Definitions
- the invention relates to a process for the production of methanol in chemical quality by distillation of crude methanol in several distillation stages with separation into methanol in chemical quality exhaust gas and fusel oil.
- the crude methanol is worked up by distillation in two stages.
- the first stage also called “topping part”
- the low-boiling components i.e. lighter than methanol
- the second stage which can have both one and more distillation columns and is called the “refining part”
- the high-boiling components i. H. heavier than methanol, e.g. Water separated.
- this separation is associated with the problem of changing the concentration profile methanol / EtanoINVasser / pressure.
- a residual ethanol content of max e.g. a residual ethanol content of max.
- fusel oil is a mixture of methanol, water and higher alcohols such as ethanol, propanol and others.
- the methanol content of the fusel oil is so high that, based on the methanol content in the raw methanol, approx. 1.5% of the methanol production is lost.
- EP-A-40481 discloses a methanol production process in which, based on the synthesis gas production from natural gas, methanol in chemical quality is ultimately obtained by multi-stage distillation.
- the separated fusel oil stream with more than 50% methanol is returned to the feed natural gas and reduces the methanol yield to max. 98.5%.
- the fusel oil recirculation increases the size of the system components and thus increases the energy required in the distillation.
- the invention has for its object to reduce the previous methanol loss in fusel oil.
- the method according to the invention it is achieved that the methanol loss is reduced from previously 1.5% to only 0.2% of the methanol in the raw methanol from the methanol synthesis.
- the energy required for this is out of proportion to the product gain.
- the profit is about 30 t per day.
- the removal of the return product for the fusel oil distillation stage from the last methanol distillation stage results in a specifically lower energy requirement.
- the raw methanol is fed to the “topping column” 1 in the middle in a known manner.
- the raw methanol is heated via the heat exchanger 2.
- the constituents which have a lower boiling point than methanol leave the top of the column as output, are separated from entrained methanol in a condensate section 3 and are available for further processing.
- the crude methanol pre-cleaned in this way from the bottom of the “topping column” is fed to the “refining stage” I with column 4.
- the top product from this column 4 heats the reboiler 5 of the column 6 of the “refining stage” 11, into which the bottom product of the column 4 leads to further distillation.
- the condensate from the reboiler 5 is partly reflux and partly pure methanol of the purity grade AA.
- An output stream, so-called fusel oil, is withdrawn from the column 4 via line 7.
- the top product of column 6 is condensed in a known manner and drawn off as reflux and obtained as pure methanol.
- the bottom product is essentially water, which can be recycled.
- the fusel oil also withdrawn from column 6 via line 8 from the stripping section of column 6 is combined with the fusel oil in line 7 and fed to the methanol recovery system 9. Due to the high reflux ratio in this system, there is a good separation effect with respect to the residual methanol.
- the methanol taken off has a purity of AA and the fusel oil obtained as the bottom product is discharged for further use.

Description
- Fig. 1 Verfahrensschema einer Rohmethanol-Destillation;
- Fig. 2a Diagramm Methanol/Äthanol in Abhängigkeit vom Druck;
- Fig. 2b Diagramm Methanol/Äthanol in der Abtriebssäule.
- Fig. 2b zeigt, dass in der Abtriebssäule am 52.
