Abstract

 液晶シャッターは、表示装置の観察者の視野角内に配置され、表示装置の時分割表示に対応して制御される。液晶シャッターは、入射光の透過又は遮蔽の制御が可能な有効シャッター領域と、有効シャッター領域の外側に位置し、入射光を減衰させる光減衰領域とを有する。液晶シャッターは、中心付近からの光に対してはシャッター機能を持ち、周囲からの光に対してはシャッター機能を持たないので、観察者が感じるちらつきが抑制される。
