Description

일반적인 맘모그래피 장치는 바닥에 수직인 기둥 형상의 컬럼(column); 중간 부분이 상기 컬럼을 따라 승강 및 회전 가능하도록 연결된 상태로 양단부가 서로 마주보는 호 형상으로 꺾여 전체적으로 C자 또는 이와 유사한 형상을 나타내는 C형 암(C-arm); 상기 C형 암의 일단부에 장착되어 마주보는 타단부를 향해 엑스레이를 조사하는 X선 발생기; 상기 C형 암의 타단부에 장착되어 X선 발생기와 대면하는 디텍터; 상기 C형 암의 내면을 따라 X선 발생기와 디텍터 사이를 직선 왕복 운동하는 압박패드를 포함한다.
이와 같은 맘모그래피 장치에서, 환자가 촬영위치에 들어서면 C형 암은 컬럼을 따라 승강 및 회전해서 환자의 유방이 디텍터 상의 목적 위치에 놓이도록 높이 및 각도를 조절하고, 압박패드가 디텍터 방향으로 이동해서 유방을 가압하면 X선 발생기로부터 엑스레이 조사되어 디텍터에 수광된다. 디텍터는 엑스레이의 입사량에 비례한 위치별 전기신호를 생성하는데, 전기 신호와 위치정보를 읽어 영상처리 알고리즘으로 처리하면 해당 각도에 대한 유방의 엑스레이 영상을 얻을 수 있다. 필요하다면 위 과정은 유방을 사이에 두고 X선 발생기와 디텍터가 대면 회전하면서 반복될 수 있고, 이로써 맘모그래피 장치는 다양한 각도에서 환자의 유방에 대한 고해상도 영상을 획득할 수 있다.
이상의 촬영원리를 나타내는 일반적인 맘모그라피 장치에 있어서 환자의 불편을 최소화하고 고품질의 엑스레이 영상을 얻기 위한 핵심적인 구동 매커니즘은 압박패드의 압박동작이다. 즉, 압박패드는 엑스레이 촬영 중 유방에 직접적인 압력을 가함에 따라 환자가 느끼는 고통 내지는 불편함과 직결된다. 종래에는 검사판 상에 놓인 유방을 압박패드가 가압할 때, 필요 이상의 압력이 가해질 수 있고, 이에 따라 환자는 필요 이상의 고통을 받을 가능성이 있었다. 특히 환자들은 유방 사이즈와 밀도 등이 각기 다르기 때문에 그에 맞게 적절한 압력이 가해져야 하나 이를 정확하고 신뢰성 있게 제어하지 못하는 문제점이 있어 왔다. 압박패드의 압박 동작에 대한 신뢰성을 높일 수 있고, 압박 동작을 정밀하고 정확하게 제어할 수 있는 개선 방안이 요구된다.
본 발명은 전술한 문제의 개선을 위하여 제안된 것으로, 압박패드를 통해 환자에게 가해지는 압력을 실시간으로 모니터링 하면서 모니터링 된 전기적 신호를 이용하여 적절한 압력이 가해지도록 제어할 수 있고, 과도한 압력이 가해질 경우 압박패드의 구동력을 차단하여 환자를 보호할 수 있는 디지털 맘모그래피 장치를 제공하는 데에 그 목적이 있다.
또한, 압박패드와 압박패드 구동부 사이에 스프링을 포함하는 기계적인 메커니즘을 이용하여 힘을 전달함으로써 전자 제어 장치의 오류에 의한 오작동이 발생하더라도 환자의 신체에 갑작스럽게 과도한 압력이 가해지는 위험을 방지하는 데에 그 목적이 있다.
전술한 과제를 해결하기 위하여, 본 발명에 따른 디지털 맘모그래피 장치는, 엑스레이를 조사하는 X선 발생기와 피사체를 투과한 엑스레이를 수광하는 디텍터 사이에 이동 가능하게 설치되어 피사체를 압박하는 압박패드; 모터와 상기 모터의 동력으로 상기 압박패드를 이동시키는 동력 전달부를 구비하는 압박패드 구동부; 및 상기 압박패드가 고정되는 커플링블록과, 상기 동력 전달부에 고정되며 상기 커플링블록에 대해 상대 이동 가능하게 연결되는 이동블록을 구비하고, 상기 커플링블록과 상기 이동블록 사이의 상대 이동 변위에 따라 전기적인 신호를 제공하는 가압력 전달부를 포함한다.
상기 가압력 전달부는, 상기 커플링블록과 상기 이동블록 사이에 배치되고 상기 상대 이동 변위에 따라 변형되는 스프링; 및 상기 스프링의 일단부에 배치되어 상기 스프링의 변형에 따라 상기 전기적인 신호를 제공하는 로드셀(load cell)을 포함할 수 있다. 또한, 상기 스프링의 일단부와 상기 로드셀 사이에 설치되는 피스톤 부재를 더 포함할 수 있다.
또한, 상기 전기적인 신호로 상기 모터를 제어하는 컨트롤러를 더 포함할 수 있으며, 이러한 컨트롤러의 기능 유무에 상관없이 상기 상대 이동 변위가 미리 설정된 범위를 초과하면 상기 모터를 제어하는 안전 스위치를 더 포함할 수 있다.
본 발명에 따른 디지털 맘모그래피 장치는, 압박패드를 통해 환자에게 가해지는 압력을 실시간으로 모니터링하면서 모니터링 된 전기적 신호를 이용하여 적절한 압력이 가해지도록 제어하고, 과도한 압력이 가해질 경우 압박패드의 구동력을 차단하여 환자를 보호할 수 있도록 하는 효과가 있다.
또한, 압박패드와 압박패드 구동부 사이에 스프링을 포함하는 기계적인 메커니즘을 이용하여 힘을 전달함으로써 전자 제어 장치의 오류에 의한 오작동이 발생하더라도 환자의 신체에 갑작스럽게 과도한 압력이 가해지는 위험을 방지하는 효과가 있다.

이하에서는 도면을 참조하여 본 발명의 실시예를 설명한다. 실시예를 통해 본 발명의 기술적 사상이 명확하게 이해될 수 있을 것이다. 다만, 본 발명은 이하에 설명된 실시예에 한정되는 것이 아니라 본 발명이 속하는 기술적 사상의 범위 내에서 다양한 형태로 변형될 수 있다. 한편, 여러 도면에 사용된 동일한 도면 부호는 동일한 특성을 갖는 구성요소임을 나타내는 것으로서, 어느 한 도면을 참조하여 설명한 구성요소와 동일한 도면 부호를 갖는 구성요소에 대한 설명은 다른 도면에 대한 설명에서는 생략될 수 있다.
도 1은 본 발명의 한 실시예에 따른 디지털 맘모그래피 장치를 나타내는 사시도이고, 도 2는 본 발명의 한 실시예에 따른 디지털 맘모그래피 장치에서 압박패드 구동부 및 가압력 전달부의 구성을 나타내는 일부 분해 사시도이다.
본 발명에 따른 디지털 맘모그래피 장치는 지면에 대해 수직하게 세워져서 장치의 하중을 지지하는 컬럼(column)(10); 중간부가 상기 컬럼(10)을 따라 승강 및 회전 가능하도록 연결된 상태로 양단부가 서로 마주보는 호 형상으로 꺾여서 전체적으로 C자 또는 이와 유사한 형상을 나타내는 C형 암(C type arm)(20); 상기 C형 암(20)의 일단부에 장착되어 마주보는 타단부를 향해 엑스레이를 조사하는 X선 발생기(30); 상기 C형 암(20)의 타단부에 장착되어 X선 발생기(30)와 대향하는 디텍터(40); 상기 X선 발생기(30)와 디텍터(40) 사이를 직선 왕복 운동하는 압박패드(60); 상기 압박패드(60)를 구동시키는 압박패드 구동부(70); 및 상기 압박패드(60)와 압박패드 구동부(70) 사이에 설치되고, 상기 압박패드 구동부(70)의 동력 전달부로부터 상기 압박패드(60)로 가압력을 전달하고 전달되는 상기 가압력을 측정하여 전기적인 신호를 제공하는 가압력 전달부(100)를 포함한다.
상기 칼럼(10)은 바닥에 수직인 기둥 형상으로서 상기 C형 암(20)의 중간부로부터 연장되는 연장부(21)가 승강 가능하게 결합된다. 상기 C형 암(20)은 서로 대향하는 일단부와 타단부를 연결하는 수직 연결부(22)가 연장부(21)에 대하여 회전 가능하게 결합된다.
상기 X선 발생기(30)는 높은 운동에너지를 지닌 전자를 금속의 타겟(target)에 충돌시켜 엑스레이를 발생시키고 바람직하게는 엑스레이의 조사방향 내지는 조사면적을 제어하는 콜리메이터(collimator) 등을 포함한다.
상기 디텍터(40)는 피사체를 투과한, 즉 환자의 유방을 투과한 엑스레이를 수광하여 그에 따른 전기적인 신호를 생성하는 장치로서, 본 발명의 실시에는 엑스레이의 변환 방식에 따라 별도의 중간단계 없이 엑스레이로부터 직접의 전기적 신호를 획득하는 직접변환방식이나 엑스레이를 가시광선으로 변환하여 가시광선에 의한 간접의 전기적 신호를 얻는 간접변환방식 등 일반적인 기술내용이 폭넓게 적용될 수 있다.
상기 압박패드(60)는 상기 디텍터(40)의 전면 측에 별도로 설치된 지지대 또는 상기 디텍터(40)를 포함하는 지지대 위에 올려진 유방을 지지대 측으로 가압하며, 그 가압된 상태의 유방을 상기 X선 발생기(30)와 디텍터(40)로 촬영한다. 상기 압박패드 구동부(70)는 상기 압박패드(40)를 상하로 이동시키며 가압력을 제공할 수 있도록 구성되며, 상기 C형 암(20)의 수직 연결부(22)에 설치될 수 있다.
상기 가압력 전달부(100)는 압박패드 구동부(70)에 의해 발생하는 운동 및 힘을 상기 압박패드(60)에 전달하고, 환자의 유방에 가해지는 가압력, 즉 환자의 유방으로부터 상기 압박패드(60)에 전해지는 반발력의 세기를 측정하고 이를 전기적인 신호로 생성함으로써 컨트롤러가 이에 기초하여 상기 압박패드 구동부(70)의 동작을 제어할 수 있도록 한다. 예컨대, 가압력의 세기 자체나 그 변화의 추이를 파악하여 상기 압박패드 구동부(70)의 모터를 구동하는 제어 신호의 생성에 활용할 수 있다. 가압력의 세기가 미리 설정된 값을 초과하면 압박패드 구동부(70)의 동력을 차단하거나 반대 방향으로 구동하는 등의 활용도 가능함은 물론이다.
상기 압박패드 구동부(70)는 전기적으로 제어되는 모터와 상기 모터의 동력을 수직 왕복 운동의 형태로 변환하는 동력 전달부를 포함한다. 상기 동력 전달부는 모터에 연결된 기어박스와 풀리, 그리고 상기 풀리에 감겨 회전하는 벨트 등을 포함할 수 있다.
상기 도 2에 도시된 실시예를 좀 더 구체적으로 살펴보면, 상기 압박패드 구동부(70)는 한 쌍의 수평 브라켓(71); 상기 수평 브라켓(71)에 직교하고 서로 평행하게 설치되는 한 쌍의 가이드 샤프트(72); 상기 한 쌍의 가이드 샤프트(72)에 의해 이동이 가이드되며, 상기 가압력 전달부(100)의 구성요소가 결합되는 가이드 블록(73); 상기 가이드 블록(73) 및 상기 가압력 전달부(100)를 이동시키는 벨트(74); 및 상기 벨트(74)를 구동시키는 구동 모터와 기어 박스(75)를 포함한다.
도 3은 본 발명의 한 실시예에 따른 디지털 맘모그래피 장치의 가압력 전달부를 보이는 전방 사시도이고, 도 4는 본 발명의 한 실시예에 따른 디지털 맘모그래피 장치에서 가압력 전달부의 구성을 나타내는 분해 사시도이다.
상기 가압력 전달부(100)는 상기 동력 전달부의 일부로서 실질적으로 수직으로 왕복 운동하는 부재인 상기 벨트(74)에 고정되는 이동블록(120); 일측에 상기 이동블록(120)이 상대 이동 가능하도록 결합되고, 타측에 상기 압박 패드(60)가 고정되는 커플링블록(110)을 포함한다. 상기 커플링블록(110)에는 가이드 레일(152)이 설치되고, 상기 이동블록(120)에서 상기 가이드 레일(152)에 대응되는 측면에는 가이드 돌기(151)가 형성되어 상기 커플링블록(110)과 상기 이동블록(120)의 상대 이동이 가이드 될 수 있다. 또한, 커플링블록(110)에는 압박패드 커플링부(112)가 마련되어 여기에 압박패드(60)가 체결된다.
상기 커플링블록(110)과 상기 이동블록(120) 사이에는 이들 사이의 상대 이동 변위에 따라 변형되며 힘을 전달하는 스프링(140); 및 상기 스프링(140)의 일단부에 배치되어 상기 스프링(140)을 통해 전달되는 힘의 세기를 측정하여 전기적인 신호를 제공하는 로드셀(load cell)(170)을 포함할 수 있다. 또한, 상기 스프링(140)과 상기 로드셀(170) 사이에는 상기 스프링(140)의 양단에 걸린 힘의 전부가 상기 로드셀(170)의 측정부에 전달되도록 하는 피스톤 부재(160)를 더 포함할 수 있다.
상기 피스톤 부재(160)는 상기 스프링(140) 및 상기 로드셀(170)과 직접 접촉하는 피스톤 몸체(162)와 상기 피스톤 몸체(162)로부터 상기 스프링(140) 내부로 연장되어 상기 스프링(140)의 위치를 유지시키는 피스톤 로드(161)로 이루어질 수 있다.
도 5는 본 발명의 한 실시예에 따른 디지털 맘모그래피 장치에서 가압력 전달부의 구성을 나타내는 모식도이다.
상기 스프링(140)은 예컨대 상기 이동블록(120) 내부에 마련된 스프링 수용부(124)에 설치될 수 있다. 상기 스프링(140)은 전술한 피스톤 부재(160)에 의해 작동 범위가 제한될 수 있는데, 피스톤 로드(161)가 상기 스프링 수용부(124)의 상단부를 관통하도록 하고, 상기 피스톤 로드(161)의 상단부에 조절 너트(163)를 결합하여 스프링(140)의 초기 상태를 조절할 수 있다. 스프링(140)의 초기 상태에 따라 상기 이동블록(120)과 상기 커플링블록(110) 사이에 상대 이동이 일어나기 시작하는 최소의 가압력이 기계적으로 설정된다.
로드셀(170)은 그 바닥면이 상기 커플링블록(110)에 의해 지지되고, 측정부가 상기 피스톤 몸체(162)와 직접 접촉하며 상기 스프링(140)으로부터 가압력을 전달 받는다. 환자의 유방을 촬영할 때, 상기 압박패드(60)가 수직으로 이동하여 환자의 유방이 어느 정도 압착되는 변형을 일으키고 나면 더 이상 변형이 일어나지 않게 된다. 이때, 상기 압박패드 구동부(70)가 계속 작동하여 벨트(74)가 상기 이동블록(120)을 화살표 방향으로 내리누르면 환자의 유방으로부터 반발력을 받아 더 이상 하강하지 못하는 상기 압박패드(60)로부터 반발력을 전달받은 상기 스프링(140)이 압축되면서 상기 커플링블록(110)과 상기 이동블록(120) 사이에 상대 변위가 일어나게 된다. 다시 말해, 압박패드 구동부(70)로부터 가압력을 전달받은 스프링(140)은 탄성 변형을 통해 에너지를 저장하며 그 가압력을 커플링블록(110)에 전달하고, 상기 로드셀(170)은 상기 가압력을 측정하여 실시간으로 측정하여 전기적 신호로 제공한다.
또한, 상기 커플링블록(110)과 상기 이동블록(120) 사이에는 지지볼트(165)를 두어 상기 커플링블록(110)의 하우징 내부에서 상기 이동블록(120)이 상대 이동하는 범위를 제한하거나 스프링(140)의 초기 상태를 조절할 수 있을 뿐만 아니라, 소정의 위치에 안전스위치(180)를 설치하여 상대 이동 변위가 일정 값을 초과하면 압박패드 구동부(70)에 공급되는 전력을 셧 다운(shut-down)시키는 등 환자의 보호를 위한 강력한 안전조치를 취하도록 할 수도 있다. 상기 안전스위치(180)가 상대 이동 변위에 따라 작동하도록 하는 것은 커플링블록(110)과 이동블록(120) 사이에 스프링(140)이 존재함으로 인해 이들 사이의 상대 이동 변위에 비례하여 환자의 유방에 가해지는 가압력의 세기가 강해지기 때문이다. 상기 안전스위치(180)는 통상적으로 환자에게 가해질 수 있는 최대의 가압력이 전달될 만큼 상기 스프링(140)이 변형됐을 때에 상기 이동블록(120)이 도달하는 위치에 설치될 수 있다. 또한, 상기 안전스위치(180)로는 어떠한 상황에서도 환자를 보호할 수 있도록 기계식 스위치를 채용할 수 있다.
도 6은 본 발명의 다른 실시예에 따른 디지털 맘모그래피 장치에서 가압력 전달부의 구성을 나타내는 모식도이다.
도 6에 도시된 디지털 맘모그래피 장치의 구성은 대체로 도 5에 도시된 바와 동일하며, 차이가 있는 부분에 대해서만 설명한다.
인장형 로드셀(190)은 커플링 블록(110)과 이동블록(120) 사이에, 커플링블록(110)의 하우징 내부에서 이동블록(120)이 상대 이동함에 따라 인장되도록 설치된다. 이에 따라 피스톤 몸체(162)는 그 바닥면이 커플링블록(110)에 의해 지지되도록 설치된다.
인장형 로드셀(190)은 로드셀(170)과 마찬가지로, 이동블록(120)의 이동에 따라 발생되는 인장력을 실시간으로 측정하여 전기적 신호로 제공한다.
Claims (5)
- 엑스레이를 조사하는 X선 발생기와 피사체를 투과한 엑스레이를 수광하는 디텍터 사이에 이동 가능하게 설치되어 피사체를 압박하는 압박패드;모터와 상기 모터의 동력으로 상기 압박패드를 이동시키는 동력 전달부를 구비하는 압박패드 구동부; 및상기 압박패드가 고정되는 커플링블록과, 상기 동력 전달부에 고정되며 상기 커플링블록에 대해 상대 이동 가능하게 연결되는 이동블록을 구비하고, 상기 커플링블록과 상기 이동블록 사이의 상대 이동 변위에 따라 전기적인 신호를 제공하는 가압력 전달부를 포함하는,디지털 맘모그래피 장치.
- 청구항 1에 있어서,상기 가압력 전달부는,상기 커플링블록과 상기 이동블록 사이에 배치되고 상기 상대 이동 변위에 따라 변형되는 스프링; 및상기 스프링의 일단부에 배치되어 상기 스프링의 변형에 따라 상기 전기적인 신호를 제공하는 로드셀(load cell)을 포함하는,디지털 맘모그래피 장치.
- 청구항 2에 있어서,상기 스프링의 일단부와 상기 로드셀 사이에 설치되는 피스톤 부재를 더 포함하는,디지털 맘모그래피 장치.
- 청구항 1에 있어서,상기 전기적인 신호로 상기 모터를 제어하는 컨트롤러를 더 포함하는,디지털 맘모그래피 장치.
- 청구항 1 또는 청구항 4에 있어서,상기 상대 이동 변위가 미리 설정된 범위를 초과하면 상기 모터를 제어하는 안전 스위치를 더 포함하는,디지털 맘모그래피 장치.
