本発明は、光学機能フィルムに関する。
近年、画像表示装置に明るさ、鮮やかさ(すなわち、広色域化)が求められており、有機EL表示装置(OLED)が注目されているが、液晶表示装置に対しても広色域化が求められている。例えば、液晶表示装置等の画像表示装置を広色域化させる方法として、特定波長の範囲に吸収極大波長を示す色補正フィルターを画像表示装置の視認側に配置する方法が提案されている(特許文献1)。しかしながら、従来の方法においては、色補正フィルターが光を吸収するために生じる輝度低下の問題、色素を含有する色補正フィルターが経時で退色してしまうという耐久性の問題等がある。
本発明は上記従来の課題を解決するためになされたものであり、その主たる目的は、画像表示装置の広色域化に寄与し得る光学機能フィルムであって、輝度低下が抑制され、かつ、耐久性に優れる光学機能フィルムを提供することにある。
本発明の光学機能フィルムは、湿度が100g/m2以下である光学機能層を備え、該光学機能層が580nm~610nmの範囲の波長帯域に吸収ピークを有し、該光学機能層が、下記一般式(I)または一般式(II)で表される化合物Xを含む。

本発明によれば、画像表示装置の広色域化に寄与し得る光学機能フィルムであって、輝度低下が抑制され、かつ、耐久性に優れる光学機能フィルムを提供することができる。
以下、本発明の好ましい実施形態について説明するが、本発明はこれらの実施形態には限定されない。
A.光学機能フィルム
図1(a)は、本発明の1つの実施形態による光学機能フィルムの概略断面図である。本実施形態の光学機能フィルム100は、光学機能層10を備える。光学機能層10は、透湿度が100g/m2以下である。上記光学機能層10は、580nm~610nmの範囲の波長帯域に吸収ピークを有する。このような光学機能層は、当該光学機能層に所定の色素を含有させることにより得ることができる。光学機能フィルムは、光学機能層の他に、任意の適切な部材を備えていてもよい。例えば、光学機能フィルムは、後述のように、粘着剤層、基材等を備え得る。
図1(a)は、本発明の1つの実施形態による光学機能フィルムの概略断面図である。本実施形態の光学機能フィルム100は、光学機能層10を備える。光学機能層10は、透湿度が100g/m2以下である。上記光学機能層10は、580nm~610nmの範囲の波長帯域に吸収ピークを有する。このような光学機能層は、当該光学機能層に所定の色素を含有させることにより得ることができる。光学機能フィルムは、光学機能層の他に、任意の適切な部材を備えていてもよい。例えば、光学機能フィルムは、後述のように、粘着剤層、基材等を備え得る。
図1(b)は、本発明の別の実施形態による光学機能フィルムの概略断面図である。本実施形態の光学機能フィルム100’は、光学機能層10の少なくとも片側に、粘着剤層20をさらに備える。図1(c)は、本発明のさらに別の実施形態による光学機能フィルムの概略断面図である。本実施形態の光学フィルム100’’は、光学機能層10の少なくとも片側に、基材30をさらに備える。代表的には、光学機能層10と基材30とは、粘着剤層20とを介して、積層される。
本発明においては、後述の特定の色素(一般式(I)または(II)で表される色素)を用い、上記光学機能層が、特定波長範囲(580nm~610nm)の光を選択的に吸収し、当該特定波長範囲以外の波長範囲における不要な吸収を抑制することにより、画像表示装置の広色域化および高輝度化に寄与し得る光学機能フィルムを得ることができる。本発明の光学機能フィルムを用いれば、高コストな技術(有機EL技術、量子ドット技術)を用いずとも、画像表示装置を顕著に広色域化することができる。また、光学機能層の透湿度を100g/m2以下とすることにより、当該光学機能層は耐久性に優れ、上記のように光吸収特性を有する光学機能層を形成するべく色素を用いても、色素の退色(分解)を抑制することができ、経時的に安定して広色域化を維持することができる。耐久性の低い上記色素を光学機能フィルムに使用可能としたことは、本発明の成果の1つである。光学機能フィルムが粘着剤層等のその他の層を備える場合においては、当該色素を、このその他の層ではなく、透湿度の低い光学機能層に含有させることにより、本発明の効果を得ることができる。
A-1.光学機能層
上記のとおり、上記光学機能層は、580nm~610nmの範囲の波長帯域に吸収ピークを有する。このような光学機能層を形成すれば、画像表示装置の広色域化および高輝度化に寄与し得る光学機能フィルムを得ることができる。なお、吸収スペクトルは、分光光度計(株式会社日立ハイテクノロジーズ製、商品名「U-4100」)により測定することができる。
上記のとおり、上記光学機能層は、580nm~610nmの範囲の波長帯域に吸収ピークを有する。このような光学機能層を形成すれば、画像表示装置の広色域化および高輝度化に寄与し得る光学機能フィルムを得ることができる。なお、吸収スペクトルは、分光光度計(株式会社日立ハイテクノロジーズ製、商品名「U-4100」)により測定することができる。
上記光学機能層の波長580nm~610nmにおける最大吸収ピークの吸光度Amaxと、波長545nmにおける吸光度A545との比(A545/Amax)が、好ましくは0.13以下であり、より好ましくは0.12以下であり、さらに好ましくは0.11以下であり、特に好ましくは0.1以下である。このように、波長545nmにおける吸光度が小さい光学機能層を形成すれば、色表現に不要な光を吸収して、画像表示装置の広色域化に寄与し得る光学機能フィルムを得ることができる。また、視感度の高い545nm付近の光源からの発光を吸収しにくいため、輝度の低下を低減することができる。
上記光学機能層において、波長580nm~610nmの範囲内にある吸収ピークの半値幅は、好ましくは35nm以下であり、より好ましくは30nm以下であり、さらに好ましくは25nm以下であり、特に好ましくは20nm以下である。このような範囲であれば、画像表示装置の広色域化に寄与し得る光学機能フィルムを得ることができる。
1つの実施形態においては、上記光学機能層は、530nm~570nmの範囲内に吸収ピークを有さない。より具体的には、上記光学機能層は、530nm~570nmの範囲内で、吸光度0.1以上の吸収ピークを有さない。このような光学機能層を形成すれば、画像表示装置の広色域化に寄与し得る光学機能フィルムを得ることができる。
1つの実施形態においては、上記光学機能層は、440nm~510nmの範囲の波長帯域に吸収ピークをさらに有する。すなわち、本実施形態においては、上記光学機能層は、440nm~510nmおよび580nm~610nmの範囲の波長帯域に吸収ピークを有する。このような構成であれば、赤色光と緑色光、および、緑色光と青色光の混色が良好に防止され得る。このように構成された光学機能フィルムを、画像表示装置に適用すれば、画像表示装置の広色域化が可能となり、明るくかつ鮮やかな画質を得ることができる。上記のように、2以上の吸収ピークを有する光学機能層は、複数種の色素を用いることにより得ることができる。
光学機能層の吸収ピークでの透過率は、好ましくは0%~80%であり、より好ましくは0%~70%である。このような範囲であれば、本発明の上記効果はより顕著となる。
上記光学機能層の可視光透過率は、好ましくは30%~90%であり、より好ましくは30%~80%である。このような範囲であれば、輝度低下を抑制しつつ、画像表示装置を広色域化し得る光学機能フィルムを得ることができる。
上記のとおり、上記光学機能層の透湿度は100g/m2以下である。光学機能層の透湿度は、好ましくは90g/m2以下であり、より好ましくは80g/m2以下であり、さらに好ましくは70g/m2以下である。光学機能層の透湿度は低いほど好ましいが、その下限は、例えば、0.5g/m2である。なお、本明細書において「透湿度」とは、JIS Z0208の透湿度試験(カップ法)に準拠して、温度40℃、湿度92%RHの雰囲気中、面積1m2の試料を24時間に通過する水蒸気量(g)を測定した値である。
光学機能層の厚みは、通常、0.1μm~100μmであり、好ましくは1μm~100μmであり、より好ましくは2μm~50μmであり、さらに好ましくは5μm~35μmである。
上記光学機能層は、樹脂と色素とを含有する樹脂組成物から形成することができる。
(樹脂)
上記光学機能層を構成する樹脂としては、透湿度が100g/m2以下の光学機能層を形成し得る限りにおいて、任意の適切な樹脂が用いられる。光学機能層を形成する樹脂としては、例えば、(メタ)アクリル系樹脂、ノルボルネン系樹脂等のシクロオレフィン系樹脂、ポリエチレン、ポリプロピレン等のオレフィン系樹脂、ポリエチレンテレフタレート(PET)等のポリエステル系樹脂等が用いられる。これらは、上記透湿度を満足し得るからである。好ましくは、(メタ)アクリル系樹脂またはシクロオレフィン系樹脂が用いられる。なお、「(メタ)アクリル系樹脂」とは、アクリル系樹脂および/またはメタクリル系樹脂をいう。
上記光学機能層を構成する樹脂としては、透湿度が100g/m2以下の光学機能層を形成し得る限りにおいて、任意の適切な樹脂が用いられる。光学機能層を形成する樹脂としては、例えば、(メタ)アクリル系樹脂、ノルボルネン系樹脂等のシクロオレフィン系樹脂、ポリエチレン、ポリプロピレン等のオレフィン系樹脂、ポリエチレンテレフタレート(PET)等のポリエステル系樹脂等が用いられる。これらは、上記透湿度を満足し得るからである。好ましくは、(メタ)アクリル系樹脂またはシクロオレフィン系樹脂が用いられる。なお、「(メタ)アクリル系樹脂」とは、アクリル系樹脂および/またはメタクリル系樹脂をいう。
上記(メタ)アクリル系樹脂としては、任意の適切な(メタ)アクリル系樹脂が用いられる。例えば、ポリメタクリル酸メチルなどのポリ(メタ)アクリル酸エステル、メタクリル酸メチル-(メタ)アクリル酸共重合体、メタクリル酸メチル-(メタ)アクリル酸エステル共重合体、メタクリル酸メチル-アクリル酸エステル-(メタ)アクリル酸共重合体、(メタ)アクリル酸メチル-スチレン共重合体(MS樹脂など)、脂環族炭化水素基を有する重合体(例えば、メタクリル酸メチル-メタクリル酸シクロヘキシル共重合体、メタクリル酸メチル-(メタ)アクリル酸ノルボルニル共重合体など)が挙げられる。好ましくは、ポリ(メタ)アクリル酸メチルなどのポリ(メタ)アクリル酸C1-6アルキルが挙げられる。より好ましくは、メタクリル酸メチルを主成分(50~100重量%、好ましくは70~100重量%)とするメタクリル酸メチル系樹脂が挙げられる。
上記(メタ)アクリル系樹脂の具体例としては、例えば、三菱レイヨン社製のアクリペットVHやアクリペットVRL20A、分子内架橋や分子内環化反応により得られる高Tg(メタ)アクリル系樹脂が挙げられる。
1つの実施形態においては、高い耐熱性、高い透明性、高い機械的強度を有する点で、上記(メタ)アクリル系樹脂として、グルタル酸無水物構造を有する(メタ)アクリル系樹脂、ラクトン環構造を有する(メタ)アクリル系樹脂、グルタルイミド構造を有する(メタ)アクリル系樹脂が好ましい。
グルタル酸無水物構造を有する(メタ)アクリル系樹脂としては、特開2006-283013号公報、特開2006-335902号公報、特開2006-274118号公報などに記載の、グルタル酸無水物構造を有する(メタ)アクリル系樹脂が挙げられる。
ラクトン環構造を有する(メタ)アクリル系樹脂としては、特開2000-230016号公報、特開2001-151814号公報、特開2002-120326号公報、特開2002-254544号公報、特開2005-146084号公報などに記載の、ラクトン環構造を有する(メタ)アクリル系樹脂が挙げられる。
グルタルイミド構造を有する(メタ)アクリル系樹脂としては、特開2006-309033号公報、特開2006-317560号公報、特開2006-328329号公報、特開2006-328334号公報、特開2006-337491号公報、特開2006-337492号公報、特開2006-337493号公報、特開2006-337569号公報、特開2007-009182号公報などに記載の、グルタルイミド構造を有する(メタ)アクリル系樹脂が挙げられる。
上記シクロオレフィン系樹脂としては、例えば、ノルボルネン系樹脂が挙げられる。ノルボルネン系樹脂とは、出発原料(モノマー)の一部または全部に、ノルボルネン環を有するノルボルネン系モノマーを用いて得られる(共)重合体をいう。当該ノルボルネン系モノマーとしては、例えば、ノルボルネン、およびそのアルキルおよび/またはアルキリデン置換体、例えば、5-メチル-2-ノルボルネン、5-ジメチル-2-ノルボルネン、5-エチル-2-ノルボルネン、5-ブチル-2-ノルボルネン、5-エチリデン-2-ノルボルネン等、これらのハロゲン等の極性基置換体;ジシクロペンタジエン、2,3-ジヒドロジシクロペンタジエン等;ジメタノオクタヒドロナフタレン、そのアルキルおよび/またはアルキリデン置換体、およびハロゲン等の極性基置換体、例えば、6-メチル-1,4:5,8-ジメタノ-1,4,4a,5,6,7,8,8a-オクタヒドロナフタレン、6-エチル-1,4:5,8-ジメタノ-1,4,4a,5,6,7,8,8a-オクタヒドロナフタレン、6-エチリデン-1,4:5,8-ジメタノ-1,4,4a,5,6,7,8,8a-オクタヒドロナフタレン、6-クロロ-1,4:5,8-ジメタノ-1,4,4a,5,6,7,8,8a-オクタヒドロナフタレン、6-シアノ-1,4:5,8-ジメタノ-1,4,4a,5,6,7,8,8a-オクタヒドロナフタレン、6-ピリジル-1,4:5,8-ジメタノ-1,4,4a,5,6,7,8,8a-オクタヒドロナフタレン、6-メトキシカルボニル-1,4:5,8-ジメタノ-1,4,4a,5,6,7,8,8a-オクタヒドロナフタレン等;シクロペンタジエンの3~4量体、例えば、4,9:5,8-ジメタノ-3a,4,4a,5,8,8a,9,9a-オクタヒドロ-1H-ベンゾインデン、4,11:5,10:6,9-トリメタノ-3a,4,4a,5,5a,6,9,9a,10,10a,11,11a-ドデカヒドロ-1H-シクロペンタアントラセン等が挙げられる。
上記ノルボルネン系樹脂としては、種々の製品が市販されている。具体例としては、日本ゼオン社製の商品名「ゼオネックス」、「ゼオノア」、JSR社製の商品名「アートン(Arton)」、TICONA社製の商品名「トーパス」、三井化学社製の商品名「APEL」が挙げられる。
光学機能層は、添加剤を含有していてもよい。添加剤としては、例えば、ヒンダードフェノール系、リン系、イオウ系等の酸化防止剤;耐光安定剤、耐候安定剤、熱安定剤等の安定剤;ガラス繊維、炭素繊維等の補強材;近赤外線吸収剤;トリス(ジブロモプロピル)ホスフェート、トリアリルホスフェート、酸化アンチモン等の難燃剤;アニオン系、カチオン系、ノニオン系の界面活性剤等の帯電防止剤;無機顔料、有機顔料、染料等の着色剤;有機フィラーや無機フィラー;樹脂改質剤;有機充填剤や無機充填剤;可塑剤;滑剤;帯電防止剤;難燃剤;位相差低減剤等が挙げられる。
光学機能層の製造方法としては、特に限定されるものではないが、例えば、樹脂と、その他の重合体や添加剤等を、任意の適切な混合方法で充分に混合し、予め熱可塑性樹脂組成物としてから、これをフィルム成形することができる。あるいは、樹脂と、その他の重合体や添加剤等を、それぞれ別々の溶液にしてから混合して均一な混合液とした後、フィルム成形してもよい。
上記熱可塑性樹脂組成物を製造するには、例えば、オムニミキサー等、任意の適切な混合機で上記のフィルム原料をプレブレンドした後、得られた混合物を押出混練する。この場合、押出混練に用いられる混合機は、特に限定されるものではなく、例えば、単軸押出機、二軸押出機等の押出機や加圧ニーダー等、任意の適切な混合機を用いることができる。
上記フィルム成形の方法としては、例えば、溶液キャスト法(溶液流延法)、溶融押出法、カレンダー法、圧縮成形法等、任意の適切なフィルム成形法が挙げられる。これらのフィルム成形法のうち、溶液キャスト法(溶液流延法)、溶融押出法が好ましい。
上記溶液キャスト法(溶液流延法)に用いられる溶媒としては、例えば、ベンゼン、トルエン、キシレン等の芳香族炭化水素類;シクロヘキサン、デカリン等の脂肪族炭化水素類;酢酸エチル、酢酸ブチル等のエステル類;アセトン、メチルエチエルケトン、メチルイソブチルケトン等のケトン類;メタノール、エタノール、イソプロパノール、ブタノール、イソブタノール、メチルセロソルブ、エチルセロソルブ、ブチルセロソルブ等のアルコール類;テトラヒドロフラン、ジオキサン等のエーテル類;ジクロロメタン、クロロホルム、四塩化炭素等のハロゲン化炭化水素類;ジメチルホルムアミド;ジメチルスルホキシド等が挙げられる。これらの溶媒は、単独で用いても2種以上を併用してもよい。
上記溶液キャスト法(溶液流延法)を行うための装置としては、例えば、ドラム式キャスティングマシン、バンド式キャスティングマシン、スピンコーター等が挙げられる。
上記溶融押出法としては、例えば、Tダイ法、インフレーション法等が挙げられる。成形温度は、好ましくは150~350℃、より好ましくは200~300℃である。
上記Tダイ法でフィルム成形する場合は、公知の単軸押出機や二軸押出機の先端部にTダイを取り付け、フィルム状に押出されたフィルムを巻取って、ロール状のフィルムを得ることができる。この際、巻取りロールの温度を適宜調整して、押出方向に延伸を加えることで、1軸延伸することも可能である。また、押出方向と垂直な方向にフィルムを延伸することにより、同時2軸延伸、逐次2軸延伸等を行うこともできる。
(色素)
上記光学機能層は、1種以上の色素を含む。

R6とR7とが5~7の炭素原子から構成される飽和環状骨格を形成し、R1、R2、R3、R4、R5およびR8はそれぞれ独立して水素原子、ハロゲン原子(好ましくはCl)、炭素数1以上20以下の置換もしくは非置換のアルキル基、式(a)で表される置換基または式(b)で表される置換基であるか;

式(II)において、R4、およびR8はそれぞれ独立して水素原子または炭素数1以上20以下の置換もしくは非置換のアルキル基である。
R1とR2を含んで形成される上記飽和環状骨格(炭素数:5または6)およびR5とR6を含んで形成される上記飽和環状骨格(炭素数:5または6)は、置換基を有していてもよい。当該置換基としては、例えば、炭素数1~4のアルキル基が挙げられる。また、R2とR3を含んで形成される上記飽和環状骨格(炭素数:5~7)およびR6とR7を含んで形成される上記飽和環状骨格(炭素数:5~7)は、置換基を有していてもよい。当該置換基としては、例えば、炭素数1~4のアルキル基が挙げられる。
1つの実施形態においては、R4および/またはR8は、置換基としてベンゼン環またはナフタレン環を有する。
上記式(I)または(II)で表される具体的な化合物Xとしては、例えば、下記一般式(I-1)~(I-27)または(II-1)で表される化合物が挙げられる。(I-1)~(I-23)については、脂肪族ポリカーボネートに化合物Xを混合して調製された樹脂組成物からなるフィルムの吸光度を測定して得られた吸収ピークが示され、(I-24)~(I-27)および(II-1)については、ポリメタクリル酸メチル樹脂に化合物Xを混合して調製された樹脂組成物からなるフィルムの吸光度を測定して得られた吸収ピークが示されている。
上記化合物Xの含有量は、上記ベースポリマー100重量部に対して、好ましくは、0.01重量部~50重量部であり、より好ましくは0.05重量部~10重量部であり、さらに好ましくは0.1重量部~5重量部であり、特に好ましくは0.1重量部~1重量部である。
上記化合物Xは、水分、酸素等の影響を受けて変質しやすい(退色しやすい)という特徴を有し、通常、光学部材の添加物として用い難い化合物であるが、本発明によれば、化合物Xを含む光学機能層を形成しても、当該光学機能層の経時的な劣化を防止することができる。
上記光学機能層は、440nm~510nmの範囲の波長帯域に吸収ピークを有する化合物をさらに含んでいてもよい。このような化合物としては、例えば、アントラキノン系、オキシム系、ナフトキノン系、キニザリン系、オキソノール系、アゾ系、キサンテン系またはフタロシアニン系の化合物(染料)が用いられる。
440nm~510nmの範囲の波長帯域に吸収ピークを有する化合物の含有量は、上記ベースポリマー100重量部に対して、好ましくは0.01重量部~50重量部であり、より好ましくは0.01重量部~25重量部である。
A-2.粘着剤層
粘着剤層は任意の適切な粘着剤により構成される。粘着剤は、好ましくは、透明性および光学的等方性を有する。粘着剤の具体例としては、ゴム系粘着剤、アクリル系粘着剤、シリコーン系粘着剤、エポキシ系粘着剤、セルロース系粘着剤が挙げられる。好ましくは、ゴム系粘着剤またはアクリル系粘着剤である。
粘着剤層は任意の適切な粘着剤により構成される。粘着剤は、好ましくは、透明性および光学的等方性を有する。粘着剤の具体例としては、ゴム系粘着剤、アクリル系粘着剤、シリコーン系粘着剤、エポキシ系粘着剤、セルロース系粘着剤が挙げられる。好ましくは、ゴム系粘着剤またはアクリル系粘着剤である。
ゴム系粘着剤のゴム系ポリマーは、室温付近の温度域においてゴム弾性を示すポリマーである。好ましいゴム系ポリマー(A)としては、スチレン系熱可塑性エラストマー(A1)、イソブチレン系ポリマー(A2)、およびその組み合わせが挙げられる。
スチレン系熱可塑性エラストマー(A1)としては、例えば、スチレン-エチレン-ブチレン-スチレンブロック共重合体(SEBS)、スチレン-イソプレン-スチレンブロック共重合体(SIS)、スチレン-ブタジエン-スチレンブロック共重合体(SBS)、スチレン-エチレン-プロピレン-スチレンブロック共重合体(SEPS、SISの水添物)、スチレン-エチレン-プロピレンブロック共重合体(SEP、スチレン-イソプレンブロック共重合体の水添物)、スチレン-イソブチレン-スチレンブロック共重合体(SIBS)、スチレン-ブタジエンゴム(SBR)等のスチレン系ブロックコポリマーを挙げることができる。これらの中でも、分子の両末端にポリスチレンブロックを有し、ポリマーとして高い凝集力を有する点から、スチレン-エチレン-プロピレン-スチレンブロック共重合体(SEPS、SISの水添物)、スチレン-エチレン-ブチレン-スチレンブロック共重合体(SEBS)、スチレン-イソブチレン-スチレンブロック共重合体(SIBS)が好ましい。スチレン系熱可塑性エラストマー(A1)として市販品を用いてもよい。市販品の具体例としては、クラレ社製のSEPTON、HYBRAR、旭化成ケミカルズ社製のタフテック、カネカ社製のSIBSTARが挙げられる。
スチレン系熱可塑性エラストマー(A1)の重量平均分子量は、好ましくは5万~50万程度であり、より好ましくは5万~30万程度であり、さらに好ましくは5万~25万程度である。スチレン系熱可塑性エラストマー(A1)の重量平均分子量がこのような範囲であれば、ポリマーの凝集力と粘弾性を両立できるため好ましい。
スチレン系熱可塑性エラストマー(A1)中のスチレン含有量は、好ましくは5重量%~70重量%程度であり、より好ましくは5重量%~40重量%程度であり、さらに好ましくは10重量%~20重量%程度である。スチレン系熱可塑性エラストマー(A1)中のスチレン含有量がこのような範囲であれば、スチレン部位による凝集力を保ちながら、ソフトセグメントによる粘弾性を確保できるため好ましい。
イソブチレン系ポリマー(A2)としては、イソブチレンを構成単量体として含み、重量平均分子量(Mw)が好ましくは50万以上であるものを挙げることができる。イソブチレン系ポリマー(A2)は、イソブチレンのホモポリマー(ポリイソブチレン、PIB)であってもよく、イソブチレンを主モノマーとするコポリマー(すなわち、イソブチレンが50モル%を超える割合で共重合されたコポリマー)であってもよい。このようなコポリマーとしては、例えば、イソブチレンとノルマルブチレンとの共重合体、イソブチレンとイソプレンとの共重合体(例えば、レギュラーブチルゴム、塩素化ブチルゴム、臭素化ブチルゴム、部分架橋ブチルゴム等のブチルゴム類)、これらの加硫物や変性物(例えば、水酸基、カルボキシル基、アミノ基、エポキシ基等の官能基で変性したもの)等を挙げることができる。これらの中でも、主鎖の中に二重結合を含まず耐候性に優れる点から、ポリイソブチレン(PIB)が好ましい。イソブチレン系ポリマー(A2)として市販品を用いてもよい。市販品の具体例としては、BASF社製のOPPANOLが挙げられる。
イソブチレン系ポリマー(A2)の重量平均分子量(Mw)は、好ましくは50万以上であり、より好ましくは60万以上であり、さらに好ましくは70万以上である。また、重量平均分子量(Mw)の上限は、好ましくは500万以下であり、より好ましくは300万以下であり、さらに好ましくは200万以下である。イソブチレン系ポリマー(A2)の重量平均分子量を50万以上とすることで、高温保管時の耐久性がより優れる粘着剤とすることができる。
粘着剤におけるゴム系ポリマー(A)の含有量は、粘着剤の全固形分中、好ましくは30重量%以上であり、より好ましくは40重量%以上であり、さらに好ましくは50重量%以上であり、特に好ましくは60重量%以上である。ゴム系ポリマーの含有量の上限は、好ましくは95重量%以下であり、より好ましくは90重量%以下である。
ゴム系粘着剤において上記のゴム系ポリマー(A)と他のゴム系ポリマーとを組み合わせて用いてもよい。他のゴム系ポリマーの具体例としては、ブチルゴム(IIR)、ブタジエンゴム(BR)、アクリロニトリル-ブタジエンゴム(NBR)、EPR(二元系エチレン-プロピレンゴム)、EPT(三元系エチレン-プロピレンゴム)、アクリルゴム、ウレタンゴム、ポリウレタン系熱可塑性エラストマー;ポリエステル系熱可塑性エラストマー;ポリプロピレンとEPT(三元系エチレン-プロピレンゴム)とのポリマーブレンド等のブレンド系熱可塑性エラストマーが挙げられる。他のゴム系ポリマーの配合量は、上記ゴム系ポリマー(A)100重量部に対して好ましくは10重量部程度以下である。
アクリル系粘着剤のアクリル系ポリマーは、代表的には、アルキル(メタ)アクリレートを主成分として含有し、目的に応じた共重合成分として、芳香環含有(メタ)アクリレート、アミド基含有モノマー、カルボキシル基含有モノマーおよび/またはヒドロキシル基含有モノマーを含有し得る。本明細書において「(メタ)アクリレート」とは、アクリレートおよび/またはメタクリレートを意味する。アルキル(メタ)アクリレートとしては、直鎖状または分岐鎖状のアルキル基の炭素数1~18のものを例示できる。芳香環含有(メタ)アクリレートは、その構造中に芳香環構造を含み、かつ(メタ)アクリロイル基を含む化合物である。芳香環としては、ベンゼン環、ナフタレン環、またはビフェニル環が挙げられる。芳香環含有(メタ)アクリレートは、耐久性を満足し、かつ周辺部の白ヌケによる表示ムラを改善することができる。アミド基含有モノマーは、その構造中にアミド基を含み、かつ(メタ)アクリロイル基、ビニル基等の重合性不飽和二重結合を含む化合物である。カルボキシル基含有モノマーは、その構造中にカルボキシル基を含み、かつ(メタ)アクリロイル基、ビニル基等の重合性不飽和二重結合を含む化合物である。ヒドロキシル基含有モノマーは、その構造中にヒドロキシル基を含み、かつ(メタ)アクリロイル基、ビニル基等の重合性不飽和二重結合を含む化合物である。アクリル系粘着剤の詳細は、例えば特開2015-199942号公報に記載されており、当該公報の記載は本明細書に参考として援用される。
A-3.基材
基材としては、光学機能フィルムが使用に供されるまでの間、粘着剤層を保護するために配置されるセパレータ;ガラスフィルム;位相差フィルム、偏光板等の光学フィルム等が挙げられる。

1つの実施形態においては、基材として、ガラスフィルムが用いられる。
上記ガラスフィルムは、任意の適切なものが採用され得る。上記ガラスフィルムは、組成による分類によれば、例えば、ソーダ石灰ガラス、ホウ酸ガラス、アルミノ珪酸ガラス、石英ガラス等が挙げられる。また、アルカリ成分による分類によれば、無アルカリガラス、低アルカリガラスが挙げられる。上記ガラスのアルカリ金属成分(例えば、Na2O、K2O、Li2O)の含有量は、好ましくは15重量%以下であり、さらに好ましくは10重量%以下である。
上記ガラスフィルムの厚みは100μm以下であり、好ましくは80μm以下であり、より好ましくは50μm以下であり、さらに好ましくは40μm以下であり、特に好ましくは35μm以下である。上記ガラスフィルムの厚みの下限は、好ましくは5μm以上である。
上記ガラスフィルムの波長550nmにおける光透過率は、好ましくは85%以上である。上記ガラスフィルムの波長550nmにおける屈折率は、好ましくは1.4~1.65である。
上記ガラスフィルムの密度は、好ましくは2.3g/cm3~3.0g/cm3であり、さらに好ましくは2.3g/cm3~2.7g/cm3である。上記範囲のガラスフィルムであれば、光学機能フィルムを得ることができる。
上記ガラスフィルムの成形方法は、任意の適切な方法が採用され得る。代表的には、上記ガラスフィルムは、シリカやアルミナ等の主原料と、芒硝や酸化アンチモン等の消泡剤と、カーボン等の還元剤とを含む混合物を、1400℃~1600℃の温度で溶融し、薄板状に成形した後、冷却して作製される。上記ガラスフィルムの成形方法としては、例えば、スロットダウンドロー法、フュージョン法、フロート法等が挙げられる。これらの方法によって板状に成形されたガラスフィルムは、薄板化したり、平滑性を高めたりするために、必要に応じて、フッ酸等の溶剤により化学研磨されてもよい。
上記ガラスフィルムは、市販のものをそのまま用いてもよく、あるいは、市販のガラスフィルムを所望の厚みになるように研磨して用いてもよい。市販のガラスフィルムとしては、例えば、コーニング社製「7059」、「1737」または「EAGLE2000」、旭硝子社製「AN100」、NHテクノグラス社製「NA-35」、日本電気硝子社製「OA-10」、ショット社製「D263」または「AF45」等が挙げられる。
上記基材の酸素透過度は、好ましくは1[cm3/(m2・24h・atm)]以下であり、より好ましくは0.8[cm3/(m2・24h・atm)]以下であり、さらに好ましくは0.6[cm3/(m2・24h・atm)]以下であり、特に好ましくは0.5[cm3/(m2・24h・atm)]以下である。このような範囲であれば、光学機能層の耐久性に優れる光学機能フィルムを得ることができる。上記酸素透過度は、基材を構成する材料、基材の厚み等により調整することができる。なお、酸素透過度は、23℃、0%RHの条件下にて、JISK7126-2に準じて測定することができる。
B.画像表示装置
本発明の画像表示装置は、画像表示パネルと、上記光学機能フィルムとを備える。画像表示パネルとしては、例えば、液晶表示パネル、有機ELパネル等が挙げられる。光学機能フィルムは、画像表示パネルの視認側に配置され得る。

以下、実施例によって本発明を具体的に説明するが、本発明はこれら実施例によって限定されるものではない。なお、各特性の測定方法は以下の通りである。
(1)透湿度
色素を含有する層の透湿度を、JIS Z 0208(カップ法)に準じて測定した。
(2)透過率、透過率変化
光学機能フィルムの透過率を、JIS 7136で定める方法により、ヘイズメーター(村上色彩科学研究所社製、商品名「HM-150」)を用いて測定した。
光学機能フィルムを80℃の環境下において144時間放置する加熱処理を行い、加熱処理後の光学機能フィルムの透過率と、製造直後の光学機能フィルムの初期透過率とから、{(加熱処理後の透過率-初期透過率)/初期透過率}×100の式により透過率変化を求めた。
色素を含有する層の透湿度を、JIS Z 0208(カップ法)に準じて測定した。
(2)透過率、透過率変化
光学機能フィルムの透過率を、JIS 7136で定める方法により、ヘイズメーター(村上色彩科学研究所社製、商品名「HM-150」)を用いて測定した。

[実施例1]
旭化成ケミカル社製の商品名「デルペット」を塩化メチレンにて溶解し、固形分濃度25%のアクリル樹脂溶液を作製した。このアクリル樹脂100重量部に対し、上記一般式(I-20)で表されるスクアライン化合物0.1重量部を含む樹脂組成物を混合し液を調製した。この樹脂組成物を厚さ80μmのトリアセチルセルロース基材に塗工し、厚さ7μmの光学機能層(吸収極大波長:588nm)を得た。
次に、冷却管、窒素導入管、温度計および撹拌装置を備えた反応容器にアクリル酸ブチル100重量部、アクリル酸2-ヒドロキシエチル0.01重量部、およびアクリル酸5重量部を含有するモノマー混合物を仕込んだ。さらに、前記モノマー混合物100重量部に対して、重合開始剤として2,2’-アゾビスイソブチロニトリル0.1重量部を酢酸エチル100重量部と共に仕込み、緩やかに攪拌しながら窒素ガスを導入して窒素置換した後、フラスコ内の液温を55℃付近に保って8時間重合反応を行って、重量平均分子量(Mw)180万、Mw/Mn=4.1のアクリル系ポリマーの溶液(固形分濃度30重量%)を調製した。
上記で製造したアクリル系ポリマー溶液の固形分100重量部に対して、ラジカル発生剤(ベンゾイルパーオキサイド,日本油脂社製の商品名ナイパーBMT)0.23重量部、イソシアネート系架橋剤(東ソー社製の商品名コロネートL)1重量部を含む粘着剤組成物を調製した。この粘着剤組成物をセパレータに塗工して、厚さ20μmの粘着剤層を形成し、上記光学機能層に貼り合わせた。最後に、トリアセチルセルロース基材を剥離して、光学機能フィルムを得た。
なお、一般式(I-20)で表されるスクアライン化合物は、以下の方法で合成した。
<スクアライン化合物の合成>
1-フェニル-1,4,5,6-テトラヒドロシクロペンタ[b]ピロールを” M. Beller et. al., J. Am. Chem. Soc., 2013, 135(30), 11384-11388)”に記載される方法で合成した。
エタノール5mL中で、1-フェニル-1,4,5,6-テトラヒドロシクロペンタ[b]ピロール300mgと、スクアリン酸80mgとを混合し、80℃で2時間攪拌した。その後、室温まで冷却し、生成物をろ取した。ろ取した生成物をエタノールで洗浄し、70℃で減圧乾燥して、197mgのスクアライン化合物を得た。さらに、シリカゲルクロマトグラフィーにて精製して、120mgのスクアライン化合物を得た。
上記のようにして得られた光学機能フィルム(光学機能層/粘着剤層)を上記評価に供した結果を表1に示す。
旭化成ケミカル社製の商品名「デルペット」を塩化メチレンにて溶解し、固形分濃度25%のアクリル樹脂溶液を作製した。このアクリル樹脂100重量部に対し、上記一般式(I-20)で表されるスクアライン化合物0.1重量部を含む樹脂組成物を混合し液を調製した。この樹脂組成物を厚さ80μmのトリアセチルセルロース基材に塗工し、厚さ7μmの光学機能層(吸収極大波長:588nm)を得た。
次に、冷却管、窒素導入管、温度計および撹拌装置を備えた反応容器にアクリル酸ブチル100重量部、アクリル酸2-ヒドロキシエチル0.01重量部、およびアクリル酸5重量部を含有するモノマー混合物を仕込んだ。さらに、前記モノマー混合物100重量部に対して、重合開始剤として2,2’-アゾビスイソブチロニトリル0.1重量部を酢酸エチル100重量部と共に仕込み、緩やかに攪拌しながら窒素ガスを導入して窒素置換した後、フラスコ内の液温を55℃付近に保って8時間重合反応を行って、重量平均分子量(Mw)180万、Mw/Mn=4.1のアクリル系ポリマーの溶液(固形分濃度30重量%)を調製した。
上記で製造したアクリル系ポリマー溶液の固形分100重量部に対して、ラジカル発生剤(ベンゾイルパーオキサイド,日本油脂社製の商品名ナイパーBMT)0.23重量部、イソシアネート系架橋剤(東ソー社製の商品名コロネートL)1重量部を含む粘着剤組成物を調製した。この粘着剤組成物をセパレータに塗工して、厚さ20μmの粘着剤層を形成し、上記光学機能層に貼り合わせた。最後に、トリアセチルセルロース基材を剥離して、光学機能フィルムを得た。
なお、一般式(I-20)で表されるスクアライン化合物は、以下の方法で合成した。
<スクアライン化合物の合成>
1-フェニル-1,4,5,6-テトラヒドロシクロペンタ[b]ピロールを” M. Beller et. al., J. Am. Chem. Soc., 2013, 135(30), 11384-11388)”に記載される方法で合成した。
エタノール5mL中で、1-フェニル-1,4,5,6-テトラヒドロシクロペンタ[b]ピロール300mgと、スクアリン酸80mgとを混合し、80℃で2時間攪拌した。その後、室温まで冷却し、生成物をろ取した。ろ取した生成物をエタノールで洗浄し、70℃で減圧乾燥して、197mgのスクアライン化合物を得た。さらに、シリカゲルクロマトグラフィーにて精製して、120mgのスクアライン化合物を得た。
上記のようにして得られた光学機能フィルム(光学機能層/粘着剤層)を上記評価に供した結果を表1に示す。
[実施例2]
シクロオレフィン系樹脂(JSR社製、商品名「ARTON F4520」)をトルエンに溶かし、固形分25%の溶液を得た。該溶液の樹脂固形分100重量部に対して上記一般式(I-20)で表されるスクアライン化合物0.2重量部を含む樹脂組成物を調製した。この樹脂組成物を用いて光学機能層を形成したこと以外は実施例1と同様にしてフィルムを作製した。
上記のようにして得られた光学機能フィルム(光学機能層/粘着剤層)を上記評価に供した結果を表1に示す。
シクロオレフィン系樹脂(JSR社製、商品名「ARTON F4520」)をトルエンに溶かし、固形分25%の溶液を得た。該溶液の樹脂固形分100重量部に対して上記一般式(I-20)で表されるスクアライン化合物0.2重量部を含む樹脂組成物を調製した。この樹脂組成物を用いて光学機能層を形成したこと以外は実施例1と同様にしてフィルムを作製した。
上記のようにして得られた光学機能フィルム(光学機能層/粘着剤層)を上記評価に供した結果を表1に示す。
[比較例1]
旭化成ケミカル(株)社製の商品名デルペットを単軸押出機に投入して溶融混合し、Tダイを通してフィルム形成した。得られた押出フィルムを、延伸温度240℃で長さ方向および幅方向にそれぞれ2倍(面倍率4.0)に同時二軸延伸して厚さ40μmのアクリル樹脂フィルムを得た。
次に、冷却管、窒素導入管、温度計および撹拌装置を備えた反応容器にアクリル酸ブチル100重量部、アクリル酸2-ヒドロキシエチル0.01重量部、およびアクリル酸5重量部を含有するモノマー混合物を仕込んだ。さらに、前記モノマー混合物100重量部に対して、重合開始剤として2,2’-アゾビスイソブチロニトリル0.1重量部を酢酸エチル100重量部と共に仕込み、緩やかに攪拌しながら窒素ガスを導入して窒素置換した後、フラスコ内の液温を55℃付近に保って8時間重合反応を行って、重量平均分子量(Mw)180万、Mw/Mn=4.1のアクリル系ポリマーの溶液(固形分濃度30重量%)を調製した。
上記で製造したアクリル系ポリマー溶液の固形分100重量部に対して、上記一般式(I-20)で表されるスクアライン化合物0.1重量部、ラジカル発生剤(ベンゾイルパーオキサイド,日本油脂社製の商品名ナイパーBMT)0.23重量部、イソシアネート系架橋剤(東ソー社製の商品名コロネートL)1重量部、を含む粘着剤組成物を調製した。この粘着剤組成物をセパレータに塗工して、厚さ20μmの粘着剤層を形成し、上記アクリル樹脂フィルムに貼り合わせて光学機能フィルムを得た。
上記のようにして得られた光学機能フィルム(樹脂層/色素を含む粘着剤層)を上記評価に供した結果を表1に示す。

次に、冷却管、窒素導入管、温度計および撹拌装置を備えた反応容器にアクリル酸ブチル100重量部、アクリル酸2-ヒドロキシエチル0.01重量部、およびアクリル酸5重量部を含有するモノマー混合物を仕込んだ。さらに、前記モノマー混合物100重量部に対して、重合開始剤として2,2’-アゾビスイソブチロニトリル0.1重量部を酢酸エチル100重量部と共に仕込み、緩やかに攪拌しながら窒素ガスを導入して窒素置換した後、フラスコ内の液温を55℃付近に保って8時間重合反応を行って、重量平均分子量(Mw)180万、Mw/Mn=4.1のアクリル系ポリマーの溶液(固形分濃度30重量%)を調製した。
上記で製造したアクリル系ポリマー溶液の固形分100重量部に対して、上記一般式(I-20)で表されるスクアライン化合物0.1重量部、ラジカル発生剤(ベンゾイルパーオキサイド,日本油脂社製の商品名ナイパーBMT)0.23重量部、イソシアネート系架橋剤(東ソー社製の商品名コロネートL)1重量部、を含む粘着剤組成物を調製した。この粘着剤組成物をセパレータに塗工して、厚さ20μmの粘着剤層を形成し、上記アクリル樹脂フィルムに貼り合わせて光学機能フィルムを得た。
上記のようにして得られた光学機能フィルム(樹脂層/色素を含む粘着剤層)を上記評価に供した結果を表1に示す。
本発明の光学機能フィルムは、液晶表示装置等の画像表示装置に好適に用いられる。

Claims (4)
- 透湿度が100g/m2以下である光学機能層を備え、
該光学機能層が580nm~610nmの範囲の波長帯域に吸収ピークを有し、
該光学機能層が、下記一般式(I)または一般式(II)で表される化合物Xを含む光学機能フィルム:
R1とR2とが5または6の炭素原子から構成される飽和環状骨格を形成し、R3、R4、R5、R6、R7およびR8はそれぞれ独立して水素原子、ハロゲン原子(好ましくはCl)、炭素数1以上20以下の置換もしくは非置換のアルキル基、式(a)で表される置換基または式(b)で表される置換基であるか;
R2とR3とが5~7の炭素原子から構成される飽和環状骨格を形成し、R1、R4、R5、R6、R7およびR8はそれぞれ独立して水素原子、ハロゲン原子(好ましくはCl)、炭素数1以上20以下の置換もしくは非置換のアルキル基、式(a)で表される置換基または式(b)で表される置換基であるか;
R5とR6とが5または6の炭素原子から構成される飽和環状骨格を形成し、R1、R2、R3、R4、R7およびR8はそれぞれ独立して水素原子、ハロゲン原子(好ましくはCl)、炭素数1以上20以下の置換もしくは非置換のアルキル基、式(a)で表される置換基または式(b)で表される置換基であるか;
R6とR7とが5~7の炭素原子から構成される飽和環状骨格を形成し、R1、R2、R3、R4、R5およびR8はそれぞれ独立して水素原子、ハロゲン原子(好ましくはCl)、炭素数1以上20以下の置換もしくは非置換のアルキル基、式(a)で表される置換基または式(b)で表される置換基であるか;
R1とR2とが5または6の炭素原子から構成される飽和環状骨格を形成し、R5とR6とが5または6の炭素原子から構成される飽和環状骨格を形成し、R3、R4、R7およびR8はそれぞれ独立して水素原子、ハロゲン原子(好ましくはCl)、炭素数1以上20以下の置換もしくは非置換のアルキル基、式(a)で表される置換基または式(b)で表される置換基であるか;あるいは、
R2とR3とが5~7の炭素原子から構成される飽和環状骨格を形成し、R6とR7とが5~7の炭素原子から構成される飽和環状骨格を形成し、R1、R4、R5およびR8はそれぞれ独立して水素原子、ハロゲン原子(好ましくはCl)、炭素数1以上20以下の置換もしくは非置換のアルキル基、式(a)で表される置換基または式(b)で表される置換基であり;
式(II)において、R4、およびR8はそれぞれ独立して水素原子または炭素数1以上20以下の置換もしくは非置換のアルキル基である。 - 前記光学機能層の少なくとも片側に配置された粘着剤層をさらに備える、請求項1に記載の光学機能フィルム。
- 前記光学機能層の少なくとも片側に配置された基材をさらに備える、請求項1に記載の光学機能フィルム。
- 請求項1に記載の光学機能フィルムを備える画像表示装置。
