L'invention oonoerne une séoheuse-repasseuse qui com- porte un tambour et une cuvette chauffée entre lesquels pas- se le'linge, comme employé en blanchisserie.
Les séoheuses-repasseuses de ce genre, actuellement en usage, n'utilisent qu'une partie de la surface chauffante de la cuvette, soit la surface intérieure de oette cuvette qui se trouve en contact aveo le tambour. Il se produit ain- si forcément une déperdition de calories, une grande partie de la cuvette étant chauffée sans aucun bénéfice pour l'opé- ration de séchage du linge. En outre, dans les appareils pré- sentement connus, il se produit une forte entrée d'air frais par les perforations du tambour de cette partie de la surface

cylindrique qui ne se trouve pas en contact avec la cuvette; les perforations du tambour sont prévues pour permettre le dégagement des buées.
La présente invention a pour but de permettre une meil- leure utilisation des surfaces chauffantes de la cuvette et d'empêcher en grande partie les entrées d'air frais dans le tambour. Ces deux mesures tendent à améliorer fortement le rendement des sécheuses-repasseuses, tant au point de vue de la quantité et de la qualité du linge repassé, qu'au point de vue calorifique.
Pour permettre la meilleure utilisation des surfaces chauffantes de la cuvette, la présente Invention prévoit que la sécheuse-repasseuse est pourvue d'éléments qui permettent l'application du linge sur la surface extérieure de la cuvette ou sur une partie de cette surface non oontiguë au tambour.
Pour diminuer les entrées d'air frais dans le tambour, cet air frais distrayant une grande partie des calories pro- duites de leur usage normal, la présente invention prévoit une protection ou un recouvrement quelconque disposé sur la surface cylindrique du tambour, aux endroits où elle ne se trouve pas en contact aveo la cuvette ou sur une partie de cette surface.
La description ci-dessous d'un mode d'exécution d'une séoheuse-repasseuse selon l'invention, aveo référence au des- sin annexé, est donnée à titre d'exemple non limitatif.
Le dessin est une coupe transversale schématique d'une sécheuse-repasseuse selon l'invention.
Le linge, représenté par les traits pointillés 1, passe, dans le sens indiqué par les flèches, entre le tambour perforé 2 et la cuvette 3, chauffée à la vapeur. Le linge est amené dans la sécheuse-repasseuse, de façon connue, par un petit tapis roulant 4. En quittant les surfaces de contact du tambour

2 et de la cuvette 3, le linge 1 est forcé de se rabattre au- tour de l'extrémité arrondie 5 de la cuvette 3, par exemple par une série de bandes sans fin 6, en coton ou en autre ma- tière appropriée, qui passent autour du tambour 2 et de pou- lies de renvoi 7, tout en prenant appui sur l'extrémité ar- rondie 5 de la cuvette 3, les pièces continues 6 se trouvant donc intercalées entre le tambour 2 et le linge 1.
Le linge rabattu autour de l'extrémité arrondie 5 de la cuvette 3 s' engage entre la surface extérieure de la cuvette 3 et un ta- pis roulant 8, de matière appropriée, qui est mû et guidé par des rouleaux 9, 10 et 11. Après avoir passé ainsi le long de la surface extérieure de la cuvette 3, surface non contiguë au tambour 2, le linge 1 est rabattu autour du rouleau 10, par exemple par une tôle-guide 12, et choit sur un tapis transporteur 13, mû par les rouleaux 14 et 15, d'où il est conduit par un tapis transporteur 16, mû par les rouleaux 17 et 18, sur une table 19 où il s'étale, de façon connue.
Autour de la partie supérieure du tambour 2, c'est-à- dire autour de la surface cylindrique de ce tambour aux en- droits où l'enveloppe perforée n'est pas en contact avec la cuvette chauffée 3, est disposée une tôle de protection 20.
Cette tôle de protection empêche en grande partie les entrées d'air frais dans le tambour.
Il est évident que les éléments de protection du tam- bour et d'application du linge oontre la surface extérieure- de la cuvette peuvent varier, sans que la sécheuse-repasseuse se départisse de l'esprit de l'invention.

The invention provides a dryer-ironer which comprises a drum and a heated bowl between which the laundry passes, as a laundry worker.
Dryer-ironers of this type, currently in use, use only part of the heating surface of the bowl, that is, the inner surface of the bowl which is in contact with the drum. There is thus inevitably a loss of calories, a large part of the bowl being heated without any benefit for the operation of drying the laundry. In addition, in the presently known devices, there is a strong entry of fresh air through the perforations of the drum of this part of the surface.

The object of the present invention is to allow better use of the heating surfaces of the bowl and to largely prevent the entry of fresh air into the drum. These two measures tend to greatly improve the performance of dryer-ironers, both from the point of view of the quantity and quality of the laundry ironed, and from the calorific point of view.
To allow the best use of the heating surfaces of the bowl, the present invention provides that the dryer-ironer is provided with elements which allow the application of the laundry to the outer surface of the bowl or to a part of this surface not contiguous to the drum.
To reduce the entry of fresh air into the drum, this fresh air distracting a large part of the calories produced from their normal use, the present invention provides a protection or any covering disposed on the cylindrical surface of the drum, at the places where it is not in contact with the cuvette or on part of this surface.
The description below of an embodiment of a dryer-ironer according to the invention, with reference to the appended drawing, is given by way of non-limiting example.

The laundry, represented by the dotted lines 1, passes, in the direction indicated by the arrows, between the perforated drum 2 and the bowl 3, heated with steam. The laundry is brought into the dryer-ironer, in a known manner, by a small conveyor belt 4. Leaving the contact surfaces of the drum

2 and of the bowl 3, the laundry 1 is forced to fall back around the rounded end 5 of the bowl 3, for example by a series of endless belts 6, made of cotton or other suitable material, which pass around the drum 2 and return pulleys 7, while resting on the rounded end 5 of the bowl 3, the continuous pieces 6 therefore being interposed between the drum 2 and the laundry 1.
The linen folded around the rounded end 5 of the bowl 3 engages between the outer surface of the bowl 3 and a rolling mat 8, of suitable material, which is moved and guided by rollers 9, 10 and 11. After having thus passed along the outer surface of the bowl 3, a surface not contiguous to the drum 2, the laundry 1 is folded around the roller 10, for example by a guide plate 12, and falls on a conveyor belt 13, moved by rollers 14 and 15, from which it is driven by a conveyor belt 16, moved by rollers 17 and 18, on a table 19 where it is spread out, in a known manner.
Around the upper part of the drum 2, that is to say around the cylindrical surface of this drum at the places where the perforated casing is not in contact with the heated bowl 3, is arranged a sheet of protection 20.
This protective plate largely prevents the entry of fresh air into the drum.
It is evident that the elements for protecting the drum and applying the laundry to the exterior surface of the bowl may vary, without the dryer-ironer departing from the spirit of the invention.
