Die Konstruktionen mit starren Innenteilen verlangen als Druckkeile sehr große Steigung, um auf jedem Fall die Selbsthemmung oder ein Festsetzen zu vermeiden. Als Nachteil muß hier in Kauf genommen werden, daß die Andrückverhältnisse ungünstiger werden und beim Erkalten sehr große Drücke auf die Innenteile kommen. Auch Konstruktionen, in denen unter die Ringe elastische Dichtungen untergelegt sind, sind bekannt; sie haben den Nachteil, daß bei hohen Drücken <ein hoher spezifischer Druck das elastische Material ungünstig beeinflußt. Außerdem beanspruchen diese Konstruktionen 'eine besondere Festhaltevorrichtung, welche eine unerwünschte Verteuerung mit sich bringt.
Alle diese Nachteile werden erfmdungsgemäß dadurch vermieden, daß die Dichtungsplatten mit einem dünnwandigen Rande versehen sind, unter dem zwecks günstiger Druckverteilung und wegen der erwünschten Elastizität eine scheibenförmige, elastische Unterlage angeordnet ist. Die an Stelle der Ringe getretenen Platten können sich frei ausdehnen und sich wegen des dünnen Plattenrandes auch Verziehungen des Gehäuses anpassen. Die 'elastische Unterlage trägt den Verspannungen und Ausdehnungen der Gehäuse und Innenteile der Schieber Rechnung, indem sie ausgleichend wirkt und die Starrheit der angepreßten Innenteile aufhebt.
