发明领域
本发明涉及光纤连接器技术，特别是涉及一种插座如适配器之类，用于在适配器一端或两端接纳光纤连接器。
发明背景
已经采用各种各样的光纤连接器来端接光缆和有助于光缆与其他电缆或其他光纤传送装置的连接。一般的光纤连接器包括包头套圈，它将一根光纤或几根光纤安装和定中心在连接器内。金属包头可以由这样的材料如陶瓷制成。包头套圈夹持器或连接器的其他壳体部件环绕该包头套圈，它们可由模压塑料这样的材料制成。弹簧可以放置在壳体或包头套圈夹持器内，使包头套圈可屈服地向前偏置，以便与匹配连接装置中另一个安装在纤维上的包头套圈啮合。

当在光纤连接器中端接光纤对电气连接器中端接导电体时，及当露出“有源”光纤连接器的光纤端的情况时会遇到各种问题。一种典型的情况是当在适配器一端的一个光纤连接器拆下时，在适配器中留下另一个“有源”光纤连接器。
特别是，露出的光纤端可能受到有害的环境事故的伤害，灰尘的累积会削弱光纤的光传送能力。另一个重要的问题是保护操作者的眼睛免受从有源光纤露出端射出的有害光束的损害。例如操作者的眼睛可能受到从没有保护的插座或适配器射出的有害光束的伤害。
至今已经使用灰尘盖、终端帽或弹簧负荷的开闭器来关闭适配器的开口端，以便盖住露出的光纤端来保护光纤端免受有害的环境事故的影响和防止光能从光纤端射出适配器。一个这样的弹簧加载的开闭器可转动地安装适配器上邻近它的开口端并且能可转动地打开或闭合该开口端。开闭器部件当其闭合时伸展跨过连接器/适配器装置的光轴。开闭器部件可以转动离开该光轴到它的打开状态。

在示范性实施方案中，开闭器部件可转动约270度从它的闭合位置到它的打开位置。

优选实施方案的详细描述

如上所述，适配器10是双终端插座用于两对配对的光纤连接器互相连接。换句话说，如在图3-5中清楚可见，壳体12的前面34有一对前面开口端24，它们露出一对伸展通过壳体的通道36和该开口端可被开闭器部件14闭合。每个通道36有横壁18和圆筒形夹持器20，如上面关于图2所述。

Claims (9)

有前面开口端(24)和外壁(46)的壳体(12)，开口端用于沿所述光轴(22)上接纳***到其中的光纤连接器，外壁从开口端(24)向后伸展；和
可转动地安装在壳体(12)上邻近所述开口端(24)的开闭器部件(14)，它可转动地关闭和打开所述开口端，当开闭器部件闭合时该开闭器部件伸展跨过光轴(22)，并且开闭器部件可转动地离开光轴到与所述向后伸展的外壁(46)并置的位置。
