従来のトリアリールメタン骨格一つのみからなるモノカチオンとアニオンを構成する結合種がイオン結合のみであると考えた場合、本発明の2価以上のカチオンからなる塩形成物を構成する結合種はイオン結合に加え、モノカチオン同士を連結する共有結合を含む構造であると考えることができる。そのため、下記一般式(IV)で表される構造を有する2価以上のカチオンからなる塩形成物は、従来のトリアリールメタン骨格一つからなる塩形成物よりも構成要素全体により強い結合種が増えた結果、安定性が高くなり、水和しにくくなるとともに耐熱性も向上するものと推定される。更に、一般式(IV)で表される構造は、連結基Aが、環状の脂肪族炭化水素基、又は芳香族基を含む構造を有することから、当該連結基Aの影響で分子量が大きくなり、且つ、疎水性がより高くなるため、結合の安定性と相俟って水に実質的に溶解しなくなると推定される。このため、水や洗剤を用いて洗浄した場合であっても色落ちがなく、染着性に優れるものと推定される。
なお、前記一般式(I)で表される色材は、カチオン性の発色部位に直接結合する連結基Aの炭化水素がπ結合を有していないため、カチオン性の発色部位が有する色調や透過率等の色特性は、連結基Aの導入前後でほとんど変化しない。
Aにおいて、少なくともNと直接結合する末端に飽和脂肪族炭化水素基を有する環状の脂肪族炭化水素基は、Nと直接結合する末端の炭素原子がπ結合を有しなければ、末端以外の炭素原子が不飽和結合を有していてもよく、置換基を有していてもよく、炭素鎖中に、O、S、Nが含まれていてもよい。例えば、カルボニル基、カルボキシ基、オキシカルボニル基、アミド基等が含まれていてもよく、水素原子が更にハロゲン原子等に置換されていてもよい。
また、Aにおいて上記脂肪族炭化水素基を有する芳香族基は、少なくともNと直接結合する末端に飽和脂肪族炭化水素基を有する、単環又は多環芳香族基が挙げられ、置換基を有していてもよく、O、S、Nが含まれる複素環であってもよい。
環状の脂肪族炭化水素基としては、中でも、有橋脂環式炭化水素基が、骨格の堅牢性の点から好ましい。有橋脂環式炭化水素基とは、脂肪族環内に橋かけ構造を有し、多環構造を有する多環状脂肪族炭化水素基をいい、例えば、ノルボルナン、ビシクロ[2,2,2]オクタン、アダマンタン等が挙げられる。有橋脂環式炭化水素基の中でも、ノルボルナンが好ましい。また、芳香族基としては、例えば、ベンゼン環、ナフタレン環を含む基が挙げられ、中でも、ベンゼン環を含む基が好ましい。
連結基Aとしては、中でも、Nと直接結合する炭素原子が電子的に安定し、カチオン骨格の安定性が向上する点から、末端に飽和脂肪族炭化水素基を有する環状の脂肪族炭化水素基であることが好ましい。
原料入手の容易さの観点からAは2価が好ましい。例えば、Aが2価の有機基の場合、炭素数1~20の直鎖、分岐、又は環状のアルキレン基や、キシリレン基等の炭素数1~20のアルキレン基を2個置換した芳香族基等が挙げられる。
R1~R5におけるアリール基は、特に限定されない。例えば、フェニル基、ナフチル基等が挙げられる。アリール基が有してもよい置換基としては、例えばアルキル基、ハロゲン原子等が挙げられる。
B-は1価のアニオンであれば、特に限定されず、有機アニオンであっても無機アニオンであってもよい。ここで有機アニオンとは、炭素原子を少なくとも1つ含有するアニオンを表す。また、無機アニオンとは、炭素原子を含有しないアニオンを表し、例えば、フッ化物イオン、塩化物イオン、臭化物イオン、ヨウ化物イオンのようなハロゲン化物イオンや、硝酸イオン(NO-)、過塩素酸イオン(ClO4 -)等が挙げられる。
アニオン性置換基としては、例えば、-SO2N-SO2CH3、-SO2N-COCH3、-SO2N-SO2CF3、-SO2N-COCF3、-CF2SO2N-SO2CH3、-CF2SO2N-COCH3、-CF2SO2N-SO2CF3、-CF2SO2N-COCF3等のイミド酸基や、-SO3 -、-CF2SO3 -、-COO-、-CF2COO-等の置換基が挙げられる。
中でも、原材料入手の容易さや製造コスト、高い酸性度によりカチオンを安定化し発色状態を維持する効果が高い点から、イミド酸基や、-SO3 -、-CF2SO3 -が好ましく、更に、-SO3 -(スルホナト基)であることが好ましい。
上記アニオン性置換基が置換される有機基としては、例えば、シクロプロパン、シクロブタン、シクロペンタン、シクロヘキサン、ノルボルナン、ビシクロ[2,2,2]ヘキサン、ビシクロ[3,2,3]オクタン、アダマンタン等の炭化水素;ベンゼン、ナフタレン、アントラセン、フェナントレン、ピレン、トリフェニレン、フルオレン、フラン、チオフェン、ピロール、イミダゾール、ピラン、ピリジン、ピリミジン、ピラジン、トリアジン、インドール、プリン、キノリン、イソキノリン、キサンテン、カルバゾール等の芳香族化合物が挙げられ、更にハロゲン原子、アルキル基等の置換基を有していてもよい。
アニオン性置換基が置換される有機基としては、中でも、アニオン性置換基の導入が容易な点から、単環又は多環芳香族炭化水素基及びこれらが組み合わされた基であることが好ましい。
染料由来の骨格や酸性染料、直接染料、酸性媒染染料等を用いた場合には、得られる色材の色調が変化し、前記一般式(I)で表される色材の色調を所望のものに調整することができる。
本発明の色材のアニオン部として、一般式(III)のアニオンを用いた場合には、前記カチオン部との組み合わせにより、色材を所望の色に調整することができる。
一方、本発明に係る色材は、23℃における前記色材の溶解度が、0.1(mg/10g溶媒)以下の溶媒、すなわち、実質的に溶解しない溶媒又は難溶性の溶媒に分散させて用いることができる。この場合、その凝集状態を保持したまま溶媒中に分散されるため溶媒に溶解させて用いた場合に比べ、耐熱性が高くなる。中でも、23℃における前記色材の溶解度が、0.01(mg/10g溶媒)以下である溶媒が好ましく、更に、前記色材を実質的に溶解しない溶媒がより好ましい。本発明に係る色材は正塩であるため、酸性塩を用いた場合のように、分散が好適に進行しない場合や、分散液が保存時にゲル化するといった問題が生じず、分散性及び分散安定性が高い。
20mLサンプル管瓶に評価する溶媒を10g投入し、更に前記色材0.1gを投入し、ふたをして20秒間よく振った後、23℃のウォーターバス内で10分間静置する。この上澄み液5gをろ過し不溶物を除く。得られたろ液を更に1000倍に希釈した溶液の吸光スペクトルを紫外可視分光光度計(例えば、島津製作所社製 UV-2500PC)で1cmセルを用いて測定し、最大吸収波長における吸光度を求める。このとき、最大吸収波長における吸光度が2未満であれば当該溶媒は、一般式(I)で表される色材を23℃における前記色材の溶解度が、0.1(mg/10g溶媒)以下の溶媒(難溶性の溶媒)であると評価できる。
一般式(I)で表される色材の製造方法は、特に限定されないが、例えば、以下の方法でカチオン部を製造した後、必要に応じて対アニオンを導入することにより得ることができる。
一つの方法として、本発明に係る下記一般式(I)で表わされる色材の製造方法は、下記一般式(A)で表される化合物と、下記一般式(B)で表される化合物とを縮合反応させる工程を有することを特徴とする。
aは2以上の整数を表す。bは0又は1であり、bが0のとき結合は存在しない。複数あるbは同一であっても異なっていてもよい。)
まず、カチオン部の前駆化合物である、下記一般式(A)で表される化合物を合成する。また、一般式(A)で表される化合物は市販品を用いてもよい。
上記反応における反応温度は、特に制限はないが、通常100~150℃程度であり、副反応を抑制する点から130~145℃であることが好ましい。また、上記反応の反応圧力に特に制限はないが、常圧~0.1MPaが望ましく、常圧がさらに望ましい。また上記反応における反応時間は、合成量や反応温度等により変動する場合があるので一概には言えないが、通常6~72時間、好ましくは6~48時間の範囲に設定される。
前記一般式(I)で表される色材のカチオン部は、前記一般式(A)で表される化合物と、下記一般式(B)で表される化合物を、縮合反応させることによりカチオン部を合成する。例えば、オキシ塩化リン等の塩素化剤を用いて溶媒中で反応させることにより、カチオン部の塩化物として得ることができる。下記一般式(B)で表される化合物は市販品を用いることができる。
上記反応における反応温度は、特に制限はないが、通常110~150℃程度であり、副反応を抑制する点から110~120℃であることが好ましい。また、上記反応の反応圧力に特に制限はないが、常圧~0.1MPaが望ましく、常圧がさらに望ましい。また上記反応における反応時間は、合成量や反応温度等により変動する場合があるので一概には言えないが、通常1~10時間、好ましくは1~5時間の範囲に設定される。
和光純薬(株)製 1-ヨードナフタレン18.7g(73.4mmol)、ナトリウムtert-ブトキシド9.88g(102.8mmol)、東京化成(株)製 p-キシレンジアミン5.0g(36.7mmol)、アルドリッチ製 2-ジシクロヘキシルホスフィノ-2’,4’,6’-トリイソプロピルビフェニル0.27g(0.57mmol)、和光純薬(株)製 酢酸パラジウム0.054g(0.28mmol)、キシレン36mLに分散し130-135℃で24時間反応させた。反応終了後、室温に冷却し析出した結晶を濾過し、メタノールで洗浄した。次いで水で洗浄して乾燥して下記化学式(1)で示される中間体1 9.79g(収率69%)を得た。
得られた化合物は、下記の分析結果より目的の化合物であることを確認した。
・MS(ESI) (m/z):389(+)、
・元素分析値:CHN実測値 (86.72%、6.54%、6.97%);理論値(86.56%、6.23%、7.21%)
中間体1 10.0g(25.7mmol)、トルエン100mL、和光純薬工業製オキシ塩化リン 7.89g(51.5mmol)を入れ、攪拌した。次いで、東京化成工業製 4,4’-ビス(ジエチルアミノ)ベンゾフェノン16.2g(49.9mmol)を添加し5時間還流し冷却した。反応終了後、トルエンをデカントした。水100mLを加えて樹脂状の析出物を濾過した。該ケーキを希塩酸で分散し濾過、水洗を行った後、乾燥し、下記化学式(2)で示される色材Aを18.4g(収率66%)得た。
得られた化合物は、下記の分析結果より目的の化合物であることを確認した。
・MS(ESI) (m/z):501(+)、2価
・元素分析値:CHN実測値 (78.02%、7.13%、7.11%);理論値(78.26%、7.32%、7.82%)
東京化成工業製p-トルエンスルホン酸ナトリウム 1.15g(5.94mmol)、メタノール33mL、水33mLを入れ50-55℃で攪拌した。実施例1で得られた色材A 3.19g(2.97mmol)を添加し、50-55℃で1時間攪拌をおこなった。エバポレータで溶液中のメタノールを濃縮し、水を100mL加え沈殿物を濾取し、水で洗浄した。該ケーキを乾燥して下記化学式(3)で表される色材Bを3.33g(収率83%)得た。
得られた化合物は、下記の分析結果より目的の化合物であることを確認した。
・MS(ESI) (m/z):502(+)、2価、171(-)1価
・元素分析値:CHN実測値 (75.18%、7.11%、6.15%);理論値(74.97%、6.89%、6.24%)
和光純薬(株)製 1-ヨードナフタレン15.2g(60mmol)、三井化学(株)製 ノルボルナンジアミン(NBDA)(CAS No.56602-77-8)4.63g(30mmol)、ナトリウム-tert-ブトキシド 8.07g(84mmol)、アルドリッチ製 2-ジシクロヘキシルホスフィノ-2’,6’,-ジメトキシビフェニル 0.09g(0.2mmol)、和光純薬(株)製 酢酸パラジウム 0.021g(0.1mmol)、キシレン 30mLに分散し130-135℃で48時間反応させた。反応終了後、室温に冷却し水を加え抽出した。次いで硫酸マグネシウムで乾燥し濃縮することにより下記化学式(4)で示される中間体2 8.5g(収率70%)を得た。
得られた化合物は、下記の分析結果より目的の化合物であることを確認した。
・MS(ESI) (m/z):407(M+H)、
・元素分析値:CHN実測値 (85.47%、8.02%、6.72%);理論値(85.26%、8.11%、6.63%)
中間体2 8.46g(20.8mmol)、東京化成工業製 4,4’-ビス(ジメチルアミノ)ベンゾフェノン13.5g(41.6mmol)トルエン60mLを入れ45-50℃で攪拌した。和光純薬工業製オキシ塩化リン 6.38g(51.5mmol)を滴下し、2時間還流し冷却した。反応終了後、トルエンをデカントした。樹脂状析出物をクロロホルム40mL、水40mL、濃塩酸を加えて溶解しクロロホルム層を分液した。クロロホルム層を水で洗浄し、硫酸マグネシウムで乾燥、濃縮した。濃縮物に酢酸エチル65mLを加え還流した。冷却の後に析出物を濾過し下記化学式(5)で示される色材Cを15.9g(収率70%)得た。
得られた化合物は、下記の分析結果より目的の化合物であることを確認した。
・MS(ESI) (m/z):511(+)、2価
・元素分析値:CHN実測値 (78.13%、7.48%、7.78%);理論値(78.06%、7.75%、7.69%)
下記化学式(6)で示される、東京化成工業(株)製 Basic Blue 7(CI-42595)(BB7)を比較例1の色材Dとして用いた。
東京化成工業(株)製 p-トルエンスルホン酸ナトリウム0.97g(5.02mmol)を水50mL、メタノール50mLに溶解させた。次いで、東京化成工業(株)製 Basic Blue 7(CI-42595)5.0g(9.73mmol)を加え、常温で1時間攪拌した。該反応液を減圧下で濾取し、水で洗浄した。該ケーキを減圧乾燥して下記化学式(7)で示される色材E3.0g(収率92%)を得た。
東京化成工業(株)製 ナフタレン-2,6-スルホネート2ナトリウム1.62g(5.02mmol)を水50mL、メタノール50mLに溶解させた。次いで、東京化成工業(株)製 Basic Blue 7(CI-42595)5.0g(9.73mmol)を加え、常温で1時間攪拌した。該反応液を減圧下で濾取し、水で洗浄した。該ケーキを減圧乾燥して下記化学式(8)で示される色材F5.2g(収率 86%)を得た。
比較例3において、ナフタレン-2,6-スルホネート2ナトリウムの代わりに、東京化成工業製Direct Blue 86 3.92g(5.02mmol)を用いた以外は、比較例3と同様にして、下記化学式(9)で示される色材Gを得た。
特許文献4に記載の手法に従い、ポリシロキサン色素の12モリブドリン酸塩を合成し、色材Hを得た。
51.52gの東京化成社製Basic Blue 7(BB7)を750mlのイオン交換水に溶解させ、次いで、撹拌下で、この色素の脱プロトン化した形体が完全に沈殿し、溶液中に青色の色がまったく残らず、数時間は元に戻らなくなるまで2N水酸化ナトリウム水溶液を加えた。この沈殿物を濾別し、イオン交換水で3回洗浄し、減圧(0.1kPa)下の60℃で乾燥させた。45.23g(94.7%)の脱プロトン化されたBB7をほぼ黒色の粉末として単離した。
実施例1及び実施例3で得られた色材A及びC、並びに、それぞれ10mgをメタノール100mLに溶解させ、20倍に希釈したものを測定溶液とした。1cm石英セルを用い、日立分光光度計U-3500にて吸光スペクトルを測定した。
また、対照品として、単量体であるBB7、10mgをメタノール100mLに溶解させ、20倍に希釈したものを測定溶液とし、上記と同様の方法で吸光スペクトルを測定した。結果を図1に示す。
図1の結果から、色材A及びCは、連結基を有しないBB7とほぼ同一のピーク形状を有し、色がほとんど変わらないことが明らかとなった。
このように、Nと直接結合する炭素原子がπ結合を有しない連結基Aを有する一般式(I)で表わされる色材は、連結基を有しない単量体の色材と同様の色を有することが明らかとなった。
実施例1~3及び比較例1~5の色材A~Hをそれぞれ0.05gをサンプル管瓶にいれ、サンプル管瓶を除く総重量が1.0gになるようにメタノール(関東化学製)を加えた。このものに磁気攪拌子をいれ、室温で1時間攪拌し、目視により色材が溶解したかを判別した。溶解していれば○、不溶物が確認できれば×とした。
(1)熱分解温度の評価
実施例1~3及び比較例1~5の色材A~Hをそれぞれ約5mgを石英製パンにいれ、株式会社リガク社製、差動型示差熱天秤(TG-DTA) TG8120を用い、リファレンスとして石英製パンにアルミナ、昇温速度5℃/分として800℃まで測定を行った。得られたTG曲線のピークの外挿温度を分解点とし、分解点における温度を熱分解温度とした。熱分解温度は耐熱性を示す指標とすることができる。
実施例1~3及び比較例1~5の色材A~Hをそれぞれ約5mgを石英製パンにいれ、株式会社リガク社製、差動型示差熱天秤(TG-DTA) TG8120を用い、リファレンスとして石英製パンにアルミナ、昇温速度20℃/分で230℃まで昇温し230℃到達時点から60分同温で保持したのち重量減少率を測定した。重量減少率は下記式により算出され、耐熱性を示す指標とすることができる。
重量減少率 = (加熱前重量 - 加熱後重量)/加熱前重量 ×100(%)
(1)布への染着
実施例1の色材Aを0.5gとって、メタノール10mlを加えて、色材Aのメタノール溶液とした。当該メタノール溶液0.1mlを布に滴下し、ドライヤーでメタノールを除去し、色材Aを布に染着した。
また、色材Aの代わりに色材B~Hをそれぞれ用いた以外は、上記と同様にして、色材B~Hを布に染着した。
色材A~Hが染着した布を、20℃の流水で10分間洗浄して、目視により色落ちを観察し、下記評価基準に従って評価した。
[評価基準]
○:色落ちがなかった。
△:色落ちが確認された。
×:色が残らなかった。
色材A~Hが染着した布を、界面活性剤を含む洗剤に5分間浸漬した後、20℃の流水で5分間洗浄して、目視により色落ちを観察し、上記水による評価と同様の評価基準により評価した。
各評価結果を表1に示す。
一般式(I)で表される実施例1~3の色材A~Cは、染着性及び耐熱性に優れていることが明らかとなった。
従来のトリアリールメタン系染料である比較例1の色材は、耐熱性及び染着性に劣っていた。比較例2~4のようにアニオンを代えることにより、耐熱性及び染着性が改善されたが不十分であり、家庭用洗剤によって簡単に色落ちするものであった。
比較例5の色材は、トリアリールメタン系染料がシロキサンによって重合された構造を有するカチオンを含有するが、重合度の異なる色素の混合物であるため、耐熱性及び染着性は不十分であり、メタノールに対して溶け残りが存在した。

aは2以上の整数を表す。bは0又は1であり、bが0のとき結合は存在しない。複数あるbは同一であっても異なっていてもよい。) - 前記一般式(I)におけるアニオン(B-)が、スルホナト基(-SO3 -基)を有する有機アニオンである、請求の範囲第1項に記載の色材。
- 下記一般式(A)で表される化合物と、下記一般式(B)で表される化合物とを縮合反応させる工程を有する、下記一般式(I)で表わされる色材の製造方法。
