Abstract

　等速ジョイントの外輪の開口部を覆ってシールするブーツを保護することができる車輪支持装置を提供する。 　車輪が取り付けられるハブホイール１０と、駆動軸６０にトルク伝達可能に接続される等速ジョイント５０とが一体化される。ハブホイール１０の外周に転がり軸受２０が設けられ、転がり軸受２０の外輪３０が車体側部材４２に取り付けられる。等速ジョイント５０の外輪５５と駆動軸６０に跨って等速ジョイント５０の外輪５５の開口部を覆ってシールするブーツ８０が取り付けられる。転がり軸受２０の外輪３０の車体側端部の外周面には、ブーツ８０の外周を覆って保護する中空筒状の保護カバー１００の一端部が取り外し可能に嵌込まれる環状嵌込部５８が、保護カバー１００の厚さ寸法に対応する段差部をもって形成されている。
