Abstract
A welding unit (1) for welding two rail ends (2) of a track comprises two unit halves (5, 6), which can be displaced in a longitudinal direction (18) of the rail by means of compressing cylinders (9). Each of these unit halves (5, 6) is connected to a measuring device (19) that serves to record a relative displacement in the longitudinal direction (18) of the rail between a clamping jaw (10) and the assigned rail end (2). Als Folge großer Reibungskräfte zwischen den Schienen und Unterlagsplatten sind dabei große Widerstände zu überwinden. Falls nun infolge eines ungenügenden Kraft-
Schlusses eine Relativverschiebung zwischen Klemmbacken 10 und Schienensteg 24 in Schienenlängsrichtung 18 erfolgt, wird das Kontaktrad 22 gedreht und damit der Weggeber 23 aktiviert. Sobald dieser über eine Leitung 25 Impulse an die Steuereinheit 7 abgibt, wird der Schweißvorgang als fehlerhaft registriert und abgebrochen.
