Definitions
- a maximum overall length (in Germany, for example, 18 m) is set for such a truck and trailer, which must not be exceeded. Since a distance must be maintained between the towing vehicle and the trailer to enable cornering, the maximum total length here contains a dead space that cannot be used for transport. This distance between the towing vehicle and the trailer essentially depends on the width of the towing vehicle or its structure and is conventionally approximately 1.60 m or 2.00 m.
- a trailer coupling is used to connect the trailer to the towing vehicle, in which the towing fork of the trailer is locked. This trailer coupling is usually attached to a cross member at the rear end of the towing vehicle frame.
- the object of the invention is to increase the usable part of the total length of the trailer truck by reducing the distance between the towing vehicle and the trailer without restricting the cornering ability of the trailer truck.
- the position of the coupling can be determined from a practical point of view.
- Fig. 1 shows schematically in side view a truck according to the invention
- the trailer 2 is shown in the form of a tandem trailer.
- the towing vehicle 1 has a vehicle frame 11, on the rear transverse console 12 of which a first trailer coupling 13 is attached in the usual manner.
- This trailer coupling 13 is not necessary for the teaching according to the invention, but is advantageously to be provided so that the towing vehicle 1 can also be used with conventional trailers.
- a second trailer coupling 14 is fastened to a hanging support device 15 beneath the vehicle frame 11 and displaced in the forward direction of travel relative to its rear end.
- the second trailer coupling 14 lies so far below the vehicle frame 11 that the drawbar 21 of the trailer 2 can freely rotate about the articulation point in the trailer coupling 14.
- To g fork 21 is arranged correspondingly low.
- the clutch 14 can be provided with a (for example hydraulic) remote control and an electrical control display in the driver's cab.
- FIG. 2 shows a top view of the truck from FIG. 1, the dashed line 2 showing the trailer 2 in a position pivoted about the articulation point on the towing vehicle 1.
- the dimensions entered as an example in FIGS. 1 and 2 are to be understood in mm.
- the distance between the towing vehicle 1 and the trailer 2 can be considerably reduced compared to previously possible values with the same cornering ability. If the maximum length of the entire road train is specified, the trailer can be made longer.
- Fig. 3 shows schematically a side view of this truck
- Fig. 4 is a plan view and dashed the state at an approximately 90 ° pivoting between the truck and trailer. While in the previous embodiment only one rotation between the towing vehicle 1 and the trailer 2 about the articulation point on the towing vehicle, that is to say about the axis designated in FIG. 3 with AA, had to be taken into account, there is an additional rotation about that in FIG designated axis of rotation of the steering axis 22 of the trailer 2.
- the distance a can have the specified relationship fulfilled, alone can not be guaranteed that for all possible combinations of angles of the drawbar 21 with the longitudinal central axis of the towing vehicle formed angle a on the one hand and with the longitudinal central axis of the trailer formed angle ß on the other hand, a collision of towing vehicle 1 and trailer 2 is avoided. If one designates the distance between the axis of rotation BB of the steering axis 22 of the trailer from the front end of the trailer with c (see FIG. 3) and half the width of the trailer with e (see FIG. 4), then rather applies in this case
- the distance b between the towing vehicle 1 and the trailer 2 would have to be exactly twice as large as in the case of the tandem trailer of FIGS. 1 and 2.
- This increase in the distance b can be avoided by changing the length 1 between the axes of rotation AA and BB, which is to be referred to here as the effective length of the drawbar, when the steering axis 22 rotates about its axis of rotation BB. That means you choose is a function of the angle ß already defined.
- FIG. 5 and 6 schematically show a first embodiment in a side view and a plan view form the drawbar 22 with variable effective length 1, which is to be referred to as extension drawbar.
- Fig. 5 23 denotes a part of the hanger frame, on the underside of which the stationary part 30 of a ball slewing ring is fastened in a suitable manner.
- the lower part 32 of this ball slewing ring in turn carries a bogie 34 which serves for the axle suspension.
- the bogie 34 is connected to a boom 38 pointing in the direction of the actual fork 36.
- Another ball slewing ring is attached to the underside of this arm 38, the movable part 40 of which carries a kind of crank arm 42.
- the fork 36 has two arms 36a, 36b which are articulated on the bogie 34 via two joints 44a and 44b.
- the two arms 36a and 36b together carry a sleeve 46 at their front end.
- a further sleeve 48 is held at a distance from the sleeve 46 by an intermediate carrier 50 connecting the fork arms 36a and 36b.
- a push rod 52 is slidably received. At the front end, the push rod is provided with a towing eye 52a.
- a type of connecting rod 54 which is articulated on the one hand on the crank arm 42 and on the other hand on the push rod 58 via a respective universal joint, ball joint 56, 58 or the like, can rotate the crank arm 42 about its axis of rotation CC in a pushing or pulling movement the push rod 52 can be implemented relative to the fork 36.
- the movable part 40 of the second ball slewing ring, also referred to as the lower ring, and the stationary part of the first ball slewing ring, which can also be referred to as the upper ring, are each formed on their outer circumference as a rope wheel.
- a rope 60 is placed around these two rope wheels in the manner shown in FIG. 6. Both ends of the rope 60 can also be seen in FIG.
- the construction of the extension pull fork described above has a further advantage in that the effective length 1 changes not only depending on the angle ⁇ , but also depending on an inclination of the fork with respect to the horizontal. If, in particular, the fork 36 is folded upward (clockwise in FIG. 5) about the articulation axis of the articulations 44a and 44b, as is the case when driving over bumps, the push rod 52 is pushed out even without steering lock of the steering axis 22 and thereby prevented, that the structure of the towing vehicle and trailer collide at the top.
- FIG. 7 and 8 show another embodiment of the extension pull fork in a somewhat enlarged representation.
- the rotation of the crank arm 42 is not achieved via a rope, but via a chain 60 '.
- a gear 40 ′ which carries the crank arm 42, is rotatably mounted on the arm 38.
- a ball slewing ring can be provided, the lower ring of which is designed as a toothed ring on the outside.
- the upper ring 30 'of the ball slewing ring for the bogie is designed as a gear or ring gear.

Abstract
Description
A maximum overall length (in Germany, for example, 18 m) is set for such a truck and trailer, which must not be exceeded. A trailer coupling is used to connect the trailer to the towing vehicle, in which the towing fork of the trailer is locked. This trailer coupling is usually attached to a cross member at the rear end of the towing vehicle frame.
The object of the invention is to increase the usable part of the total length of the trailer truck by reducing the distance between the towing vehicle and the trailer without restricting the cornering ability of the trailer truck.
This object is achieved according to the invention in a trailer truck of the type specified in the preamble of
There is a practical limit to the forward movement of the towbar through the rear axle of the towing vehicle. Another limit that depends on the individual case arises from the fact that when cornering, the angle between the longitudinal axes of the towing vehicle and the trailer must not become arbitrarily large, since otherwise the required curve behavior is no longer met.
Between the minimum value of a determined by the above relationship and the specified limits, the position of the coupling can be determined from a practical point of view.
The full use of the above relationship, which is the pivoting of the trailer around his Strictly speaking, the articulation point on the towing vehicle only works for a trailer in which the drawbar is rigidly connected to the trailer frame, as is the case, for example, with a tandem trailer. If, on the other hand, it is a normal two-axle trailer whose front axle connected to the drawbar is designed as a rotatable steering axle, then the rotation of the trailer around the rotating axle of this steering axle must also be taken into account. This purpose is served by the development of the invention characterized in
Various configurations of the invention for achieving this change in length are contained in the further subclaims.

Fig. 1 shows schematically in side view a truck according to the invention, the
Die in den Fig. 1 und 2 als Beispiel eingetragenen Maße sind in mm zu verstehen.FIG. 2 shows a top view of the truck from FIG. 1, the
It can be seen that with the arrangement according to the invention of the
Anhand der Fig. 3 bis 8 soll nun eine weitere Ausführungsform der Erfindung beschrieben werden, bei der es sich um einen Lastzug mit einem Anhänger mit Lenkachse handelt.3 to 8, another embodiment of the invention will now be described, which is a truck with a trailer with a steering axle.
For ß = 0, Δb = 0. For β = arctg (e / c) Ab = Δb MAX , where Δb MAX is the maximum extension of the effective length of the drawbar and should be referred to as the stroke. It is assumed that the value of c is not less than that of a, which can be considered to be fulfilled in practice.
An der Unterseite dieses Auslegers 38 ist ein weiterer Kugeldrehkranz befestigt, dessen bewegliches Teil 40 eine Art Kurbelarm 42 trägt.5 and 6 schematically show a first embodiment in a side view and a plan view form the
As can be seen from FIG. 6, the
By a suitable choice of the diameter of the
The construction of the extension pull fork described above has a further advantage in that the
In a departure from the previous embodiment, the rotation of the
Bei Führung des Seils in der dargestellten Form können die Spannschlösser 61 ohne Funktionsbeeinträchtigung weiter in den Bereich zwischen den genannten Seilrädern hineinlaufen, als es bei einer anderen Seilführung der Fall wäre.7 and 8 correspond to that of the previous embodiment, so that there is no need for a further explanation in this regard and, for the rest, reference is made to the illustration in the figures for details. that the guidance of the
