Description
- Die Erfindung betrifft Fettzusammensetzungen. Insbesondere bezieht sich die Erfindung auf Fettzusammensetzungen, die Öle, eine hydroxylgruppenhaltige Seife als Verdickungsmittel und borierte, hydroxylgruppenhaltige Ester sowie ggf. Phosphor- und Schwefelgruppen enthalten.
- Das US-Patent Nr. 2 943 054 beschreibt ein Schmierfett, das im wesentlichen aus einem mineralischen Schmieröl besteht, das mit etwa 3 bis etwa 30 Gew.-% Barium-12-hydroxystearat verdickt ist und eine kleine Menge, die ausreicht, um dem genannten Fett eine gute mechanische Stabilität und Reversibilitätseigenschaften zu verleihen, eines Reaktionsprodukts enthält, das durch Erhitzen von Orthoborsäure und einem Ester, der aus der Klasse ausgewählt ist, die aus Glykolen und Polyglykolen, Mono- und Diester von Hydroxyfettsäuren mit 8 bis 50 Kohlenstoffatomen und Glycerinmono-, -di- und -triester von Hydroxyfettsäuren mit 8 bis 50 Kohlenstoffatomen ausgewählt ist, bis zu einer Temperatur zwischen etwa 215ºF und etwa 425ºF erhalten worden ist.
- Die Erfindung ist darauf gerichtet, eine Fettzusammensetzung mit verbesserten Tropfpunkteigenschaften zur Verfügung zu stellen.
- Gemäß einer Ausführungsform der Erfindung wird eine verbesserte Fettzusammensetzung angegeben, enthaltend einen größeren Anteil eines Fetts, 0,01 bis 10 Gew.-% eines Reaktionsprodukts aus einer Umsetzung eines Esters der Formel
- R(COOR¹)n
- worin n eine Zahl von 1 bis 5 sowie R und R¹ jeweils einen noder einwertigen Kohlenwasserstoff- oder Hydroxykohlenwasserstoffrest mit 1 bis 40 Kohlenstoffatomen, vorzugsweise 8 bis 20 Kohlenstoffatomen, bedeuten, wobei mindestens einer der Reste R oder R¹ einen Hydroxykohlenwasserstoffrest darstellt, mit einer Borverbindung, die ein Metaborat oder eine ähnliche Borquelle, Borsäure, Boroxid oder ein Alkylborat der Formel
- (R²O)xB(OH)y
- worin R² einen Alkylrest mit 1 bis 6 Kohlenstoffatomen sowie x eine Zahl von 1 bis 3 und y eine Zahl von 0 bis 2 bedeuten, wobei deren Summe die Zahl 3 ist, sein kann, und ein Verdickungsmittel, das mindestens 15 Gew.-% einer Lithiumseife einer Hydroxyfettsäure eines Fettglycerids oder Fettesters mit 12 bis 30 Kohlenstoffatomen enthält, wobei der Tropfpunkt der Fettzusammensetzung mindestens 240ºC beträgt.
- Diese Erfindung sieht auch den Einsatz eines Verdickungsmittels vor, das mindestens 15 Gew.-% einer Lithiumseife einer Hydroxyfettsäure, eines Fettglycerids oder eines Fettesters mit 12 bis 30 Kohlenstoffatomen enthält, um den Tropfpunkt einer Fettzusammensetzung zu verbessern, die einen größeren Anteil eines Fetts und 0,01 bis 10 Gew.-% eines Reaktionsprodukts enthält, das durch Umsetzen eines Esters der Formel
- R(COOR¹)n
- worin n eine Zahl von 1 bis 5 sowie R und R¹ Kohlenwasserstoffreste oder Hydroxykohlenwasserstoffreste mit 1 bis 40 Kohlenstoffatomen bedeuten, wobei mindestens einer der Reste R und R¹ ein Hydroxykohlenwasserstoffrest ist, mit einer Borverbindung erhalten worden ist.
- Die Anwesenheit von Phosphor- und Schwefelgruppen führt sogar zu einem höheren Tropfpunkt. Kohlenwasserstoffreste und Hydroxykohlenwasserstoffreste sind beispielsweise Alkyl-, Aryl-, Aralkyl-, Alkaryl- und Cycloalkylreste. Vorzugsweise ist der Ester überboriert, was bedeutet, daß in dem Produkt mehr als die stöchiometrische Bormenge vorliegt.
- Die Ester können 1 bis 5 Hydroxylgruppen im Molekül enthalten. Sie können alle an R oder R¹ oder in verschiedenen Anteilen an R und R¹ gebunden sein. Ferner können die Hydroxylgruppen entlang der Kette des Restes R oder R¹ an irgendeiner Position oder an irgendwelchen Positionen vorliegen. Es ist selbstverständlich, daß die Ester vor der Reaktion mit der Borverbindung mindestens eine freie Hydroxylgruppe enthalten.
- Die beschriebenen Ester können durch im Stand der Technik bekannte Methoden hergestellt werden. Im allgemeinen werden sie durch Umsetzen der gewünschten Säure oder des Acylhalogenids und des Alkohols bei Temperaturen und während Zeiträumen hergestellt, die der Fachmann leicht auswählen kann. Um einen Ester mit einer freien Hydroxylgruppe entweder in dem Rest R oder in dem Rest R¹ zu erhalten, werden die Anteile der Reaktionspartner entsprechend gewählt, wie der Fachmann weiß. Geeignete Hydroxyester vor der Borierung sind beispielsweise Trimethylolpropanmonooleat, Trimethylolpropandioleat, Trimethylolpropanmonostearat, Trimethylolpropandistearat, Trimethylolpropanmonopelargonat, Trimethylolpropanmonooleatmonopelargonat, Pentaerythritmonooleat, Pentaerythritdioleat, Pentaerythrittrioleat, Pentaerythritmonoisostearat, Pentaerythritmonooleatmonopelargonat, Pentaerythritmonoisostearatmonopelargonat, Pentaerythritmonoisostearatmonohexanoat, Pentaerythrittripelargonat, Glycerinmonooleat, Glycerindioleat, Glycerinmonostearat, Glycerinmonoricinoleat, Glycerinmonoisostearat, Glycerinmonopelargonat, Glycerinmonohexadecanoat, Sorbitanmonooleat, Sorbitandioleat, Sorbitanmonostearat, Sorbitandistearat, Sorbitanmonopelargonat, Dipentaerythritmonooleat, Dipentaerythritdioleat, Dipentaerythrittrioleat, Ethylenglykolmonooleat, Ethylenglykolmonostearat, Ethylenglykolmonoisostearat, Diethylenglykolmonooleat, Diethylenglykolmonopelargonat, Diethylenglykolmonoisostearat und Triethylenglykolmonooleat, Methylhydroxystearat und Ethylhydroxystearat sowie Gemische der vorgenannten Verbindungen.
- Die borierten Ester der Erfindung können durch Umsetzen eines oben angegebenen Esters mit einer Borverbindung, wie Boroxid, einem Metaborat, Borsäure, einem Alkylborat oder einem Gemisch aus solchen Verbindungen, hergestellt werden. Die erhaltenen Produkte sind hauptsächlich borierte Ester, aber andere mögliche Produkte, die vorliegen, sind Reaktionsprodukte zwischen Esterdimeren oder höheren Oligomeren und einer Borverbindung zur Herstellung der entsprechenden borierten Ester.
- Wie oben erwähnt, ist die eingesetzte Borverbindung Borsäure, Boroxid oder ein Alkylborat, vorzugsweise Borsäure. Die Alkylborate sind beispielsweise Mono-, Di- und Trialkylborate, wie die Mono-, Di- und Trimethylborate, Mono-, Di- und Triethylborate, Mono-, Di- und Tripropylborate, Mono-, Di- und Tributylborate, Mono-, Di- und Tripentylborate sowie Mono-, Di- und Trihexylborate.
- Die Reaktion zur Bildung der borierten Ester kann bei einer Temperatur von 80 bis 260ºC, vorzugsweise von 110 bis 180ºC, durchgeführt werden. Die gewählte Temperatur hängt größtenteils von den speziellen Reaktionspartnern sowie davon ab, ob ein Lösungsmittel verwendet wird oder nicht. Die Reaktionsdrücke können als Vakuum, atmosphärischer Druck oder Überdruck gewählt werden. Bei der Durchführung der Reaktion ist es bevorzugt, daß die Mengen der Reaktionspartner so gewählt werden, daß das Molverhältnis von Ester zu Borverbindung 1 : 4, vorzugsweise 1 : 2, insbesondere etwa 1, beträgt. Der Ester kann mit einem Überschuß des Borierungsmittels umgesetzt werden, um einen borierten Ester zu bilden, der 0,1 bis mehr als 10 Gew.-% Bor enthält.
- Obwohl atmosphärischer Druck im allgemeinen bevorzugt ist, kann die Reaktion vorteilhafterweise bei 1 bis 5 Atmosphären ablaufen. Ferner kann, wenn es die Bedingungen rechtfertigen, ein Lösungsmittel benutzt werden. Im allgemeinen kann man irgendein relativ unpolares, nicht reaktionsfähiges Lösungsmittel benutzen, beispielsweise Benzol, Toluol, Xylol und 1,4-Dioxan. Andere Kohlenwasserstoffe und alkoholische Lösungsmittel, wie Propanol, Butanol und Hexamethylenglykol, können verwendet werden. Auch Gemische aus alkoholischen Lösungsmitteln und Kohlenwasserstofflösungsmitteln kommen in Frage.
- Die Reaktionszeit ist nicht kritisch. So kann jede Phase des Verfahrens in 1 bis 20 h durchgeführt werden.
- Eine enge Klasse von Verdickungsmitteln wird eingesetzt, um das Fett gemäß der Erfindung herzustellen. Die Verdickungsmittel enthalten mindestens einen Anteil einer Lithiumseife einer Hydroxyfettsäure, eines Fettglycerids oder eines Fettesters mit 12 bis 30 Kohlenstoffatomen pro Molekül. Bevorzugte Verbindungen dieser Säuren und Fettstoffe sind 12- Hydroxystearinsäure, 14-Hydroxystearinsäure, 16-Hydroxystearinsäure, 6-Hydroxystearinsäure oder ein Glycerid oder Ester hiervon.
- Die Gesamtmenge des Verdickungsmittels braucht nicht von den vorgenannten Verbindungen abgeleitet zu sein. Deutliche Vorteile können durch den Einsatz von einer kleinen Menge hiervon, wie 15 Gew.-% des gesamten Verdickungsmittels, erreicht werden. Die komplementäre Menge, beispielsweise bis zu 85 Gew.-% , einer Vielzahl von Verdickungsmitteln kann in dem Fett der Erfindung benutzt werden. Neben anderen wertvollen Verdickungsmitteln sind beispielsweise Alkali- und Erdalkalimetallseifen von Methyl-12-hydroxystearat, Diester einer C&sub4;- bis C&sub1;&sub2;-Dicarbonsäure und Tallölfettsäuren zu nennen. Es können auch andere Alkali- oder Erdalkalimetallfettsäuren mit 12 bis 30 Kohlenstoffatomen und ohne freie Hydroxylgruppe eingesetzt werden. Diese sind beispielsweise Seifen von Stearinsäure und Ölsäure.
- Die Herstellung der Verdickungsmittel kann in einer Vielzahl von Vorrichtungen zur Fettherstellung, z. B. in offenen Kesseln unter vermindertem, atmosphärischem oder erhöhtem Druck, in für höheren Druck ausgelegten Reaktionskammern, die bei einem Druck von 180 psig betrieben werden können, oder in kontinuierlich arbeitenden Vorrichtungen erfolgen. Der Temperaturbereich des Hauptfetts in der Herstellung kann im Bereich von 15 bis 238ºC (60 bis 460ºF) liegen.
- Andere Verdickungsmittel enthalten Salz- und Salz-Seife- Komplexe, wie Calciumstearatacetat (US-Patent Nr. 2 197 263), Bariumstearatacetat (US-Patent Nr. 2 564 561) und Calciumstearatcaprylatacetat-Komplexe (US-Patent Nr. 2 999 066), sowie Calciumsalze und Seifen von nieder-, mittel- und hochmolekularen Säuren und Nußölsäuren.
- Eine andere Gruppe von Verdickungsmitteln enthält substituierte Harnstoffe, Phthalocyanine, Indanthren, Pigmente, wie Perylimide, Pyromellitdiimide und Ammelin, sowie gewisse hydrophobe Tone. Diese Verdickungsmittel können aus Tonen hergestellt werden, die anfänglich hydrophilen Charakter haben, aber vor ihrem Einsatz als Komponente in einer Fettzusammensetzung durch das Einführen eines langkettigen Kohlenwasserstoffrests in die Oberfläche des Tons zu einem hydrophoben Verhalten gebracht worden sind, beispielsweise durch eine Vorbehandlung mit einem organischen kationischen oberflächenaktiven Mittel, wie einer Oniumverbindung. Typische Oniumverbindungen sind Tetraalkylammoniumchloride, wie Dimethyldioctadecylammoniumchlorid, Dimethyldibenzylammoniumchlorid und Gemische dieser Verbindungen. Diese Umwandlungsmethode ist dem Fachmann gut bekannt.
- Die dritte Komponente oder eine Mehrzahl hiervon, die in der Fettzusammensetzung vorliegen kann, sind Phosphor- und Schwefelgruppen. Beide können im gleichen Molekül vorhanden sein, beispielsweise in einem metallhaltigen oder nichtmetallhaltigen Phosphordithioat der Formel
- worin R³ einen Kohlenwasserstoffrest mit 3 bis 18 Kohlenstoffatomen, M vorzugsweise ein Metall, aber auch ein Nichtmetall, wie es beispielsweise unten erwähnt ist, n die Wertigkeit von M und Z Sauerstoff oder Schwefel bedeuten, wobei mindestens ein Z Schwefel darstellt.
- In dieser Verbindung ist R³ vorzugsweise ein Alkylrest und kann eine Propyl-, Butyl-, Pentyl-, Hexyl-, Octyl-, Decyl-, Dodecyl-, Tetradecyl- oder Octadecylgruppe, einschließlich jener, die von Isopropanol, Propanol, Butanol, Isobutanol, Sec.-Butanol, 4-Methyl-2-pentanol, 2-Ethylhexanol, Oleylalkohol und Gemischen dieser Verbindungen abgeleitet sind, sein. Ferner kommen beispielsweise Alkarylreste, wie
- Butylphenyl-, Octylphenyl-, Nonylphenyl- und Dodecylphenylgruppen in Betracht.
- Die von M umfaßten Metalle sind beispielsweise jene der Gruppen IA, IIA, IIB und VIII des Periodensystems. Einige, die erwähnt werden können, sind Lithium, Natrium, Calcium, Zink, Cadmium, Silber, Gold und Molybdän. Nichtmetallische Ionen sind beispielsweise organische Reste, die abgeleitet sind von Vinylestern, wie Vinylacetat, von Vinylethern, wie Butylvinylether, und von Epoxiden, wie Propylenoxid und 1,2- Epoxydodecan. Die nichtmetallischen Ionen können auch von Stickstoffverbindungen abgeleitet sein, beispielsweise von Kohlenwasserstoffaminen und -diaminen, einschließlich Oleylamin und N-Oleyl-1,3-propylendiamin, sowie von den Imidazolinen und Oxazolinen.
- Der Phosphor und der Schwefel können auch mit einer Kombination aus zwei getrennten Verbindungen zugeführt werden, beispielsweise mit einer Kombination aus (1) einem Dihydrokohlenwasserstoffphosphit mit 2 bis 10 Kohlenstoffatomen in jedem Kohlenwasserstoffrest oder einem Phosphitgemisch und (2) einem Sulfid, wie sulforiertem Isobutylen, Dibenzyldisulfid, sulforierten Terpenen, Phosphorodithionyldisulfid und sulforiertem Jojobaöl. Die Phosphite sind beispielsweise das Dibutyl-, Dihexyl-, Dioctyl- und Didecylphosphit sowie ähnliche Phosphite. Auch können Phosphatester mit 4 bis 20 Kohlenstoffatomen in jedem Kohlenwasserstoffrest, wie Tributylphosphat, Tridecylphosphat, Tricresylphosphat und Gemische aus solchen Phosphaten, eingesetzt werden.
- Insgesamt gilt, daß es für die Praxis der vorliegenden Erfindung, in deren Rahmen Fette mit verbesserten Tropfpunkten erhalten werden, wesentlich ist, daß mindestens die ersten beiden der vorgenannten Bestandteile in die Zusammensetzung eingearbeitet werden. Somit enthält erstens, in bezug auf die Herstellung des Fetts, das Verdickungsmittel mindestens 15 Gew.-% einer hydroxylhaltigen Metall- oder Nichtmetallseife, wobei das gesamte Verdickungsmittel 3 bis 20 Gew.-% der Fettzusammensetzung ausmacht. Zweitens werden dem Fett 0,01 bis 10 Gew.-%, vorzugsweise 0,1 bis 2 % eines borierten Esters zugegeben, wobei ein solcher Ester mit vorzugsweise mindestens einer äquimolaren Menge einer Borverbindung umgesetzt worden ist. Drittens kann die Zusammensetzung 0,01 bis 10 Gew.-%, vorzugsweise 0,2 bis 2 Gew.-%, phosphor- und schwefelhaltige Verbindungen oder ein Gemisch aus zwei oder mehr Verbindungen, welche getrennt die Phosphor- und Schwefelgruppen zuführen, enthalten. Wenn getrennte Verbindungen verwendet werden, setzt man eine Menge eines Gemisches ein, das den obigen Konzentrationsangaben äquivalent ist, um die gewünschten Mengen an Phosphor und Schwefel zuzuführen.
- Es wurde festgestellt, daß bei der Verwendung des hydroxylgruppenhaltigen Verdickungsmittels mit dem borierten Ester der Tropfpunkt des Fetts ganz unerwartet höher lag als bei einem Fett aus dem gleichen Fetträger und dem gleichen borierten Ester, jedoch mit einem verschiedenen Verdickungsmittel, wie einem keine Hydroxylgruppen enthaltenden Verdickungsmittel. Somit ist die breite Erfindung auf eine Fettzusammensetzung gerichtet, welche die zwei erwähnten Komponenten enthält.
- Im allgemeinen können die Reaktionsprodukte der vorliegenden Erfindung in irgendeiner Menge eingesetzt werden, die wirksam ist, um den gewünschten Grad an Reibungsverminderung, Antiverschleißaktivität, Antioxidationsaktivität, Hochtemperaturstabilität oder Antirostaktivität zu erreichen. Bei vielen Anwendungen jedoch werden die borierten Ester und die phosphor- und/oder schwefelhaltige Verbindung oder eine Mehrzahl hiervon in Gesamtmengen von 0,02 Gew.-%, vorzugsweise von 0,2 bis 4 %, des Gesamtgewichts der Zusammensetzung erfolgreich eingesetzt.
- Die Fette der vorliegenden Erfindung können entweder aus einem Mineralöl oder einem synthetischen Öl oder Gemischen hieraus hergestellt werden. Im allgemeinen können Mineralöle, sowohl paraffinische, naphthenische und Gemische hiervon, aus irgendeinem geeigneten Bereich der Schmierviskosität entstammen, beispielsweise aus einem Bereich von 45 SSU bei 37,8ºC bis 6000 SSU bei 37,8ºC, vorzugsweise aus einem Bereich von 50 bis 250 SSU bei 99ºC. Diese Öle können einen Viskositätsindex bis zu 100 oder höher aufweisen. Ein Viskositätsindex von 70 bis 95 ist bevorzugt. Die durchschnittlichen Molekulargewichte dieser Öle können im Bereich von 250 bis 800 liegen. Beim Herstellen des Fetts wird das Schmieröl, aus dem das Fett hergestellt wird, im allgemeinen in einer Menge verwendet, die ausreicht, um den Rest der gesamten Fettzusammensetzung zu bilden, nachdem die gewünschte Menge des Verdickungsmittels sowie andere einzusetzende Zusatzkomponenten in der Fettformulierung berücksichtigt worden sind.
- In Fällen, in denen synthetische Öle gegenüber Mineralölen bevorzugt werden, können verschiedene Verbindungen dieser Art erfolgreich benutzt werden. Typische synthetische Träger sind z. B. Polyisobutylen, Polybutene, hydrierte Polydecene, Polypropylenglykol, Polyethylenglykol, Trimethylolpropanester, Neopentyl- und Pentaerythritester, Di-(2- ethylhexyl)-sebacat, Di-(2-ethylhexyl )-adipat, Dibutylphthalat, Fluorkohlenwasserstoffe, Kieselsäureester, Silane, Ester von phosphorhaltigen Säuren, flüssige Harnstoffe, Ferrocenderivate, hydrierte synthetische Öle, kettenartige Polyphenyle, Siloxane und Silicone (Polysiloxane), alkylsubstituierte Diphenylether, beispielsweise ein butylsubstituierter Bis-(p-phenoxyphenyl)-ether, und Phenoxyphenylether.
- Die Metallseifen enthaltenden Fettzusammensetzungen, welche einen oder mehrere der hydroxylgruppenhaltigen borierten Ester und ggf. eine oder mehrere der hier beschriebenen Schwefel-Phosphor-Kombinationen enthalten, bieten Vorteile in bezug auf einen erhöhten Tropfpunkt, verbesserte Fettkonsistenzeigenschaften sowie Antirosteigenschaften und bieten Vorteile durch ein deutliches Antiermüdungs-, Antiverschleiß- und Antioxidationsverhalten, wie sie bei irgendwelchen üblichen Fetten nicht bekannt sind. Die Fettzusammensetzung der vorliegenden Erfindung ist einzigartig insofern, als sie vorzugsweise durch Einmischen von Additivmengen des Alkoholborats in die vollständig gebildete Fettseife nach der Vervollständigung der Verseifung hergestellt werden kann.
- Die folgenden Beispiele stellen Erläuterungen der Erfindung dar.
- Ein Reaktor, der mit einer Heizung, einem Rührer und einem Kühler ausgestattet war, wurde mit Glycerinmonooleat (115 g), bestehend aus einem Gemisch aus etwa 60 % Glycerinmonooleat und etwa 40 % Glycerindioleat, Xylol (38 g) und Butanol (122 g) beschickt. Der Reaktorinhalt wurde auf 50ºC erhitzt, und dann wurde Borsäure (100 g) dem Ester und dem Lösungsmittel zugegeben. Das Reaktionsgemisch wurde auf 204ºC erhitzt und dort für etwa 3 h gehalten, bis die Bildung von Wasser beendet ist. Der Reaktorinhalt wurde auf 155ºC abgekühlt, und dann wurde Vakuum (weniger als 2 mm Hg) angelegt, um die Lösungsmittel abzutrennen. Das Rohprodukt wurde auf 105ºC weiter abgekühlt und dann über Diatomeenerde filtriert, wobei eine viskose bernsteinfarbene Flüssigkeit erhalten wurde.
- Es wurde wie in Beispiel 1 vorgegangen, ausgenommen die Tatsache, daß die folgenden Gewichtsverhältnisse eingesetzt wurden, damit sich ein Borüberschuß ergibt:
- 7,55 pounds Glycerinmonooleat/pound Borsäure
- 1,13 pounds Butanol/pound Borsäure
- 0,17 pound Xylol/pound Borsäure
- Ein Lithiumhydroxystearatfettverdickungsmittel wurde durch Verseifen eines Gemisches, das 12-Hydroxystearinsäure (8 %) und das Glycerid hiervon (9 %) enthielt, mit Lithiumhydroxid in einem Mineralölträger bei 177ºC in einer geschlossenen Umsetzungsvorrichtung hergestellt. Nach dem Abstellen des Drucks und dem Dehydratisieren des Verdickungsmittels in einem offenen Kessel wurde genügend Mineralöl zugegeben, um den Gehalt des Verdickungsmittels auf 9,0 % zu vermindern. Nach dem Abkühlen auf 99ºC wurde eine typische Zusammenstellung von Fettadditiven, bestehend aus einem Amin- Antioxidationsmittel, einem phenolischen Antioxidationsmittel, einem metallhaltigen Dithiophosphat, einem schwefelhaltigen Metalldeaktivator und stickstoffhaltigen Antirostadditiven, zugegeben. Dadurch erhielt man ein Basisfett zur Bewertung der Wirkung von borierten hydroxylgruppenhaltigen Estern auf den Fettropfpunkt und auf andere Eigenschaften.
- Dem Fett des Beispiels 3 wurden 2 Gew. -% des borierten Glycerinmonooleats des Beispiels 1 zugegeben. Die Zugabe erfolgte in einem Laborfettmischer bei 110 bis 116ºC.
- Es wurde wie in Beispiel 4 vorgegangen, mit der Ausnahme, daß 2 Gew. -% des borierten Glycerinmonooleats des Beispiels 2 verwendet wurden.
- Die Herstellung erfolgte wie beim Fett des Beispiels 3, mit der Ausnahme, daß das Mineralöl mit der Lithiumseife eines 50/50-Gemisches (Gew.-%) aus Stearin- und Palmitinsäure verdickt wurde.
- Die unter Anwendung des Tests ASTM D-2265-78 erhaltenen Ergebnisse sind in der Tabelle I zusammengefaßt. TABELLE I Probe Tropfpunkt nach D 2265, ºC Basisfett Beispiel enthaltend ein Amin-Antioxidationsmittel, ein phenolisches Antioxidationsmittel, 1,5 Gew-% Zinkdialkylphosphorodithioat, worin die Alkylreste von einem Gemisch aus primären C&sub3;- bis C&sub6;-Alkoholen abgeleitet sind, und ein schwefelhaltiger Metalldeaktivator sowie stickstoffhaltige Antirostadditive Basisfett A + 2,0 Gew.-% boriertes Glycerinmonooleat (1/3 Borüberschuß) Basisfett, verdickt mit Lithium und Lithiumseife eines 50/50-Gemisches (Gew.-%) aus Stearin- und Palmitinsäure 50 Gew. -% des in den Beispielen 4 und 5 verwendeten Basisfetts A und 50 Gew.-% des Basisfetts B des Beispiels 6 Basisfett des Beispiels 6, enthaltend 2 Gew.-% boriertes Glycerinmonooleat des Beispiels 1
- Beispiel 8 zeigt klar keine Tropfpunktverbesserung, wenn der borierte Ester einem Fett zugegeben wird, das durch eine Carbonsäureseife ohne Hydroxylgruppen verdickt worden ist.
Claims (17)
1. Verfahren zur Herstellung einer verbesserten
Fettzusammensetzung durch Formulieren eines größeren Anteils
eines Fetts, 0,01 bis 10 Gew.-% eines Reaktionsprodukts
aus einer Umsetzung eines Esters der Formel
R(COOR¹)n
worin n eine Zahl von 1 bis 5 sowie R und R¹
Hydrokohlenwasserstoff- oder
Hydroxyhydrokohlenwasserstoffreste mit 1 bis 40 Kohlenstoffatomen bedeuten,
wobei mindestens einer der Reste R und R¹ einen
Hydroxyhydrokohlenwasserstoffrest bedeutet, mit einer
Borverbindung, sowie eines Verdickungsmittels, das
mindestens 15 Gew.-% einer Lithiumseife einer
hydroxylgruppenhaltigen Fettsäure, eines Fettglycerids
oder eines Fettesters mit 12 bis 30 Kohlenstoffatomen
enthält, wobei der Tropfpunkt der Fettzusammensetzung
mindestens 240ºC beträgt.
2. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1, wobei zusätzlich 0,01 bis
10 Gew.-% einer Phosphor- und Schwefelverbindung oder
eines Gemisches aus einer phosphorhaltigen und einer
schwefelhaltigen Verbindung einformuliert werden, um eine
äquivalente Menge an Phosphor und Schwefel
bereitzustellen.
3. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1 oder 2, worin das
Verdickungsmittel von 12-Hydroxystearinsäure,
14-Hydroxystearinsäure, 16-Hydroxystearinsäure,
6-Hydroxystearinsäure oder einem Glycerid oder Ester hiervon abgeleitet
ist.
4. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1, 2 und 3, worin R einen Alkyl-,
Aryl-, Aralkyl-, Alkaryl- oder Cycloalkylrest oder einen
solchen Rest, der hydroxysubstituiert ist, bedeutet.
5. Verfahren nach Anspruch 4, worin der Ester
Trimethylolpropanmonooleat, Trimethylolpropandioleat,
Trimethylolpropanmonostearat, Trimethylolpropandistearat,
Trimethylolpropanmonopelargonat,
Trimethylolpropanmonooleatmonopelargonat, Pentaerythritmonooleat,
Pentaerythritdioleat, Pentaerythrittrioleat,
Pentaerythritmonoisostearat, Pentaerythritmonooleatmonopelargonat,
Pentaerythritmonoisostearatmonopelargonat,
Pentaerythritmonoisostearatmonohexanoat, Pentaerythrittripelargonat,
Glycerinmonooleat, Glycerindioleat, Glycerinmonostearat,

6. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1, 2, 3, 4 oder 5, worin die
Borverbindung aus der Gruppe ausgewählt ist, die aus
einem Metaborat, Borsäure, Mono-, Di- und Trimethylborat,
Mono-, Di- und Triethylborat, Mono-, Di- und
Tripropylborat, Mono-, Di- und Tributylborat, Mono-, Di-
und Tripentylborat und Mono-, Di- und Trihexylborat
besteht.
7. Verfahren nach Anspruch 2, 3, 4, 5 oder 6, worin die
Phosphor- und Schwefelgruppen durch ein Phosphorthioat
der Formel
worin R³ ein Hydrokohlenwasserstoffrest mit 3 bis 18
Kohlenstoffatomen, M ein Metall oder Nichtmetall, n eine
Wertigkeit von M und Z Sauerstoff oder Schwefel bedeuten,
wobei mindestens einer der Reste Z Schwefel darstellt,
bereitgestellt werden.
8. Verfahren nach Anspruch 7, worin R³ von Isopropanol,
Butanol, Isobutanol, Sec.-Butanol, 4-Methyl-2-pentanol,
2-Ethylhexanol oder Gemischen hiervon abgeleitet ist.
9. Verfahren nach Anspruch 7, worin M ein Metall der Gruppe
IA, IIA, IIB oder VIII des Periodensystems bedeutet.
10. Verfahren nach Anspruch 9, worin das Metall Lithium,
Natrium, Molybdän, Calcium, Zink, Cadmium, Silber oder
Gold ist.
11. Verfahren nach Anspruch 7, worin M von Vinylacetat,
Butylvinylether, Propylenoxid, 1,2-Epoxydodecan oder
stickstoffhaltigen Verbindungen abgeleitet ist.
12. Verfahren nach Anspruch 2, worin die Phosphor- und
Schwefelgruppen durch eine Kombination aus (1) einem
Dihydrokohlenwasserstoffphosphit mit 2 bis 6
Kohlenstoffatomen in jedem Kohlenwasserstoffrest, Gemischen
solcher Phosphite oder einem Phosphatester mit 4 bis 20
Kohlenstoffatomen in jedem Hydrokohlenwasserstoffrest
sowie (2) einem Sulfid, das aus sulforiertem Isobutylen,
Dibenzyldisulfid, sulforierten Terpenen,
Phosphorodithionyldisulfid und sulforiertem Jojobaöl ausgewählt
ist, bereitgestellt werden.
13. Verfahren nach Anspruch 12, worin das Phosphit ein
Dibutyl-, Dihexyl-, Dioctyl- oder Didecylphosphit oder
ein Gemisch hiervon ist.
14. Verfahren nach Anspruch 12, worin der Phosphatester ein
Tributyl-, Tridecyl- oder Tricresylphosphat oder ein
Gemisch hiervon ist.
15. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1, worin der Ester
Glycerinmonooleat, die Borverbindung Borsäure und das
Verdickungsmittel Lithium-12-hydroxystearat sind sowie
die Phosphor- und Schwefelgruppen von einem
Zinkdialkylphosphordithioat, worin der Alkylrest ein
Gemisch aus Alkylresten mit 3 bis 6 Kohlenstoffatomen
ist, stammen.
16. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1, worin der Fettträger ein
Mineralöl, ein synthetisches Öl oder ein Gemisch hiervon
ist.
17. Verwendung eines Verdickungsmittels, das mindestens
15 Gew.-% einer Lithiumseife einer
hydroxylgruppenhaltigen Fettsäure, eines Fettglycerids oder eines
Fettesters mit 12 bis 30 Kohlenstoffatomen enthält, um
den Tropfpunkt einer Fettzusammensetzung zu verbessern,
die einen größeren Anteil eines Fetts und 0,01 bis
10 Gew.-% eines Reaktionsprodukts aus einer Umsetzung
eines Esters der Formel
R(COOR¹)n
worin n eine Zahl von 1 bis 5 sowie R und R¹
Hydrokohlenwasserstoff- oder
Hydroxykohlenwasserstoffreste mit 1 bis 40 Kohlenstoffatomen bedeuten, wobei
mindestens einer der Reste R und R¹ einen
Hydroxykohlenwasserstoffrest darstellt, mit einer
Borverbindung, enthält.
