Definitions

  • the invention relates to a fitting for the attachment or storage of glass plates.
  • the known fittings for the attachment and / or the rotatable mounting of glass plates can, as far as fittings are concerned, in which two clamping plates can be divided essentially into two groups with the aid of screws which are passed through bores in the glass plate.
  • the connecting part for fastening to the adjacent component and / or to a counter-fitting cooperating with the fitting is located within the glass plate.
  • the glass plate must have a more or less large cutout, as a rule at the edge of the glass plate, in addition to the bores that serve to receive the screws that clamp the clamping plates together. This cutout must be made using special saws.
  • the connecting part protruding into this cutout is either directly part of one of the two clamping plates, or it is firmly connected as a separate part to one or to both clamping plates by screws or in some other way.
  • Fittings of this type have the disadvantage that the glass plates have to be provided with an edge cutout.
  • the provision of a cutout on the edge of the glass plate is a labor-intensive and costly process, so that the use of such fittings is relatively expensive.
  • the other group of fittings for the attachment or storage of glass plates are those in which the connecting part is not arranged inside the glass plate body, but outside.
  • fittings can only be used for a very specific purpose. This means that at least one of the two clamping plates is designed according to the respective purpose.
  • fittings must be available in practice for a wide variety of applications, this means that with a specific fitting system, i.e. For fittings for various applications, which, however, must match each other in terms of their technical conception and shape and design, many different clamping plates must be manufactured and kept in stock. As a result, the fitting system as a whole is expensive and complicated, both in terms of manufacture and in storage.
  • EP-A-235694 forms the closest prior art and Fallt under Article 54 (3).
  • This snip shows a fitting for all-glass constructions made of frameless glass plates.
  • This fitting also comprises two clamping plates, which are clamped together and with the glass plate with the interposition of elastic intermediate layers. If two glass plates butting against each other in the same plane are connected to each other with this fitting, the clamping plates grip over both glass plates. If this fitting for attaching the glass plate to a right angle to the Glass plate arranged component is used, additional chucks are required, which are screwed to a clamping plate and protrude into a corresponding cutout in the glass plate. With such a fitting, a stop plate can also be interposed between a clamping plate and the glass plate, which protrudes beyond the edge of the glass plate and which serves as a stop for a door leaf.
  • the invention has for its object to provide a fitting system in which as few as possible of the practically occurring application cases can be covered with the least possible number of fitting parts of different design, which are simple and inexpensive to manufacture as such.
  • the individual fitting should be cheaper to manufacture as such, and on the other hand, the storage should be significantly simplified by the fitting system consisting largely of parts that can be used for all cases of use, and by the different Applications of different connecting parts consist of the simplest parts that are particularly inexpensive to manufacture.
  • the clamping plates which are each designed as such in the simplest manner as metal plates with plane-parallel surfaces and, for example, two countersunk bores, merely have the function of fixing the actual connecting part in the form of a sheet metal tab to clamp.
  • these clamping plates can be covered by aesthetically pleasing cover caps, through which the fittings are given the desired appearance.
  • the actual connecting parts in the form of straight or angled sheet metal tabs can have different shapes and sizes depending on the application.
  • Both the clamping plates and the sheet metal brackets are extremely simple and inexpensive components. While the same clamping plates are used for the different applications, only the sheet metal brackets need to have the shape suitable for the respective purpose.
  • the fitting according to the invention comprises, as essential parts, two identically designed clamping plates 1 and a separate connecting plate made of sheet metal, in particular of an approximately 2 mm thick sheet made of high-strength, stainless steel.
  • the connecting bracket 2 is a flat sheet metal piece with four holes 3, which has approximately twice the surface area as a clamping plate 1.
  • the clamping plates 1 have countersunk holes 4. They are clamped with the glass plate 5 with the interposition of the connecting bracket 2 , with the help of screw connections, each consisting of a countersunk sleeve 6 with an internal thread and a co-operating countersunk screw 7.
  • An intermediate layer 8 is interposed between the plate 1 and the glass plate 5 on one side and the connecting tab 2 and the glass plate 5 on the other side.
  • the fitting shown in Fig. 2 has the same basic structure, that is, it again comprises two Clamping plates 1, elastic intermediate layers 8, a connecting part and cover caps 10.
  • an angle bracket 12 serves as the connecting part.
  • the width B of the two legs 13, 14 of the angle bracket 12 is in each case a few millimeters larger than the width of the clamping plates 1.
  • the leg 14 extends at right angles to the surface of the glass plate 5 and serves to fasten a second glass plate which is to be arranged at a right angle to the glass plate 5, the attachment of the leg 14 on the other glass plate in an analogous manner, that is to say also with the aid of clamping plates 1, intermediate layers 8 and screw connections 6, 7.
  • the fitting shown in FIG. 3 also consists in its basic structure of two clamping plates 1 which are braced with the glass plate 16 with the aid of screw connections 6, 7 with the interposition of a connecting strap and an elastic intermediate layer 8 each.
  • the clamping plates 1 are in turn covered by cover caps 10.
  • an angle bracket 17 serves as the connecting strap.
  • the leg 18 of the angle bracket 17 clamped by the clamping plates 1 has approximately the area dimension as a clamping plate 1.
  • the leg 19 of the angle bracket 17 has a width C that is approximately the thickness D of the glass plate 16 corresponds. It is bent at right angles to the glass plate 16 and lies in the assembled state on the edge surface 20 of the glass plate 16 or runs parallel to it at a short distance.
  • the leg 19 of the angle bracket 17 is provided with one or more bores 22 which are used for fastening the angle bracket 17 to the adjacent one Component serves.
  • the leg 19 can be fastened with the aid of a screw, the screw head of which then lies within the body of the glass plate 16.
  • a semicircular cutout 23 is made on the edge of the glass plate 16, which is made in a simple manner, like the holes 9 in the glass plate, using a suitable drilling tool.
  • FIG. 4 and 5 show an application example for the fitting shown in Fig. 1.
  • two glass plates 25, 26 are connected to one another in one plane with the aid of four clamping plates 1 and a flat connecting strap 2.
  • the clamping plates 1 are clamped together with the aid of the threaded sleeves 6 and the screws 7 with the interposition of the intermediate layers 8 and the connecting bracket 2.
  • the four clamping plates 1 are covered by four decorative caps 10.
  • FIG. 7 and 8 show a connection between a side part consisting of a glass plate 28 and a skylight consisting of a glass plate 29 of an all-glass door system with the aid of a fitting according to the invention.
  • the fitting is composed of a total of two clamping plates 1 of the type and size described so far, which are screwed to the glass plate 28, and two clamping plates 30, which are half the size of the clamping plates 1 and which are screwed to the glass plate 29.
  • the clamping plates 30 can be produced on the spot by sawing a clamping plate 1 in the middle, but of course also small clamping plates 30 belonging to the fitting system can be kept in stock.
  • a connecting strap 32 which has the shape shown in FIG. 6 and which not only corresponds to the area of a clamping plate 1 and a clamping plate 30, but which, on the other hand, is still enlarged by the area designated 32 '.
  • This part 32 'of the connecting plate 32 serves as a stop plate for the wing of a stop door, not shown.
  • the fitting is assembled as described in the previous examples.
  • the clamping plates 1 and the clamping plates 30 are each clamped to one another with the interposition of the connecting strap 32 and elastic intermediate layers 8 with the aid of screws 7 and screw sleeves 6.
  • the clamping plates 1 are covered with cover caps 10, and the clamping plates 30 are covered with decorative caps 33.
  • FIG. 9 and 10 illustrate the connection of two glass plates 35 and 36, the glass plate 36 extending perpendicular to the glass plate 35, so that seen in the horizontal section according to FIG. 9, a T-shaped arrangement of the two glass plates 35, 36 results in the region of their connection .
  • the embodiment of the fitting as shown in FIG. 2 is used. Accordingly, six clamping plates 1 and two angle brackets 12 are required for the entire connection. With the interposition of the angle brackets 12 and elastic intermediate layers 8, the clamping plates 1 are each clamped together with the aid of the screw connections 6, 7. After assembly, the clamping plates 1 are covered by decorative caps 10.
  • 11 to 14 show two different applications of the fitting parts, as shown in Fig. 3.
  • 11 and 12 show the case where a glass plate 38 is attached to a stationary one Connects component, for example a wall element 39.
  • the basic elements of the fitting namely two clamping plates 1
  • the glass plate 38 is provided with the semicircular edge cutout 23 at the point at which the bore 22 is located in the angle bracket.
  • the angle bracket 17 is first screwed to the wall element 39 with the aid of a screw 40. Then the glass plate 38 is placed against the angle bracket with the interposition of an elastic intermediate layer 8 and screwed to the angle bracket with the aid of two clamping plates 1 and two screw connections 6, 7. Finally, the clamping plates 1 are covered by the cover caps 10.
  • the same fitting, shown in detail in FIG. 3, is used in the oscillating wing 42 shown in FIGS. 13 and 14, which is rotatably mounted about the axis A-A.
  • the bore 22 in the leg 19 of the angle bracket 17 serves in this case as a pivot bearing in which the pivot 43 engages.
  • the pivot 43 is arranged in the holding plate 44, which is fastened with screws 45 in the adjacent component 46, for example a window frame or the like.
  • the disk 47 surrounding the pivot pin 43 serves as a support and ensures the required distance between the leg 19 of the angle bracket and the holding plate 44.
