Verfahren zur Abkühlung eines verdrillten FilamentgarnesProcess for cooling a twisted filament yarn
Fig. 1 zeigt schematisch eine Falschdrall-Texturierstelle herkömmlicher Technik. Fig. 1 shows schematically a false twist texturing point of conventional technology. The false twist texturing process for a thermoplastic filament yarn 1 is implemented in a known manner in the texturing point 2 by the succession of a heating zone 3, a cooling zone 4, and an aggregate 5 for introducing the twist. The yarn 1 is made plastically deformable as it passes through the heating zone 3 and at the same time receives a real rotation 7. In the cooling zone 4 which follows, the yarn 1 is solidified again in the twisted form. After passing through the twist assembly 5, this twist dissolves again in the yarn structure and only remains as an internal tension in the textured yarn 6. When the textured yarn is later processed, this inner tension creates the characteristic bulk and elasticity of the textured yarn.
The performance of a texturing point is given by the speed of the yarn as it passes through these zones. With increasing speed, the requirements for heat transfer during heating or cooling, and for the rotation introduced, also increase. The inventive method claimed below relates to a method to improve the cooling of the yarn and the introduction of the twist and thus to achieve a higher production speed.
In an article in ITB magazine, International Textile Bulletin, No. 1/98, "Texturing at high speed", the highest practicable production speed is set at 1000 m / min.
Ebenso sind dort verschiedene Verbesserungsvorschläge angegeben, welche auf zusätzlicher Blasluft, auf verbesserter Kühlung der Kühlschiene selbst, und auf der Benetzung des GarnesThe technology currently used for cooling the yarn is based on painting over a cooled, metallic surface in the form of an elongated cooling rail or a cylindrical heat sink. This process is described in ITB, International Textile Bulletin, No. 3/99, in the article "Increasing Texture Speed Through More Effective Cooling". There are also various suggestions for improvement which relate to additional blown air, improved cooling of the cooling rail itself, and on the wetting of the yarn

In the latter proposal, it is particularly pointed out that regardless of the amount of water conveyed, the yarn always remains dry after the water portion used for cooling has evaporated because the residual water is thrown off. This statement applies to the described arrangement of a wetting point in front of the cooling rail.
The patent JP 9157973A "Yarn cooling apparatus of draw false-twist texturing machine" specifies a thread guide which serves to apply water as a cooling medium. The thread first sweeps over a portion which serves to guide the thread and is then wetted by the water supplied from the side. This evaporates before the yarn touches the cooling rail and the possible addition of water to the cooling rail itself is also mentioned. The methods described above are all based on direct contact of the yarn with a stationary mechanical body with a large surface. The decisive disadvantage of these solutions is that that this touch hinders the propagation of the twist into the deformable hot zone of the yarn, which must be compensated for by an excessive twist initiation, which in turn limits the production speed which can be achieved without unduly stressing and closing the yarn in the twist unit to damage.
Another proposal to improve the cooling effect is given in US Pat. 5,404,706. Here the yarn passes through a water tank instead of a cooling rail. The thread path is sealed at the entry and exit. In particular, it is mentioned that this seal is necessary in order to avoid escaping along the yarn path because an entry of water and any accompanying substances into the swirl unit is harmful.
Here, too, the seals inhibit the propagation of the swirl, and this swirl loss must be compensated for by excessive swirl initiation.
Another disadvantage of the known methods is that the surface of the yarn unprotected from the friction on the cooling surface and in Swirl unit is exposed. With prior heating, the preparation applied during spinning, which forms a protective layer, is burned away. In the classic texturing process, it is only replaced immediately before winding. The lack of a protective coating further promotes the vulnerability of the yarn when the twist is introduced. The powdery abrasion generated in the swirl unit is the striking characteristic of this effect.
It has now emerged as a surprising result of tests that with precisely metered addition of coolant, but generally not exclusively water, preferably with a mixed preparation agent, cooling by mechanical contact with the yarn can be dispensed with entirely, and the twist transmission in Swirl unit is thereby improved. This has enabled yarn speeds of 2000 m / min to be achieved when texturing.
Fig. 2 zeigt die erfindungsgemässe Texturierstelle im Überblick, Fig. 3 die weitere Ausgestaltung mit verschiedenen Einzelheiten.FIG. 2 shows an overview of the texturing point according to the invention, FIG. 3 shows the further configuration with various details.
In the method according to the invention, a liquid 8 is brought onto the yarn 1 between the heating zone and the swirl unit to cool and protect the yarn surface, which liquid cools the yarn with partial evaporation. With the non-evaporated residue 10, the yarn is protected and the twist transfer is promoted by influencing the surface friction.
In order to ensure that a quantity 10 of liquid 8 going beyond the evaporated portion 9 is applied, its supply is tracked with a metering pump 11 with a drive 12, which is preferably operated in a closed control loop dependent base amount also takes into account the process-dependent sizes of yarn speed 13 and yarn temperature 14. In order to monitor the function of the liquid application and, if necessary, to additionally regulate it, the electrical resistance 15 is preferably measured on a yarn section 16 in front of the swirl unit 5. The first phase of the cooling process takes place by evaporating the coolant 8, as already known. In order to prevent an uncontrolled spreading and precipitation of this steam 9 in the environment, a corresponding steam suction 17 with recondensation 18 and return 19 of the coolant is preferably provided. In order to keep the process parameters in the cooling zone 4 constant, the supplied coolant 8 is preferably cooled to a constant temperature below room temperature.
Fig. 4 shows the function of a swirl stop element between the heating section and the cooling section. For the stability of the yarn run in the cooling section, it is beneficial to stop the twist at the exit of the heating zone 3 with a twist stop element 21 of known type in the form of a deflection wheel 22. The cooling liquid 8 is introduced immediately after the swirl stop element 21, preferably on the deflection wheel 22 itself.
