UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
SAMUEL HAYWARD, OF BOSTOBT, MA
85 CO., 0F BRATTLEB DESIGN FOR ORGAN-CASE.
Specification forming part of Design No. 6,679,
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, SAMUEL HAYWARD, of Boston, in the State of Massachusetts, have invented a Design for an Organ-Case, of which the following is a specification:
' The nature of my design is fully represented in the accompanying photographic illustration, to which reference is made.
My design for the front or front board of the organ-case consists of the shape of the inverted ornamental brackets at each side of the blowpednls, and extending upward toward the keyboard, and which are connected near their top with an ornamental bar or rollextending horizontally across the front board of the case; and also in the combination therewith of a pendent ornamental tigure arranged between said brackets on the front.
The front board of the organ-case is represented by c c c, d 01 being the pedals, at each side of which is situated a bracket, b, in inverted position, its smaller extremity extending upward toward the key-board e of the instrument. Extending horizontally across the dated May 27, 1873 application filed April 25, 1873.
front of the case, and united with the upper portion of the brackets b b, is formed the ornamental bar or roll a a, and depending centrally therefrom is the ornamental figure f, which occupies a central position on the front between the brackets. These figures impart to the front of the case an ornamental and varied appearance, relieving it of the monotony of a plain surface.
i claim as my in vention- 1. The design for the front of an organ-case, consisting of the bar a. min combination with the brackets b b, substantially as herein shown and described.
2. The pendent ornament f, in combination with the bar a a, substantially as shown and described.
In witness whereof I have hereunto signed my name in the presence of two subscribing witnesses.
SAMUEL HAYWARD. Witnesses:
WM. W. BURRAGE, A. B. UOFFIN.
