Abstract

 走行風を利用してスイッチング素子の冷却を行う電力変換装置において、複数のスイッチング素子を複数個並列接続する場合の効果的な配置構成、および冷却器のフィンの効果的な構造を開示すること。冷却器50Aは、少なくともスイッチング素子取り付け面となるフィンベース40Aと、その反対面に配置された複数のフィン42Aと、を有して構成され、各フィン42Aは放熱のため外気に接するよう配置され、電力変換回路が正側アーム(UPC,VPC)および負側アーム(UNC,VNC)からなるレグを複数組有する単相あるいは多相のブリッジ回路である場合に、各相のレグを構成する各スイッチング素子の組(UPCとUNC、およびVPCとVNC)をフィンベース40A上に電気車の進行方向に順次並べて配置する。
