Both require an acceptable level of efficiency with a relatively low number of revolutions, such as that provided by a shaded-pole motor coupled directly to the shaft of the impeller cheaply and reliably.
- the aim of the invention is to create a pump of the type mentioned at the outset which avoids these disadvantages and at the same time can be built as compactly as possible.
- the invention proposes a centrifugal pump with a rotor rotating in a work space, which is characterized in that this space is connected to the outlet line of the pump by a worm gear beginning at one end thereof, a first section of the worm gear forming an opening, which is too open to the side of the working area and the worm gear, as seen in the direction of flow, winds around the axis of rotation of the rotor with a progressively smaller radius and an increasingly greater pitch.
- both the outlet line of the pump and its connection to the work space lie entirely within the clear width of the work space determined parallel to the axis of rotation.
- FIG. 1 denotes a substantially cylindrical base body or stator, for example made of plastic, on the upper end of which a pressure line 2 and a guide tube 4 containing the drive shaft 3 are screwed.
- a pressure line 2 and a guide tube 4 containing the drive shaft 3 are screwed.
- an electric motor (not shown) attacks while the lower end of the rotor 5 is applied.
- the direction of rotation of the same is indicated by the arrow F in FIG. 2.
- the lower bearing of the shaft 3 is formed by its passage through the stator; since this bearing is lubricated by the liquid to be pumped, it can have a relatively large clearance, for example 3/10 mm.
- the liquid contained therein can optionally also be placed under a slight excess pressure.
- the rotor 5 forms an impeller with four flat blades 6, which are parallel to the shaft 3 and which are fastened to an overhead, round base plate 7. At their lower, outer periphery of the wings 6 are at an angle ⁇ of about 30 ° - 50 0 chamfered.
- a helical passage 8 is recessed, which - seen in the direction of flow, that is, in the direction of arrow G - leads from the periphery of the working space surrounding the impeller to the pressure line 2.
- the radius of the screw, measured from shaft 3, progressively decreases, while at the same time the pitch of the screw parallel to shaft 3 increases progressively until it becomes infinite at the upper mouth of the screw flight, so that it goes into line 2 parallel to the shaft without kinks transforms.
- this passage if it is milled out of the base body, will be open to the outside, ie, below point L in FIG. 1, it will only be closed radially outwards when the sleeve 9 provided in this embodiment surrounds the base body .
- This sleeve also limits the working space surrounding the impeller and occasionally forms the intake port 10 of the pump. It can also, in a manner not shown, be extended upwards and be designed as a support tube for the whole pump.
- Other manufacturing processes can the aisle, however, from its outlet opening in the pressure line 2 to its opposite junction in the periphery of the work space, be enclosed on all sides in the base body. In the lower mouth area, the course of which can be seen clearly from FIG.
- the part of the passage cut out of the base body tapers and forms only a tapering channel. If one imagines this to be a passageway with a reasonably constant cross-section, then this would ultimately lie almost entirely in the work space from which the helical passageway is not separated in its upstream estuary. In this part, which is open on the side, along with the depth of the gutter recessed from the base body, the incline of the corridor, which was thought to be the full cross section, drops to almost zero. This open part, which in FIG. 2 extends almost over 360 °, will preferably not extend over less than about 180 °, and will flow evenly into the work area. Likewise, the whole aisle should of course be as free of kinks as possible. On the other hand, the presence of a base body is not necessary, since the passage can also be formed, for example, by a suitably fastened tube which is wound into a screw.
- the sleeve 9 made of sheet metal in the described embodiment is pushed over the base body and fastened to it. It is constricted at point 11, at the same angle as the impeller. Below it, it expands again and carries an intake filter 12 at its lower end 10.
- the sleeve on the constriction 11 is closed on the end face, as indicated by the dash-dotted line A.
- the suction can then take place through one or more through bores in the base body, which connect the working space with the outside space around the pump, without to touch the snail gear.
- Such a bore is shown in dash-dotted lines in FIG. 2 and is designated by B.
- the suction on the top of the stator that this enables can be advantageous.
- FIG. 3 shows a section of the shaft 3 leading from the impeller 5 to the drive motor (not shown). This is guided loosely, for example with a play of 1/2 mm, in the guide tube 4.
- the space 13 between the shaft and the tube will be at least partially filled with the liquid to be pumped during operation of the pump, due to the excess pressure existing in the upper part of the working space and the aforementioned loose mounting of the shaft in the base body.
- the pressure of the liquid in the intermediate space 13 can be achieved by attaching a pressure passage D (FIGS.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a centrifugal pump, in particular one with a rotor, which is accommodated in a working space which is provided in order to be at least partially immersed in the liquid to be conveyed. Such pumps are known in large numbers and serve a wide variety of purposes, from pumping out the groundwater to lifting chemicals from drums and other vessels. Since this type of flooded pump with a drive motor generally arranged above the liquid level usually consists of a few parts, places little demands on the seals and is accordingly low-maintenance, it is used above all where either dirty or aggressive media are to be pumped, and also where cheapness of manufacture and extremely long, trouble-free operation are important. Both require an acceptable level of efficiency with a relatively low number of revolutions, such as that provided by a shaded-pole motor coupled directly to the shaft of the impeller cheaply and reliably.
Since the type of pumps mentioned at the outset is particularly suitable for use as a container, lowerable. Suitable so-called barrel pumps, it is also desirable to keep the outer dimension of the pump body as small as possible so that the pump can be lowered into a container by a narrow opening.
Very simple pumps of this type exist, as described for example in Swiss Patent Nos. 95.098 or 444.673, in which the pump body is relatively bulky. Other known designs. such as those of Swiss Patent Nos. 243,663, 450,925 or 599,467 are again quite complex to construct and are particularly demanding effective seals and play-free bearings.
The aim of the invention is to create a pump of the type mentioned at the outset which avoids these disadvantages and at the same time can be built as compactly as possible.
For this purpose, the invention proposes a centrifugal pump with a rotor rotating in a work space, which is characterized in that this space is connected to the outlet line of the pump by a worm gear beginning at one end thereof, a first section of the worm gear forming an opening, which is too open to the side of the working area and the worm gear, as seen in the direction of flow, winds around the axis of rotation of the rotor with a progressively smaller radius and an increasingly greater pitch. In another embodiment, both the outlet line of the pump and its connection to the work space lie entirely within the clear width of the work space determined parallel to the axis of rotation.
The invention will be explained in more detail below with the aid of variants of a preferred exemplary embodiment.
- 1 is a partially sectioned view of the pump,
- Fig. 2 is a view of the base body of FIG. 1 from below, and
- Fig. 3 shows a portion of the drive shaft with its guide.
In FIG. 1, 1 denotes a substantially cylindrical base body or stator, for example made of plastic, on the upper end of which a pressure line 2 and a
In the simple embodiment described, the
In the stator 1, a
For manufacturing reasons, this passage, if it is milled out of the base body, will be open to the outside, ie, below point L in FIG. 1, it will only be closed radially outwards when the
In another variant, only indicated and not shown separately, the sleeve on the
to touch the snail gear. Such a bore is shown in dash-dotted lines in FIG. 2 and is designated by B. For certain applications, the suction on the top of the stator that this enables can be advantageous.
