Claims (11)

  1. Flushing mechanism, placed inside a W.C. cistern (R) comprising:
    - a tubular housing (4), with a lower base (4c) through which the drainage opening runs and communicating with the said cistern (R) via broad inlets (4a) and which is fixed to the bottom (Ra).
    - a hollow cylindrical float (3) sliding inside the said housing (4), which float comprising an upper part (3a) with a broad diameter and a lower part or tail piece (3b-3c) with a smaller diameter.
    - a seal valve, closing the drain, the flap of which is constituted by a seal (6) carried by the lower part of the said float, the seat of which is formed by a flange (4d) running around the periphery of the drainage opening located on the lower base (4c) of the tubular housing.
    - a gear (13) enabling the float (3) to be lifted between its lower position and its upper position and therefore enabling the said valve to be opened by means of a manoeuvring button (1), the lower internal part of the housing (4) bearing an internal annular projection (4e) at a level which is only just above that of the upper part of the inlets (4a), the said projection allowing the tail piece (3c) to pass with slight friction and secondly [sic], the seal (6) which closes the valve when the float is in its lover position, thus creating watertightness by pressing on a flange (4g) provided on the lower face of the said annular projection when the said float is in its upper position.
  2. Mechanism according to claim 1 characterised in that the annular space (B) recessed between the external wall of the float (3) and the internal wall of the housing (4) is as small as possible.
  3. Mechanism according to one of the previous claims characterised in that the cistern (R) communicates with the said housing (4) via holes located at a level below that of the open upper part of the float when it is in its lowest position.
  4. Mechanism according to claim 2 characterised in that the flange (4g) of this annular projection (4e) exhibits a notch (4h) of calibrated dimensions allowing the timed drainage of the annular space (B), when the float is in its highest position.
  5. Mechanism according to any one of the previous claims, in which the control button (1) of the gear is a push button, the said gear comprising an inverter device (2) transforming the descending movement of the said push button into an ascending movement of the float characterised in that this inverter (2) includes a body (8) which can move up and down, within which slides a bush (14) fitted with a stop actuating the body, the said bush being screwed into the threaded end of the rod (13), the second end of which, being cruciform or equivalent in section, is engaged in the push button (1) controlling its descent in opposition to a spring (16).
  6. Mechanism according to claim 5, characterised in that levers (9-10) are hinged on the sides of the body (8) and pivot within a fixed part, for example a cap (11) of the housing (4) by means of journals (12) located between their ends.
  7. Mechanism according to one of the previous claims characterised in that the float (3) is fitted with a perforated top (7) bearing two vertical brackets (7a) which face one another and are each pierced by a vertical slot (7b).
  8. Mechanism according to claims 6 and 7, characterised in that the free ends of the levers (9-10) which are hook-shaped (9a-10a) are engaged in the slots (7b).
  9. Mechanism according to one of the previous claims, characterised in that the mobile body (8) and the levers (9-10) are made from a single piece of moulded plastic, and the levers can be stiffened by means of a reinforcement placed as an insert, the folding being obtained by reducing the thickness of the material.
  10. Mechanism according to one of the previous claims, characterised in that when the flotation within the space (B) causes the float (3) to rise, an element of the upper end of the latter meets the control rod (13) or a part which is integral to it, in such a way that the rise of the float is accompanied by that of the push button (1).
  11. Mechanism according to one of the previous claims characterised in that the cap (11) of the housing (4) is secured to the lid (Rc) of the cistern (R), by means of a threaded height-adjustment spacer (15) resulting in adjustment of the gear (13) by screwing it or unscrewing it within the nut (14).
