Abstract
Se han desarrollado métodos para incrementar la encapsulación o incorporación de sunitinib en matrices poliméricas. Las formulaciones resultantes proporcionan liberación controlada más sostenida de sunitinib o su análogo o una sal farmacéuticamente aceptable del mismo. La carga incrementada se logra utilizando un sistema de solvente alcalino. Las composiciones farmacéuticas se pueden administrar para tratar o prevenir una enfermedad o trastorno en o sobre el ojo de un paciente asociado con vascularización, tal como neovascularización corneal y degeneración macular aguda. En la administración, el sunitinib o su análogo o sal se libera durante un período de tiempo prolongado en concentraciones que son bastante altas para producir beneficio terapéutico, pero bastante bajas para evitar niveles inaceptables de citotoxicidad.
