Definitions

  • the invention relates to a press for textile fibers with a press ram, a press base and a press box casing surrounding it laterally, the walls of which are pivotally mounted to one another and can be locked together in the pressing position by a locking device which consists of a piston-cylinder device with a locking member which is pivotably mounted at the end of a wall exists that bears against the box wall arranged perpendicular to it in the closed position. (see preamble of claim 1).
  • Presses of the type mentioned are known in various embodiments and are used in particular for producing large bales from short or long fibers.
  • the fibers in the press box become denser and press against the box walls with a relatively great force, which often causes difficulties when opening the locking device. After the pressing process, it is under such high prestress that it is difficult to open.
  • FR-A-2 297 217 discloses a press for textile fibers of the type mentioned initially. It is important for such a device for closing the press box jacket walls that its function is simple and therefore robust, that it holds the chamber walls together against the several tons of internal pressure during pressing and that they remove the press box jacket walls from one another after the pressing process Bale standing press pressure allows without destroying parts or swinging the press box jacket walls away from each other with audible noise due to the high press pressure.
  • the locking mechanism after the French publication does not meet these requirements in the long run.
  • the construction of the locking device is very complex. Also, the engagement of the locking bar on the adjacent closing wall is ensured only a short time after the locking device begins to open, whereupon it will then swing open with spring pressure, which means a danger for the workers operating the press.
  • US-A-3 099 205 the device of which also corresponds to the genus.
  • the piston-cylinder device rigidly attached here, has at its closing end a bracket that can be pivoted over the wall to be closed.
  • the bracket can be moved by hand. It is obvious that it is not possible to move the bracket in the pressed state to open the door. An operator is also required for this.
  • the invention has for its object to provide measures to ensure a proper automatic closing and opening of the locking device for the swing-open walls of the press box.
  • the invention provides that the locking member is arranged at the free end of the piston of the piston-cylinder device and the axis of the piston-cylinder device in the closed position intersects the planes of the two lockable walls at an angle.
  • the locking device only works non-positively and holds the walls to be locked together solely on the basis of the closing force applied by the piston-cylinder device.
  • FIG. 1 for the manufacture of bales from textile fibers has at least one press ram 2 and a press box 3, the walls 4 and 5 or 6 and 7 of which are pivotably arranged on a support frame 8 or against one another and can be locked together in the closed position.
  • the upper end of the press 1 is like the drive for the press die 2 in the figures not shown, since these parts are generally known and are not the subject of the invention.
  • the two opposing walls 4 and 5 of the press box 3 are pivotally mounted on the support frame 8 on axes 9, 10.
  • the wall 6 is mounted on the one wall 5 so as to be pivotable about an axis 11 and the last wall 7 is articulated on the two opposing walls 4 and 5 with the aid of links 12, 13, 14 and 15. If the two walls 4 and 5 therefore pivot apart from the closed position according to FIG. 2 into the open position according to FIG. 3, the wall 7 moves a bit outwards perpendicularly to its plane.
  • the handlebars 12-15 carrying the wall 7 are expediently curved, as can be seen from the figures.
  • the wall 6 is only pivotably pivotable by a few degrees relative to the wall 5 and, according to the exemplary embodiment, is provided with a locking device 16.
  • This locking device 16 consists of piston-cylinder devices 17 which are pivotally mounted on the wall 5 and each have a locking member 18 at their free end 19.
  • Two piston-cylinder devices 17 are expediently mounted on the wall 6 in brackets 20 and 21 about axes 22 and 23 and can be moved from the closed position shown in FIG. 2 to the position shown in FIG. 3 with the aid of piston-cylinder device 24. on »swivel.
  • the locking member 18 of the locking device 16 is a rigidly arranged at the free end 19 of the piston rod 25, approximately hemispherical or spherical holding piece, the diameter of which is larger than the piston rod diameter.
  • the locking member or holding piece 18 with its hemispherical holding surface 26 is assigned a holding part 27 with a dome-shaped holding surface 28 with an entry slot 29 on the other wall 4. Details of this are shown in FIGS. 3 and 4.
  • the piston rod 25 enters the entry slot 29, whereupon the piston is displaced into the interior of the cylinder 30 of the piston-cylinder device 17.
  • the holding piece 18 lies in the dome-shaped holding surface 28 and closes the press box in a force-fitting manner.
  • the closing pressure in the cylinder 30 is first gradually reduced, for example by switching on a throttle, until the bale in the press box no longer exerts pressure on the walls 4-7. Then the piston rod 25 is moved outwards until it has completely released the holding part 27 and the walls can be pivoted apart.
  • all parts of the locking device 16 are arranged in such a way that the axis or the axes 31 (see FIG. 2) of the piston-cylinder devices 17 in the closed position intersect the planes 32 and 33 of the two interlocked walls 4 and 6.
  • each of the two pivot axes 9 and 10 of the walls 4, 5 is supported on a spring 34 which is arranged in a bore 35 in the base frame or support frame 8.
  • the walls 4 and 5 are preferably rigidly connected to the axis 9 and 10 assigned to them and are thereby acted upon vertically upwards by the springs 34 or the walls 4, 5 are supported on the very strong springs 34.
  • the walls 4 and 5 are connected to the axes 9 and 10 via brackets 36-38, which are guided or supported in lower bearings 39 and upper bearings 40. From the upper bearings 40, the axles 9 and 10 still pull out a little and each carry a gear 41 and 42, respectively, which are connected to each other in opposite directions via meshing intermediate wheels 43 and 44.
  • a swivel lever 45 protrudes from the one gear wheel 41, which can be adjusted by a piston-cylinder device 46, which is articulated with its one end 47 on the swivel lever 45 and with its other end 48 on a box upper part 49 of the press 1. As soon as the piston-cylinder device 46 pivots the pivot lever 45, the two walls 4 and 5 open or close synchronously.
  • the support frame 8 is essentially U-shaped or yoke-shaped and comprises a base plate 50 and a bearing plate 51 on which a plurality of pressure pieces 52 are arranged for each press box wall 4-7. Two pressure pieces 52 are preferably assigned to each wall, as can be seen from FIG. 3.
  • the springs 34 are a lifting device which ensures that the walls 4-7 open and close without contact.
  • the press die 2 works in the press box 3 against a base 54, but it goes without saying that, instead of the rigidly arranged base 54, a lower, second movable counter-die could also be provided without thereby leaving the core of the invention.
  • the bottom 54 rests on an intermediate piece 55, which is located between the pressure pieces 52, 53 and is arranged on top of the bearing plate 51.
  • the U-shaped support frame has a support member 56 above the bearing plate 51 or the base 54 and laterally or behind the axes 9 and 10, the upper end 57 of which projects horizontally and the upper bearing 40 for the axes 9 and 10 and further carries the box top 49 with the press ram 2.
