Definitions

  • the invention relates to a skylight fitting, which interacts with an all-glass door wing and consists of two fitting plates which can be clamped together by means of screws which penetrate holes in the glass plate forming the skylight, the fitting plates on the side lying against the glass plate not projecting beyond the contact plane have and a component forming a hinge part can be screwed to a fitting plate.
  • All-glass door systems consist of frameless glass plates and one or more frameless door leaves, the door leaves being provided with rotating fittings arranged at the corners of the door leaf, the upper rotating fitting of which cooperates with a counterbearing which is fastened to the glass plate forming the skylight of the door system.
  • the doors can be designed as stop doors or as swing doors, so that the counter bearing can be provided with different hinge parts, namely either a cantilevered pivot bracket in the case of a stop door or a pivot pin or pivot bearing arranged in the plane of the door leaf in the case of a swing door.
  • the fittings that support the hinge part and serve as counter bearings are fastened in different ways. If, for example, the glass plate forming the skylight is clamped laterally, the counter bearing is only screwed to the glass plate. In other designs, the fitting forming the counterbearing also serves to fasten the glass plate forming the skylight to the component which adjoins the side.
  • Various fittings have hitherto been used for these different purposes.
  • fanlight fittings are required which interact with the door leaf.
  • a skylight fitting is required that has a stop for the door leaf.
  • Different versions of the fittings are also required for these applications.
  • the known skylight fittings always only fulfill one of the functions mentioned. As a result, different versions of the skylight fittings have to be manufactured and kept in stock. This means not only an increased manufacturing effort, but also a considerable effort in the storage of the fittings. Finally, there is a risk for the user himself that mix-ups occur when ordering the fittings, which are only recognized during assembly and which lead to delays in assembly.
  • a skylight fitting of the type mentioned is known from GB-A 845 327.
  • the fitting plate can simultaneously clamp the glass plate forming the skylight and a further glass plate that adjoins the side and thus be connected to one another, but this fitting is not suitable for connecting the glass plate forming the skylight to another component that adjoins the side fasten.
  • this known fitting merely provides for a hinge part to be arranged with a pivot pin lying in the plane of the door leaf between the two fitting plates. This known skylight fitting is therefore also limited in its applications to certain applications
  • the invention has for its object to provide a skylight fitting system in which one and the same base body of the fitting can be used for a wide variety of functions that a skylight fitting has to perform.
  • this object is achieved in that at least one of the fitting plates has an additional threaded hole for fastening a corner lining piece protruding into a cutout in the glass plate forming the skylight, and that either the component forming the hinge part or one with the glass leaf of the door leaf or can be screwed to the fitting plate with a lock case, which cooperates with a lock case attached to the glass leaf.
  • the invention provides a skylight fitting set which can be used for all the commonly occurring functions of a skylight fitting in an all-glass door system consisting of one or two door wings arranged next to one another and a skylight spanning the door wing or doors, by the optional use of either the fitting plates alone without additional lining or insert pieces, or by selecting and arranging one or more additional parts that are attached to one of the fitting plates.
  • the additional parts to be used themselves are relatively small and inexpensive to manufacture.
  • all additional parts to be combined with the fitting plates are put together together with the two fitting plates, the associated cover plates and the necessary screws and intermediate layers to form a fitting set which is sold as a whole.
  • the additional parts not required can be discarded if necessary.
  • the fitting plates 1 and 2 are arranged in the lower corner areas of the glass plate forming the skylight on both sides of the glass plate and screwed together.
  • the upper bores or threaded bores 3, 4, 5 are used for the mutual screw connection. Congruent with these holes 3, 4, 5 are holes drilled in the glass plate through which the screw bolts with which the fitting plates are clamped together are inserted.
  • the screw connection that is to say the screws and the corresponding threads in the fitting plates, is carried out in a known manner, the screw heads each being recessed in the fitting plates such that they do not project beyond the surface of the fitting plates.
  • the threads interacting with the screws can be attached directly in the fitting plates. Instead, however, internally threaded sleeves can also be pressed into the bores 3, 4, 5, as is also known.
  • the fitting plates have no projecting parts on the inner surfaces 6, which lie against the glass surface with the interposition of suitable elastic intermediate layers. In this way, the two fitting plates 1, 2 can lie over the entire surface of the glass surface, which in this case has no edge cutout for the arrangement of a functional part.
  • the two fitting plates 1, 2 each have two threaded bores 7, 8. These tapped holes 7, 8 are used for fastening a hinge part.
  • an insert 9 is fastened on the fitting plate 1 in the threaded bores 7, 8 and carries a pivot pin 10.
  • a corresponding edge cutout must be provided in the edge region of the glass plate.
  • a cantilevered pivot bracket 11 carrying the pivot bearing or the pivot is screwed onto the outside of one of the fitting plates 1 or 2, likewise by screwing in the corresponding fastening screws into the two threaded holes 7 and 8.
  • the fitting plates 1, 2 are covered by decorative caps 12, 13.
  • the decorative cap 13 is provided with a cutout 14 corresponding to the fastening foot of the rotating bracket 11.
  • the fitting plate 1 and optionally also the fitting plate 2 have a further threaded hole 16 in the lower corner region adjacent to the side edge of the glass plate.
  • This threaded bore 16, together with the threaded bore 5, serves to fasten a corner chuck piece 18 on the fitting plate 1, if necessary, with the aid of two screws 19, 20.
  • the corner chuck 18 is provided with two bores 21, 22, of which the bore 21 is arranged in a projection 23 arranged on the upper inner corner of the corner chuck 18.
  • This projection 23 ends in the shape of a circular cylinder segment, which finds place in the hole in the glass plate, which forms the corner region of the glass cutout, in which the corner chuck piece 18 is arranged.
  • the corner chuck 18 has a horizontal threaded bore 24 and 25 above and below the bore 22. These threaded bores 24, 25 serve for the lateral fastening of the fitting to a lateral component, for example in masonry or on a frame.
  • a wall anchor 26 can be screwed into one of the threaded bores 24, 25, for example.
  • the attachment to a wooden frame can be carried out, for example, via a fastening tab 27 which is screwed to the corner chuck 18 on the one hand with screws 28, 29 and to the wooden frame with screws 30 on the other hand.
  • the corner chuck piece 18 integrated in the fitting can also be fastened to the adjacent component in a different way via the threaded bores 24 and / or 25.
  • the fitting set also includes a stop plate 32 which is screwed to the fitting plate 1 with a fastening tab 33.
  • the fastening tab 33 can rest on the continuously flat surface of the fitting plate 1, in which case in the elastic intermediate layer (not shown) which is interposed between the fitting plate 1 and the glass surface and which has a thickness which is at least the thickness of the Fastening bracket 33 corresponds to a cutout corresponding to the size of this fastening bracket 33 is to be provided.
  • a recess 34 corresponding to the fastening tab 33 is provided in the fitting plates 1 and 2, which receives the fastening tab in such a way that it closes flush with the surface of the fitting plate.
  • a recess 15 for the fastening tab 33 is provided in the lower side wall of the decorative cap 12.
  • the stop plate 32 can be a flat part if it serves as a stop directly for the glass leaf of the door. If, however, a fitting, for example a corner lock, is also arranged at the corresponding point of the door, a cranked stop plate is to be used, as shown in FIG. 1, whose section 35 serving as a stop is bent back so far that with the door leaf closed Lock case abuts this section 35.
  • An additional chuck 36 can be attached to this cranked stop plate 32 with screws 37 and, when using a cranked stop plate, serves to move the stop plane so far forward that the cranked stop plate is also suitable for the system directly on the glass sheet.
  • a double corner chuck 39 is provided as a further insert.
  • This double corner chuck piece 39 can be used to connect two skylight fittings directly to one another by being screwed through the holes 40, 41 to a fitting plate 1 and through the holes 42, 43 to a further fitting plate 1.
  • the corner chuck 18 is otherwise dimensioned such that the lateral boundary surface projects beyond the fitting plate by the measure of the thickness of the side wall of the decorative cap 12, in order to leave sufficient space for the side wall of the decorative caps to be pushed onto the fitting plate when connected to a lateral component.
  • FIGS. 2 / 2a to 7 / 7a shows a door system in which the glass plate 45 forming the skylight is fastened to the frame structure surrounding the skylight, for example by means of glass retaining strips 46.
  • the skylight fitting 48 has no fastening function for the glass plate 45, but merely serves as a counter bearing for the door fitting 49, which is exclusively fastened to the glass plate 45, the fittings 48 and 49 each carrying a hinge part. Since the door 50 is a stop door, no insert is connected to the fitting plates of the fitting 48.
  • the glass plate 45 accordingly has no edge cutout, but only three holes 51, and the two fitting plates of the fitting 48 are clamped together by means of three screws which penetrate these holes 51.
  • 3 / 3a shows an embodiment in which the glass plate 53 forming the skylight is fastened to the frame or component surrounding the door system with the aid of corner fittings 54, 55, the door 56 also being designed as a stop door in this case.
  • the fittings 54 and 55 are fastened with the aid of a corner chuck 18, which is screwed to a fitting plate.
  • the corner chuck piece 18, which is not shown as such for the sake of a better overview, is arranged within the cutout 57 at the corner of the glass pane 53. It is attached to the adjacent component with the aid of means as described with reference to FIG. 1.
  • the skylight fitting according to the invention is used on one side as a counter bearing 48 for the door fitting 49 and on the other side as a fitting 58 which forms a stop for the door leaf 59.
  • the glass plate 60 forming the skylight is fastened by glass retaining strips 46, so that the two fittings 48 and 58 as such have no direct connection to the door frame or door reveal, but rather their function exclusively is to cooperate with the door leaf 59.
  • the glass plate 60 has no edge cutout, but is only provided with three bores 51, which are used for fastening the fitting to the glass plate.
  • the fitting 58 in this case consists of the two fitting plates 1, 2, and the stop plate 32 and the chuck 36 screwed to this stop plate 32, against which the door leaf 59 comes to rest.
  • FIG. 5 / 5a shows an exemplary embodiment of a swing door 62 which is provided with an upper corner lock 63.
  • the skylight fitting 64 according to the invention interacts with this corner lock 63 in such a way that it forms the cavity for the bolt of the lock 63.
  • an enlarged cutout 66 is made in the glass plate 65, which extends as far as the central bore 51 '.
  • the outer section of this cavity is used for the arrangement of a corner chuck piece 18 which is screwed via the threaded holes 3 and 16 to a fitting plate of the fitting 64 and fastened laterally to the adjacent door frame, while the adjoining section of the cavity, which is above the two holes 51 and 51 'is limited, for receiving the bolt of the lock 63.
  • FIG. 6 / 6a and 7 / 7a show two exemplary embodiments for double door systems in which the fitting according to the invention is used with an additional function.
  • the two stop doors 68, 69 which can be opened in opposite directions, are arranged in such a way that their axes of rotation are immediately adjacent.
  • the two rotary fittings 70 and 71 work together with two skylight fittings 72 and 73, which form the counter bearings for the rotary fittings 70 and 71 and which are provided on opposite sides with a cantilevered pivot bracket 11 (FIG. 1).
  • the two fittings 72 and 73 are connected to one another by a double corner chuck piece 39 (FIG. 1) which is screwed to the fitting 72 on one side and to the fitting 73 on the other side.
  • the glass plates 74a, 74b forming the skylight are each provided with three bores 51, of which the outermost bores in each case form the upper corner points of the edge cutouts 75, within which the double corner chuck piece 39 is accommodated.
  • the two skylight fittings 76 and 77 are connected to one another by a double corner lining piece 39 which is arranged in the edge cutouts 75.
  • the fittings 76 and 77 serve, as in the example shown in FIGS. 4 / 4a, to form the stops for the two door leaves 78 and 79.
  • the stop Sheets 32 are arranged alternately when the two door leaves 78, 79 open in the opposite direction.
