UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
FERDINAND THIELKE, OF BROOKLYN, NEW YORK.
DESIGN FOR A HANDLE FOR BUTTON-HOOKS OR SIMILAR ARTICLES.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 35,574, dated January 14, 1902. Application filed N0vember 22, 1901. Serial No. 88,352. Term of patent 3% years.
To (0Z6 whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, FERDINAND THIELKE, a citizen of the United States, residing at New York, borough of Brooklyn, county of Kings, and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design fora Handle for Button-Hooks or Similar Articles, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, which shows a side view of my newly-designed handle applied to a button-hook, the latter being shown in dotted lines.
The leading feature of my design consists of the floral decoration at the upper or outer end of the handle, representing an iris-flower, the grass-like leaves of which form a border for the upper widened end of the handle and partially surround a plain surface, below which surface is located a second iris-flower, the stem of which proceeds from grass-like leaves, forming a border for a second or lower plain surface, and below the latter are buds and leaves for decorating the lower end of the handle in harmony with the upper end.
Referring to the drawing, A represents an iris-flower occupying the extreme upper end of the handle, the stem 13 of which proceeds from the grass-like leaves 0, bordering on one side the plain surface D, the opposite side of the latter being bordered by similar leaves E. Below the plain surface D is a second irisflower F, the stem G of which proceeds from the grass-like leaves H H, bordering the plain surface I, the lower end of the handle being decorated with the buds K and leaves L.
that I claim is- V The design for a handle for button-hooks or similar articles, substantially as herein shown and described.
