Abstract

Provided is a composition suitable for absorbing coenzyme Q10 by a livestock, a poultry, a fish, a shellfish, a pet animal or the like efficiently. The composition is used to produce a livestock product (e.g., egg, milk) that contains coenzyme Q10 at a high concentration. The livestock product is used to produce a food. Thus, also provided are a product and a method which enable the efficient intake of coenzyme Q10 through an ordinary diet. As a result of an intensive and extensive study, it is found that the content of coenzyme Q10 in the blood of a living organism of interest (e.g., chicken) can be increased satisfactorily by producing an emulsion-type composition comprising oxidized or reduced coenzyme Q10 and a surfactant and/or a water-soluble polymer and mixing the composition with a feed. It is also found that a chicken egg, a milk, a meet or the like each having a high coenzyme Q10 content can be produced by using the mixed feed. The chicken egg or the milk are expected to be extremely useful for maintaining good health of a human body.
