tion in which the sealing ring has the shape of an O-ring 21 which lies in a recess 22 which is inclined inwardly against the surface of the plate 8.
4c and d show modified forms of Figs. A and b, in which the sealing ring 15 or the
EMI3.1
results in insert 23 which is generally T-shaped in cross-section and is located in the bore of plate 8.
Fig. 4e shows a further modified form in which an O-ring 21 is seated between the sealing rings 15 and between the plate 8 and an annular metallic insert 24 of rectangular radial section.
FIG. 4f shows an even further modified form in which an annular sealing ring 25 is arranged, the width of which corresponds to that of the plate 8. This ring sits between the plate 8 and an annular metallic insert 26, edges of the ring 25 located on the circumference being bevelled so that the back 8a and 26a rest on the plates 8 and the insert 26, respectively.
FIG. 4g illustrates yet another modified form in which an annular metallic insert 27 is seated in the bore 10 of the plate 8. This insert is generally L-shaped in a radial section.
A resilient O-ring 21 is seated on one end face of this insert 27. A sealing ring 15 is arranged in the recess which results between the other end of the insert 27 and the bore 10 in the plate 8. The bore 10 in the plate 8 has two different diameters. The difference is a step in the radial section, whereby a lateral movement of the metallic insert on such
It is regulated to a degree that a sealing effect is brought about on the ring 15. In this way, unwanted tilting is also prevented as soon as parts of the rings 27 and 15 are exposed through the opening 13 in the slide 11.
The removable bottom plate 7 and the removable valve cover 6 are arranged so that they
Hold valve unit 2 in the correct position in valve housing 1. The base plate 7 carries a block 16 with a triangular cross-section which engages in a recess in the base of the lower spacer 9.
A spindle 17 connected to the slide 11 passes through the gland flange 18 in the valve cover 6 to a threaded part (not shown) which cooperates with a nut so that a rotation of the spindle 17 in the usual manner raises or lowers of the slide 11 causes. The valve unit 2 can, as shown in FIG. 1, be held in position alone or additionally by small claws 19 and head screws 20.
With the valve described, the valve unit can be removed very quickly for the purpose of repair or maintenance, the valve housing remaining in its original position. The valve unit can also be replaced if necessary. If the valve is in the fully open position, the
Liquid practically no cavities in which paraffin or other foreign bodies can settle.
Another advantage is that in designs in which a slide 11 provided with an opening is provided, any foreign bodies trapped in the opening 13 between the plates 8 as soon as the valve is closed in this opening 13 is held for a long time until the valve is opened again, the foreign body being washed away by the flow of liquid through the valve.
Various changes are possible within the scope of the invention.
