技术领域
本发明的实施方式涉及表面活性剂组合物,另外,涉及使用该表面活性剂组合物的树脂水分散体的制造方法。
背景技术
通过乳液聚合制造的树脂水分散体被用于水性涂料等各种涂布材料、粘合剂、粘接剂、纸加工用粘结剂等。乳液聚合中,作为单体的乳化剂和生成的树脂的分散剂,使用阴离子性或非离子性的表面活性剂。通常阴离子性表面活性剂的聚合稳定性优异,但是化学稳定性不充分。另一方面,非离子性表面活性剂的化学稳定性优异,但是聚合稳定性不充分。因此,在制造需要高的化学稳定性的树脂水分散体之际,使用阴离子性表面活性剂和非离子性表面活性剂的混合体系。
但是,在使用的表面活性剂为非反应性的情况下,由这些树脂水分散体得到的树脂膜存在耐水性不足的问题。作为解决该问题的方法,专利文献1、2中提出使用反应性的表面活性剂的方法,另外专利文献3中提出并用反应性的表面活性剂和丙烯酰胺系单体。但是,这些发明中在聚合稳定性和耐水性方面不让人满意。

发明内容
如上述所示,以往的表面活性剂中,同时满足聚合稳定性、化学稳定性和树脂膜的耐水性这3个特性是困难的,寻求进一步的改善。
鉴于以上问题点,本发明的实施方式的目的在于提供一种表面活性剂组合物,其可提供聚合稳定性和化学稳定性良好且树脂膜的耐水性良好的树脂水分散体。
本实施方式涉及的表面活性剂组合物含有下述通式(1)表示的表面活性剂(A)和具有与表面活性剂(A)不同的疏水基团的阴离子性表面活性剂(B)。
式(1)中,R1表示碳原子数8~14的烷基,A表示碳原子数2~4的亚烷基,n表示氧亚烷基的平均加成摩尔数且为1~100的数。
一实施方式中,阴离子性表面活性剂(B)优选具有聚合性碳-碳不饱和键。
另外,阴离子性表面活性剂(B)优选为具有选自苯乙烯化苯基、碳原子数10~18的烷基、碳原子数16~18的烯基、苯乙烯化丙烯基苯基、和烷基丙烯基苯基中至少一种疏水基团的阴离子性表面活性剂。

根据本实施方式,可得到聚合稳定性良好且化学稳定性和树脂膜的耐水性优异的树脂水分散体。

本实施方式使用的表面活性剂(A)为反应性非离子表面活性剂,为下述通式(1)表示的聚氧亚烷基-1-(烯丙基氧基甲基)烷基醚。
通式(1)中,R1表示碳原子数8~14的烷基,可以为直链状也可以为支链状。R1从聚合稳定性的观点出发,优选为碳原子数10~12的烷基。应予说明,表面活性剂(A)可以为R1的碳原子数不同的表面活性剂的混合物。
通式(1)中的A表示碳原子数2~4的亚烷基(即,烷二基),可以为直链状也可以为支链状。因此,作为AO表示的氧亚烷基,可举出氧亚乙基、氧亚丙基、氧亚丁基等。通式(1)中的(AO)n链部分是使用作为碳原子数2~4的环氧烷的环氧乙烷、环氧丙烷、环氧丁烷、四氢呋喃(1,4-环氧丁烷)等的1种或2种以上而得到的加成聚合物。氧亚烷基的加成方式没有特别限定,可以为使用1种环氧烷得到的单独加成物,也可以为使用2种以上的环氧烷得到的无规加成物、嵌段加成物、或者这些无规加成和嵌段加成的组合。
作为上述氧亚烷基,特别优选为氧亚乙基。在选择2种以上的氧亚烷基的情况下,其中1种优选为氧亚乙基。(AO)n链部分优选为含有50~100摩尔%氧亚乙基的(聚)氧亚烷基链,更优选为含有70~100摩尔%氧亚乙基的(聚)氧亚烷基链。
n表示氧亚烷基的平均加成摩尔数,为1~100的范围的数,优选为5~80,进一步优选为10~50。
通式(1)表示的表面活性剂(A)没有特别限定,可通过公知的方法合成。例如,通过使烯丙醇与α-烯烃环氧化物在氢氧化钾等碱性物质的存在下反应,得到2-羟基烷基烯丙基醚,通过利用公知的方法对得到的2-羟基烷基烯丙基醚加成规定量的环氧烷,可得到通式(1)表示的表面活性剂(A)。
[阴离子性表面活性剂(B)]
本实施方式使用的阴离子性表面活性剂(B)为具有与上述表面活性剂(A)不同的疏水基团的阴离子性表面活性剂。即,表面活性剂(B)是不具有下述式(2)表示的疏水基团,而具有其以外的疏水基团的阴离子性表面活性剂。其中,式(2)中的R1与上述式(1)中的R1相同。
如此通过使用具有与上述表面活性剂(A)不同的疏水基团的阴离子性表面活性剂(B),虽然其确切机制不清楚,但是可进行以下推测,即,在物理搅拌或单体处于水中移动等动态环境的聚合中这些表面活性剂彼此相互互补,提高乳化和分散稳定性。因此,可提供具有良好的聚合稳定性和化学稳定性,且树脂膜的耐水性优异的树脂水分散体。
作为阴离子性表面活性剂(B),例如,优选为具有选自苯乙烯化苯基、碳原子数10~18的烷基、碳原子数16~18的烯基、苯乙烯化丙烯基苯基、和烷基丙烯基苯基中至少一种疏水基团的阴离子性表面活性剂。
作为具有苯乙烯化苯基作为疏水基团的阴离子性表面活性剂,例如,可举出聚氧亚烷基苯乙烯化苯基醚的硫酸酯盐、磷酸酯盐、羧酸盐、磺基琥珀酸盐等。优选为聚氧亚烷基苯乙烯化苯基醚硫酸酯盐,更优选为聚氧亚乙基苯乙烯化苯基醚硫酸酯盐。
作为具有碳原子数10~18的烷基作为疏水基团的阴离子性表面活性剂,例如,可举出聚氧亚烷基烷基醚的硫酸酯盐、磷酸酯盐、羧酸盐、磺基琥珀酸盐等。优选为聚氧亚烷基烷基醚硫酸酯盐,更优选为聚氧亚乙基烷基醚硫酸酯盐。烷基的碳原子数更优选为12~14。
作为具有碳原子数16~18的烯基作为疏水基团的阴离子性表面活性剂,例如,可举出聚氧亚烷基烯基醚的硫酸酯盐、磷酸酯盐、羧酸盐、磺基琥珀酸盐等。优选为聚氧亚烷基烯基醚硫酸酯盐,更优选为聚氧亚乙基烯基醚硫酸酯盐。烯基的碳原子数更优选为18。
作为具有苯乙烯化丙烯基苯基作为疏水基团的阴离子性表面活性剂,例如,可举出聚氧亚烷基苯乙烯化丙烯基苯基醚的硫酸酯盐、磷酸酯盐、羧酸盐、磺基琥珀酸盐等。优选为聚氧亚烷基苯乙烯化丙烯基苯基醚硫酸酯盐,更优选为聚氧亚乙基苯乙烯化丙烯基苯基醚硫酸酯盐。
作为具有烷基丙烯基苯基作为疏水基团的阴离子性表面活性剂,例如,可举出聚氧亚烷基烷基丙烯基苯基醚的硫酸酯盐、磷酸酯盐、羧酸盐、磺基琥珀酸盐等。优选为聚氧亚烷基烷基丙烯基苯基醚硫酸酯盐,更优选为聚氧亚乙基烷基丙烯基苯基醚硫酸酯盐。此处的烷基的碳原子数优选为8~12。
对于这些阴离子性表面活性剂(B)的具体例中的聚氧亚烷基链,作为氧亚烷基,可举出碳原子数2~4的氧亚烷基,即,氧亚乙基、氧亚丙基、氧亚丁基等,优选为氧亚乙基。氧亚烷基的加成方式没有特别限定,可以为单独加成物,另外也可以为2种以上的无规加成物、嵌段加成物。氧亚烷基的平均加成摩尔数可以为1~100,可以为5~80,可以为10~50。另外,聚氧亚烷基链优选含有50~100摩尔%的氧亚乙基,更优选含有70~100摩尔%的氧亚乙基。作为构成这些阴离子性表面活性剂(B)的阴离子性亲水基团的盐,可举出碱金属盐、碱土金属盐、铵盐、烷醇胺盐(例如,乙醇胺盐)等,优选为钠盐、钾盐等碱金属盐或铵盐。
作为阴离子性表面活性剂(B),优选为具有聚合性碳-碳不饱和键,更详细而言为自由基聚合性不饱和键的阴离子性表面活性剂。通过并用具有该聚合性不饱和键的阴离子性表面活性剂(B),可进一步提高树脂膜的耐水性。作为具有聚合性碳-碳不饱和键的基团,没有特别限定,例如,可举出1-丙烯基、2-甲基-1-丙烯基、(甲基)烯丙基等。
作为阴离子性表面活性剂(B),可以使用以上列举的阴离子性表面活性剂中的任1种,也可以并用2种以上。
[表面活性剂组合物]
本实施方式的表面活性剂组合物含有表面活性剂(A)和阴离子性表面活性剂(B)。两者的比例,即,表面活性剂(A)相对于阴离子性表面活性剂(B)的比例(A/B)没有特别限定,以质量比计,优选为A/B=6/4~1/9,更优选为A/B=5/5~2/8,也可以为A/B=4/6~2/8。
本实施方式表面活性剂组合物可用于以往的使用反应性表面活性剂的用途,即,乳液聚合用乳化剂、悬浮聚合用乳化剂、树脂改性剂(防水性提高、亲水性调整、相溶性提高、抗静电性提高、防雾性提高、耐水性提高、粘接性提高、染色性提高、造膜性提高、耐候性提高、抗粘连性提高等)、纤维加工助剂等。
[树脂水分散体的制造方法]
本实施方式涉及的树脂水分散体的制造方法为,在上述表面活性剂组合物的存在下使聚合性化合物(以下称为单体)在水中聚合。聚合方法可以为乳液聚合也可以为悬浮聚合。以下,对优选的实施方式即乳液聚合详细进行说明。
作为进行乳液聚合的方法,可没有特别限定地使用公知的方法,可从基于单体的投入方法而分类的一次性聚合法、单体滴加法、乳液滴加法、种子聚合法、多阶段聚合法、动力进给聚合法等中适当选择。另外,所使用的聚合引发剂没有特别限定,例如,可使用过氧化氢、过硫酸铵、过硫酸钾、偶氮二异丁腈、过氧化苯甲酰等。作为聚合促进剂,可使用亚硫酸氢钠、硫酸亚铁铵等。另外,作为链转移剂,可以使用α-甲基苯乙烯二聚体、正丁基硫醇、叔十二烷基硫醇等硫醇类、四氯化碳、四溴化碳等卤代烃等。
可应用于乳液聚合的单体没有特别限定,能够应用于各种单体。例如,可用于(甲基)丙烯酸酯系乳液、苯乙烯系乳液、乙酸乙烯酯系乳液、卤代烯烃系乳液、SBR(苯乙烯/丁二烯)乳液、ABS(丙烯腈/丁二烯/苯乙烯)乳液、BR(丁二烯)乳液、IR(异戊二烯)乳液、NBR(丙烯腈/丁二烯)乳液等树脂水分散体的制造,也可将2种以上的单体混合进行乳液聚合。
作为构成(甲基)丙烯酸酯系乳液的单体,例如,除了(甲基)丙烯酸和/或(甲基)丙烯酸酯,还可举出(甲基)丙烯酸和/或(甲基)丙烯酸酯与其他单体(例如,苯乙烯、乙酸乙烯酯、丙烯腈、丁二烯、偏二氯乙烯、烯丙基胺、乙烯基吡啶、(甲基)丙烯酸烷基醇酰胺、N,N-二甲氨基乙基(甲基)丙烯酸酯、N,N-二乙氨基乙基乙烯基醚等)的并用。此处,(甲基)丙烯酸是指丙烯酸和/或甲基丙烯酸,(甲基)丙烯酸酯是指丙烯酸酯和/或甲基丙烯酸酯。
作为苯乙烯系乳液的单体,除了单独为苯乙烯,还可举出苯乙烯与其他单体(例如,丙烯腈、丁二烯、富马腈、马来腈、氰基丙烯酸酯、乙酸苯基乙烯酯、氯甲基苯乙烯、二氯苯乙烯、乙烯基咔唑、N,N-二苯基丙烯酰胺、甲基苯乙烯、马来酸等)的并用。
作为乙酸乙烯酯系乳液的单体,除了单独为乙酸乙烯酯,还可举出乙酸乙烯酯与其他单体(例如,苯乙烯、氯乙烯、丙烯腈、马来酸、马来酸酯、富马酸、富马酸酯、乙烯、丙烯、异丁烯、偏二氯乙烯、环戊二烯、巴豆酸、丙烯醛、烷基乙烯基醚等)的并用。
作为卤代烯烃系乳液的单体,除了氯乙烯和/或偏二氯乙烯,还可举出氯乙烯和/或偏二氯乙烯与其他单体(例如,马来酸、马来酸酯、富马酸、富马酸酯、乙酸乙烯酯、苯甲酸乙烯酯等)的并用。
本实施方式的表面活性剂组合物的使用量,以表面活性剂(A)和阴离子性表面活性剂(B)的合计量计,相对于单体100质量份优选为0.1~20质量份,更优选为0.2~10质量份,也可以为0.5~5质量份。
应予说明,出于提高乳液聚合时的聚合稳定性的目的,可并用公知的保护胶体剂。作为可并用的保护胶体剂的一例,可举出完全皂化聚乙烯醇(PVA)、部分皂化PVA、羟乙基纤维素、羧甲基纤维素、甲基纤维素、聚丙烯酸、聚乙烯吡咯烷酮等。
另外,根据需要,可以使用分子量调节剂。作为分子量调节剂,可使用正十二烷基硫醇、辛基硫醇、叔丁基硫醇、巯基乙酸、硫代苹果酸、硫代水杨酸等硫醇类,二硫化二异丙基黄原酸酯、二硫化二乙基黄原酸酯、二乙基秋兰姆二硫醚等硫醚类,碘仿等卤代烃,二苯基乙烯、对氯二苯基乙烯、对氰基二苯基乙烯、α-甲基苯乙烯二聚体等。
通过上述乳液聚合得到的树脂水分散体,按照常规方法,可用于作为涂料、粘合剂的涂膜形成或利用沉淀剂的固体聚合物的回收。即,将得到的树脂水分散体,在常温下,或者根据需要通过加热进行干燥从而得到聚合物膜。另外,作为沉淀剂添加以往使用的酸或盐,进行搅拌,使聚合物凝聚,进行过滤等,从而可进行固体聚合物的回收。
实施例
以下,通过实施例进行更详细地说明,本发明不限定于这些实施例。应予说明,下述结构式中,EO表示氧亚乙基,PO表示氧亚丙基。
[合成例]
·表面活性剂(a-1):
在具有温度计、回流管、氮导入管的反应容器中,添加烯丙醇76g(1.3摩尔)和氢氧化钾8.4g(0.15摩尔),在氮下升温至80℃。接着,滴加添加α-烯烃环氧化物(碳原子数12和碳原子数14的混合物)212g(1.0摩尔),进行5小时反应。进行减压将残存的烯丙醇馏去后,进行水洗、干燥。将得到的干燥物转移至高压釜,在氢氧化钾催化剂的存在下,以压力1.5kg/cm3、温度130℃的条件,使环氧乙烷880g(20摩尔)反应,从而得到下式表示的化合物(表面活性剂(a-1))。
·表面活性剂(a-2):
将环氧乙烷的量由880g(20摩尔)变更为440g(10摩尔),除此以外,进行与表面活性剂(a-1)同样的操作,得到下式表示的化合物(表面活性剂(a-2))。
·表面活性剂(a-3):
代替环氧乙烷880g(20摩尔),使用环氧乙烷660g(15摩尔)与环氧丙烷290g(5摩尔)的混合物,除此以外,进行与表面活性剂(a-1)同样的操作,得到下式表示的化合物(表面活性剂(a-3))。
[树脂水分散体的制备]
利用均质机将作为单体的甲基丙烯酸甲酯123.75g、丙烯酸丁酯123.75g、丙烯酸2.5g、表1记载的表面活性剂组合物7.5g和离子交换水102.5g混合,制备混合单体乳浊液。除此之外,在具有搅拌机、回流冷却器、温度计、氮导入管和滴加漏斗的反应器中,混合离子交换水122g、碳酸氢钠0.25g。向其中添加上述混合单体乳浊液中的36g,升温至80℃,搅拌15分钟。接着,添加过硫酸铵0.5g与离子交换水20g的混合物(水溶液)混合15分钟后,利用3小时,滴加剩余的混合单体乳浊液。进而混合2小时后,冷却,使用氨水调整为pH8,从而得到树脂水分散体。
表1中的b-1~6和c-1、2的表面活性剂如以下所示。
·b-1:聚氧亚乙基苯乙烯化苯基醚硫酸酯铵(商品名:HITENOL NF-13、第一工业制药株式会社生产)
·b-2:聚氧亚乙基烷基醚硫酸酯铵(烷基:碳原子数12与碳原子数14的混合物,商品名:HITENOL LA-10,第一工业制药株式会社生产)
·b-3:聚氧亚乙基油基醚硫酸酯钠与聚氧亚乙基十六烷基醚硫酸酯钠的混合物(商品名:HITENOLW-2320,第一工业制药株式会社生产)
·b-4:聚氧亚乙基苯乙烯化丙烯基苯基醚硫酸酯铵(商品名:AqualonAR-10,第一工业制药株式会社生产)
·b-5:聚氧亚乙基壬基丙烯基苯基醚硫酸酯铵(商品名:Aqualon BC-20,第一工业制药株式会社生产)
·b-6:聚氧亚乙基壬基丙烯基苯基醚硫酸酯铵(商品名:Aqualon BC-10,第一工业制药株式会社生产)
·c-1:异癸醇环氧乙烷(15摩尔)加成物
·c-2:聚氧亚乙基-1-(烯丙基氧基甲基)烷基醚硫酸酯铵(烷基:碳原子数11与碳原子数13的混合物,商品名:Aqualon KH-10,第一工业制药株式会社生产)
对于通过上述乳液聚合得到的树脂水分散体,评价聚合稳定性、化学稳定性和耐水白化性。评价方法如以下所示。
[聚合稳定性]
使树脂水分散体通过聚酯网(200目),过滤掉乳液聚合中生成的凝聚物。水洗过滤残渣后,在105℃干燥2小时,由其质量求出相对于树脂水分散体的固体成分的质量%,基于以下标准进行评价。
A:小于0.1质量%
B:0.1质量%以上且小于1.0质量%
C:1.0质量%以上
[化学稳定性]
在树脂水分散体10mL中边搅拌边添加2mol/L、4mol/L、6mol/L的氯化钙水溶液10mL,目测确认凝聚物的有无,按照下述标准进行评价。
A:即使添加6mol/L的氯化钙水溶液也没有观察到凝聚物。
B:添加6mol/L的氯化钙水溶液则观察到凝聚物。
C:添加4mol/L的氯化钙水溶液则观察到凝聚物。
D:添加2mol/L的氯化钙水溶液则观察到凝聚物。
[耐水白化性]
以干燥时的膜厚为120μm的方式将树脂水分散体涂布于玻璃板,在50℃干燥30分钟后,在20℃、65%RH的气氛下使其干燥48小时。将得到的树脂膜浸渍于25℃的纯水,在16磅的印刷文字上放置玻璃板,测定从通过树脂膜透视观察文字时直至不能看到该文字为止的天数,按照下述标准进行评价。
A:20天以上
B:10天以上且小于20天
C:小于10天

如表1所示,在阴离子性表面活性剂单独的比较例1中化学稳定性差,在式(1)的表面活性剂(A)单独的比较例2中聚合稳定性差。在使用式(1)的表面活性剂(A)和具有与该表面活性剂(A)相同的疏水基团的阴离子性表面活性剂的比较例3中,化学稳定性差,另外尽管是反应性表面活性剂彼此的组合,但是耐水白化性比实施例4~6差。另外,在并用与式(1)不同的非离子性表面活性剂与阴离子性表面活性剂的比较例4~6中,耐水白化性差。
与此相对,如果为实施例1~6,则聚合稳定性、化学稳定性和耐水白化性的三特性优异,特别是在并用反应性表面活性剂彼此的实施例4~6中,与实施例1~3相比耐水白化性进一步改善,可同时以高水平满足上述三特性。
产业上的可利用性
本实施方式的表面活性剂组合物可用于乳液聚合用乳化剂、悬浮聚合用乳化剂、树脂改性剂、纤维加工助剂等。另外,作为乳液聚合用乳化剂等使用而得到的树脂水分散体,例如,可用于水性涂料等各种涂布材料、粘合剂、粘接剂、纸加工用粘结剂等。
Claims (5)
1.一种表面活性剂组合物,含有下述通式(1)表示的表面活性剂(A)和具有与表面活性剂(A)不同的疏水基团的阴离子性表面活性剂(B),
式(1)中,R1表示碳原子数8~14的烷基,A表示碳原子数2~4的亚烷基,n表示氧亚烷基的平均加成摩尔数且为1~100的数。
2.根据权利要求1所述的表面活性剂组合物,其中,阴离子性表面活性剂(B)具有聚合性碳-碳不饱和键。
3.根据权利要求1或2所述的表面活性剂组合物,其中,阴离子性表面活性剂(B)为具有选自苯乙烯化苯基、碳原子数10~18的烷基、碳原子数16~18的烯基、苯乙烯化丙烯基苯基、和烷基丙烯基苯基中至少一种疏水基团的阴离子性表面活性剂。
4.根据权利要求1~3中任一项所述的表面活性剂组合物,其中,阴离子性表面活性剂(B)为选自聚氧亚烷基苯乙烯化苯基醚硫酸酯盐、聚氧亚烷基苯乙烯化苯基醚磷酸酯盐、聚氧亚烷基苯乙烯化苯基醚羧酸盐、聚氧亚烷基苯乙烯化苯基醚磺基琥珀酸盐、聚氧亚烷基烷基醚硫酸酯盐、聚氧亚烷基烷基醚磷酸酯盐、聚氧亚烷基烷基醚羧酸盐、聚氧亚烷基烷基醚磺基琥珀酸盐、聚氧亚烷基烯基醚硫酸酯盐、聚氧亚烷基烯基醚磷酸酯盐、聚氧亚烷基烯基醚羧酸盐、聚氧亚烷基烯基醚磺基琥珀酸盐、聚氧亚烷基苯乙烯化丙烯基苯基醚硫酸酯盐、聚氧亚烷基苯乙烯化丙烯基苯基醚磷酸酯盐、聚氧亚烷基苯乙烯化丙烯基苯基醚羧酸盐、聚氧亚烷基苯乙烯化丙烯基苯基醚磺基琥珀酸盐、聚氧亚烷基烷基丙烯基苯基醚硫酸酯盐、聚氧亚烷基烷基丙烯基苯基醚磷酸酯盐、聚氧亚烷基烷基丙烯基苯基醚羧酸盐、和聚氧亚烷基烷基丙烯基苯基醚磺基琥珀酸盐中的至少一种。
5.一种树脂水分散体的制造方法,在权利要求1~4中任一项所述的表面活性剂组合物的存在下将聚合性化合物在水中聚合。
