Abstract
Description
Continuous dryer in which the material to be dried, e.g. B. a tape, non-contact in the sag or supported by floating jets through the tunnel-like design ten dryer is carried out in surface technology, z. B. as a paint dryer diverse application. Many paints contain solvents, the vapors of which Drying with the hot air used for drying is ignitable or explosive Form a mixture. Therefore, for security technology reasons, such a large volumes of air are passed through the dryer, that for all conceivable Lö nowhere in the dryer the prescribed safety distance between the solvent concentration in operation and the solvent concentration tration, at which there is a risk of explosion. This requires egg nen high expenditure on actuators and measuring equipment, since the area of Dryer in which the highest solvent concentration occurs, for under different paints, e.g. B. paints with high-boiling or low-boiling Lö can be very different and therefore all zones of the dryer seen from the beginning and end of the dryer, must be able to handle the high Lö coping with the amount of food. The result is high manufacturing and installation costs as well as a high level of regulation, control and security technology nik.
This disadvantageous high effort is avoided in the dryer according to the invention the, by the anyway from thermal and drying green the quite high volume flow with which the drying material is blown, completely or to a considerable extent in direct current in the direction of through-flow of the dry material passed through the dryer and consequently the highest concentration of the solvent must necessarily occur at the end of the dryer. It is sufficient So to measure this concentration and an exhaust air volume flow at the dryer deduct the end such that the solvent concentration in the uncritical range remains or with knowledge of the operating situation for the highest amount of solvents adjust the exhaust air volume flow to be deducted at the end of the dryer in such a way that no critical condition can occur for this worst case. The Liberation the exhaust air drawn off from the dryer from the solvent takes place in the usual way Way with a downstream exhaust air purification, for. B. a thermal or ka analytical afterburning.
Since the entire dryer exhaust air is drawn off at the end of the dryer, the dryer supply air at the beginning of the dryer. In addition, with dryers with direct heating, e.g. B. by gas burners, the necessary for combustion Combustion air is fed to each burner. The exhaust air mass flow can So be larger than the supply air mass flow, because the combustion gas masses flow in the dryer to the fresh air mass flow fed in at the beginning of the dryer added. Depending on the amount of solvent, part of the large can be in cocurrent with the drying material through the gas flow through a dryer Recirculated air duct led to the beginning of the dryer and mixed with the fresh air there, so that the fresh air requirement is reduced accordingly and also the capacity may be reduced to the desired temperature to heat the fresh air. The possibility of returning the exhaust air at the beginning of the dryer is particularly important given if there are already significant proportions of the drying process in the dry ner resulting solvent vapor in the open heating devices are burned with which the dryer receives the necessary process heat leads. This possibility of internal thermal exhaust gas cleaning by Lö Liquid combustion is compared to the dryer according to the invention Known dryers increased in that according to the invention that in cocurrent volume of gas flowing through the dryer to heating devices several times flows past and consequently several times in contact with at the appropriate temperature heated surfaces, e.g. B. flame pipes comes what the increased burnout caused by solvents.
A great drying advantage of the new dryer is that the Lö solvent concentration at the dryer entrance, where with regard to a gentle the start of the drying process also the temperatures and / or heat transitions are selected the lowest, is the lowest. So here stands for the drying process the largest partial pressure difference of the solvent vapors to disposal. This partial pressure difference decreases over the drying length, at the same time, however, the drying temperature is increased because at the end of drying a certain minimum temperature is required to bake the dried layer is such. Increasing the drying temperature increases the Drying speed. This increase in drying speed drops however, in comparison to known dryers, it looks moderate, as it is also used in Passing direction increasing drying temperature the partial pressure difference between solvent vapor on the good surface and solvent vapor in the Dryer atmosphere is reduced. This is a great advantage because of the diffusion of Solvents from the drying layer, especially with larger drying layer thicknesses become more difficult the further the drying process progresses is. If the drying is too strong, solvents can already be in the paint layer evaporate before it reaches the surface by diffusion. The result is crater-like damage to the paint layer, which occurs with high quality paint must not occur.
The new dryer according to the invention therefore has not only a technically small one effort, which makes the dryer cheaper to manufacture and operate, but also has significant procedural advantages.
Es zeigtThe dryer according to the invention is described below with reference to a game Ausführungsbei. Figs. 1 to 4 are illustrative. It shows

Fig. 4 shows three views of the convection system from which the dryer is modular.
The material to be dried ( 1 ), in the exemplary case a belt, is moved through the dryer in the direction indicated by the arrow ( 2 ). The belt ( 1 ) can be guided either in free sag or supported by floating nozzles 7 o, 7 u. It is also possible to use a combination of slack and floating nozzle support, which is particularly advantageous if the strong blowing of the dry material surface required for floating guidance is not yet possible due to surface sensitivity at the beginning of the dryer. The convection modules ( 3 ), which are again shown separately in FIG. 4, are staggered in the dryer. These convection modules each consist of a radial fan ( 4 ) positioned to the side of the material to be dried in a 360 ° spiral housing, a blow-out duct ( 5 ), at the end of which a hose-like flow divider connects, an upper ( 6 o) and a lower ( 6 u) Distribution channel to which the upper ( 7 o) or lower ( 7 u) blowing ribs are connected, between which the band ( 1 ) is guided. At the end of the distributor ( 5 ), for. B. in the inlet cross-sections of the tube-like flow distribution Stellor gane, z. B. flaps can be arranged with which the blowing strength of the drying material for the top and bottom can be set separately. It is advantageous to design the flaps ( 20 ) such that they simultaneously open a bypass when the flow to the nozzle ribs is throttled, so that the volume flow conveyed by the fan is changed as little as possible despite the reduced nozzle outflow. These convection modules ( 3 ), as shown in Fig. 2, are staggered in the dryer so that, as indicated by the flow arrows ( 8 ), the outflow from the nozzle field of the upstream convection module from the ventilator of the downstream convection module is detected and conveyed becomes. In this way there is a meandering flow in cocurrent with the direction of movement ( 2 ) of the dry material ( 1 ). In order to make room for the installation of the heating devices, in the exemplary case the burner ( 9 ), the convection modules ( 3 ) are angled in their direction according to the angle ( 10 ). As a result, a space with an approximately triangular base area identified by the reference number ( 11 ) in FIG. 2 is available to the side of each nozzle array. This room can accommodate powerful burners, which can be surrounded by flame tubes. It can also special facilities for flow management, such. B. baffles, etc. can be seen before to improve the contact of the dryer atmosphere with the burner flame or the flame tube. This room allows at the same time with the generous access openings ( 12 ) z. B. are closed by double doors, easy access to cleaning and inspection work.
The great advantage of the meandering guidance of the gas flow in the dryer is that even with one-sided flow supply with the convection modules according to FIG. 4 no asymmetrical drying over the bandwidth can occur, since the direction of flow changes from module to module from side to side and consequently Lich Any slight differences can be compensated for by the continuous movement of the dry material.
The last zone of the dryer ( 13 ) serves as a calming and holding zone before the material to be dried enters the downstream cooling part, not shown in the figures. This cooling section consists of convectionally designed air, air water or water cooling zones with an optionally downstream zone for blowing off and / or drying the water-moist surface. The last zone ( 13 ) contains the exhaust fan ( 14 ), which promotes the exhaust air in the exhaust duct. Instead of a separate exhaust air fan, the exhaust air flow can also be promoted directly by the thermal afterburning fan. In addition, the zone ( 13 ) contains a circulating air fan ( 15 ) which leads a part of the gas flow conducted in cocurrent through the dryer through the circulating air channel ( 16 ) to the beginning of the dryer in the first zone ( 17 ). In this entrance zone ( 17 ) two Blas solution modules ( 18 o) and ( 18 u) are housed, with which, each fed by a separate fan ( 19 o) and ( 19 u), there is a blowing of the top and bottom of the band can, with the separately possible different speed setting of the fans ( 19 o) and ( 19 u) the blowing strength can be adapted to the respective needs for both sides. With these blowing modules, the circulating air flow brought in with the circulating air duct ( 16 ) is mixed into the dryer atmosphere. It is advantageous to also feed fresh air into this air recirculation line, which is previously heated to the desired temperature by means of a corresponding heating device. Fresh air preheating can also be carried out in the usual way with the waste heat from thermal afterburning, which is generally used for cleaning the exhaust air. The fresh air supply and the fresh air heating take place in a known manner according to the prior art, so that it is not necessary to show the corresponding devices in FIGS. 1 to 4.
