Closure device for barrels and the like.
The subject matter of the present invention is a closure device which enables cooking liquids to be transported easily and safely in barrels or the like, in spite of the gases flowing out, and without significant losses. With minor modifications, the same device can be used to allow excessive air access
EMI1.1
To prevent evaporation.
The drawing illustrates the subject matter of the invention, for example, namely Fig. 1 shows an embodiment of the closure device in longitudinal section, which is suitable for younger fermenting liquids such as vine, fruit wine and the like. Fig. La and Ib show the cross sections according to the lines AB and CD of FIG. 1, FIGS. 2, 3, 4 and 5 show those details which form the novel closure device, FIG. 6 illustrates another embodiment of the closure device in longitudinal section, which is suitable for older (longer running ) Drainage liquids are suitable, a liquid seal being used instead of the valve arranged in the first-mentioned embodiment. FIG. 7 shows the detail illustrated in FIG. 5 in longitudinal section.
The bung b to be driven into the barrel a has, as usual, a central longitudinal bore for receiving a tube c (FIG. 2), the upper end of which engages in the material of the bung b with the aid of prongs d. The lower end of the tube c protrudes from the bung b into the inside of the barrel and is provided with an external thread cl. A nut e (FIG. 3) is screwed onto this, which is provided at the lower end with an external thread cl, which is used for fastening one of the two nested ones according to the invention
Coats f, the existing housing is used for what purpose the inner, f, of these two jackets is provided with internal threads at its upper end.
The upper end of the outer casing 9 (Fig. 5) is equipped with a number of holes gl and the inner casing f at the bottom with an opening h opposite the tube c, which, according to FIG. 1, is opened by a spring i (Fig. 4) depressed valve k and, according to FIG. 6, is kept closed by a corresponding amount of oil m.
Before the bung b is driven in, the tube o is inserted into it and the nut e is screwed tight onto its lower end. If necessary, the
Valve k together with the spring i inserted into the Gehfiusemantel./* and this screwed onto the thread el so tightly that the outer jacket g on the lower surface of the bung. b is stuck and the facility forms a rigid whole. Now the bung b will be in the
Bunghole of the filled barrel driven in the usual way, which is now transportable.
The operation of the device shown in Fig. 1 is as follows.
The fermentation gases produced flow in the direction of the arrows drawn through the openings gl into the space between the shells, y and escape when the corresponding
Voltage through the valve k, which then opens automatically, and the pipe c to the outside.
In the embodiment according to FIG. 6, air flows in the sense of the arrows drawn from the outside into the barrel as soon as a negative pressure has arisen in the barrel as a result of the removal of liquid. At the moment when the pressure equalization takes place again, the automatic liquid seal comes into effect again. The required air enters the inside of the drum through the liquid immediately after opening the trigger.
The arrangement of the illustrated closure device in the interior of the barrel secures it against damage, contamination and theft. As a result of the spring-loaded valve k, it prevents unnecessary escape of gases and the liquid as well as an explosion of the barrel due to excessive gas development in the same
If the valve k is replaced by the liquid seal m, the same device is suitable for closing the outside air. A clogging of the device is avoided due to the many holes gl.
