Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a un nuevo procedimiento utilizando 7-metoxi-tetralona como material de partida para la preparación de N-[2-(7-metoxi-1-naftil)etil]acetamida, también conocida como agomelatina. Resulta un primer objeto de la invención, el compuesto 7-metoxi-tetralona utilizando de acuerdo con el Esquema I para la formación de Agomelatina. El segundo objeto de la invención, el compuesto 7-metoxi-tetralona utilizado de acuerdo con el Esquema II para la formación de Agomelatina. Además la invención también se refiere a una nueva forma cristalina X de agomelatina y a sus procesos de preparación.
