Description
- Hintergrund der Erfindung
- Diese Erfindung betrifft Phosphatester-funktionelle Fluids und insbesondere Phosphatester-Fluids mit verbesserter thermischer, hydrolytischer und oxidativer Stabilität, die als Hydraulikfluids in Flugzeugen verwendbar sind.
- Funktionelle Fluids wurden als elektronische Kühlmittel, Diffusionspumpenfluids, Schmiermittel, Dämpfungsfluids, Fettbasen, Energieübertragungs- und Hydraulikfluids, Wärmetransferfluids, Wärmepumpenfluids, Kühlausrüstungsfluids, und als Filtermedien für Klimaanlagensysteme verwendet. Hydraulikfluids, die zur Verwendung im Hydrauliksystem von Flugzeugen für den Betrieb verschiedener Mechanismen und Flugzeugsteuersystemen bestimmt sind, müssen strenge funktionelle und betriebliche Anforderungen erfüllen. Zu den wichtigsten Anforderungen eines Hydraulikfluids für Flugzeuge zählt, daß es gegen oxidativen und hydrolytischen Abbau bei erhöhten Temperaturen stabil sein muß.
- Im Betrieb werden Hydraulikfluids in Flugzeugen üblicherweise mit Feuchtigkeit versetzt. Wasser tritt in das Hydrauliksystem mit Luft ein, die aus einer Triebwerk-Kompressorstufe austritt. Während des Betriebs liegt der Feuchtigkeitsgehalt in Typ IV-Hydraulikfluids für Flugzeuge normalerweise im Bereich von etwa 0,2 bis etwa 0,35 Masse-%. Wasser bewirkt die hydrolytische Zersetzung von Phosphatestern unter Bildung von Phosphorsäureteilestern. Die hydrolytische Spaltung des Esters wird beschleunigt, wenn der Wassergehalt etwa 0,5 Masse-% übersteigt. Herkömmlich werden Phosphatester-Hydraulikfluids für Flugzeuge so formuliert, daß sie einen Säurefänger enthalten, der Phosphorsäureteilester neutralisiert, die durch die hydrolytische Spaltung des Triesters freigesetzt werden. Mit der Zeit wird der Säurefänger jedoch abgereichert, und Organometall-Verbindungen werden durch komplexe Reaktion gebildet, die den Phosphattriester, Phosphorsäureteilester und Oberflächen der Metallumgebung, in der das Hydraulikfluid gewöhnlich eingeschlossen ist, involvieren. Diese Organometall-Verbindungen, von denen üblicherweise Eisenphosphat das vorherrschendste Nebenprodukt ist, sind im Hydraulikfluid nicht löslich.
- Flugzeuge mit höherer Leistung werden unter Bedingungen betrieben, die Hydraulikfluids steigenden Temperaturen aussetzen. Derzeitige Fluids der Qualität A arbeiten bei Maximaltemperaturen im Bereich von 107 (225) bis 115°C (240°F). Zukünftige Luftfahrtprojekte werden jedoch Hydraulikfluids in Flugzeugen Fluidmassetemperaturen im Bereich von 135°C (275°C) oder darüber unterwerfen. Bei derartigen Temperaturen kommt es zu einer wesentlichen Erhöhung des Potentials für eine oxidative und hydrolytische Spaltung von Phosphatestern.
- Der Abbau von Phosphatester-Hydraulikfluids wird auch beschleunigt, wenn die Fluids Druckluft ausgesetzt werden. Die Luftoxidationsrate derartiger Fluids steigt ferner mit der Temperatur. Daher besteht für eine Verwendung bei 135°C (275°F) oder mehr ein Bedarf an Fluids sowohl mit verstärkter Wärmeoxidationsstabilität als auch verstärkter thermischer hydrolytischer Stabilität.
- Außerdem ist zu erwarten, daß Erosionsprobleme mit der Fluidmassetemperatur zunehmen. Die Erosion ist eine Form elektrochemischer Korrosion, die präziser als Zeta-Korrosion bezeichnet wird, deren Raten mit der Temperatur steigen. Ebenso ist es wahrscheinlich, daß sich die Inzidenz der Kavitation, die eine der mechanischen Quellen von Erosionsproblemen darstellt, mit der Temperatur erhöht. Mit fortschreitender Erosion kann das Vorliegen metallischer oder anderer unlöslicher Komponenten zu einer Filterverstopfung und einem Filterwechsel führen, und kann eine Änderung der physikalischen und chemischen Eigenschaften des Fluids bewirken, wodurch eine vorzeitige Entleerung der Fluids aus dem System erforderlich wird. Metallverunreinigungen reduzieren auch die oxidative Stabilität des Fluids, wodurch die Korrosion beschleunigt wird. Zusätzlich zu allen Effekten, die durch die Verunreinigung mit metallischen (oder anderen) Verunreinigungen entstehen, kann sich das Fluid in verschiedenster anderer Weise verschlechtern, einschließlich: a) einer Viskositätsveränderung; b) einer Zunahme der Säurezahl; c) eines Anstiegs der chemischen Reaktivität; und d) einer Entfärbung.
- Ein in Flugzeugen verwendbares Hydraulikfluid ist von der Lizenznehmerin der Anmelderin unter dem Warenzeichen Skydrol® LD-4 erhältlich. Diese Zusammensetzung enthält 30 bis 35 Masse-% Dibutylphenylphosphat; 50 bis 60 Masse-% Tributylphosphat, 5 bis 10 % Viskositätsindex-Verbesserer, 0,13 bis 1 % Diphenyldithioethan-Kupfer-Korrosionsinhibitor, 0,005 % bis etwa 1 Masse-%, jedoch vorzugsweise 0,0075 % bis 0,075 % Perfluoralkylsulfonsäuresalz-Erosionshemmer, 4 bis 8 Masse-% Säurefänger vom im
US-Patent 3 723 320 beschriebenen Typ, und etwa 1 Masse-% 2,6-Di- tert.butyl-p-cresol als Antioxidans. Diese Zusammensetzung hat sich bei der Verwendung in Hochleistungsflugzeugen als äußerst zufriedenstellend erwiesen. Sie wurde jedoch nicht für einen längeren Betrieb bei Temperatur im Bereich von 135°C (275°F) entwickelt. - Die
US-3 983 046-A beschreibt funktionelle Fluids, die Phosphatester mit zumindest zwei C3-C10-Alkyl-Gruppen in Kombination mit Phosphatestern mit zwei aromatischen Gruppen enthalten. DieUS-3 849 324-A betrifft auch funktionelle Fluids, die ein Trialkylphosphat und einen Dicarbonsäurediester enthalten, wodurch der Alkyl(phosphat)rest vorzugsweise geradkettige Gruppen mit 3 bis 10 Kohlenstoffatomen enthält. DieUS-4 206 067-A offenbart den Zusatz einer Base zu herkömmlichen Fluids auf Phosphatester-Basis, die ein Perhalogenmetall- oder Perhalogenmetalloidsalz enthalten, um so einen Fluid-pH von mehr als 7 vorzusehen, und dadurch die korrosionshemmenden Eigenschaften des Fluids zu stabilisieren. DieUS-3 679 587-A betrifft Hydraulikfluids, die einen Phosphatester in Kombination mit einer additiven Menge eines perfluorierten anionischen grenzflächenaktiven Stoffs mit verbesserter Korrosionsinhibierung enthalten. DieUS-3 487 020-A beschreibt Hydraulikfluids, die einen Hauptanteil eines Trialkylphosphats oder gemischten Alkylaryl-phosphats und eine geringe Menge einer Antioxidans-Korrosionshemmer-Kombination enthalten. DieGB-2 082 627-A US-5 035 824-A betrifft funktionelle Flüssigkeiten, die eine Hauptmenge an Phosphatester zusammen mit einer geringen Menge eines Calciumsalzes eines organischen Sulfonats enthalten. - Zusammenfassung der Erfindung
- Unter den verschiedenen Zielen der vorliegenden Erfindung können daher angegeben werden: das Vorsehen eines verbesserten funktionellen Fluids, welches als Hydraulikfluid zur Verwendung in Flugzeugen nützlich ist; das Vorsehen eines derartigen Fluids, welches verbesserte hydrolytische Stabilität, insbesondere bei erhöhten Temperaturen, zeigt; das Vorsehen eines derartigen Fluids, welches verbesserte oxidative Stabilität bei erhöhten Temperaturen zeigt; das Vorsehen eines derartigen Fluids, welches vorteilhafte Viskositätseigenschaften und insbesondere Viskositätsstabilität unter Scherbedingungen aufweist; das Vorsehen eines derartigen Fluids mit relativ geringer Dichte; das Vorsehen eines derartigen Fluids, welches nicht nur eine hohe Oxidationsbeständigkeit, sondern auch eine niedrige Toxizität hat; das Vorsehen einer derartigen Zusammensetzung, welche verbesserte erosionshemmende Eigenschaften aufweist; und das Vorsehen einer derartigen Fluidzusammensetzung, die eine verbesserte Beständigkeit gegenüber der Korrosion von Metallkomponenten eines Flugzeugs oder anderen Hydraulikfluidsystems zeigt.
- Kurz gefaßt ist die vorliegende Erfindung daher auf eine Fluidzusammensetzung gerichtet, welche für die Verwendung als Hydraulikfluid in Flugzeugen geeignet ist, und welche umfaßt:
- (a) einen feuerfesten Phosphatester-Grundansatz, wobei der Grundansatz zwischen etwa 50 Masse-% und etwa 72 Masse-% Trialkylphosphat, worin die Alkyl-Substituenten im wesentlichen Isoalkyl-C4 oder -C5 sind, und über ein primäres Kohlenstoffatom an den Phosphatrest gebunden sind, zwischen 18 Masse-% und etwa 35 Masse-% Dialkylarylphosphat, worin die Alkyl-Substituenten wie oben definiert sind, und zwischen 0 Masse-% und etwa 10 Masse-% Alkyldiarylphosphat, worin der Alkyl-Substituent wie oben definiert ist, umfaßt;
- (b) einen Säurefänger in einer Menge, welche Phosphorsäureteilester, die in situ durch Hydrolyse irgendeines der Phosphatester des Grundansatzes gebildet werden, wirksam neutralisiert;
- (c) einen Erosionshemmer in einer Menge, die eine strömungsinduzierte elektrochemische oder Zeta-Korrosion der strömungsmessenden Kanten von Hydraulikservoventilen in Hydrauliksystemen wirksam hemmt;
- (d) einen Viskositätsindex-Verbesserer in einer Menge, welche die Fluidzusammensetzung wirksam eine Viskosität von zumindest etwa 3,0 × 10–2 m2/s (3,0 cSt) bei etwa 99°C (210°F), zumindest etwa 9,0 × 10–2 m2/s (9,0 cSt) bei etwa 38°C (100°F) und weniger als etwa 4200 × 10–2 m2/s (4200 cSt) bei –54°C (–65°F) aufweisen läßt; und
- (e) ein Antioxidans in einer Menge, welche die Oxidation von Komponenten der Fluidzusammensetzung in Anwesenheit von Oxidationsmitteln wirksam inhibiert.
- Die Zusammensetzung umfaßt vorzugsweise einen Viskositätsindex-Verbesserer in einem Anteil zwischen etwa 3 Masse-% und etwa 10 Masse-% der Zusammensetzung. Der Viskositätsindex-Verbesserer umfaßt ein Methacrylatesterpolymer, dessen repetierende Einheiten im wesentlichen Butyl- und Hexylmethacrylat umfassen, wobei zumindest 95 Masse-% des Polymers eine Molmasse zwischen etwa 50 000 und etwa 1 500 000 aufweisen. Die Zusammensetzung umfaßt ferner einen Erosionshemmer in einem bevorzugten Anteil zwischen etwa 0,02 Masse-% und etwa 0,07 Masse-% der Zusammensetzung, wobei der Erosionshemmer ein Alkalimetallsalz einer Perfluoralkylsulfonsäure umfaßt, deren Alkyl-Substituent Hexyl, Heptyl, Octyl, Nonyl oder Decyl ist. Die Zusammensetzung umfaßt einen Säurefänger in einem Anteil zwischen etwa 1,5 und etwa 10 Masse-% der Zusammensetzung, wobei der Säurefänger ein Derivat von 3,4-Epoxycyclohexancarboxylat oder eine Diepoxid-Verbindung des im
US-Patent 4 206 067 geoffenbarten Typs umfaßt. Außerdem enthält die Zusammensetzung ein 2,4,6-Trialkylphenol in einem Anteil zwischen etwa 0,1 Masse-% und etwa 1 Masse-%, ein Di(alkylphenyl)amin in einem Anteil zwischen etwa 0,3 Masse-% und etwa 1 Masse-%, und eine gehinderte Polyphenol-Zusammensetzung, die ausgewählt ist aus der Gruppe bestehend aus Bis-(3,5-dialkyl-4-hydroxyaryl)-methan, 1,3,5-Trimethyl-2,4,6-tris-(3,5-di-tert.butyl-4-hydroxyaryl)-benzol und Mischungen hievon, in einem Anteil zwischen etwa 0,3 Masse-% und etwa 1 Masse-% der Zusammensetzung. Die Alkyl-Substituenten von Trialkylphosphat und Dialkylarylphosphat sind vorzugsweise Butyl oder Pentyl. - Zusätzlich kann die Zusammensetzung eine 4,5-Dihydroimidazol-Verbindung in einer Menge umfassen, welche die Rate der Spaltung von Phosphattriestern in der Zusammensetzung zu Phosphorsäureteilestern bei 149°C (300°F) effektiv um zumindest etwa 25 %, gemessen an der Epoxid-Abreicherung, reduziert. Die 4,5-Dihydroimidazol-Verbindung hat die Formel worin R1 Wasserstoff, Alkyl, Alkenyl, Hydroxyalkyl, Hydroxyalkenyl, Alkoxyalkyl oder Alkoxyalkenyl bedeutet, und R2 Alkyl, Alkenyl oder ein aliphatisches Carboxylat darstellt.
- Beschreibung der bevorzugten Ausführungsformen
- Gemäß der vorliegenden Erfindung wurde gefunden, daß ein Hydraulikfluid mit verbesserter thermischer, hydrolytischer und oxidativer Stabilität unter Verwendung eines Phosphatester-Grundansatzes vorgesehen wird, der eine hohe Konzentration von Alkylesterresten enthält, und relativ geringe Mengen an Phenyl- oder anderen Arylestern enthält. Der Grundansatz umfaßt eine Mischung von Trialkylphosphat und Dialkylarylphosphat, wobei in jedem hievon der Alkyl-Substituent Iso-C4 oder -C5 ist. Die Alkyl-Substituenten sind über ein primäres Kohlenstoffatom an den Phosphatrest gebunden. Gegebenenfalls enthält der Grundansatz ferner einen geringen Anteil an Alkyldiarylphosphat. Die Bindung des Alkyl-Substituenten an das Phosphat sollte über einen primären Kohlenstoff erfolgen.
- Zusätzlich zum verbesserten Grundansatz enthält die Zusammensetzung der Erfindung vorzugsweise eine Kombination von Additiven, welche die Eigenschaften des Fluids verglichen mit bekannten, früher erhältlichen Fluids zur Verwendung in Hydrauliksystemen von Flugzeugen weiter verstärkt. Außerdem wurde gefunden, daß die Additiv-Kombinationen dieser Erfindung bei der Verstärkung der Eigenschaften von Grundansatzzusammensetzungen wirksam sind, die bereits bekannt sind oder sich auf andere Wiese vom bevorzugten Grundansatz der funktionellen Fluids dieser Erfindung unterscheiden. Die vorteilhaftesten Eigenschaften werden jedoch sowohl unter Verwendung des Additiv-Pakets als auch des Grundansatzes der Erfindung erzielt, insbesondere wenn die Alkyl-Substituenten des Trialkylphosphats und Dialkylarylphosphats Isobutyl oder Isopentyl sind.
- Der bevorzugte Grundansatz ist durch einen sehr niedrigen Diarylphosphatester-Gehalt gekennzeichnet, vorzugsweise nicht mehr als etwa 5 Masse-%, bevorzugter nicht mehr als etwa 2 Masse-%. Ferner wird bevorzugt, daß die Summe der Anteile von Estern, die einen Aryl-Substituenten enthalten, d.h. Dialkylaryl-, Alkyldiaryl- und Triarylphosphaten, nicht mehr als etwa 25 Masse-% des Grundansatzes beträgt.
- Insbesondere umfasst die Grundansatzzusammensetzung zwischen etwa 50 und etwa 72 Masse-% Trialkylphosphat, worin der Alkyl-Substituent im wesentlichen Iso-C4 oder -C5 ist, zwischen etwa 18 Masse-% und etwa 35 Masse-% Dialkylarylphosphat, worin der Alkyl-Substituent im wesentlichen C4 oder C5 ist, und 0 bis etwa 10 Masse-% Alkyldiarylphosphat Vorzugsweise sind die Aryl-Substituenten Phenyl oder Alkyl-substituiertes Phenyl, wie beispielsweise Tolyl, Ethylphenyl oder Isopropylphenyl. Im Gegensatz zu beispielsweise Skydrol® LD-4 Hydraulikfluid, das einen signifikant höheren Diphenylester-Gehalt aufweist, zeigt der Grundansatz des funktionellen Fluids der Erfindung eine signifikant verbesserte hydrolytische Stabilität bei Temperaturen von im wesentlichen mehr als 107°C (225°F) unter Verwendung desselben Säurefängersystems wie dem in LD-4 eingeschlossenen. Unter Verwendung desselben Antioxidans-Additivs wie LD-4 zeigt eine den Grundansatz dieser Erfindung umfassende Zusammensetzung eine signifikant verstärkte Wärmeoxidationsstabilität. Als Folge des relativ geringen Diphenylester-Gehalts des Grundansatzes hat das funktionelle Fluid der Erfindung eine relativ niedrige Dichte, die für Verwendungen als Hydraulikfluids in Flugzeugen vorteilhaft ist.
- Im Grundansatz der Erfindung können die Alkyl-Substituenten Isobutyl oder Isopentyl, am meisten bevorzugt Isobutyl sein. Es wurde gefunden, daß eine Grundansatzzusammensetzung, die Triisobutyl- oder Triisopentylphosphat und Diisobutyl- oder Diisopentylphenylphosphat umfaßt, mehrfache Vorteile bietet, verglichen mit gleichen Zusammensetzungen, worin die Alkyl-Substituenten n-Butyl und n-Pentyl sind. Toxizitätsuntersuchungen zeigen, daß die Isobutyl- und Isopentylester eine sogar noch geringere Toxizität aufweisen als ihre n-Butyl- und n-Pentyl-Gegenstücke. Insbesondere bewirken Isobutyl- und Isopentylester eine geringere Hautsensibilisierung als die normalen Alkylester. Die systemische Toxizität ist ebenfalls geringer. Isobutyl- und Isopentylester tragen auch deutlich zur Integrität von Dichtungen bei, wobei gefunden wird, daß Materialien, aus denen Hydrauliksysteme üblicherweise hergestellt sind, einer viel geringeren Quellung ausgesetzt sind, wenn sie mit den Isoalkylestern in Kontakt stehen, als wenn sie mit den entsprechenden normalen Estern in Kontakt stehen. Ferner wurde gefunden, daß die Isobutyl- und Isopentylester sogar eine noch niedrigere Dichte aufweisen als die normalen Alkylester, was bedeutet, daß die Fluidmasse in einem gegebenen Hydrauliksystem in einem Flugzeug niedriger ist, wodurch eine verbesserte Treibstoffeffizienz des Flugszeugs erhalten wird.
- Zusätzlich zum verbesserten Grundansatz enthält die Zusammensetzung der Erfindung vorzugsweise eine Kombination von Additiven, welche die Eigenschaften des Fluids weiter verstärkt, verglichen mit Fluids, die früher zur Verwendung in Hydrauliksystemen von Flugzeugen zur Verfügung standen.
- Insbesondere enthält die Zusammensetzung einen Säurefänger in einem ausreichenden Anteil, um Phosphorsäureteilester zu neutralisieren, die in situ durch Hydrolyse von Komponenten des Phosphatester-Grundansatzes unter den Betriebsbedingungen, unter denen das Hydraulikfluid verwendet wird, gebildet werden. Vorzugsweise ist der Säurefänger eine 3,4-Epoxycyclohexancarboxylat-Zusammensetzung des im
US-Patent 3 723 320 beschriebenen Typs. Es sind auch Diepoxide verwendbar, wie die imUS-Patent 4 206 067 geoffenbarten, die zwei verbundene Cyclohexan-Gruppen enthalten, wobei an jede hievon eine Epoxid-Gruppe kondensiert ist. Derartige Diepoxid-Verbindungen haben die Formel: worin R3 eine organische Gruppe bedeutet, die 1 bis 10 Kohlenstoffatome, 0 bis 6 Sauerstoffatome und 0 bis 6 Stickstoffatome enthält, und R4 bis R9 unabhängig ausgewählt sind aus Wasserstoff und aliphatischen Gruppen mit 1 bis 5 Kohlenstoffatomen. Beispiele von Diepoxiden schießen ein: 3,4-Epoxycyclohexylmethyl-3,4-epoxycyclohexan, Bis-(3,4-epoxy-6-methylcyclohexylmethyladipat), 2-(3,4-Epoxycyclohexyl)-5,5-spiro-(3,4-epoxy)-cyclohexan-m-dioxan. Die Konzentration des Säurefängers in der Fluidzusammensetzung beträgt vorzugsweise zwischen etwa 1,5 Masse-% und etwa 10 Masse-%, bevorzugter zwischen etwa 2 Masse-% und etwa 8 Masse-%, was allgemein ausreicht, um das Hydraulikfluid während eines Flugzeugbetriebs von bis zu ungefähr 3000 Stunden in einem betriebsfähigen Zustand zu halten. - Zur Begrenzung des Effekts der Temperatur auf die Viskosität enthält die Zusammensetzung weiters einen polymeren Viskositätsindex-Verbesserer. Vorzugsweise umfaßt der Viskositätsindex-Verbesserer einen Poly(alkylmethacrylat)ester vom im
US-Patent 3 718 596 beschriebenen Typ. Allgemein hat der Viskositätsindex-Verbesserer eine hohe Molmasse mit einer zahlenmittleren Molmasse zwischen etwa 50 000 und etwa 100 000 sowie einer massenmittleren Molmasse zwischen etwa 200 000 und etwa 300 000. Vorzugsweise weist der Viskositätsindex-Verbesserer der Erfindung einen relativ, schmalen Molmassenbereich auf, wobei ungefähr 95 Masse-% der Viskositätsindex-Verbesserer-Komponente eine Molmasse zwischen etwa 50 000 und etwa 1 500 000 haben. Dieses Ergebnis wird teilweise durch die vorwiegende Verwendung von Butyl- und Hexylmethacrylatestern erzielt. Der Viskositätsindex-Verbesserer liegt in einem ausreichenden Anteil vor, um eine kinematische Viskosität von zumindest etwa 3,0, vorzugsweise zwischen etwa 3 und etwa 5 × 10–2 m2/s (3 und 5 cSt) bei 99°C (210°F); zumindest etwa 9,0, vorzugsweise zwischen etwa 9 und etwa 15 × 10–2 m2/s (9 und 15 cSt) bei 38°C (100°F); und nicht mehr als etwa 4200 × 10–2 m2/s (4200 cSt) bei –18°C (–65°F) zu bewirken. Der in der Zusammensetzung verwendete Viskositätsindex-Verbesserer verleiht auch überlegene Scherstabilitätseigenschaften. Vorzugsweise enthält die Fluidzusammensetzung zwischen etwa 3 Masse-% und etwa 10 Masse-% des Viskositätsindex-Verbesserers. Ein besonders bevorzugter Viskositätsindex-Verbesserer ist der unter der Handelsmarke PA6703 und/oder PA6477 von Robin & Haas verkaufte. Der Viskositätsindex-Verbesserer wird zweckmäßig in Form einer Lösung in einem Phosphatester-Lösungsmittel, vorzugsweise einem Trialkylphosphatester, wie Tributyl- oder Triisobutylphosphat, oder einer Kombination von Alkyl- und Phenyl-Derivaten vorgesehen. Die oben für den Viskositätsindex-Verbesserer angegebenen Anteile beziehen sich auf die Feststoffe (Methacrylatpolymer). Das Phosphatester-Lösungsmittel wird tatsächlich ein Teil des Grundansatzes, und die Bereiche der Anteile der Phosphatester, wie oben diskutiert, reflektieren den als Träger für den Viskositätsindex-Verbesserer zugesetzten Phosphatester. - Ein Erosionshemmer wird in einer Menge eingeschlossen, die eine strömungsinduzierte elektrochemische Korrosion, die präziser als Zeta-Korrosion bezeichnet wird, wirksam hemmt. Das Erosionshemmer-Additiv ist vorzugsweise ein Alkalimetallsalz, bevorzugter ein Kaliumsalz einer Perfluoralkylsulfonsäure. Derartige Erosionshemmer-Additive sind im
US-Patent 3 679 587 genauer beschrieben. Typischerweise umfaßt die Alkyl-Komponente Hexyl, Heptal, Octyl, Nonyl, Decyl, oder Mischungen hievon, wobei Perfluoroctyl allgemein die besten Eigenschaften ergibt. Es wird besonders bevorzugt, daß der Erosionshemmer vorwiegend das Kaliumsalz von Perfluoroctylsulfonsäure in einem Anteil zwischen etwa 250 und etwa 1000, am meisten bevorzugt zumindest etwa 500 ppm umfaßt. Im Betrieb eines Hydraulikfluidsystems eines Flugzeugs tendiert der Sulfonsäurerest des Erosionshemmers dazu, die Oberflächenspannung des Hydraulikfluids zu senken, und dadurch die Metalloberflächen, mit denen das Hydraulikfluid normalerweise in Kontakt kommt, besser zu bedecken. Die Meßkanten von Servoventilen sind im allgemeinen die wichtigsten Metallteile, die gegen eine elektrochemische Korrosion geschützt werden müssen. Positive Ionen im Fluid, einschießlich des Alkalimetallions des Erosionshemmers, werden auf die Metalloberfläche adsorbiert und neutralisieren die negativen Ladungen auf dem Metall, die ansonsten durch die rasche Strömung des Hydraulikfluids über die Servoventil-Meßkanten erzeugt werden. In der Zusammensetzung der Erfindung, die vorzugsweise einen etwa doppelt so hohen Perfluoralkylsulfonsäuresalz-Gehalt wie die als LD 4 verkaufte bekannte Zusammensetzung enthält, wird eine verstärkte Erosionsbeständigkeit vorgesehen. - Die Begrenzung des Diarylester-Gehalts des Grundansatzes trägt zur thermischen, oxidativen und hydrolytischen Stabilität des Fluids bei. Die Zusammensetzung der Erfindung enthält auch eine Kombination von Antioxidans-Additiven, die vorzugsweise sowohl ein gehindertes Phenol als auch ein gehindertes Polyphenol enthalten. Es wurde gefunden, daß die hydrolytische Stabilität verbessert wird, indem teilweise das gehinderte Polyphenol für das Phenol substituiert wird, und daher wird bevorzugt, daß die Zusammensetzung nicht mehr als etwa 1,0 Masse-%, vorzugsweise nicht mehr als etwa 0,7 Masse-%, eines Phenols, wie 2,4,6-Trialkylphenol, enthält. Allgemein wird bevorzugt, daß die Zusammensetzung zwischen etwa 0,1 % und etwa 0,7 % 2,4,6-Trialkylphenol, vorzugsweise 2,6-Di-tert.butyl-p-cresol ("Ionol") enthält. Die Zusammensetzung sollte weiters zwischen etwa 0,3 % und etwa 1 % einer gehinderten Polyphenol-Zusammensetzung enthalten, wie Bis-(3,5-dialkyl-4-hydroxyaryl)-methan, beispielsweise Bis-(3,5-di-tert.butyl-4-hydroxyphenyl)-methan, verkauft unter der Handelsmarke Ethanox® 702 von Ethyl Corp., eine 1,3,5-Trialkyl-2,4,6-tris-(3,5-dialkyl-4-hydroxyaryl)-aromatische Verbindung, beispielsweise 1,3,5-Trimethyl-2,4,6-tris-(3,5-di-tert.butyl-4-hydroxyphenyl)-benzol, verkauft unter dem Warenzeichen Ethanox® 330 von Ethyl Corp., oder Mischungen hievon. Die Zusammensetzung kann auch ein Amin-Antioxidans enthalten, vorzugsweise ein Diarylamin, wie beispielsweise Phenyl- α-naphthylamin oder Alkylphenyl-α-naphthylamin, oder das Reaktionsprodukt von N-Phenylbenzylamin mit 2,4,4-Trimethylpenten, verkauft unter der Handelsmarke Irganox® L-57 von Ciba-Geigy; Diphenylamin, Ditolylamin, Phenyltolylamin, 4,4'-Diaminodiphenylamin, Di-p-methoxydiphenylamin, oder 4-Cyclohexylaminodiphenylamin; eine Carbazol-Verbindung, wie N-Methylcarbazol, N-Ethylcarbazol, oder 3-Hydroxycarbazol; ein Aminophenol, wie ein N-Butylaminophenol, N-Methyl-N-amylaminophenol, oder N-Isooctyl-p-aminophenol; ein Aminodiphenylalkan, wie Aminodiphenylmethane, 4,4'-Diaminodiphenylmethan, etc., Aminodiphenylether; Aminodiphenylthioether; Aryl-substituierte Alkylendiamine, wie 1,2-Di-o-toluidoethan, 1,2-Dianilinoethan, oder 1,2-Dianilinopropan; Aminobiphenyle, wie 5-Hydroxy-2-aminobiphenyl, etc.; das Reaktionsprodukt eines Aldehyds oder Ketons mit einem Amin, wie des Reaktionsprodukt von Aceton und Diphenylamin; das Reaktionsprodukt eines komplexen Diarylamins und eines Ketons oder Aldehyds; ein Morpholin, wie N-(p-Hydroxyphenyl)-morpholin, etc.; ein Amidin, wie N,N'-Bis-(hydroxyphenyl)-acetamidin oder dgl.; ein Acridan, wie 9,9'-Dimethylacridan, ein Phenathiazin, wie Phenathiazin, 3,7-Dibutylphenathiazin oder 6,6-Dioctylphenathiazin; ein Cyclohexylamin; oder Mischungen hievon. Ein Alkyl-substituiertes Diphenylamin, wie Di-(p-octylphenyl)-amin, wird bevorzugt. Bestimmte Amin-Komponenten können auch als Schmiermittel-Additiv wirken. Das Amin-Antioxidans ist auch vorzugsweise in einem Anteil zwischen etwa 0,3 und etwa 1 Masse-% vorhanden. Indem der Ionol-Gehalt der Fluidzusammensetzung unter 1,0 Masse-%, vorzugsweise unter 0,7 Masse-% und bevorzugter unter 0,5 Masse gehalten wird, ist die Toxizität der Zusammensetzung sogar niedriger als jene des Skydrol® LD-4 Hydraulikfluids.
- Als Kupfer-Korrosionsinhibitor enthält die Zusammensetzung der Erfindung vorzugsweise ein Benzotriazol-Derivat, wie das unter der Handelsmarke Petrolite 57068 verkaufte. Dieser Korrosionsinhibitor liegt in einer ausreichenden Menge vor, um mit der Fluidzusammensetzung in Kontakt stehende Metalloberflächen gegen die Bildung von Metalloxiden auf den mit dem Fluid in Kontakt stehenden Metalloberflächen zu deaktivieren, wodurch die Kupfer-Lösungsraten in das Hydraulikfluid reduziert werden, und auch das Lösen von möglicherweise aus Kupferlegierungen hergestellten Teilen reduziert wird. Vorteilhaft enthält die Zusam mensetzung zwischen etwa 0,005 Masse-% und etwa 0,09 Masse-% des Benzotriazol-Derivats, vorzugsweise zwischen etwa 0,02 und etwa 0,07 Masse-%.
- Es ist bekannt, daß Phosphatester-funktionelle Fluids Eisenlegierungen sowie Kupferlegierungen korrodieren. Es sind zahlreiche Eisen-Korrosionsinhibitoren zur Verwendung in funktionellen Fluids verfügbar, in vielen Fällen ist jedoch bekannt, daß diese Erosionsraten erhöhten und so einen eindeutig nachteiligen Effekt auf die Leistungseigenschaften des Hydraulikfluids ausüben. Gemäß der Erfindung wurde jedoch gefunden, daß bestimmte 4,5-Dihydroimidazol-Verbindungen wirksame Eisen-Korrosionsinhibitoren sind, aber die Erosionseigenschafen des Fluids nicht beeinträchtigen. Verwendbare 4,5-Dihydroimidazol-Verbindungen schließen jene ein, die der Strukturformel entsprechen: worin R1 Wasserstoff, Alkyl, Alkenyl, Hydroxyalkyl, Hydroxyalkenyl, Alkoxyalkyl oder Alkoxyalkenyl bedeutet, und R2 Alkyl, Alkenyl oder ein aliphatisches Carboxylat darstellt. Beispiele von Gruppen, die R1 bedeuten kann, schließen ein: Wasserstoff, Methyl, Ethyl, Propyl, Butyl, Pentyl, Octyl, Vinyl, Propenyl, Octenyl, Hexenyl, Hydroxyethyl, Hydroxyhexyl, Methoxypropyl, Propoxyethyl, Butoxypropenyl, etc. Beispiele von Gruppen, die R2 darstellen kann, schließen ein: Octyl, Dodecyl, Hexadecyl, Heptadecenyl, oder einen Fettsäure-Substituenten, wie 6-Carboxyoctyl, 12-Carboxydodecyl, 16-Carboxyhexadecenyl oder 18-Carboxyoctadecyl. In einer besonders effektiven Ausführungsform bedeutet R1 Wasserstoff oder nied.Alkyl, und ist R2 ein Fettsäurerest mit zumindest etwa 9 Kohlenstoffatomen, d.h. -C8-COOH bis -C18-COOH, vorzugsweise C16-C18-COOH. In einer weiteren bevorzugten Ausführungsform bedeutet R1 nied.Hydroxyalkyl, und ist R2 C8-C18-Alkenyl. Im letzteren Fall wird die zufriedenstellendste Inhibierung der Fe-Korrosion nur dann bewirkt, wenn das 4,5-Dihydroimidazol in Kombination mit einem Aminosäure-Derivat verwendet wird, insbesondere einer N-substituierten Aminosäure, worin der N-Substituent sowohl polare als auch oleophile Reste enthält, beispielsweise einer N-Alkyl-N-oxoalkenylaminosäure.
- Ferner und unerwartet wurde gefunden, daß das Vorliegen einer derartigen 4,5-Dihydroimidazol-Verbindung, typischerweise in einem Anteil zwischen etwa 0,01 Masse-% und 0,1 Masse-%, nicht nur die Eisen-Korrosion inhibiert, sondern auch deutlich zur Stabilität der funktionellen Flüssigkeit, wie durch die Epoxid-Abreicherung gezeigt, beiträgt. Es wurde gefunden, daß der vorteilhafte Effekt der 4,5-Dihydroimidazol-Verbindung verstärkt wird, wenn sie in Kombination mit einem Phenol-Antioxidans verwendet wird, insbesondere einem komplexen gehinderten Polyphenol, wie einem Bis-(3,5-dialkyl-4-hydroxyaryl)-methan oder einer 1,3,5-Trialkyl-2,4,6-tris-(3,5-tert.butyl-4-hydoxyaryl)-aromatischen Verbindung. Der optimale Effekt auf die Stabilität wurde unter Verwendung einer Kombination des Kondensationsprodukts von 4,5-Dihydro-1H-imidazol und einer C16-C18-Fettsäure (verkauft unter der Handelsmarke Vanlube RI-G von Vanderbilt Co.) mit einem gehinderten Polyphenol und einem Alkyl-substituierten Diarylamin, wie Di-(p-octylphenyl)-amin, festgestellt. Als 4,5-Dihydroimidazol-Verbindung in einer derartigen Kombination wirksam ist auch 2-(8-Heptadecenyl)-4,5-dihydro-1H-imidazol-1-ethanol (verkauft unter der Handelsmarke Amine-O von Ciba-Geigy), um als Eisen-Korrosionsinhibitor zu wirken. Die letztere Verbindung wird vorzugsweise in Kombination mit einem Aminosäure-Derivat, wie z.B. N-Methyl-N-(1-oxo-9-octadecenyl)-glycin, verkauft unter der Handelsmarke Sarkosyl®-O von Ciba-Geigy, verwendet.
- Es wurde gefunden, daß noch eine weitere Verstärkung der Stabilität bei hoher Temperatur durchgeführt wird, wenn die 4,5-Dihydroimidazol-Verbindung in Kombination mit einem Grundansatz verwendet wird, worin die Ester-Substituenten im wesentlichen Isobutyl oder Isopentyl sind.
- Obwohl nicht gefunden wurde, daß sie den wesentlichen vorteilhaften Effekt auf die hohe Temperaturstabilität hervorrufen, den die Verwendung einer 4,5-Dihydroimidazol-Verbindung ausübt, wurde von anderen Eisen-Korrosionsinhibitoren gefunden, daß sie im funktionellen Fluid der Erfindung ohne nachteilige Wirkung auf Erosionseigenschaften wirksam sind. Annehmbare Eisen-Korrosionsinhibitoren schließen beispielsweise das von Petrolite unter der Handelsmarke Petrolite P-31001 verkaufte Produkt ein.
- Wenn notwendig, kann die Fluidzusammensetzung auch ein Antischäumungsmittel enthalten. Vorzugsweise ist dies ein Silikonfluid, bevorzugter ein Polyalkylsiloxan, beispielsweise das von Dow Corning unter der Handelsmarke DC 200 verkaufte Polymethylsiloxan. Vorzugsweise wird das Antischäumungsmittel in einem ausreichenden Anteil eingeschlossen, um eine Schaumbildung unter den Testbedingungen des ASTM-Verfahrens 892 zu inhibieren. Typischerweise beträgt der Gehalt des Antischäumungsmittels in der Zusammensetzung zumindest etwa 0,0005 Masse-%, typischerweise etwa 0,0001 Masse-% bis 0,001 Masse-%.
- Vorzugsweise beträgt der pH der Zusammensetzung der Erfindung zumindest etwa 7,5, bevorzugter zwischen etwa 7,5 und etwa 9,5. Um einen pH in diesem Bereich vorzusehen, und um die Säurefänger-Fähigkeit der Formulierung zu verstärken, kann die Zusammensetzung ferner zwischen etwa 0,0035 und etwa 0,10 Masse-%, vorzugsweise zwischen etwa 0,01 Masse-% und etwa 0,1 Masse-%, am meisten bevorzugt zwischen etwa 0,02 Masse-% und etwa 0,07 Masse-% eines Alkalimetallphenats oder anderen Arylats einschließen. Kaliumphenat wird bevorzugt. Zusätzlich zu neutralisierenden sauren Komponenten der Zusammensetzung dient das Alkalimetallarylat zur Beruhigung der Metalloberflächen, wenn die Zusammensetzung einem Hydrauliksystem zugesetzt wurde, um dadurch die Korrosion zu reduzieren.
- Obwohl optimale Eigenschaften in einer Zusammensetzung mit niedrigem Alkyldiarylphosphat-Gehalt und insbesondere in Zusammensetzungen unter Verwendung des Grundansatzes der Erfindung, wie oben beschrieben, erzielt werden, führt die Additiv-Kombination der Erfindung auch zu vorteilhaften Ergebnissen, wenn sie in Kombination mit einer beliebigen verschiedenster bekannter Grundansatzzusammensetzungen verwendet wird. Der Vorteil der Verwendung von Estern, deren Alkyl-Substituenten vorwiegend aus Isobutyl und Isopentyl bestehen, erstreckt sich über die bevorzugten Konzentrationsbereiche, wie oben angegeben, hinaus.
- Wie vorstehend diskutiert, werden optimale Eigenschaften durch das Kombinieren des bevorzugten Isobutyl- und Isopentylester-Grundansatzes mit der Additiv-Kombination der Erfindung erzielt. Es werden jedoch auch signifikante Vorteile einer geringeren Toxizität, niedrigen Dichte, hydrolytischen Stabilitat, Wärmestabilität und Dichtungsintegrität durch die Verwendung der Isoalkylester mit anderen Additiv-Kombinationen erhalten. Vorzugsweise enthält der Isoalkylester-Grundansatz zwischen 50 und etwa 72 Masse-% Trialkylphosphat, worin die Alkyl-Substituenten im wesentlichen Isobutyl oder Isopentyl sind, zwischen etwa 18 und etwa 35 Masse-% Dialkylarylphosphat, worin die Alkyl-Substituenten im wesentlichen Isobutyl oder Isopentyl sind, und zwischen 0 und etwa 10 Masse-%, vorzugsweise zwischen etwa 0 und 5 Masse-%, Alkyldiarylphosphat.
- Der Isoalkyl-Grundansatz sollte mit einem Säurefänger in einer wirksamen Menge kombiniert werden, um Phosphorsäureteilester, die in situ durch Hydrolyse irgendeines der Phosphatester des Grundansatzes gebildet werden, zu neutralisieren. Die oben beschriebenen Säurefänger werden bevorzugt, es können jedoch andere bekannte Säurefänger verwendet werden. Die funktionellen Fluids auf der Basis von Isoalkyl sollten auch ein Erosionshemmer-Additiv in einer wirksamen Menge enthalten, um eine strömungsinduzierte elektrochemische Korrosion der strömungsmessenden Kanten von Hydraulikservoventilen in Hydrauliksystemen zu inhibieren. Diese Fluids sollten auch einen Viskositätsindex-Verbesserer in einer wirksamen Menge enthalten, um die Fluidzusammensetzung den oben angegebenen Viskositätsindex aufweisen zu lassen. Die Zusammensetzung sollte ferner ein Antioxidans in einer wirksamen Menge enthalten, um eine Oxidation der Komponenten der Fluidzusammensetzung in Anwesenheit von Oxidationsmitteln zu inhibieren. Vorzugsweise sind der Erosionshemmer, der Viskositätsindex-Verbesserer und die Antioxidans-Zusammensetzung wie oben beschrieben, die Vorteile der Verwendung eines Isoalkyl-Grundansatzes werden jedoch auch mit anderen bekannten Additiv-Kombinationen erhalten.
- Zur Herstellung der Zusammensetzungen der Erfindung können Fachleuten bekannte Verfahren verwendet werden. Beispielsweise kann ein die Phosphatester umfassender Grundansatz durch Mischen in einem gerührten rostfreien Stahlgefäß hergestellt werden. Dann können Additive in den Grundansatz in demselben Gefäß eingemischt werden. Wie oben angegeben, wird der Viskositätsindex-Verbesserer vorzugsweise in Form einer Lösung in einem Phosphatester-Lösungsmittel zugesetzt.
- Bei Temperaturen von mehr als 93°C (200°F) haben die mehr bevorzugten funktionellen Fluidzusammensetzungen der Erfindung eine zwei- bis dreimal höhere thermische, oxidative und hydrolytische Stabilität als jene von Skydrol® LD-4 Hydraulikfluid, gemessen an der Abreicherung des Epoxid-Säurefängers als Funktion der Zeit. Eine überlegene Stabilität zeigt sich sogar in Anwesenheit von Halogen enthaltenden Verbindungen, wie Trichlorethan. Wenn eine 4,5-Dihydroimidazol-Verbindung eingeschlossen wird, ist das Ausmaß der Verbesserung sogar noch größer. Als Folge des relativ niedrigen Phenylester-Gehalts hat die Zusammensetzung der Erfindung eine Dichte von weniger als 1 g/cm3, typischerweise zwischen etwa 0,98 und etwa 0,99 g/cm3. Dies ist ein vom Standpunkt der Treibstoffverbrennung (Verbrauch) bei Flugzeugen wünschenswertes Merkmal.
- Auch die Scherstabilität läßt sich vorteilhaft mit kommerziell erhältlichen Hydraulikfluids für Flugzeuge vergleichen. So fällt beispielsweise nach 500 Stunden Aussetzen an einen Test eines beschleunigten Abbaus in einem typischen Hydraulikpumpensystem in einem Flugzeug die Viskosität der Zusammensetzung bei –65°C nur von 4000 auf 2400 × 10–2 m2/s. Es wird angenommen, daß dieser Vorteil teilweise durch den engeren Molmassenbereich des Viskositätsindex-Verbesserers entsteht. Das Aussetzen an Scherbedingungen tendiert dazu, Viskositätsindex-Verbesserer mit höherer Molmasse abzubauen, so daß Zusammensetzungen, in denen die Molmasse des Viskositätsindex-Verbesserers über einen breiten Bereich verteilt ist, dazu tendieren, einen größeren Effizienzverlust mit der Zeit aufgrund der Spaltung der Arten mit höherer Molmasse zu erleiden.
- Teilweise wegen der relativ geringen Konzentration von 2,6-Di-tert.butyl-p-cresol ist die Toxizität der Fluidzusammensetzung in der Erfindung sehr niedrig. Wenn ein Isoalkylester-Grundansatz verwendet wird, ist die Toxizität sogar noch niedriger.
- Die folgenden Beispiele erläutern die Erfindung.
- Beispiel 1: – Vergleich
- Ein Hydraulikfluid mit der in Tabelle 1 angegebenen Zusammensetzung wurde durch Mischen bei Umgebungstemperatur in einem 19 l (50 gal) rostfreien Stahltank hergestellt, der mit einem 25 PS Rührwerk mit einem Impeller vom Anker-Typ gerührt wurde. Zuerst wurden die Phosphatester-Komponenten in den Tank eingebracht, und nach einem Zeitraum von 30 min anfänglichem Mischen wurden die anderen Additive in der in Tabelle 1 gezeigten Sequenz zugesetzt. Von der Dibutylphenylphosphat-Quelle waren 77,135 Masse-% Dibutylphenylphosphat oder Butyldiphenylphosphat, so daß 20,3 Masse-% der gesamten Zusammensetzung aus einen Phenylrest enthaltenen Phosphatestern bestanden. Der Butyldiphenylphosphat-Gehalt betrug jedoch weniger als 1 Masse-%. Der Triphenylphosphat-Gehalt war im wesentlichen 0.
- Beispiel 2:
- Erfindungsgemäße Hydraulikfluids für Flugzeuge wurden im wesentlichen auf die in Beispiel 1 (Vergleich) beschriebene Weise formuliert und dem Erosionsbeständigkeitstest der Boeing Materialspezifikation für feuerfeste Hydraulikfluids, BMS 3-11G (Rev. 7/17/86) unterworfen. In der Tabelle 2 sind die Zusammensetzungen der getesteten Fluids angegeben. In Tabelle 8 sind die Ergebnisse der Erosionstests gezeigt. In der Tabelle 3 ist ein Vergleich der Eigenschaften der Fluids angegeben, bevor und nachdem sie den Erosionstests unterworfen wurden. In diesen Tabellen beziehen sich "HF-400", "HF-411" und "HF-460" auf Poly(butyl/hexylmethacrylat)-Viskositätsindex-Verbesserer. In jedem Eintrag zeigt die Tabelle den Butylmethacrylatpolymer-Feststoffgehalt, wobei der Rest Trialkylphosphat-Lösungsmittel ist. "AEA" bezieht sich auf einen Erosionshemmer, "PANA" bedeutet Phenyl-α-naphthylamin; "APANA" bedeutet Alkylphenyl-α-naphthylamin. "DODPA" bedeutet Di-(p-octylphenyl)-amin; "P58526 Petrolite" ist ein Eisen-Korrosionsinhibitor; "DC 200, 100 CST" ist ein Dow Corning Antischäumungsmittel; "SARK O" betrifft das N-Methyl-N-1-oxo-9-octadenylglycin, das unter der Handelsmarke "Sarkosyl-O" von Ciba-Geigy verkauft wird; "AMINE O" bezeichnet das 2-(8-Heptadecenyl)-4,5-dihydro-1H-imidazol-1-ethanol, das unter der Handelsmarke "Amino-O" von Ciba-Geigy verkauft wird; "90-31001" bezeichnet Petrolite 31001; und "FH-132" bedeutet Diphenyldithioethan.
- Beispiel 3:
- Es wurden Formulierungen hergestellt, die im wesentlichen den Zusammensetzungen von Beispiel 1 entsprachen, außer daß die Trialkylphosphat- und Dialkylarylphosphat-Komponenten Triisobutylphosphat bzw. Diisobutylphenylphosphat waren, und die Zusammensetzung hinsichtlich der als Eisen-Korrosionsinhibitor eingeschlossenen Verbindung variierten. An diesen Zusammensetzungen wurden Erosions-Ventilauslauftests durchgeführt, und Epoxid-Abreicherungstests wurden an diesen Zusammensetzungen allgemein auf die in Beispiel 1 beschriebene Weise vorgenommen. Die Ergebnisse dieser Tests sind in Tabelle 4 angegeben.
- Die Tabelle zeigt, daß die Zusammensetzung M-1 eine "Kombination" von Antioxidantien verwendete. Anfänglich enthielt M-1 Ionol, Ethanox 702 und Di-(p-octylphenyl)-amin (DODPA). Nachdem der Erosionstest 25 h lang fortgeschritten war, wurden der Zusammensetzung weitere Mengen an Ethanox 702 und DODPA zugesetzt. Nach 153 h wurde ein Phenol-Antioxidans zugesetzt; nach 267 h wurde ein Amin-Antioxidans zugesetzt; und nach 503 h wurde eine Mischung von Ethanox 703 und Ethanox 330 zugesetzt. Ethanox 703 ist eine Handelsmarke für 2,6-Di-tert.butyl-α-dimethylamino-o-cresol. Das nach 153 h zugesetzte Phenol-Antioxidans war eine Mischung von tert.Butylphenol-Derivaten, die unter der Handelsmarke Irganox L-130 von Ciba-Geigy verkauft wird; und das nach 267 h zugesetzte Amin-Antioxidans war ein Reaktionsprodukt von N-Phenylbenzylamin und 2,4,4-Trimethylpenten, das unter der Handelsmarke L-57 von Ciba-Geigy verkauft wird.
Claims (28)
- Fluidzusammensetzung, die für die Verwendung als Hydraulikfluid in Flugzeugen geeignet ist, welche umfaßt: (a) einen feuerfesten Phosphatester-Grundansatz, wobei der Grundansatz zwischen 50 %-Masse und 72 %-Masse Trialkylphosphat, worin die Alkylsubstituenten im wesentlichen Isoalkyl-C4 oder -C5 sind und über ein primäres Kohlenstoffatom an den Phosphatrest gebunden sind, zwischen 18 %-Masse und 35 %-Masse Dialkylarylphosphat, worin die Alkylsubstituenten wie oben definiert sind, und zwischen 0 %-Masse und 10 %-Masse Alkyldiarylphosphat, worin der Alkylsubstituent wie oben definiert ist, umfaßt; (b) einen Säurefänger in einer Menge, die Phosphorsäureteilester, die in situ durch Hydrolyse irgendeines der Phosphatester des Grundansatzes gebildet werden, wirksam neutralisieren kann; (c) einen Erosionshemmer in einer Menge, die strömungsinduzierte elektrochemische oder Zeta-Korrosion der strömungsmessenden Kanten hydraulischer Servoventile in hydraulischen Systemen wirksam hemmen kann; (d) einen Viskositätsindexverbesserer in einer Menge, die die Fluidzusammensetzung wirksam eine Viskosität von mindestens 3,0 × 10–2m2/s bei 99°C, mindestens 9,0 × 10–2m2/s bei 38°C und weniger als etwa 4200 × 10–2m2/s bei –54°C aufweisen läßt; und (e) ein Antioxidationsmittel in einer Menge, die die Oxidation von Komponenten der Fluidzusammensetzung in Gegenwart von Oxidationsmitteln wirksam inhibieren kann.
- Fluidzusammensetzung gemäß Anspruch 1, worin der Säurefänger aus einer Gruppe ausgewählt ist, die aus einem Derivat von 3,4-Epoxycyclohexancarboxylat und einer Diepoxidverbindung gemäß der Formel besteht, worin R3 eine organische Gruppe ist, die 1 bis 10 Kohlenstoffatome, 0 bis 6 Sauerstoffatome und 0 bis 6 Stickstoffatome enthält, und R4 bis R9 unabhängig voneinander aus Wasserstoff und aliphatischen Gruppen mit 1 bis 5 Kohlenstoffatomen sowie Mischungen des 3,4-Epoxycyclohexancarboxylats und der Diepoxidverbindung ausgewählt sind.
- Fluidzusammensetzung gemäß Anspruch 1, worin der Säurefänger in einem Anteil vorhanden ist, der zwischen 1,5 %-Masse und 10 %-Masse der Fluidzusammensetzung umfaßt.
- Fluidzusammensetzung gemäß Anspruch 1, worin der Erosionshemmer ein Alkalimetallsalz einer Perfluoralkylsulfonsäure ist, deren Alkylsubstituent aus einer Gruppe ausgewählt ist, die aus Hexyl, Heptyl, Octyl, Nonyl, Decyl und Mischungen davon besteht.
- Fluidzusammensetzung gemäß Anspruch 1, worin der Erosionshemmer in einem Anteil vorhanden ist, der zwischen 0,02 %-Masse und 0,08 %-Masse der Fluidzusammensetzung umfaßt.
- Fluidzusammensetzung gemäß Anspruch 1, worin der Viskositätsindexverbesserer ein Methacrylatesterpolymer ist, dessen sich wiederholende Einheiten im wesentlichen Butyl- und Hexylmethacrylat umfassen, wobei mindestens 95 %-Masse des Methacrylatesterpolymers eine Molmasse von zwischen 50 000 und 1 500 000 aufweisen.
- Fluidzusammensetzung gemäß Anspruch 1, worin der Viskositätsindexverbesserer in einem Anteil vorhanden ist, der zwischen 3 %-Masse und 10 %-Masse der Fluidzusammensetzung umfaßt.
- Fluidzusammensetzung gemäß Anspruch 1, worin das Antioxidationsmittel aus einer Gruppe ausgewählt ist, die aus einem 2,4,6-Trialkylphenol, einem Di(alkylphenyl)amin, einem gehinderten Polyphenol und Mischungen davon besteht.
- Fluidzusammensetzung gemäß Anspruch 8, worin das 2,4,6-Trialkylphenol 2,6-Di-tert-butyl-p-cresol ist.
- Fluidzusammensetzung gemäß Anspruch 8, worin das Di(alkylphenyl)amin Di(p-octylphenyl)amin ist.
- Fluidzusammensetzung gemäß Anspruch 8, worin das gehinderte Polyphenol aus einer Gruppe ausgewählt ist, die aus Bis(3,5-dialkyl-4-hydroxyaryl)methan und 1,3,5-Trialkyl-2,4,6-tris(3,5-di-tert-butyl-4-hydroxyaryl)benzol und Mischungen davon besteht.
- Fluidzusammensetzung gemäß Anspruch 8, worin das 2,4,6-Trialkylphenol in einem Anteil von zwischen 0,1 %-Masse und 1,0 %-Masse der Fluidzusammensetzung vorhanden ist, das Di(alkylphenyl)amin in einem Anteil von zwischen 0,3 %-Masse und 1 %-Masse der Fluidzusammensetzung vorhanden ist, und das gehinderte Polyphenol in einem Anteil von zwischen 0,3 %-Masse und 1 %-Masse der Fluidzusammensetzung vorhanden ist.
- Fluidzusammensetzung gemäß Anspruch 1, worin das Trialkylphosphat Triisobutylphosphat ist.
- Fluidzusammensetzung gemäß Anspruch 1, worin das Dialkylarylphosphat Diisobutylphenylphosphat ist.
- Fluidzusammensetzung gemäß Anspruch 1, worin der Phosphatester-Grundansatz zwischen 0 %-Masse und 5 %-Masse Alkyldiarylphosphat umfaßt.
- Fluidzusammensetzung gemäß Anspruch 1, die weiters einen Kupferkorrosionshemmer enthält.
- Fluidzusammensetzung gemäß Anspruch 16, worin der Kupferkorrosionshemmer aus einer Gruppe ausgewählt ist, die aus Benzotriazol, einem Benzotriazolderivat und Mischungen davon besteht.
- Fluidzusammensetzung gemäß Anspruch 16, worin der Kupferkorrosionshemmer in einem Anteil von zwischen 0,005 %-Masse und 0,09 %-Masse der Fluidzusammensetzung vorhanden ist.
- Fluidzusammensetzung gemäß Anspruch 18, worin der Kupferkorrosionshemmer in einem Anteil von zwischen 0,02 %-Masse und 0,07 %-Masse der Fluidzusammensetzung vorhanden ist.
- Fluidzusammensetzung gemäß Anspruch 1, die weiters einen Eisenkorrosionshemmer enthält.
- Fluidzusammensetzung gemäß Anspruch 20, worin der Eisenkorrosionshemmer eine 4,5-Dihydroimidazolverbindung gemäß der Formel ist, worin R1 aus einer Gruppe ausgewählt ist, die aus Wasserstoff, Alkyl, Alkenyl, Hydroxyalkyl, Hydroxyalkenyl, Alkoxyalkyl und Alkoxyalkenyl besteht, und R2 aus einer Gruppe ausgewählt ist, die aus Alkyl, Alkenyl und aliphatischem Carboxylat besteht.
- Fluidzusammensetzung gemäß Anspruch 21, worin die 4,5-Dihydroimidazolverbindung aus einer Gruppe ausgewählt ist, die aus 2-(8-Heptadecenyl)-4,5-dihydro-1H-imidazol-1-ethanol und dem Kondensationsprodukt von C14- bis C16-Fettsäuren und 4,5-Dihydro-1H-imidazol besteht.
- Fluidzusammensetzung gemäß Anspruch 21, worin die 4,5-Dihydroimidazolverbindung in einer Menge vorhanden ist, die die Stabilität der Fluidzusammensetzung effektiv um mindestens 25 % bei 144°C, gemessen an der Epoxidabreicherung, erhöhen kann.
- Fluidzusammensetzung gemäß Anspruch 23, worin die 4,5-Dihydroimidazolverbindung in einem Anteil von zwischen 0,01 %-Masse und 0,1 %-Masse der Fluidzusammensetzung vorhanden ist.
- Fluidzusammensetzung gemäß Anspruch 22, worin die 4,5-Dihydroimidazolverbindung in Kombination mit einem Aminosäurederivat vorhanden ist.
- Fluidzusammensetzung gemäß Anspruch 25, worin das Aminosäurederivat N-Methyl-N-(1-oxo-9-octadecenyl)glycin ist.
- Fluidzusammensetzung gemäß Anspruch 22, worin die 4,5-Dihydroimidazolverbindung das Kondensationsprodukt einer C15-bis C18-Fettsäure und 4,5-Dihydro-1H-imidazol ist.
- Fluidzusammensetzung gemäß Anspruch 1, welches weiters ein Antischäumungsmittel umfaßt.
