Abstract

The forecarriage includes: - a framework 10 articulated with respect to the chassis 9 of the trailer 5, by means of an orientation ring 11; - an axle 12, possibly a suspended axle, carried by the said framework 10; - a hitch 7 providing the link between the framework 10 and the hook 6 located to the rear of the lorry 1. The hitch 7 is located, in the normal position, in a substantially horizontal plane anchored to the framework 10 at the same level as the axis of the axle 12. The axle is arranged slightly set back from the vertical axis of gyration of the orientation ring 11; this set back lies between zero and fifteen centimetres, preferably five centimetres.
