Description

Leitschiene für die Anbringung an EinbahnstraßenGuardrail for attachment to one-way streets
The invention relates to a guardrail for attachment to one-way streets.
Guardrails have become known in a wide variety of designs and are usually attached to both sides of the road in order to delimit the road area from the surrounding area and also to prevent vehicles from straying from the road. Guide rails usually consist of a metal profile, which is anchored to the floor at regular intervals using uprights. Guardrails are increasingly also formed by continuous concrete walls. It is common for guardrails to be provided with reflectors, which make it easier to recognize the roadside in the dark. The known guardrails are now to be developed in such a way that they are particularly suitable for special use on one-way streets.
One-way streets are usually only allowed to be driven in the prescribed direction of travel, whereby vehicles driving on the one-way street against the prescribed direction of travel pose a particular danger. Such drivers are commonly referred to as "ghost drivers". Ghost drivers pose a particular danger if they drive the one-way directional lanes of motorways in the wrong direction, and it has therefore already been suggested that additional warning devices be provided on sections of the lane over which entry into one-way streets against the prescribed direction of travel is possible install, which are automatically activated by the vehicles traveling in the wrong direction and send warning signals that are intended to cause the driver of such a vehicle to refrain from continuing in the wrong direction and to move the vehicle away from the wrong-lane area. Warning devices of this type usually consist of a travel direction detector which, contrary to the prescribed The vehicle automatically detects the direction of travel, and an acoustic or visual signal generator, which warns the driver who is driving improperly and the oncoming vehicles accordingly. The known warning devices are usually only positioned at a few points, and it has been shown that these can be easily overlooked, so that a sufficient warning is not given. The known warning devices usually have the shape of a shining or blinking traffic sign set up on the side of the road and, due to the fleeting way of looking at the vehicle as it drives past quickly, they often cannot be distinguished from conventional signaling systems which are arranged in the area of construction sites.
The present invention aims to provide a guardrail which is particularly suitable for use on one-way streets and which can be easily integrated into a warning system for ghost drivers. For this purpose, the invention essentially consists in the fact that the guardrail has optical warning signal transmitters which are connected to a direction-of-travel detector via control lines or wirelessly and which are activated when a vehicle moving against the prescribed direction of travel is detected. The fact that the guardrail has optical warning signals creates an effective warning system for ghost drivers, which can be easily integrated into the existing road demarcation without time-consuming conversion work. The optical warning signal generators can be arranged protected within the profile of the guardrail, so that correct functioning is guaranteed regardless of the prevailing external environmental influences. In contrast to the known warning devices, which are attached in the form of the usual warning or information signs on the roadside and which can therefore be easily overlooked by the motorists, the guide rail according to the invention with the integrated optical warning signal transmitters provides a significantly improved signal effect, since the Signals due to their unusual Placement is an eye-catcher and is definitely in the driver's field of vision. It has been shown that uniform signals arranged over a longer distance are also perceived to be significantly more specific by persons with restricted attention (such as alcohol, medication, drugs, psychopathological reaction situations such as stress, depression, congestion, various types of organic brain deficiency, etc.) as one-off or few signals.
Another advantage results from the fact that the guardrails are attached to both lane edges in the case of one-way streets, in particular in the case of highways, so that a warning is not only given from the right-hand side of the road, to which traffic signs or signs are usually attached, but also on left side of the road, where it was often not possible to set up the known warning devices due to the limited space available. The possibility of placing warning signal generators on the left side of the lane in the prescribed direction of travel is particularly important if not only the ghost driver traveling in the opposite direction of travel, but above all the drivers driving in the prescribed direction of travel are to be warned in good time. In particular, vehicles driving on the left lane of a one-way street are particularly at risk from a ghost driver, and it is therefore particularly important that these drivers are warned accordingly by unmistakable signals so that they can switch to the right lane in good time.
To warn the vehicles moving in the prescribed direction of travel, the guardrail according to the invention is further developed in such a way that the optical warning signal transmitters are arranged in a first color and in a second color against the prescribed direction of travel in a luminous manner on the guardrail. The warning signals shining against the ghost driver can be red, for example, and the shining yellow against the handlebars driving in the prescribed direction of travel his. The warning signal transmitters attached to the guardrail are preferably designed as flashing lights or as periodically flashing flash lamps, the lights or flashing lights should be designed with a sufficient light intensity so that the signal can also be recognized directly in daylight or in unfavorable lighting conditions, such as, for example, against backlighting.
However, in contrast to the known warning systems, the warning signal in the guardrail according to the invention is generally given solely by the fact that a large number of signal transmitters are arranged along the length of the guardrail without great structural complexity. For this purpose, the invention is developed in such a way that a plurality of warning signal transmitters over a length of at least 500 m, preferably at least 800 m, are arranged on the guide rail in front of the direction of travel detector in the prescribed direction of travel. This also ensures that the vehicles moving in the prescribed direction of travel are warned accordingly at a sufficient distance from the ghost driver. Ideally, however, the visual warning signal generators should be arranged along the entire route from the driveway via which the ghost driver can drive onto the motorway contrary to the prescribed direction of travel to the next possible departure point via which he can in turn drive off. According to a preferred embodiment, the distance between adjacent warning signal transmitters should be less than 50 m, preferably less than 10 m. In any case, the warning signal generators should be so close together that they have an effect on the driver that is perceived as a threat. If necessary, distances of less than 1 m may also be necessary.
Attaching the direction of travel detector is generally an option for all freeway entrances as well as for parking, petrol and service stations. There are no restrictions on the design of the travel direction detector, and it can a number of already known sensors are used, for example radar sensors, which radiate approximately in the direction of the course of the road to be monitored and determine the direction of movement of the reflecting object or vehicle from the phase shift or time shift of the reflected signal relative to the transmitted signal. Other contactless sensors, for example infrared sensors or ultrasonic sensors for the travel direction detector, can also be used. Inductively operating sensors can also be arranged in the road surface.
According to the invention, the connection of the travel direction detector to the optical warning signal transmitters can take place via control lines or wirelessly.
In order to facilitate the retrofitting of existing guardrails, the invention is preferably designed in such a way that a plurality of optical warning signal transmitters are arranged in a transparent tube or a flexible hose attached to the guardrail. Such transparent tubes or flexible hoses can be attached to the guide rails in a simple manner, only care being taken for the corresponding connection to the direction-of-travel detector. With such a design, the warning signal generators can also be arranged without difficulty on guard rails which are formed by a concrete wall or concrete elements or at locations where the guard rail is formed in the broadest sense, for example by a tunnel wall, since here the guard rails are usually not separate structural elements are formed. The reflectors usually attached to the guardrail can also be arranged in the tube, namely between the warning signal generators, so that the original function of the guardrail is also guaranteed. For example, a reflector could follow three warning signals at a time. The direction of travel detector and the warning signal transmitter are preferably connected to a solar power supply system, so that operation is ensured independently of an external power supply. It can be found with a solar power supply system with relatively low power, which can also be created with relatively little effort, because the warning signal generators provided can achieve a large signal effect with relatively low energy consumption. In addition, it can be expected that the warning device will only be activated rarely, namely only if vehicles in violation of existing regulations drive the monitored road route in the wrong direction of travel.
The direction of travel detector is preferably connected to a signaling system for communication with monitoring personnel, so that immediately after a ghost driver has been recognized by the direction of travel detector, suitable measures can be taken to warn the motorists in addition to the warning signal transmitters, for example via radio.
The invention will now be explained in more detail with reference to an exemplary embodiment shown schematically in the drawing. A vehicle 3 is traveling in the prescribed direction of travel on the two-lane directional lane 1, and an oncoming spirit driver 4 can be seen, which is detected by the direction of travel detector 5. Optical warning signals 8 are provided on the guide rails 6 and 7 attached to both road edges attached, which are triggered by the travel direction detector 5. As can be seen more clearly in the detailed view according to FIG. 2, the warning signal generators 8 are designed such that they shine in a first color in the direction of arrow 9 in the direction of the prescribed direction of travel towards the ghost driver 4 and in a second color in the direction of arrow 10 counteract the correctly driving handlebar 3. In the embodiment according to FIG. 2, the warning signal generators 8 are installed directly in the guide rail 7 and adapted to their profile shape. However, the warning signal generators 8 can also be arranged in a transparent tube 11, as is shown in FIGS. 3a to 3c. In the sectional view it can be seen here that the tube or the tube 11 can be optimally fitted into the profile of the guide rail 7, so that a protected arrangement of the signal transmitters is achieved.
4a to 4d, the warning signal generator 8 is shown in different views, it becoming clear that there are two light signals radiating in the opposite direction. The corresponding different colored cover glasses are designated 12 and 13.
