Abstract
Description
図1-3のボールエンドミル(以下、単にエンドミルと略す。)10は、ソリッドタイプのボールエンドミルであり、中心軸O周りに回転する工具本体1と、工具本体1の先端(X)側から後方に向かって(後端(Y)側に向かって)設けられた側面視で円弧状のボール刃2を具備している。ボール刃2は、先端(X)側から後方に向かう(後端(Y)側に向かう)につれて、先端視では、中心軸O側から外周側に位置している。ボール刃2の回転軌跡は略半球状となる。なお、図2では、ボール刃2が2枚(2a、2b)設けられており、中心軸Oに対して点対称に配置されている。また、中心軸Oの近傍にはギャッシュが形成され、これによって、中心軸O上を含むボール刃2a、2b間には、チゼルエッジ4が設けられている。

Claims (6)
- 中心軸周りに回転する工具本体と、該工具本体の先端側から後方に向かって設けられた側面視で円弧状のボール刃と、を具備し、前記ボール刃は、前記中心軸側から外周側に向かって曲率半径が漸次小さくなっているボールエンドミル。
- 中心軸から前記外周側に向かって前記工具本体の半径の半分の位置までの間における前記ボール刃の曲率半径は、前記工具本体の直径に対して0.8~2の比率であるとともに、前記工具本体の半径の半分の位置から外周の位置までの間における前記ボール刃の曲率半径は、前記工具本体の直径に対して0.2~1.2の比率である請求項1記載のボールエンドミル。
- 前記ボール刃の中心軸側の端部の位置における曲率半径は、前記工具本体の直径に対して1.5~2の比率であり、前記中心軸から前記工具本体の半径の半分の位置における前記ボール刃の曲率半径は、前記工具本体の直径に対して0.8~1.2の比率であり、かつ前記ボール刃の前記外周の位置における曲率半径は、前記工具本体の直径に対して0.2~0.6の比率である請求項1または2記載のボールエンドミル。
- 前記中心軸から前記外周側に向かって、前記ボール刃の曲率半径が一定の割合で連続的に小さくなっている請求項1乃至3のいずれか記載のボールエンドミル。
- 先端視で、前記ボール刃が2つ以上存在するとともに、少なくとも1つのボール刃の先端視形状が他のボール刃の先端視形状と異なっている請求項1乃至4のいずれか記載のボールエンドミル。
- 前記ボール刃は、すくい角が0°~-20°であり、前記中心軸側から前記外周側に向かってすくい角の負の値が大きくなっている請求項1乃至5のいずれか記載のボールエンドミル。
