IMPROVEMENT IN PEN-S.

Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 222,847, dated December 23, 1879; application filed October 24, 1879.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, JAMES P. WADLAGE, of Burlington, Des Moines county, Iowa, have invented a new and useful Improvement in the Manufacture of Gold Pens, of which the following is a specification.

Figure l of the drawings is a representation of my improvement on a plan view. Fig.

2 is one of the nibs of a pen with the improvement attached.

The nature of my improvement consists in the securing, by soldering or otherwise, upon the outside or inside of the nibs of a gold pen of two reciprocal cross tongues or ribs, preferably of gold.

A A represent the nibs of a gold pen, upon one of which the cross tongue or rib B is secured so that its point may rest upon the other nib. Upon the other nib is secured the tongue or rib 0, preferably similar to the rib B, so that its point may rest upon the opposite nib. This forms a secure fastening by to two.

What 1 claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-- A gold pen provided with reciprocal cross tongues or ribs, substantially as shown and described, for the purpose named.
