UNITED STATES ATENT (Demon.
HERMINE GUIDEZ, OF NEW YORK, N. Y.
DESIGN FOR A PATTERN FOR DRESS-SKIRTS.
To all, whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, HERMINE GUIDEZ, a citizen of the United States, residing in NewYork, borough oEManhatta11,and State of New York,
rave invented and produced a new and original Design for Patterns for Dress-Skirts, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanyingdrawings, forming a part thereof, in which Figure l is a side elevation of a dress-skirt pattern, showing my new design; and Fig. 2 is a horizontal section of the same on line 2 2, Fig. 1.
As shown in the drawings, a represents the skirt-body, a the girdle-piece, and b the sidegore trimmings, which extend from the girdle-piece in downward direction to the lower part of the skirt. The side-gore trimmings b are connected at several points between the girdle-piece and the bottom of the skirt by festoon-like bands I), which form, in connection with the side-gore trimmings, the leadin g features of the design.
The girdle-piece,
side-gore trimmings, and curved bands are ornamented by beaded edge trimmings, and the side-gore trimmings, adjacent theirpoints of connection with the girdle-piece and transverse bands, with diamond-shaped openings 17 The lower set of curved bands is arranged with two openings 12 which partly overlap each other. The bottom of the skirt a terminates in flounces d, trimmed with beads in the same manner as the side-gore trimmings.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-- The design for a pattern for dress-skirts, as herein shown and described.
In testimony that I claim the foregoing as my invention I have signed my name in presence of two subscribing witnesses.
I-IERMINE GUIDEZ.
Witnesses:
PAUL GOEPEL, HENRY SUHRBIER.
