技术领域
本发明主要涉及适用于通用发动机的附带排气净化功能的排气***的改进。
背景技术
以往,作为发动机用附带排气净化功能的排气***,公知有在下述专利文献1中公开的如下装置,即,在中空的***本体的内面紧固有多孔质体的装置,该多孔质体上承载有排气净化用催化剂;还公知有在下述专利文献2中公开的如下装置,即,在中空的***本体内的排气通道中,设有承载排气净化用催化剂的蜂窝体或多孔质体。

在专利文献1公开的装置中,由于承载有排气净化用催化剂的多孔质体紧固在***本体的内壁上,因此,由于排气净化用催化剂产生的排气净化反应热会导致***本体过热,会给与排气***邻接的装置带来热危害;并且,在专利文献2公开的装置中,不仅结构复杂成本高,而且因为在蜂窝体或多孔质体上一口气地进行排气净化,排气温度将急剧上升,并且靠近***本体的蜂窝体或多孔质体的部分也将特别过热;进而,由蜂窝体或多孔质体所导致的发动机的背压上升,从而多少会伴随着输出功率降低,所以,尤其不适合排气量较小的通用发动机。
发明内容
本发明就是鉴于上述情况而提出的,其目的在于,提供一种发动机用附带排气净化功能的排气***,其对邻接装置的热危害较少,而且结构简单成本较低,并且发动机输出功率的降低较小。
为达到上述目的,本发明第一方面的特征在于,通过分隔部件将中空的***本体划分为第一排气室以及第二排气室,并且在该分隔部件形成第三排气室;在***本体设置排气入口,其用于将发动机的废气导入第一排气室;在分隔部件设置连通第一排气室与第二排气室之间的第一连通孔、和连通第二排气室与第三排气室的第二连通孔,第三排气室通过排气出口管向大气开放;在分隔部件面对第一与第二排气室的外表面、以及面对第三排气室的内表面上,承载有排气净化用催化剂,***本体的内面则为排气净化用催化剂的非承载面。
本发明的第二方面在第一方面的基础上,其特征在于,在第一排气室设置有第一扩散板,其使从排气入口流入第一排气室的废气扩散。
本发明的第三方面在第一或第二方面的基础上,其特征在于,在第二排气室设置有第二扩散板,该第二扩散板一面使从第一连通孔流入第二排气室的废气扩散,一面将其向第三排气室侧引导。
本发明的第四方面在第一方面的基础上,其特征在于,排气出口管的内面为排气净化用催化剂的非承载面。
本发明的效果是:
根据本发明的第一方面,发动机的废气在第一排气室~第三排气室顺次移动期间,在分隔部件的外表面及内表面上阶段性地受到净化作用,从而由净化反应热所导致的排气温度上升以及分隔部件自身温度的上升都尽可能减少。而且,因为***本体的内面为排气净化用催化剂的非承载面,所以可避免***本体过热,并能够容易地防止给邻接装置造成的热危害。另外,因为没有使用催化剂承载专用的蜂窝体或多孔质体,所以结构简单且可低价供应。
按照发动机的常用转数来适当地设定排气出口管的长度,由此可有效利用发动机的排气脉动,将外部气体引入第三排气室~第一排气室,并可提高基于氧化反应的排气净化性能。
进而,承载在分隔部件的外表面及内表面上的排气净化用催化剂几乎不会妨碍废气流动,因此可抑制发动机背压的上升,从而可尽可能防止输出功率降低。
而且,根据本发明的第二方面,通过第一扩散板使从排气入口流入第一排气室的废气在整个第一排气室中扩散,并使废气与承载有催化剂的分隔部件的外表面充分接触,从而可有效地净化废气。而且,由于从排气入口流入第一排气室的废气不会与分隔部件冲撞,所以分隔部件的外表面不会局部过热,从而可提高分隔部件的耐久性。
根据本发明的第三方面,从第一排气室通过第一连通孔转移到第二排气室的废气,一面通过第二扩散板扩散,一面整体地向第三排气室侧被引导,因此,废气在与承载有催化剂的分隔部件的、面对第二排气室的外表面充分接触并再次被净化后,可通过第二连通孔顺利地转移至第三排气室,且可提高排气净化效率。
进而,根据本发明的第四方面,可尽可能地抑制通过排气出口管的废气的温度上升,并可防止由废气引起的对邻接装置的影响。

首先,如图1~图3所示,通用发动机E的发动机本体1由曲轴箱2和汽缸3构成,上述曲轴箱2安装在下方,具有法兰盘(flange)2a,且水平地支撑着曲轴4,上述汽缸3从该曲轴箱2在一侧向斜上方突起,在曲轴箱2的正面侧安装有使曲轴4转动的反冲式发动机起动机5。而且,在发动机本体1安装有燃料箱T、进气空气过滤器A以及排气***M,上述燃料箱T配置在曲轴箱2的上方,上述进气空气过滤器A以及排气***M位于汽缸3上方且与燃料箱T邻接。
在图4中,上述汽缸3由下列部分构成:与曲轴箱2连接的汽缸体3a;汽缸盖3b,与该汽缸体3a的端面接合且具有与汽缸体3a内的活塞6面对的燃烧室7;以及汽缸盖罩(head cover)3c,与该汽缸盖3b接合且与汽缸盖3b间形成气门传动室8;在汽缸盖3b上通过螺栓12紧固着排气管10的下端连接法兰盘10a,该排气管10与连接在燃烧室7的排气口9相连通,且在该排气管10上连接有排气***M。
关于上述排气***M,根据图4~图8加以说明。
在图4以及图5中,排气***M由下列部分构成:箱型的***本体15;分隔部件19,在该***本体15内沿着一条对角线配置,并将***本体15内部划分为第一排气室16与第二排气室17;以及合成树脂制或钢板制的***罩20,覆盖***本体15的除排气管10侧下面以外的外部表面,且通过多个自攻螺钉21、21…紧固在***本体15上。
***本体15由沿一条对角线分隔开的钢板制的下部***半体15b及上部***半体15a构成,通过将上部***半体15a外周的铆接部22与下部***半体15b外周的法兰盘部23铆接,从而可将两个***半体15a、15b相结合。此时,通过将上述分隔部件19的外周夹持在铆接部22与法兰盘部23之间之间,从而使分隔部件19结合在***本体15上。
如图4所示,在下部***半体15b设有排气入口25,该排气入口25使排气管10向第一排气室16开口,覆盖该排气入口25且阻挡排气入口25与分隔部件19之间的第一扩散板26与下部***半体15b的内壁相接合,通过该第一扩散板26使从排气入口25流入第一排气室16中的废气扩散,从而防止废气向分隔部件19冲撞。
在第一扩散板26焊接有贯穿下部***半体15b的连接螺栓28,通过该连接螺栓28以及与其旋合的螺母29,将第一扩散板26及下部***半体15b紧固在上述排气管10的上端连接法兰盘10b上。这样,第一扩散板26兼用作下部***半体15b的加强板。
如图5~图8所示,分隔部件19由相互接合的、钢板制上部分隔半体19a和下部分隔半体19b构成,在下部分隔半体19b的一半部分上设置有相互隔开间隔排列的两组第一连通孔组31、31…及31、31…,通过这些连通孔可连通第一及第二排气室16、17。另外,在上部分隔半体19a的一半部分上通过切开立起而形成有一对第二扩散板27、27,其配置成覆盖上述两组第一连通孔组31、31…及31、31…,并且将从第一连通孔组31、31…及31、31…流入第二排气室17的废气引导到后述的第三排气室18侧。
在两个分隔半体19a、19b的另外一半部分之间,将两个分隔半体19a、19b向外侧鼓出而形成了第三排气室18,并且在上部分隔半体19a上设置有将第二排气室17与该第三排气室18连通的第二连通孔组32、32…。
而且,第三排气室18经由通过两组第一连通孔组31、31…及31、31…之间的排气出口管35向大气开放。
上述排气出口管35由管部件35a以及管状部35b构成,该管部件35a以横切第三排气室18的方式支撑在上部及下部分隔半体19a、19b之间,该管状部35b以与该管部件35a连通的方式鼓出形成在上部分隔半体19a与下部分隔半体19b之间,该管状部35b配置成经由两组第一连通孔组31、31…及31、31…之间,贯通上部***半体15a与下部***半体15b的接合面之间,且向外部突出。在管部件35a的一端上设置有一个或多个切口状的第三连通孔33,用于将第三排气室18与排气出口管35连通。
而且,在分隔部件19面对第一排气室16与第二排气室17的外表面以及面对第三排气室18的内表面上,承载有排气净化用催化剂37,***本体15的内面及排气出口管35的内面为排气净化用催化剂的非承载面。排气净化用催化剂37由作为氧化催化剂的Pt或Pd、以及作为还原催化剂的Rh构成。因此,排气中的HC、CO将会通过氧化催化剂进行氧化处理,而排气中的NOx将会通过还原催化剂进行还原处理。
在***罩20设有与排气出口管35的外端开口部相对置的通孔38,并且附设有横穿该通孔38的金属网制的火花消除器39。
以下说明该实施例的作用。
在发动机E的排气行程中,离开燃烧室7的废气依次经过排气口9、排气管10以及排气入口25,流入第一排气室16。此时,废气会冲撞第一扩散板26,而不会冲撞分隔部件19,即可在整个第一排气室16中扩散。其结果,废气将与承载有催化剂37的分隔部件19的面对第一排气室16的外表面充分接触,从而可有效地被净化。而且,从排气入口25流入第一排气室16的废气不会直接冲撞分隔部件19,因此分隔部件19的外表面也就不会局部过热,从而能够提高分隔部件19的耐久性。
在第一排气室16中被净化的废气,从两组第一连通孔组31、31…及31、31…转移至第二排气室17,此时,一面通过一对第二扩散板27、27扩散,一面整体地被引导至第三排气室18侧。其结果,废气在与承载有催化剂37的分隔部件19的面对第二排气室17的外表面充分接触并再次被净化之后,可以通过第二连通孔组32、32…顺利地转移至第三排气室18。并且,该废气在与承载有催化剂37的分隔部件19的面对第三排气室18的内表面接触并进一步被净化之后,从第三连通孔33经由排气出口管35向大气中排出。
这样,在废气在第一排气室16~第三排气室18顺次移动期间,在分隔部件19的外表面以及内表面上将会阶段性地受到净化作用,因此由于净化反应热所引起的排气温度上升以及分隔部件19自身的温度上升均比较小。而且,因为***本体15的内面为排气净化用催化剂的非承载面,所以能够避免***本体15过热,因此,在排气***M上,与一般的排气***一样,通过安装覆盖其外面的一层简单的***罩20,从而可避免给燃料箱T等邻接装置带来热危害。并且,由于没有使用催化剂承载专用的蜂窝体或多孔质体,所以结构极其简单且价格便宜。
另外,使第三排气室18向大气开放的排气出口管35的内面也为排气净化用催化剂的非承载面,因此可抑制通过排气出口管35的废气温度的上升,从而能够确保火花消除器39的耐久性,并且可防止因废气引起的对邻接装置的影响。
此外,按照发动机E的常用转数适当地设定排气出口管35的长度,由此可以有效地利用发动机E的排气脉动,将外部气体引入第三排气室18~第一排气室16,从而可以提高基于氧化反应的排气净化性能。
并且,废气借助于在第一排气室16~第三排气室18顺次转移时的膨胀,所引起的衰减作用得以消声。
另外,因为承载在分隔部件19的外表面及内表面上的排气净化用催化剂37几乎不会妨碍废气的流动,因此可以抑制背压的上升,尽可能防止发动机E的输出功率降低。因此,该排气***M比较适用于小排气量的通用发动机。
本发明并不限于上述实施例,只要在不脱离本发明宗旨的范围内,可进行多种设计变更。

Claims (4)

1.一种发动机用附带排气净化功能的排气***,其特征在于:通过分隔部件(19)将中空的***本体(15)内划分为第一排气室(16)和第二排气室(17),并且在该分隔部件(19)形成第三排气室(18);在***本体(15)设有排气入口(25),其用于将发动机(E)的废气导入第一排气室(16);在分隔部件(19)设有连通第一以及第二排气室(16、17)间的第一连通孔(31)、以及连通第二排气室(17)与第三排气室(18)的第二连通孔(32);第三排气室(18)通过排气出口管(35)向大气开放;在分隔部件(19)面对第一以及第二排气室(16、17)的外表面、以及面对第三排气室(18)的内表面上,承载有排气净化用催化剂(37),***本体(15)的内面为排气净化用催化剂的非承载面。
2.根据权利要求1所述的发动机用附带排气净化功能的排气***,其特征在于:在第一排气室(16)设置有第一扩散板(26),其使从排气入口(25)流入第一排气室(16)的废气扩散。
3.根据权利要求1或2所述的发动机用附带排气净化功能的排气***,其特征在于:在第二排气室(17)设置有第二扩散板(27),该第二扩散板(27)一面使从第一连通孔(31)流入第二排气室(17)的废气扩散,一面将其向第三排气室(18)侧引导。
4.根据权利要求1所述的发动机用附带排气净化功能的排气***,其特征在于:排气出口管(35)的内面为排气净化用催化剂的非承载面。
