Description

The invention relates to a pivot for tilting or oscillating roof window comprising a fixed element integral with the frame having an upper covering hood, a movable element integral with the tilting or oscillating opening element having a lower covering hood and a intermediate element connected by a first articulation axis to the fixed element and by a second articulation axis to the movable element, in the cleaning position of the tilting or oscillating opening, the second articulation axis being projected towards the exterior with respect to the plane of the tilting or oscillating opening as a result of a first rotation of the tilting or oscillating opening around the second articulation axis connecting the mobile element to the intermediate element followed by a second rotation around the first articulation axis connecting the intermediate element to the fixed element.

We already know, from document FR-A-2,608,202, a pivot for tilting or oscillating roof window according to the preamble of claim 1 comprising a fixed element integral with the frame having an upper covering cover and connected by a first articulation axis at one end of a tilting lever and a movable element integral with the tilting or oscillating opening provided with a lower covering cover and connected by a second articulation axis at the other end of the lever tilting. These two articulation axes are offset in the cleaning position of the tilting or oscillating opening leaf relative to the plane of said opening following a first rotation around the second articulation axis connecting the rocking lever to the mobile element followed by a rotation around the first articulation axis connecting the rocking lever to the fixed element. On this second articulation axis are arranged locking means terminating, after the first rotation of the movable element around said second articulation axis, the cooperation of elastic return locking means for the second rotation of the rocking lever around the first articulation axis connecting the other end of said rocking lever to the fixed element.

The locking means are, on the one hand, a lug located on the rear face of a parallel wing of the rocking lever and cooperating with two stops of the movable element to determine the prior rotation of this last relative to the parallel wing of the rocking lever and, on the other hand, a blocking element threaded on the second articulation axis and made integral in rotation with the movable element by means of a protruding lug relative to one of the faces of the movable element, this blocking element, the periphery of which comprises a notch cooperating with one of the locking means, being situated between the front face of the parallel wing of the rocking lever and the face rear of a plate threaded by one of its ends on the second articulation axis and held by an axis crossing a hole made in its other end, this axis being integral with the front face of the parallel wing of the rocking lever .

The locking means are an elastic return locking element located on the parallel wing of the tilting and pivoting lever about the axis secured to said parallel wing and a keeper secured to the fixed element and located at the transverse wall. connecting the two parallel wings of the rocking lever, this elastic return locking element comprising a first locking finger cooperating with the notch of the locking element and a second locking finger cooperating with the keeper.

Toutefois, ce pivot présente plusieurs inconvénients. However, this pivot has several drawbacks.

Indeed, to maintain the cleaning position of the tilting or oscillating opening, said pivot comprises complex and multiple means which not only considerably increase the cost of the pivot but also decrease the reliability of the latter. It is the same with regard to the means which must ensure the succession of rotations, namely rotation around the second articulation axis connecting the rocking lever to the movable element followed by rotation around the first articulation axis connecting the lever tilting to the fixed element. Finally, the tilting or oscillating opening is only held in these three positions, namely the closed position, the open position and the cleaning position, but can freely tilt or oscillate between these three positions. Thus, if the user has not ensured that the door is locked in its open position or its cleaning position, there is a risk that the wind will slam the door in the position of closing, or that during cleaning, the opening tilts unexpectedly which could damage the whole.

Document GB-A-2,079,845 also discloses a hinge for a tilting window provided with external cover profiles composed of a fixed element having the shape of a housing and screwed into a notch made in the frame. a movable element provided with a base screwed onto the opening and composed of two plates having the general shape of a sector of a circle. These two plates, pivoting around a second articulation axis formed by a clamping screw, move in semi-circular notches made in the two walls of the fixed element. Between the two walls of the fixed element and the two plates of the movable element is located a lever rocking around a first axis of articulation and crossed by the second axis of articulation. This rocking lever having the approximate shape of a "U", is connected, at one of its ends and by the first articulation axis, to the fixed element and, at its opposite end via the second hinge pin, to the movable element. This rocking lever, having a circle sector of which one of the lateral faces is provided with a friction coating, further comprises, on each of its faces, a latch pivotally mounted on an axis.

En ouvrant la fenêtre, l'élément mobile pivote autour du second axe d'articulation jusqu'à ce que le bossage courbe de guidage entre en contact avec la clencheThis latch, in the closed position of the window, is housed in a cutout made in the semi-circular notches of the housing of the fixed element. In addition, the two plates of the movable element include a curved guide boss. By opening the window, the mobile element pivots around the second articulation axis until the curved guide boss comes into contact with the latch.

Due to the particular shape of this boss, the latch then tilts while being released from the cutout. In fact, this intimate cooperation between said boss and the latch allows the rotation of the rocking lever around the first articulation axis so that the two articulation axes are offset from the plane of the opening.

However, this document does not include any security means blocking the tilting or oscillating opening in its cleaning position. Indeed, the use of a friction coating is a very random means because this coating may, after a certain time of use, be completely ineffective. Furthermore, the tightening exerted by the second articulation axis formed by a tightening screw considerably slows down the opening movement of the opening.

Likewise, document DE-A-1,708,123 discloses a hinge for a tilting window. This hinge comprises a fixed element integral with the sleeping frame. This fixed element has two axes of articulation. Furthermore, this hinge comprises a movable element secured to the tilting opening. This movable element, consisting of two parts, one of which is integral with the movable element and the other, can be brought closer or distant from said piece by screws, also has two axes of articulation. At the location of the joints, the two parts of the movable element have bores in which are housed said joints. One of the articulation axes of the fixed element is connected to one of the articulation axes of the mobile element by a first intermediate element. The other articulation axis of the fixed element is connected to the second articulation axis of the movable element by a second intermediate element. Thus, we are in the presence of four axes of articulation and two intermediate elements. At the start of the opening, the intermediate element pivots around the articulation axis to bring the articulation axis of the mobile element to an intermediate position. Continuing the opening of the opening, it causes the simultaneous rotation, on the one hand, of the intermediate element around the articulation axis secured to the fixed element and, on the other hand, of the parts around of the articulation axis of the movable element.

The only way to avoid an unexpected return of the door from its open position to the closed position is to tighten the parts of the mobile element on the axes of articulation of the mobile element using screws . To this end, two openings are provided in one of the intermediate parts for actuating the screws. However, the action on the screws can only be exerted when the window is in the closed position. Thus, one acts in an arbitrary and empirical manner on the axes of articulation of the mobile element by increasing more or less the coefficient of friction between the parts of the mobile element and the axes of articulation of the mobile element by modifying the pinching of said parts on said axes of articulation, therefore to the detriment of the normal force necessary for the opening of the opening.

It should therefore be noted that this hinge also does not include any safety device and that the means used are not reliable.

The present invention aims to remedy these drawbacks. The invention, as characterized in the claims, solves the problem of creating a pivot for a tilting or oscillating roof window comprising a fixed element secured to the frame provided with an upper covering cover, a movable element secured to the tilting or oscillating opening having a lower covering cover and an intermediate element connected by a first articulation axis to the fixed element and by a second articulation axis to the movable element, in the cleaning position of the tilting or oscillating opening, the second articulation axis being projected outwards relative to the plane of the tilting or oscillating opening following a first rotation of the tilting or oscillating opening around the second axis of articulation connecting the movable element to the intermediate element followed by a second rotation around the first articulation axis connecting the intermediate element to the fixed element, this pi vot comprising a lever condemning the return of the tilting or oscillating opening from its blocked cleaning position to its open position, this lever, interposed between the fixed element and the movable element being controlled by a stud fixed to the mobile element whose rotation is braked by a pinion-brake integral with the intermediate element.

The advantages obtained thanks to this invention consist essentially in that the pivot comprises safety means annihilating the unexpected return of the tilting or oscillating opening from its cleaning position and its open position or from the latter to its closed position , these means, because of their simplicity, are inexpensive and little subject to operational incidents. In total, the pivot stands out for its safety and a long service life.

On se réfère aux figures 1 à 3.We refer to Figures 1 to 3.

There are between the longitudinal members of the frame 1 with an upper covering hood 2 and the longitudinal members of the tilting or oscillating opening 3 provided with a lower covering hood 4 with a tilting or oscillating roof window of two pivots 5 according to the invention. Because the pivots 5 are enantiomorphic with respect to the longitudinal plane of the tilting or oscillating window, the description below relates to a single pivot 5.

Le premier axe de rotation 7 est disposé en deçà du chant inférieur 15 de l'élément de recouvrement supérieur 2 alors que le second axe de rotation 8 se trouve au-delà dudit chant inférieur 15, ce dernier recouvrant, lorsque l'ouvrant basculant ou oscillant 3 est en position de fermeture, le chant supérieur 16 du capot de recouvrement inférieur 4.The pivot 5 comprises a fixed element 6, made integral with the internal face of the longitudinal members of the frame 1 by two axes of rotation 7 and 8, comprising a body having the approximate shape of an "L" whose two faces 9 and 10 of the two wings 11, 12 form an angle of the order of one hundred and twenty degrees, which makes it possible to obtain a clearance for the lower covering cover 4 of the tilting or oscillating opening 3. The first axis of rotation 7 is located at the end 13 of the practically vertical wing 11 and the second axis of rotation 8 is located near the end 14 of the practically horizontal wing 12 of the fixed element 6. The first axis of rotation 7 is arranged in below the lower edge 15 of the upper covering element 2 while the second axis of rotation 8 is located beyond said lower edge 15, the latter covering, when the tilting or oscillating opening 3 is in the closed position, the upper edge 16 of the lower cover er 4.

On the first axis of rotation 7 is threaded the upper corner 17 of one of the short sides of an intermediate element 18 having approximately the shape of a rectangle. This intermediate element 18 can pivot freely around said axis of rotation 7, the latter constituting one of the axes of articulation of the pivot 5. A clearance 20 is made in the upper edge 19 of this intermediate element 18 in which the upper edge 16 of the lower covering cover 4 of the tilting or oscillating opening 3 when the latter is pushed outwards to bring it first in the open position (see FIG. 2), then in the cleaning (see figure 3).

Near the other short side of the intermediate element 18, the latter comprises braking means constituted by a pinion-brake 21 pivoting about a rotation axis 22 integral with the intermediate element 18. The pinion-brake 21 has on its periphery 23 a toothing 24 meshing with a toothing 25 of a curvilinear segment 26 of a movable element 27. This is made integral with the outer face of the side members of the tilting or oscillating opening 3 by an articulation axis 28 constituting the second articulation axis of the pivot 5. The curvilinear segment 26 is integral in rotation with said articulation axis 28 and by imparting a rotation to the tilting or oscillating opening 3 to bring it into position opening and in the cleaning position or vice versa in the open position and in the closed position, this rotation automatically causes the mobile element 27 to rotate around the center of rotation 29. The center 29 of the hinge pin 28 con also establishes the center of the curvilinear segment 26. Due to the cooperation of its teeth 25 with that of the brake pinion 21, the rotational movement of the curvilinear segment 26 and, consequently, of the tilting or oscillating opening 3 , is constantly braked and as soon as you let go of the latter, it retains its position and does not switch unexpectedly either in one direction or the other.

De ce fait, on peut conférer à l'ouvrant basculant ou oscillant 3 toute position intermédiaire. Bien entendu, la force de freinage du pignon-frein 21, d'une part, est fonction du poids de l'ouvrant basculant et oscillant 3 et, d'autre part, doit tenir compte des effets du vent et autres conditions atmosphériques;Therefore, one can give the tilting or oscillating leaf 3 any intermediate position. Of course, the braking force of the brake pinion 21, on the one hand, is a function of the weight of the tilting and oscillating opening 3 and, on the other hand, must take into account the effects of wind and other atmospheric conditions;

The intermediate element 18 being stationary during these opening and closing maneuvers of the tilting or oscillating opening 3, it could be envisaged to confuse this intermediate element 18 with the fixed element 6 attached to the internal face of the side members of the frame 1. Under these conditions, the cleaning position, corresponding to the maximum opening position of the window, would be reached following a continuously braked rotation.

However, such an arrangement would substantially limit the amplitude of the angular displacement of said tilting or oscillating opening 3, the upper 2 and lower 4 covering covers becoming mutually hampering during tilting in the cleaning position.

Also, it is planned to dissociate the intermediate element 18 from the fixed element 6 so as to define two distinct articulation axes 28 and 7 allowing successive rotation of the tilting or oscillating opening 3 around the latter and by there even its projection towards the outside of the frame 1 in order to increase the amplitude of its angular displacement.

Furthermore, the curvilinear segment 26 comprises at one of its ends 30 control means 31 preferably constituted by a stud. In the closed position, said stud 31 is located on the side of the first axis of rotation 7. This stud 31 protrudes relative to the face of the intermediate element 18 directed towards the fixed element 6. When the tilting opening or oscillating 3 is in the closed position, as shown in Figure 1, the center 32 of this stud 31 is on the same horizontal plane 33 as the center 29 of the hinge pin 28. By actuating the tilting leaf or oscillating 3, this pin 31 describes an arc of a circle 34 concentric with the curvilinear segment 26. When the tilting or oscillating leaf 3 is in the normal open position, said pin 31 engages in a light 35 produced at a ends 36 of non-return means of the tilting or oscillating opening 3 from its cleaning position to its open position.

En phase de fermeture, le centre 43 de ce fond de gorge 42 se situe légèrement au-dessus du plan horizontal 44 passant par le centre 45 de l'axe de rotation 8 et le levier 37 repose sur un arrêt 46 solidaire de l'élément fixe 6.These non-return means are a lever 37 which can pivot around the second axis of rotation 8 of the fixed element 6, this second axis of rotation 8 passing through the other end 38 of said lever 37 and opening into a clearance 39 produced in the intermediate element 18. Light 35 comprises two guide ramps 40, 41 leading to a bottom of the groove 42. In the closing phase, the center 43 of this bottom of the groove 42 is situated slightly above the horizontal plane 44 passing through the center 45 of the axis of rotation 8 and the lever 37 rests on a stop 46 integral with the fixed element 6.

When the stud 31 enters the lumen 35, it causes the beginning of rotation of the lever 37 and the center 43 of the groove bottom 42, merging with the center 32 of the control stud 31, is raised so as to amplify its offset by relative to the horizontal plane 44.

By continuing to open the tilting or oscillating opening 3, the control pin 31 causes the lever 37 to rotate around the center 45 of the axis of rotation 8 which therefore becomes the axis of rotation of the lever 37. This ci exerts a thrust on the control stud 31, thrust transmitted by the movable element 27, via the hinge pin 28, to the intermediate element 18. The latter will pivot around the first axis of rotation 7 and the hinge pin 28 is pushed out of the fixed frame 1. Therefore, it is possible to give the tilting or oscillating opening 3 the cleaning position.

The non-return equilibrium position is obtained when the center 29 of the hinge pin 28 of the movable member 27, the center 32 of the control stud 31 of the movable member 27, respectively the center 43 of the bottom groove 42 of the lever 37 and the center of the axis of rotation 8, respectively the center of rotation of the lever 37, are on the same alignment 47. As soon as the center 32 of the control stud 31 of the movable element 27 has exceeded alignment 47, the tilting or oscillating opening 3 is locked in its cleaning position.

For this purpose, reference should be made to FIG. 4, which represents the breakdown of the movements from the normal opening position of the tilting or oscillating opening 3 (see FIG. 2) to its cleaning position (see figure 3). The circular arc 48 represents the path generated by the connection 49 between the control means 31 of the movable element 27 and the non-return means, namely the end 36 of the lever 37 while the circular arc 50 represents the path generated by the link 51 between the movable element 27 and the intermediate element 18.

Lorsque l'ouvrant basculant ou oscillant 3 est en position d'ouverture normale, la liaison 49 se trouve au point A et la liaison 51 en point B.When the tilting or oscillating leaf 3 is in the normal open position, the link 49 is at point A and the link 51 at point B.

Lorsque l'ouvrant basculant ou oscillant 3 est en position d'équilibre anti-retour, la liaison 49 se trouve sur l'alignement 47 et la liaison 51 en C.When the tilting or oscillating opening 3 is in a non-return equilibrium position, the connection 49 is on the alignment 47 and the connection 51 at C.

Lorsque l'ouvrant basculant ou oscillant 3 est en position bloquée de nettoyage, la liaison 49 se trouve en D, donc au-delà de l'alignement 47 et la liaison 51 a reculé au point E.When the tilting or oscillating opening 3 is in the blocked cleaning position, the connection 49 is at D, therefore beyond alignment 47 and the connection 51 has retreated to point E.

The center distance 52 between the center 29 of the hinge pin 28 and the center 32 of the control stud 31, that is to say the distance between the link 49 and the link 51, prevents the opening rocking or swinging 3 to go back unexpectedly.
