Description

DEVICE FOR ATTACHING ACCESSORIES IN A CAR
The object of the invention is a device for attaching accessories in a car. An accessory concerned is e.g. a mobile phone, for which in many cars can not be found a suitable point of attachment. In general, phone holders are attached by means of screws, which leaves disturbing holes in the car interior after the holder has been removed.
The aim of the invention is to create a new kind of attachment device, which is has not the above-mentioned disadvantage. The device is characterised in that the attachment device includes an accessory attachment bracket and at least one attaching part, by means of which the device can be attached to a car without the need of making screw holes or leaving other marks in the car interior.
According to one advantageous embodiment of the invention the attaching part is provided with a groove or a corresponding part that can be pressed to a free edge of a side window of the car thus leaving the accessory attachment bracket inside the car. Then there will be no disturbing marks, such as screw holes, left in the car interior.
According to another advantageous embodiment the attaching part has been equipped with a sticker element that can be attached inside a car door or some other hidden point in the car interior. Because the sticker attachment is not applied on any surface in sight, it will not so far leave any marks in the car interior. The conventional sticker attachment, e.g. on the dashboard, may create marks that appear as disturbing as screw holes.
According to a third embodiment the sticker element of the attaching part can be attached to the sidewall of a car radio compartment.
According to a further embodiment the sticker element of the attaching part can be attached to the top surface of the glove compartment.
It is essential to the attachment device according to the invention that it will be attached to a car without screws or corresponding fasteners. However, the additional sticker attachment can also be used when an exceptionally firm installation is wanted. According to an advantageous embodiment the attachment device includes a plate-like part by means of which the attachment device can be installed in a car by inserting the plate-like part into an adequately narrow gap or slit in the car interior. If the gap or slit is tight enough for the attachment of the device, there will be no need to use the sticker attachment as a security measure. A narrow projection, such as a window glass, can also be used as a point of attachment. Here, too, a part of the device fits a narrow opening between the window glass and the door, especially when the window will be opened.
The invention will be further described by referring to the following drawings where
Fig. 1 shows an attachment device according to the invention attached to a car side window. Fig. 2 shows an axonometric assembly view of the attachment device of Fig.1. Fig. 3 shows a device of Fig.2, seen from the side, the parts being apart from each other. Fig. 4 shows a diagonal top view of a part of the attachment device. Fig. 5 shows the part of Fig. 4, seen from another direction. Fig. 6 shows an attachment device to be mounted to a car door. Fig. 7 shows an axonometric view of the attachment device of Fig. 6.
Fig. 8 corresponds to the Fig. 7 and presents another embodiment of the attachment device. Fig. 9 shows the attachment device of Fig. 8, seen from the side, and the parts apart from each other. Fig. 10 corresponds to Fig 9 and presents the attachment device seen from the other side. Fig. 11 corresponds to Fig.10 and presents the attachment device seen from the opposite side. Fig. 12 shows diagrammatically an attachment device according to the invention attached to the sidewall of a car radio compartment by means of sticker attachment. Fig. 13 corresponds to Fig. 12 and presents the attachment device and the radio installed. Fig. 14 shows the attachment device attached to the top surface of a glove compartment by means of sticker attachment.
Fig. 15 shows a third embodiment of the attachment device. Fig. 16 shows the fourth embodiment of the attachment device. Fig. 17 shows the attachment device attached to the edge of a car side window. Fig. 18 shows separately the accessory attachment device of Fig. 17 with an accessory. Fig. 19 shows the attachment device of Fig. 18 without an accessory.
Fig. 20 shows several alternative ways of installation of the attachment device. Fig. 21 shows a car radio sidewall, on which the attachment device can be attached. Fig. 22 shows a car radio with the accessory attachment device attached to it. Fig. 23 shows the accessory attachment device to be attached to a car interior by means of a sticker, and the accessory. Fig. 24 shows the accessory attachment device.
In Fig. 1 is shown an attachment device 30 according to the invention provided with an accessory attachment bracket 31 and an attaching part 32 to be mounted to an edge of a car side window. Furthermore, to the attaching part 32 to be mounted to the window edge can be attached an exterior antenna-part 34, which will be left outside the car. From the Fig. 1 it can be seen that the gap of the attaching part 32 has been pressed to the edge of the car window glass so that the glass remains clamped in the gap of the attaching part. Preferably, this gap is obtained by bending the plate that forms the attaching part 32 into a suitable shape.
In Fig. 1 is shown a cross-sectional view, which presents a situation where the glass of car side window 35 has been lifted up against the gasket 37 of the car door frame 36. In other words, the window is in this situation closed. The accessory attachment bracket 31 is provided with different kinds of openings 38, which serve for fastening of an accessory, such as a mobile phone. In addition, to the edge of this plate-like attachment bracket 31 it is punched a projection 39 that forms a gap where e.g. a memo list, a map or the like can be pushed.
In Fig. 2 is shown an axonometric view of the assembly of the attachment device 30 of Fig. 1 , where the components are slightly apart from each other. It can be seen from the figure that the attaching part 32 to be attached to the edge of the window glass is provided with screw holes. The screws 40 and 41 are driven to the screw holes to attach the antenna part 34 and the accessory attachment bracket 31 to the attaching part 32. This attaching part 32 is described in detail in Figures 4 and 5.
In Fig. 3 is shown an assembly view of the attachment device 30 corresponding to Fig. 2 and seen from the side.
In Fig. 4 is shown the attaching part 32 of the attachment device of Figures 1-3, the attaching part to be mounted to the edge of the window glass. It can be seen from the figure that the attaching part 32 has three screw holes 42a, 42b and 42c, which will be described in detail in Fig. 5. With these screw holes 42a, 42b and 42c and the screws 40 and 41 to be driven into the holes the attachment device 30 assembly can be widely modified for mounting different kind of car accessories.
In Fig. 6 is shown the attachment device 30b to be attached to the inside part 44 of a car door 43. It can be seen from the figure that the attaching part 33 of the attachment device 30 has been inserted to the slot between the car door and the window glass inside the side window 35. The attaching part 33 is provided with a sticker element 45 that sticks to the inside part 44 of the door 43. So both the side window glass 35 and the attaching part 33 of the attachment device 30b remain between the car door gaskets 46a and 46b. Because the surface of the attaching part 33 leaning against the window glass 35 has been made sliding e.g. with a teflon coating, the attachment device 30b does not prevent the opening and closing of the side window 35 of the car, and it also does not scratch the glass 35. Also the entire attachment device 30 can be made of metal plate that is coated with teflon plastic.
In Fig. 7 is shown an axonometric assembly view of the attachment device 30b of Fig. 6. The figure shows that the attaching part 33 to be attached inside the car door is provided with a sticker element 45 that sticks to the inside structure of the door. The accessory attachment bracket 31 is attached to the attaching part 33 by means of a screw 40.
In Fig. 8 is shown another embodiment of the attachment device 30b of Fig.7, where the accessory attachment bracket 31 is shorter. So this part has only few star-shaped holes 38b e.g. for attachment of a phone holder with screws.
In Fig. 9 is shown the attachment device 30b of Fig. 8, seen from the side and the parts slightly apart from each other.
In Figures 10 and 11 there have been shown the attachment device 30b of Fig. 9 seen from two opposite sides of the attaching part 33.
In Fig. 12 is shown a schematic horizontal cross section of a car dashboard, seen from above. From the figure can be seen that the attachment device 30c according to the invention has been attached by means of a sticker to the sidewall 50 of the car radio 48 compartment 49 in the dashboard 47. When the radio 48 has been mounted to its compartment in the dashboard, as seen in Fig. 13, the attachment bracket 31 for accessories remains properly projecting out from the dashboard so that a phone holder, e.g., can be attached to it. The attachment device 30c can be attached to the sidewall of the dashboard 47 compartment can be made e.g. by sticker attachment.
In Fig. 14 is shown a vertical cross section of a car dashboard 47 through the glove compartment 51. From the figure it can be seen that attachment device 30b is attached to the top surface 52 of the glove compartment 51 by means of e.g. sticker attachment. The shape of the attachment device 30b allows the closing up of the glove compartment hatch 53 leaving a part of the attachment device 30b projecting from between the hatch 53 of the glove compartment and the dashboard 47. After this, a mobile phone, for example, can be mounted to the attachment bracket 31 for accessories.
In Figures 15 and 16 it has been shown different kinds of assembly solutions for the attachment device 30. Essential to the device according to the invention is that different kind of assemblies for different kind of accessories can be formed by using attaching brackets and attaching parts said above.
In Fig. 17 is shown the accessory of Fig. 1 attached to the edge of a car side window glass.
In Fig. 18 the accessory 30 has been detached from the window. The figure shows that a mobile phone 54 is mounted to the accessory attachment bracket 31 of the attachment device 30.
In Fig. 19 is shown the attachment device of Fig. 18 without a phone.
In Fig. 20 is shown by circles and by arrow indicators several different alternative points, where the attachment device 30 according to the invention can be attached. So the attachment device can be attached to the top edge of any side window of the car, or alternatively to the front edge of the window. The attachment device can also be located at the lower part of the side window attached to the inside part of the car door by sticker attachment.
In Fig. 21 is shown still another way to attach the attachment device according to the invention to the sidewall of the car radio 48. In Fig. 22 is shown that the attachment device 30 has been attached to the sidewall of the car radio 48 by means of a sticker and a mobile phone 54 is attched to o the accessory attachment bracket 31.
In Fig. 23 is shown the attachment device 30 and a mobile phone detached and in Fig. 24 is shown only the attachment device 30.
It is obvious to a person skilled in the art that the different embodiments of the invention may vary within the scope of the claims presented below.
