  • This stop is designed as an angle lever which can be pivoted about a substantially horizontal axis, the force exerted by the active leaf on this stop forming an acute angle with the plane in which the stop moves. The essential function of the system is therefore very susceptible to failure. Abstract

Closing-sequence controlling and locking device for two-wing doors, especially fire doors, having an automatic closing device, in which there is a stop for the gangway wing which projects into the pivoting path of the gangway wing when the standing wing is not in the closed position and which is connected to a contact element for the standing wing and is adjustable by the latter, the stop being movable out of the pivoting path of the gangway wing and this being pivotable into the closed position. To avoid high adjusting forces in a connecting element of the stop and contact element and to prevent inadmissible manipulations and for an automatically possible locking of the standing wing in the closed position when the gangway wing is in the closed position, the stop is formed by a lever 5 pivotable essentially in the door plane, the contact element 6 is rotatable about an axis essentially parallel to the door plane and is provided with a recess 7 for a part 8' of the standing wing 8, and the lever 5 is connected to the contact element 6 via a preferably flexible element 9 extending within the upper horizontal beam 1 or the door jamb 2. <IMAGE>

Description

The invention relates to a closing sequence control and locking device for double-leaf doors, in particular fire doors, which are equipped with an automatic closing device in which a stop is provided for the active leaf, which protrudes into the pivoting path of the active leaf when the standing leaf is outside the closed position and preferably via a flexible element connected to a contact element to the standing wing and adjustable by the latter, whereby the stop can be moved out of the pivoting path of the active wing and this can be pivoted into the closed position.

For constructional, architectural or other reasons, it is often necessary to provide two instead of a single door leaf if the width of the door opening is to exceed a certain dimension. Often with such doors only one wing is operated during normal operation, which is called the active wing. This is usually provided with an automatic locking device that automatically returns the active leaf to the closed position after it has been opened manually. In special emergency situations, for example in the event of a fire, both wings can be opened. In order to prevent or slow down the smoke gases or flames from spreading to other rooms after they have passed, both door leaves must be returned to the closed position immediately. It is particularly important here that the pivoting of the two wings takes place in a certain order. The reason for this is that the two door leaves are formed at their contact edges with overlapping stop folds. The standing leaf normally remaining in the closed position, the stop fold of which lies in the closing direction of the door in front of the stop fold of the active leaf, must first assume its closed position, after which the active leaf can then be pivoted into the closed position. Otherwise the door is not properly closed and no fire compartment is guaranteed.

Another variant which is often provided for is that double-leaf doors are generally kept in their open position and the holding device releases both door leaves only in the event of a fire. Thereafter, they are moved into their closed position under the action of the locking device panned. The sequence described above is also required to properly close the door.

A locking sequence controller is known from US Pat. No. 4,146,994, in which an adjusting rail is formed in the region of the pivoting path of the standing leaf with an inclined surface on which an edge of the standing leaf runs. As a result, the adjusting rail is displaced, whereupon the active leaf previously held in the open position by a stop on this adjusting rail also reaches its closed position. However, this construction requires very high frictional forces and an unfavorable introduction of the actuating forces into the rail, so that their functionality is questioned. In addition, the rail provided above the door leaf is freely accessible, which creates the risk of unauthorized manipulation, which can also impair the function.

In the construction according to AT-PS 377 314, the rail is preferably arranged in the joint standing between the door leaves and the horizontal bar of the door frame and is formed in the region of the outer lateral end faces of the standing leaf each with a downwardly angled bend. When the standing wing is pivoted, this bend comes into contact with this bend and thereby moves the rail together with the stop which previously held the active wing in the open position. But the rail of this construction is also accessible, albeit to a greater extent, from the outside, which means that manipulation is not yet completely ruled out. In addition, the opening of the active leaf against the stop creates deforming forces which can adversely affect the smooth displacement of the rail and thus the safe functioning of the closing sequence control device.

From EP-PS 166 859 a device for controlling the closing sequence of hydraulic floor door closers is known. This device is therefore limited to a special system of closing devices for the door leaves and has a relatively complex construction due to the necessary valve units and the construction associated therewith. Said valve unit influences the flow of the hydraulic fluid of the active leaf during the closing process from one side of the damping piston to the other side of this piston. It is controlled by an actuating unit from the standing wing, wherein, for example, a lever pivoted from the standing wing is coupled to said valve unit via a mechanical, hydraulic or electrical control connection. As a further variant for the actuating element, a disk is specified which is connected in a rotationally fixed manner directly to the axis of the door closer of the standing leaf, and has a partially annular elongated hole in which a Bowden cable is slidably mounted as a mechanical control connection for the valve unit. In contrast to the constructions described above, in the hydraulic variant there is no mechanical stop for the active leaf, and the control of the valve device regulating the closing sequence is carried out by an element which is connected in a rotationally fixed manner to the standing leaf or an actuating lever which is located in the vicinity of the hinge axis of the standing leaf located.

This is arranged at a height between the two door hinges and its switching linkage, ie the connecting element with a contact element to the standing wing arranged in or on the upper door beam or door frame near the end face of the standing wing facing the active leaf, is from the top of the door via a corner drive led to this side stop. The contact element can be rotated about an axis lying essentially parallel to the hinge axis by the standing wing, which also causes the movement of the stop. This stop is designed as an angle lever which can be pivoted about a substantially horizontal axis, the force exerted by the active leaf on this stop forming an acute angle with the plane in which the stop moves. Due to contamination of the bearing of the lever, for example, or tightness of the connecting element, there is construction in line with the danger that the stop will not swing out completely into its end position and thus remains easily operable by the active leaf and can therefore be closed, even if the standing leaf is not closed. The essential function of the system is therefore very susceptible to failure. This vulnerability is also due to the fact that, in the known construction, very long distances have to be overcome for the connecting element between the stop and the contact element and at least one deflection point with increased friction is present.

The object underlying the invention is to provide a closing sequence control and locking device in which the disadvantages of previous designs are avoided and which are universal with relatively little effort, i. H. are applicable to all locking system systems.

Another object was to design the device in such a way that, in addition to the closing sequence control, an automatic locking of the standing leaf in the closed position is possible with the active leaf in the closed position.

To achieve the first object, the combination of features of claim 1 is provided according to the invention.

The further object is advantageously achieved by the features of claim 4.

In Fig. 1 the area of the upper corner of the door frame on the side of the active leaf of a double-leaf door is shown. With 1 the upper horizontal bar of the door structure is designated. The door frame 2 delimits the door opening all around and between the door frame 2 and the active leaf 3 there is a small space, the frame lights 4, which is covered by the door rebate. According to the invention, the stop on which the active leaf 3 runs as long as the standing leaf (not shown in FIG. 1) is in the open position is formed by a lever 5 which can be pivoted substantially in the plane of the door. The position of the lever 5 blocking the active leaf is shown with solid lines, while the lever 5 in the position shown in broken lines is removed from the pivoting path of the active leaf 3, whereby this can preferably be brought into its closed position by an automatic closing device, not shown.

Instead of the lever 5 shown in Fig. 1 can also serve as a stop for the Active leaf 3, a hydraulic cylinder can be provided, which moves a stop element into the pivoting path of the active leaf 3 by means of a linear lifting movement. The pivoting in and out of the lever 5 or the lifting movement of the hydraulic cylinder is controlled by connecting the parts mentioned with a contact element 6 which interacts with the standing leaf 8. In principle, any stop elements that can be swiveled in, pushed in, screwed in or otherwise introduced can be provided.

So that the standing wing can be moved past the active leaf 3 into its closed position, the active leaf 3 must be kept open in a certain position. This position depends on the dimensions of the rebate on the respective door leaf, so that its exact position can vary to a certain extent. Relatively wide open and thus functionally reliable stopping positions for the active leaf 3 result if the lever 5 is arranged in the vicinity of the door hinges of the active leaf 3 and at least part 5 'of the lever 5 can be pivoted into the upper frame clearing 4 of the door from above.

The pivoting in and out of the lever 5 or the stroke movement of the cylinder etc. is controlled by the contact element 6 shown in FIG. 2, which can be rotated about an axis A lying essentially parallel to the door plane and with a recess 7 for part of the standing leaf 8 is provided. For this purpose, the lever 5 is connected to the contact element 6 via a preferably flexible element 9 which runs inside the upper beam 1 or the door frame 2.

As shown in the illustrated exemplary embodiments, this element 9 can be entirely mechanical, i. H. for example as a cable, chain or the like. However, a hydraulic connecting line between contact element 6 and lever 5, or hydraulic cylinder, would also be conceivable. Just like a combination of these connection types.

Thus, when the standing leaf 8 is moved from its open position into the closed position, preferably also effected by an automatic closing device, the change in position of the contact element 6 is communicated to the lever 5 via the connecting element 9, which is then thereupon also changes its position. According to a further feature, the contact element 6 is arranged in or on the upper door beam in the vicinity of the end face of the standing leaf 8 facing the active leaf 3. As a result, the contact element 6 is arranged in an area in which the standing wing 8 travels the greatest distance when pivoted by a certain angle and can therefore deflect the contact element 6 by the relatively largest amplitudes.

The part of the standing wing 8 which comes into contact with the contact element 6 is preferably designed as a pin 8 'projecting upward from the standing wing 8.

Zugfeder in Richtung der Bewegung des Kontaktelementes 6 oder des Hebels 5 ausgeführt sein, vorzugsweise ist eine Druckfeder 12 zwischen Hebel 5 und Verbindungselement 9 angeordnet (siehe Fig. 1).Spring elements can advantageously be provided in order to pivot the lever 5 or the hydraulic cylinder and / or to hold them in the pivoted-out position and the contact element 6 in a rotational position in which its recess 7 is directed towards the pivoted-out standing leaf 8. The spring elements can be designed as torsion springs about the axes of rotation or pivoting A, B of the contact element 6 or the lever 5 or as a compression or tension spring in the direction of the movement of the contact element 6 or the lever 5, preferably a compression spring 12 arranged between lever 5 and connecting element 9 (see Fig. 1).

If, by pivoting out the contact element 6, which is shown in broken lines in FIG. 2, the connecting element 9 is yielded in the direction of the lever 5, this need not be sufficient to bring the lever 5 into its pivoted-out position. It may therefore be necessary, in order to overcome the frictional forces, for example, to provide a torsion spring on the pivot axis B of the lever 5 which pivots out the lever 5 when the connecting element 9 yields.

The torsion spring provided in the contact element 6 causes the contact element 6 to remain in a position even under external influences, such as human manipulation, wind or building vibrations, or to be pressed back into the position in which, for example, the bolt 8 ′ is inserted into the recess 7 of the contact element 6 can be inserted if the Standing leaf 8 is brought into the closed position. Otherwise, said bolt 8 'could otherwise run onto the contact element 6 outside the recess 7, as a result of which a complete and correct closing of the standing leaf 8 and thus also of the active leaf 3 is prevented.

However, if the flexible connecting element 9 is suitable for transmitting tensile and compressive forces, the spring element, which is in connection with the lever 5, is unnecessary. Such a connecting element 9 can preferably be designed as a Bowden cable, if necessary also as a metal rod or hydraulic connecting line.

The variant, in which a spring is provided at the stop 5 for the active leaf 3 and the contact element 6, has been found to be particularly advantageous during construction with the door already in use with the closing sequence control and locking device according to the invention. In order to avoid damage to the stop element 5 or the active leaf due to carelessness, the stop element is fixed in its pivoted-in position. So that both door leaves can now be closed correctly, the contact element 6 must be held in a position when the door leaf is open, for example that the bolt 8 'of the standing leaf 8 can be inserted into the recess 7 of the contact element 6. This function is brought about by the spring provided in the contact element 6. After completion of construction during normal operation of the door with the device according to the invention, the variant with two springs has the advantage that if one spring is damaged, the function of the door can be maintained and the springs themselves can be of smaller dimensions.

Like said connecting element 9, the lever 5 can advantageously also be largely arranged inside the upper door beam 1 or the upper part of the door frame 2.

In this way, all inadmissible manipulations that could impair the operational safety of the closing sequence control device are prevented.

According to a further feature of the invention, the contact element 6, which has not been described in more detail so far, is advantageously designed as a disc, the recess 7 of which engages behind a part 8 'of the standing leaf 8 in the closed state in the swiveling direction of the standing leaf, and it is further provided that the contact element 6 is removed from the active leaf 3 is blocked as soon as the latter is in the closed position.

For this purpose, the contact element 6 preferably has, on its side facing the active leaf 3, a stop surface 10 for a part 3 'of the active leaf 3, on which stop surface 10 said part 3' of the active leaf 3 comes to rest when the door is closed and thus rotates of the contact element 6 prevented.

Analogous to the bolt 8 'of the standing wing 8, said part 3' of the active leaf 3, which comes into contact with the contact element 6, is designed as a pin projecting upwards from the active leaf 3.

In Fig. 2 an embodiment of such a disc 6 is shown. This is preferably provided with an axis of rotation D which is arranged parallel to the pivot axis of the standing leaf 8 and which is preferably outside the center of the disc 6. In a particularly advantageous manner, the axis of rotation D of the disc 6 lies with respect to the center on the side of the disc 6 opposite the pivoting direction of the door leaf. This design has the effect that the closing action caused by the part 3 'of the leaf 3 against the stop surface 10 of the Disc 6 is exercised, reinforced by leverage. In addition, this results in better holding effects that the stop surface 10 not only executes a substantially circular pivoting movement, as in the case of a central axis of rotation, but that the stop surface 10 is also pressed in the direction of the part 3 'when the standing leaf 8 is actuated in the swivel-out direction and thereby the bolt 8 'presses the recess 7 of the disk 6 in the pivoting direction. The part 3 'of the active leaf 3 prevents this movement of the stop surface 10 when the active leaf 3 is closed, so that even with very strong force on the standing leaf 8 in the pivoting direction, the latter remains locked when the active leaf 3 is closed.

The locking effect just described by the contact element 6 is further improved in the embodiment shown in FIG. 4 for the disk 6. In this variant, too, the axis of rotation D of the pane 6 lies outside of its center on the side opposite the pivoting direction. The stop surface 10 of the pane 6 is preferably flat and is oriented normally to the door plane. The surface 10 can, however, also be designed obliquely and in the swivel direction of the door leaf 3 run towards the door center plane or the door center rebate (shown in dashed lines in FIG. 4 and labeled 10 '). Advantageously, the part 3 'of the active leaf 3 which comes into contact with the stop surface has a surface 3'a which corresponds to this surface, preferably also a flat surface, so that the largest possible contact surface for transmitting the fixing effect of the disc 6 is given by the part 3' .

In order to ensure the locking effect even with simultaneous application of force in the pivoting direction on both door leaves 3, 8, in the advantageous variant shown in FIG. 4, part 3 'is provided with an acute-angled edge 3b and the pane 6 is provided with a corresponding recess 6b. The edge 3'b of the part 3 'points in the pivoting direction and towards the door center plane and is formed by a side of the part 3' which forms an acute angle with the flat surface 3'a. The recess 6b of the disk 6 is preferably realized as a cutout with the same angle between its sides as the angle of the edge 3'b. The recess 6b is provided with respect to the stop surface 10 at its end located in the pivoting direction. A slight offset of said recess 6b in the direction of the door center or the door center rebate is also favorable.

The function of the system of edge 3'b and recess 6b is that with simultaneous and in the same direction swiveling movement of both door leaves 3, 8, the bolt 8 'of the standing leaf rotates the disk 6 such that the recess 6b in the pivoting path of the part 3 'of the active leaf 3 is pivoted. As a result, the acute-angled edge 3'b engages in the recess 6b and prevents further pivoting out of the active leaf 3. At the same time, however, further rotation of the disc 6 about the axis of rotation D is prevented, so that the standing leaf 8 is also blocked is because the bolt 8 'has not yet emerged from the recess 7 of the disc 6. As a result, unauthorized pressing of the door with the device according to the invention by persons and also due to external influences during fires and the like. made impossible so that the greatest possible security is guaranteed.

The arrangement of the recess 7 of the pane 6 and of the parts 3 'and 8' of the door leaves 3, 8 in the closed position in a plane parallel to the axis of rotation D of the pane 6 and seen from the swiveling direction, in front of this plane, has in addition to that already above cited advantageous effect on the locking additionally the advantage that the disc 6 does not have to be rotated by an excessively large angular range in order to release the bolt 8 'from its recess 7. This advantage can be further increased if the axis of rotation D is advantageously outside the door center plane or the door center rebate lies on the side of the standing leaf 8 and is closer to the recess 7. On the other hand, this also makes the lever arm of the disk 6 on the side of the active leaf 3 larger than that on the side of the standing leaf, which also improves the holding and locking effect. This feature allows that in conjunction with the outer contours of the pane 6 shown in FIG. 4, even when rotated, it does not protrude beyond a certain minimum width of the door beam, thereby permitting the installation of the closing sequence control and locking device according to the invention even with relatively narrow door frames.

In order to keep inadmissible manipulations as far as possible even with the contact element 6, it is provided according to a further feature that the underside of the disc 6 is at most flush with the underside of the upper part of the door frame 2.

The bolt 8 'projecting upwards from the standing wing 8 can clearly be seen. The bolt 8 'is located in the interior of the recess 7 of the turntable 6, which can rotate about a bearing bolt 11. Between the disc 6 and the construction of the door frame or the upper crossbar, there could be a torsion spring, which the disc 6 in the deflected Holds position when the standing wing 8 is open. At the bottom, the installation space of the disk 6 is closed by a housing cover 13. In the embodiment shown, a torsion spring is not provided.

A closure sequence control and locking device for double-winged doors, more particularly fire doors, which are equipped with an automatic closure device, wherein provided for the practicable wing is a stop which when the stationary wing is situated outside the closure position projects into the pivoting path of the practicable wing and is connected via a connecting element to a stationary wing contact element rotatable around an axis (A) lying substantially parallel with the hinge plate axis and is so adjustable by said element that the stop can be moved out of the pivoting path of the practicable wing and the latter can be pivoted into the closure position, wherein the contact element (6) is connected via a connecting element (9), extending in the inside of only the upper horizontal beam (1) or the upper horizontal portion of the door case (2), to the stop (5, 5') which is disposed mainly in the inside of the upper horizontal beam (1) or the upper horizontal part of the door case (2) and is movable substantially in the plane of the door, said contact element being blockable for the locking of the stationary wing (8) and being formed with a recess (7) receiving a part (8') of the stationary wing (8), while when the stationary wing (8) is open, the recess (7) is directed towards its part (8'), said part (8'), when the stationary wing (8) is closed, first contacting an inner side of the recess (7) and then rotating the contact element (6) around its axis (A).
  2. A device according to Claim 1, characterised in that the stop is formed by a pivotable lever (5) or a hydraulic cylinder and is disposed adjacent the hinge plates of the practicable wing (3) while at least a part (5') of the lever (5) or the cylinder can be pivoted or slid from above into the upper frame opening (4) of the door and is connected to a contact element (6) disposed in or on the upper door beam (1) or the door case (2) adjacent the end face of the stationary wing (8) adjacent the practicable wing (3).
  3. A device according to Claim 1, characterised in that the contact element (6) takes the form of a disc formed with a recess (7) which points inwardly from the peripheral edge and which engages via a portion of its inner edge behind a portion (8') of the stationary wing (8) in the closed sense in its upwardly pivoting direction.
  4. A device according to Claim 3, characterised in that in its closure position the disc (6) is blocked in its closure position by the practicable wing (3), preferably by a part of the practicable wing (3) bearing directly against an outer edge of the disc (6), when the practicable wing (3) is in the closure position.
  5. A device according to Claim 4, characterised in that the rotational axis (D) of the disc (6) extends outside its centre, preferably on the side of the disc (6) opposite to the outwardly pivoting direction.
  6. A device according to Claim 3, characterised in that the underside of the disc (6) adjoins at most against the underside of the upper part of the door case (2).
  7. A device according to Claim 3, characterised in that the disc (6) has a stop surface (10) for a part (3') of the practicable wing (3), preferably on the side of said part adjacent the practicable wing (3), said part (3') of the practicable wing (3) bearing against said stop surface when the door is closed, thus preventing the rotation of the disc (6).
  8. A device according to Claims 1 or 7, characterised in that the part (3') of the practicable wing (3) and/or the part (8') of the stationary wing (8) which contacts the contact element (6) take the form of pins extending upwardly from the respective door wings (3, 8).
  9. A device according to Claims 5 and 7, characterised in that the stop surface (10) is preferably flat and at right angles to the plane of the door, and the part (3') of the practicable wing (8) bearing it against said surface has a matching, preferably also flat surface (3'a), while preferably the recess (7) in the disc (6) and also the parts (3', 8') of the door wings (3, 8) lie in the closed position in a plane parallel with the rotational axis (D) of the disc (6) and, viewed from the outwardly pivoting direction, in front of the latter.
  10. A device according to at least one of Claims 4 to 9, characterised in that the part (3') of the practicable wing (3) has an acute-angled edge (3'b) pointing in the outwardly pivoting direction and towards the central plane of the door, and the disc (6) is formed with a recess (6b) which corresponds to said edge (3'b) and which is provided on the stop surface (10) at its end situated in the outwardly pivoting direction and preferably slightly offset in the direction of the centre of the door and which is pivoted into the outwardly pivoting path of the part (3') of the practicable wing (3) when the stationary wing (8) makes an outwardly pivoting movement.
