Description

The present invention relates to the textile industry, and more particularly to straight combing machines, and relates to an automatic compensation device for the wear of the circular brush of a straight combing machine.

On a straight comb, the short fibers, the length of which can be adjusted, are separated from the long fibers by the circular comb and the fixed comb. These short fibers thus eliminated form the blister. The circular comb therefore brings its coat onto the circular brush which is discharged from it by the doffer. The pod is then detached from the doffer and collected in the pod tray.

Currently, the circular brush enters the bars of the circular comb to take out the blister and bring it to the doffer. The circular brush rotates faster than the circular comb to clean it well. Therefore, by entering the bars of the circular comb, the tufts of the circular brush are pushed back and, after a certain time, remain folded back and are therefore considerably worn.

This results in numerous drawbacks such as, in particular, on the one hand, an efficiency of the circular brush almost zero since the tufts no longer penetrate between the needles of the circular comb and no longer leave the blister thereon, on the other hand, a considerably reduced efficiency of the circular comb, because it becomes engorged by the fact that the blister is no longer discharged and remains on it and, finally, frequent fillings of the circular brush, very expensive and causing numerous machine stops which clearly decrease the yield thereof.

To avoid these drawbacks, it has been proposed to make the axis of rotation of the circular brush mobile, that is to say adjustable. Indeed, when the brush wears out, its diameter decreases, and thus, by being able to adjust its position, it is possible to catch the wear of its tufts so that they always penetrate well into the circular comb and manage to fill correctly their function. This compensation by displacement of the axis of the circular brush, that is to say this catching up of the wear of said brush with respect to its neighboring members, is currently done manually and, therefore, only sporadically and after finding the deterioration in the quality of combing.

Furthermore, document CH-A-391 529 also discloses a machine for combing fibers in the form of a sheet, comprising in particular a rotary brush which can be, alternatively, close and distant from the comb cylinder.

The tilting movements of the rotary brush towards the painter cylinder are obtained by means of articulated arms secured to the axis of the brush and provided with a feeler member cooperating with a cam fixed on the shaft of the painter cylinder. This results in the maintenance of a constant gap between the brush and the cylinder, whatever the wear of said brush.

The device disclosed in document CH-A-391 529 does not therefore make it possible to solve the problems linked to the wear of the circular brush of a combing machine.

The object of the present invention is to overcome all the aforementioned drawbacks arising from the wear of the circular brush of a combing machine.

Its purpose is, in fact, to provide a device for compensating for the wear of the circular brush. a rectilinear combing machine, characterized in that it is automatic and in that it is essentially constituted by an automatic control device, controlling the position of the circular brush and controlling the movement of the latter, by means of at least one actuator, in at least one direction perpendicular to its axis.

  • la figure 1 est une vue en élévation latérale et en coupe d'une peigneuse rectiligne comportant la brosse circulaire déplaçable conformément à l'invention ;
The invention will be better understood thanks to the description below, which relates to preferred embodiments, given by way of nonlimiting examples, and explained with reference to the appended schematic drawings, in which:
  • Figure 1 is a side elevational view in section of a straight combing machine having the movable circular brush according to the invention;
  • FIG. 2 is a top view of the circular brush provided with the actuator forming part of the device according to the invention, and
  • Figure 3 is a block diagram of the device according to the invention.

Figure 1 of the accompanying drawings shows a fixed comb assembly 1 - circular comb 2 - circular brush 3 - doffer 4 - detaching comb 5 of a straight comb combing a ribbon 6 of fibers.

In accordance with the invention, the device for compensating for the wear of the circular brush of a straight combing machine is automatic, and essentially consists, as shown more particularly in FIGS. 2 and 3 of the accompanying drawings, by a control device. automatic 7, controlling the position of the circular brush 3 and controlling the movement of the latter, by means of at least one actuator 8, in at least one direction perpendicular to its axis 9.

The circular brush 3 can therefore more or less approach the circular comb 2 and / or the doffer 4 according to its direction and its direction of movement. If, therefore, the circular brush 3 approaches the circular comb 2, the tufts 10, with which it is furnished, penetrate, even if they are curved or folded, between the needles 11 of the circular comb 2 to their base and therefore rid them completely short fibers cluttering them. On the other hand, the needles 12 of the doffer 4 do not penetrate into the tufts 10 of the circular brush 3, but remain tangent to the latter and may even have a small play with them. The position of the circular brush 3 must therefore be such that it ensures, on the one hand, an optimal interpenetration between the circular brush 3 and the circular comb 2 and, on the other hand, the tangency between the circular brush 3 and the doffer 4.

Selon une caractéristique de l'invention, l'actionneur 8 est constitué par un moteur électrique 13, réversible ou muni d'un réducteur-inverseur 14, commandé par le dispositif de commande automatique 7, et par un dispositif mécanique 15, transformant le mouvement de rotation dudit moteur électrique 13 en mouvement de translation de la brosse circulaire 3.According to a characteristic of the invention, the actuator 8 is constituted by an electric motor 13, reversible or provided with a reduction gearbox 14, controlled by the automatic control device 7, and by a mechanical device 15, transforming the movement of rotation of said electric motor 13 in translational movement of the circular brush 3.

By interposing, in addition, a clutch between the electric motor 13 and the gear reducer 14, or between the gear reducer 14 and the mechanical device 15, it is possible to provide manual control of the movement of the circular brush 3.

As shown in Figure 2 of the accompanying drawings, the mechanical device 15 consists of a shaft 16, driven in rotation by the electric motor 13, said shaft 16 carrying two pinions 18 and 18 ′ meshing, each with a pinion with corresponding perpendicular angle 19 or 19 ′, integral with a screw 20 or 20 ′ subject in translation by a stop 21 or 21 ′, and each actuating a movable bearing 22 or 22 ′.

According to another characteristic of the invention, each movable bearing 22 or 22 ′ comprises a bearing 23 or 23 ′ as end support for the axis 9, as well as a nut 24 or 24 ′, cooperating with the screw 20 or 20 ′ of corresponding drive, and allowing the displacement in translation of the axis 9 of the circular brush 3, in a horizontal plane, in a direction perpendicular to the axes of the circular comb 2 and of the doffer 4 and in one of the two directions of displacement 35 or 36, depending on the direction of rotation of the shaft 16 (Figure 2).

A mechanical device 15 as described above, mounted on a frame 17, ensures synchronous movement of the two mobile bearings 22 and 22 ′, and therefore retains the parallelism between the circular brush 3, on the one hand, and the doffer 4 and the circular comb 2, on the other hand.

La roue à rochet est alors montée directement sur l'arbre 16 et remplace, dans ce cas, le moteur électrique 13.According to an alternative embodiment of the invention, not shown in the accompanying drawings, the actuator 8 is constituted by the mechanical device 15 and by a ratchet wheel driven by a pawl actuated by a jack, either pneumatically or operationally hydraulic. The ratchet wheel is then mounted directly on the shaft 16 and replaces, in this case, the electric motor 13.

In accordance with FIG. 2 of the appended drawings, the device which is the subject of the invention comprises pneumatic or hydraulic jacks 25, 25 ′ allowing the circular brush 3 to be locked in place in the position controlled by the automatic control device 7. job.

This locking takes place in synchronism with the movements of movement of the axis 9 of the circular brush 3.

According to another characteristic of the invention, and as shown in FIG. 3 of the accompanying drawings, the automatic control device 7 comprises a programmable servo 26, as well as sensors 27, making it possible to adjust the periodicity and the value of the horizontal displacement of the circular brush 3, to achieve a controlled force clamping thereof and, to fix, by driving it with an electric motor 28 at variable speed, the speed of rotation of said circular brush 3, as a function or independently of its position.

The drive of the circular brush 3 can also be carried out by means of sprockets, chains or belts.

By controlling the speed of rotation of the circular brush 3, using the variable speed electric motor 28, the automatic control device adapts it according to the wear of the tufts 10, so that the peripheral linear speed of the circular brush is always constant, which guarantees a cleaning of the circular comb 2 constant in quality. In addition, periods of intensive cleaning of the rotating elements 2, 3 and 4 can be included in the operating cycles of the straight combing machine. To do this, it suffices to vary the speed of rotation of the circular brush 3 with respect to the speeds of rotation of the circular comb 2 and the doffer 4.

The device, object of the invention, also includes a display device 29, making it possible to constantly check the position and the state of the circular brush 3, as well as the data of the sensors 27.

In accordance with FIG. 3 of the appended drawings, the device, object of the invention, comprises an automatic stop of operation 30 of the straight combing machine, connected to at least one limit switch 31, as well as at least one device 32 for indicating the wear of the tufts 10 of the circular brush 3, such as, for example, an indicator light, an audible warning, etc.

The wear signaling device 32 therefore warns the user of the imminent need for a change of the circular brush 3, hence the possibility of a preliminary organization of this change, and therefore a saving of time in machine stop. .

The automatic operating stop 30 comes into action when the circular brush 3 is completely worn out, and stops the combing machine.

According to Figure 3 of the accompanying drawings, the device according to the invention further comprises manual displacement control means 33, usable after disconnection of the automatic control device 7 using a selection device 34 of manual or automatic movement mode.

Thus, after disconnection of the automatic control device 7, it is possible to control the movement of the circular brush 3 manually, by means of a push button, for example, which controls the advance and the return of the circular brush 3, especially when replacing the latter.

In the description below, the general operation of the straight combing machine and, subsequently, more particularly the operation of the device for automatically compensating for the wear of the circular brush 3, as shown in FIG. 2, will be explained in more detail.

On the straight combing machine, the sheet of incoming fibers 6 is combed, on the one hand, by the circular comb 2 and, on the other hand, by the fixed comb 1. The short fibers thus removed from the sheet of incoming fibers 6 form the blister which agglomerates on the circular comb 2. The latter is discharged from its blister and cleaned by the circular brush 3. This cleaning operation of the circular comb 2 is carried out because, said circular comb 2 and the circular brush 3 rotating respectively in the directions of rotation indicated in FIG. 1, the circular brush 3 rotates faster than the circular comb 2. The doffer 4 also rotating in the direction of rotation indicated in FIG. 1, more slowly than the circular brush 3, resumes the cover and is in turn discharged from it by the detaching comb 5 which, by its oscillating movement, causes said cover to fall into a collecting tank forming part of the rectilinear comber. The veil 6 ′, composed only of long combed fibers, is then reformed on a tear-off leather, condensed into a ribbon by a funnel and placed in a pot by rollers. The combed ribbon, produced from the veil 6 ′, constitutes the product leaving the rectilinear combing machine.

The device for compensating for the wear of the circular brush 3 in accordance with the invention and a preferred embodiment of which is shown in FIG. 2, operates in the manner described below.

The motor 13 rotates the shaft 16 on which are mounted the pinions 18 and 18 ′ which transmit the rotation respectively to the pinions 19 and 19 ′ secured to the screws 20 and 20 ′. The latter, held in translation by the stops 21 and 21 'move, by their rotation, the bearings 22 and 22' which support, via the bearings 23 and 23 ', the axis 9 of the circular brush 3. The displacement of the circular brush 3 is done according to arrows 35 and 36, namely in the direction of arrow 35, in normal operation, that is to say when it is necessary to compensate for the wear of the tufts 10, and in the direction of arrow 36 when it is necessary to disengage the circular brush 3 to replace it. As already explained above, the wear compensation of the circular brush 3 can be done continuously or periodically.

Grâce à l'invention, il est, par conséquent, possible de pallier à tous les inconvénients liés à l'usure de la brosse circulaire 3.Thanks to the invention, it is therefore possible to overcome all the drawbacks associated with the wear of the circular brush 3.

In fact, since the circular brush 3 is always in an optimal position relative to with the circular comb 2, the circular comb 2 is constantly well freed and cleaned of the bush. However, as the circular comb 2 is permanently clean, the maintenance of the straight comb is greatly facilitated.

In addition, the constant cleanliness of the circular comb 2 ensures a better quality of work for the rectilinear combing machine, this constant cleanliness being due to the very regular cleaning of the circular comb 2. In fact, the circular comb 2 being cleaned more efficiently , the outgoing product is automatically of better quality.

In addition, by the automatic wear compensation of the circular brush 3, the latter has an extended service life and is, in general, better exploited. In addition, it also avoids many stops of the machine, hence a significant contribution to increasing the performance of the straight combing machine.

Of course, the invention is not limited to the embodiments described and shown in the accompanying drawings. Modifications remain possible, in particular from the point of view of the constitution of the various elements, or by substitution of technical equivalents, without thereby departing from the scope of protection of the invention.
