Description

N0- 827,559. PATBNTED JULY 81, 1906.
A. H. OBERG.
HOLDER FOR NURSING BOTTLES.
APPLICATION IILED MAR. 17, 1906.
WITNESSES: INVENTOI? unrrnn srrns PANT QTFTQEO Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented July 3 1 1 906.
Application filed March 17 1906. Serial No. 306.594.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, ALFRED H. OBERG, a
citizen of the United States, and a resident of- Sheridan, in the county of Sheridan and State of Wyoming, have invented a new and Improved Holder for N ursing-Bottles, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description.
The purpose of the invention is to provide a holder especially designed for the form of nursing-bottles commercially known as the hygeia bottle, and to so construct the holder that it will be strong, light, and economic and so that it will stand firmly in any position in which it may be placed, whether the support be soft or hard.
A further purpose of the invention is to so construct the holder that the nipple of a bottle placed thereon can be brought within con venient reach of an infant lying down and so that there will be no danger of the bottle leaving the holder.
The invention consists in the novel construction and combination of the several parts, as will be hereinafter fully set forth, and pointed out in the claims.
Reference is to be had to the accompanying drawing, forming a part of this specification, wherein is shown a perspective view ofthe improved holder and a bottle held thereby. A represents a nursing-bottle of the hygeia type. A represents the nipple therefor, and 13 represents the improved holder. N
T e holder B is made from one piece of spring-wire of suitable gage, the wire being bent upon itself to form a horizontal side member 10, and then the wire is carried down and up at each side of this side member, forming two legs C, each of which consists of two members 11 and 12. The wire forming the, inner members 12 of the legs 0 is then carried vertically upward above the side member 10, forming uprights 13, and from these uprights 13 the wire is bent downward into the form of semicircular loops D openat the top, and from the sides of the loops oppo site the points adjacent to which the legs 0 are located the wire is carried upward to form standards 14 of equal height to the uprights 13 described, and then the wire from these standards 14 is carried vertically downward, forming two side legs 0, each of which terminates in an'eye 15, so that wherever the legs come in contact with an object they will not become entangled therein, and wherever the wire is bent upon itself it is curved in such manner as not to abrade the skin or tear any article coming in contact with it.
The body of the bottle is pressed down into the open loops D and rests therein, and the length of the holder corresponds practically to the length of the body of the bottle, so that the nipple A extends out from one end of the device. a
Having thus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent- 1. A holder for nursing-bottles, constructed of one piece of wire, comprising legs, semicircular loops between the legs, open at the .top, and a connecting member for the legs at one side of the holder.
2. A holder for nursing-bottles, constructed of one piece of wire bent upon itself to form a horizontal side member, legs at each end of the side member, each of said legs being formed with two members, semicircular loops formed from the wire, constituting the inner members of said legs, and single legs formed from the wire at the opposite side of the loop, the single legs having their ends rounded off and all of the corners of the device being rounded, as described.
In testimony whereof I have signed my name to this specification in the presence of two subscribing witnesses.
ALFRED, H. OBERG.
