a flange in the form of a vertically standing plate and is equipped with an opening provided for receiving a screwing means, so that the swivel castors are screwed onto the chassis of the trolley by means of the flange to let.
  • the requirement of a flange-like bearing body naturally reduces the possibility of attaching such castors to a wide variety of transport vehicles to a very small extent.
  • the screw-on points provided for the swivel castors are designed so that the flange of the bearing body of the swivel castor just described cannot be attached to the screw-on points at all.
  • This is a decisive disadvantage, since by far not all known transport vehicles are equipped with the steering castors just described, but rather are often equipped with steering castors that have no steering locks.
  • the object of the invention is to further develop a generic transport carriage so that the disadvantages just mentioned are avoided.
  • each trap is releasably supported on the chassis as an independent part and secured against rotation.
  • the advantage of the invention is that the screwing points provided for the castors on the trolley can remain unchanged. Since the traps are only relatively small components anyway, it is more cost-effective to adapt the traps to the different screw-on points than, conversely, to adapt the screw-on points, which are usually designed as welded connections, to a single type of trap in a cost-intensive manner.
  • the traps are provided as sheet metal parts which are shaped or designed in such a way that they can be placed positively above the castors and secured against rotation. They are advantageously fixed in place on the chassis using the same fastening means that are required for screwing on the castors.
  • Another preferred embodiment proposes to manufacture the traps from elastic plastic and to design them so that they can also function as shock absorbers.
  • the traps expediently as hood-shaped, cylindrical parts which, made of metallic material, are supported on the bearing body of the castors and encompass the bearing housing of the castors from above.
  • This makes it possible to keep the wall thickness of the traps very small, so that the latching parts only have to travel very short distances when they are snapped in and out.
  • This also reduces the taxiways of the castors, with the result that the latching parts need to be pushed or pulled only slightly, almost imperceptibly, to snap the latching parts out of the traps.
  • Handling and controlling the trolley is very convenient.
  • An independent shock ring can also be placed on each case.
  • the transport trolley 1 shown in FIG. 1 as a typical shopping trolley represents all possible hand-movable transport trolleys 1 which, in the sense of the innovation, can be classified as generic.
  • Transport trolleys 1 with or without baskets 2, containers or the like are also conceivable, as are pure platform trolleys or luggage trolleys.
  • all of these transport carriages 1 have a chassis 3 which is equipped with at least one steering roller 15 on its front side 4 and with two steering rollers 15 on its rear side 5.
  • the chassis 3 are usually made of tubes, as shown, or, as indicated in Fig. 2, of wire.
  • Each swivel castor 15 - see the following figures - is equipped in a known manner with a wheel fork 16 which can be pivoted about a vertical axis 25 and carries a wheel 18.
  • Each wheel fork 16, see FIG. 2 is rotatably connected to a bearing body 32 by means of at least one bearing element 26, for example with a deep groove ball bearing 27 or with individual balls 30.
  • the bearing body 32 is intended for screwing onto the chassis 3 of the transport carriage 1. In this position, the bearing body 32 is stationary with the chassis 3 connected.
  • the deep groove ball bearing 27 can also be considered as a bearing body 32 at the same time.
  • Typical examples of such castors 15 are listed in EP-A-0 424 234.
  • either the at least one front or the rear steering rollers 15 can be influenced by releasable steering locks 80, as is also apparent from EP-A-0 370 716.
  • FIG. 2 shows one of the two side sections 6 of the chassis 3 of a transport vehicle 1 located on the rear side 5.
  • the position number 7 shows two wires which are arranged horizontally and at a distance and are congruent in the drawing, which one of the two side frames belong to the chassis 3.
  • the wires 7 are separated by two vertical bars 8, the meaning of which is not described in detail.
  • the drawing shows the steering roller 15 partially cut.
  • a wheel fork 16 carries a wheel 18 which is rotatably mounted on a horizontal axis 20.
  • the fork legs 17 of the wheel fork 16 open upwards into a cylindrical bearing housing 21 which houses a deep groove ball bearing 27.
  • the deep groove ball bearing 27 is penetrated by a screw 35, which is supported with its head 37 on the upper side 9 of the wires 7, while a nut 38 screwed on at the lower end of the screw 35 ensures the fixed arrangement of the steering roller 15 on the chassis 3.
  • the inner ring 28 of the deep groove ball bearing 27, which projects beyond the upper limit 22 of the bearing housing 21, is to be regarded as a bearing body 32 which, when the steering roller 15 is screwed on, is pressed against the chassis 3 in a stationary manner, that is to say not rotatably.
  • the entire deep groove ball bearing 27 can also be regarded as a bearing body 32.
  • a case 40 designed as a sheet metal part is clamped, which at the same time also functions as an independent part as a washer for the steering roller 15 .
  • the trap 40 - see also FIG. 3 - has a first horizontal section 41 which is provided with an opening 42 in the center.
  • the shaft 36 of the screw 35 passes through the opening 42.
  • the first section 41 has two upwardly directed legs 43 on both sides, which in the assembled state of the latch 40 nestle against the outer sides 10 of the two wires 7, so that the latch 40 cannot be rotated about the vertical axis 25 (swivel axis) of the steering roller 15.
  • An example of a vertical section 44 leads downward from the first horizontal section 41 to a second horizontal section 45 which has an incision 46 at its end which extends parallel to the longitudinal direction of the transport carriage 1.
  • the second horizontal section 45 is therefore lower than the first horizontal section 41 of the latch 40. Accordingly, the incision 46 is also arranged lower than the horizontal section 41.
  • a projection 24 extends in the opposite direction the sliding direction of the transport carriage 1.
  • the projection 24 has an elongated opening 23 through which the cylindrical shaft 72 of a latching part 71 protrudes upward and the catch 40 is latched in the notch 46.
  • the latching part 71 With its lower end 73, which is, for example, disk-shaped, the latching part 71 lies on the tread 19 of the wheel 18.
  • the locking part 71 and the projection 24 with the opening 23 form a locking mechanism 70.
  • the steering roller 15 is shown in the trailing position.
  • the wheel 18 (arrow) rolling in the sliding direction of the transport carriage 1 pulls the latching part 71 in the direction of the bearing housing 21.
  • the shaft 72 of the latching part 71 is latched into the incision 46 in the case 40.
  • the swivel castor 15 cannot be pivoted about the vertical axis 25. If the wheel 18 rotates back, the shaft 72 of the latching part 71 moves out of the incision 46. Now the castor 15 can pivot freely.
  • the latching part 71, the opening 23 and the latch 40 form a releasable steering lock 80 under the action of the wheel 18.
  • FIG. 3 shows the trap 40 as used in the example according to FIG. 2.
  • the upward-pointing legs 43 and the opening 42 for the positive and non-rotatable contact of the latch 40 on the chassis 3 can be seen.
  • the incision 46 designed as an open elongated hole can be seen on the second horizontal section 45.
  • the longitudinal extent of the incision 46 runs parallel to the longitudinal extent of the transport carriage 1.
  • the vertical central axis 47 of the incision 46 and the vertical central axis 48 of the opening 42 overlap.
  • castors 15 of the type used e.g. are listed in EP 0 424 234 without the cases 40 described in FIGS. 2 and 3 having to be changed. It does not matter that, in contrast to the steering rollers 15 described above, the bearing bodies 32 shown in the aforementioned European patent specification are not covered by the wheel forks 16 from above. With these castors 15, too, the latches 40 can be attached to the chassis 3 in the same manner that overlaps the castors 15.
  • the swivel castors 15 equipped with steering locks 80 can also be attached to the front 4 of the trolleys 1, the associated latches 40 naturally also having to be arranged correspondingly on the front 4 of the trolleys 1.
  • FIGS. 4 and 5 show the rear end of one of the two longitudinal spars 11, which form part of the chassis 3 of the transport carriage 1.
  • Each rear end of the longitudinal spars 11 ends with a plate 12.
  • a cooperating with the locking mechanism 70 castor 15 screwed so that the fork 16 of the castor 15 can be pivoted about the vertical axis 25.
  • the steering roller 15 shown in the drawing corresponds approximately to that steering roller, as is known from DE-PS 25 43 211.5. A detailed description of this castor 15 is therefore unnecessary.
