Abstract

515,835. Baling presses. MILLS & SON, Ltd., E. and BLEASDALE, F. June 9. 1938, No. 17122. [Class 94 (i)] In a baling or other press, the press K, K<1> is arranged diagonally between angle iron supports B, which carry supports C for the pressing plate actuating apparatus. One short side K and one long side K<1> is hinged at k to the supports B, and are adapted to be fastened, when in the closed position, by devices such as are described in Specification 515,836, [Group XXV]. The pressing-plate F is diagonally mounted to conform with the box, and is provided with projections f passing between the supports B to prevent rotation. A screw E, fixed to the plate. passes through a tapped bush in a wheel G rotated by a motor g<3>. A switch g<5> provides for automatic starting or stopping. A part of one of the sides K<1> may be hinged to allow access for filling, In a modification, the sides K, K<1> may be formed as one, each part being hinged to one upright and being adapted to be clamped to the other. In this form, the plates F, H have their corners removed to form flat edges which conform to the uprights.
